4. The future of our children lies in their early mental
development. Children need both positive physical and mental
stimulations for brain development. Every sensory movement
and its interactions trigger the release of neurotransmitters in
the brain, hence actively stimulating the brain cells for mental
development. Thus, the key determinants of a child’s
intelligence such as learning, mastery and social abilitilities,
self-confidence, curiosity, and creativity, are acquired during
the earliest years in life.
5. Why Learn SIP Abacus?
There are specific procedures methods in using Abacus. Simultaneous communication
between the hands, eye and the brain occurs when children use BOTH hands to move
the beads to apply arithmetic calculations. The brain cells receive stimulations as
pictures of beads and finger movements are registered in the brain. Visual cues are
processed in the right hemisphere whereas the left hemisphere processes analytical
information. Abacus education enhances the development and progress of many
abilities. Scientific analyses have demonstrated the effectiveness of Abacus training in
the following six abilities :-
◆ Ability to concentrate (Concentration)
◆ Ability to visualize (Visualization) and to be inspired (Inspiration)
◆ Ability to memorize (Memorization)
◆ Ability to observe attentively (Insight)
◆ Ability to process information (Information processing)
◆ Ability to listen and read quickly (Speed reading and listening)
6. “Children‘s brains experience dramatic changes through the use of their five senses.
The brain takes in the external world through its system of sight, physical, hearing,
smell, touch and taste. This means that … social, emotional, cognitive, physical and
language development is stimulated during multi-sensory experiences … As a parent
or childcare provider … create a multi-sensory environment.”

7. What is SIP Mental
Arithmetic?
Mental Arithmetic is a process or a product of learning through the Abacus
Methodology based on Arithmetic Concept.
In the beginning of course, children need to master the basic manipulation
skills of the abacus, which is the two-hand technique. As they proceed, they
will acquire the analytical, imaginative and thinking skills, as well as
observation, memorization, visualization and attentive-listening techniques.
The visible result is the ability to perform mathematical calculation without
the use of any electronic tools. The invisible benefits are even more
extensive. The above techniques will build a strong foundation for higher
levels of learning in all academic and nonacademic domains.
The essence of this programme is to assist students in optimizing their brain
potential and to improve their performances in all aspects of life.
