A school project describing Brain Gym's use in the classroom. I am not affiliated with Brain Gym. I just chose to use it as an example for my educational technology class project.
This document describes a curriculum and resources for early childhood education that integrates storytelling, exercise, and self-regulation. It includes DVDs or MP4s with creative movement, yoga, and Brain Gym activities to enhance physical fitness, emotional stability, and learning readiness. Accompanying printed materials reinforce health lessons and self-care techniques. Research highlights cognitive and academic benefits of activities like increased attention, behavioral regulation, and stress reduction. The program aims to unify mind and body for optimal learning using bilateral and cross-lateral movement.
This document provides information about a movement and mindfulness curriculum called Movement & Mindfulness 102. It introduces the team that created the curriculum, including their backgrounds and qualifications. It outlines the objectives of learning about entrainment, self-regulation skills, adventure skills, and mindfulness games. It then provides more detailed descriptions of these topics, including explanations of entrainment and coherence, self-regulation techniques, cross-lateral movement tools, and mindfulness games and chants. Resources like videos are also referenced.
Our Brains and Physical Exercise document outlines 5 main points about how exercise benefits both physical and brain health: 1) Exercise boosts activity in the brain's frontal lobes and hippocampus. 2) Staying hydrated is important as even mild dehydration can slow brain function. 3) Exercise increases neurons in the hippocampus and helps create new brain cells, improving memory. 4) Exercise can decrease risks of illness like heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. 5) Watching calorie intake along with exercise can aid in weight loss. Brain Gym exercises are also described that can help focus, reduce stress, and improve academic skills.

This document provides information about a movement and mindfulness curriculum created by Leah Kalish. It includes her education background developing curriculum since the 1990s. The curriculum aims to increase physical activity, focus, self-regulation and mindfulness skills through engaging activities. It lists objectives of understanding the importance of movement for learning and well-being. Educational principles support learning through movement, storytelling, acquiring self-regulation skills and nurturing relationships. The document provides examples of activities, games and benefits of incorporating movement into learning.
This document provides an overview of movement and mindfulness activities and skills that can be integrated into the classroom to support children's well-being, learning, and social-emotional development. It outlines Leah Kalish's background and experience developing movement curricula. It then describes several movement activities ("Adventure Skills") that target key areas like focus, coordination, and self-regulation. Examples of how to incorporate these skills at different times of the day are also provided. The overall goal is to easily and immediately integrate more movement and mindfulness.
The document discusses how movement and physical activity can positively impact learning and brain development by increasing blood flow, releasing neurotransmitters, and strengthening connections in parts of the brain related to memory, attention, and motor skills. It provides an overview of research supporting the brain-body connection and introduces Brain Gym techniques like cross-crawl, lazy eights, and thinking cap that integrate movement to facilitate information processing and learning.
Wiki slideshow: Why PDHPE should be taught in Primary SchoolsSofishie
This document discusses the importance of physical activity for children aged 6-12. It defines physical activity as any bodily movement including recreational activities like soccer and dancing, as well as daily activities like walking to school. Being physically active provides benefits like decreasing obesity, improving mental health and self-esteem, and developing strong bones and muscles. The Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) curriculum teaches children skills and knowledge to maintain healthy, active lifestyles through activities, social skills, problem solving, and decision making. Experts recommend that children participate in enjoyable physical activities for 60 minutes per day, which can be accumulated through walking, school activities, and after school programs.
This document provides a summary of readings related to how movement and wellness support learning for adult learners. It discusses how exercise and physical activity can improve readiness to learn by positively impacting neurotransmitters, brain cell development and neural connectivity. The summary highlights several key resources that were reviewed, including books and articles discussing the cognitive benefits of exercise and the importance of addressing stress for adult learners. The document aims to better understand how to integrate wellness strategies and create a whole-person approach to teaching.

Assessment and Planning in Educational technology.pptxKavitha Krishnan
In an education system, it is understood that assessment is only for the students, but on the other hand, the Assessment of teachers is also an important aspect of the education system that ensures teachers are providing high-quality instruction to students. The assessment process can be used to provide feedback and support for professional development, to inform decisions about teacher retention or promotion, or to evaluate teacher effectiveness for accountability purposes.
How to Fix the Import Error in the Odoo 17Celine George
An import error occurs when a program fails to import a module or library, disrupting its execution. In languages like Python, this issue arises when the specified module cannot be found or accessed, hindering the program's functionality. Resolving import errors is crucial for maintaining smooth software operation and uninterrupted development processes.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
