Community refers more specifically to a group of people living together in an area, sharing a common culture and sense of identity. Key differences between society and community are that society encompasses a larger population with looser social bonds, while community involves a smaller group with closer interactions and stronger feelings of togetherness.

• Thomas Hobbes: He propounded this theory
