The Constitution And The American Constitution
When our founding fathers decided to separate from England, it was understood that they would have
to form their own government. Their first official form of government failed, but they learned from
their mistakes and promptly followed up by making quite possibly the most successful constitution
ever in 1776. To ensure that American citizens would enjoy their new freedom, our founders kept in
mind what John Locke had said in his An Essay Concerning Human Understanding life, liberty, and
property, by coining life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness into the final draft of the constitution.
The constitution is important because it exists to protect the rights of all citizens, and has no legitimate
power to deprive any citizen or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Compared to the United States 4,543 worded constitution, Texas constitution has nearly twenty times
more words (87,000) (Collier). The national constitution has never been replaced; however, it has been
amended twenty seven times. Texas s constitution has been replaced a total number of 5 times due to
how detailed it is. Depending on the era, a constitution may have certain rules which as time
progresses become more hurtful to its constituents. Only a century ago, women and people of color
had little to no rights as a human being. It took America, Land of the free , a little more than a century
to allow women to vote. It is obvious that the ability to amend a constitution is a valuable one. The
issue in Texas is that it has had a unique history and vast spread of land; therefore, it s constitution is
quite detailed. Texas was once its own republic, it was one of the later states to be admitted to the
United States, and that it occupies so much land that counties within its lines often differ drastically.
Texas first constitution was made in 1836, when it stood as a country, there were no lower units of
government, free African American people must have had permission by the Texas legislature to
reside in the state, priests could not hold office (corruption in Mexico), slavery was legalized, and
slaves could not be freed without permission from the legislature. Those

Case Analysis Of Senz
As part of its promotional strategy, Senz needs to build awareness of its products benefits, establish
the Senz brand name, and influence umbrella purchasers to buy its new asymmetrically designed high
tech umbrella. Umbrellas are not a new invention. People have been buying umbrellas for the past
3,000 years. Senz must adopt a second mover strategy that improves on the standard raindrop shaped,
rib reinforced design, which dominates the market today. However, the patented asymmetric shape of
the Senz Original and the Senz Mini are so unique, rapid penetration of the market is essential to take
advantage of its place in the market as a first mover. First, Senz must demonstrate that it can serve the
needs of potential buyers by informing them ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The promotional campaign should focus on the asymmetric design that automatically adjusts itself to
the best position based on the direction of the wind. Although, Senz should be ready to handle
technical problems and accept financial losses in the introductory stage, it should set up the company
to for a prosperous growth stage.
Senz should seek a public figure to provide user testimony to increase the advertising readership and
communicate Senz s promotions. Examples could be: a high tech design leader, such as Apple s
Johnny Ive; Emma Watson, a celebrity trendsetter; or a high fashion sports figure like Cam Newton.
After it gains traction in the marketplace, the Senz umbrella should be marketed under a moderate
price to people who live new and innovative lifestyles.
Purchasers of this shopping product will collect information prior to, or during the buying trip, so
communicating the features of the Senz design is essential during the product release. The Senz
umbrella sales display and packaging should emphasize the quality construction and its performance
in bad weather, citing wind tunnel tests at the Delft University of Technology. To reassure consumers,
Senz will offer a 30 day trial for all of its

Puritan Community Research Paper
The Puritan community, formed with the intent of separating themselves from religious persecution,
built themselves a new home in North America. Held closely together buy their religion, created a
community in which all people worked diligently, and strived to better themselves spiritually. To be
this upstanding, hard working group the focus of the religion, and the principles the people followed
all starts with the individual contributors to this community.
As individuals, in this community, they do not have to listen to only one person talk about God s
word, and have to belief what they hear. They can perform individualism, reading the bible for
themselves and interpreting what they feel God wants them to read. Through this freedom to read the
word of God for themselves. The people can share their ideas on what the verses in the bible are trying
to interpret, and come to a better understanding, within themselves, on what their purpose in life is.
As the main bonding agent to the people and their community, God was the factor that would

Why People Shouldn T Live Near Volcanoes
Volcanoes
People shouldn t live near volcanoes because they are very dangerous and could erupt at anytime
causing pyroclastic flows, lahars, and landslides. The volcano eruption in Tambora, Indonesia, in
1815, killed around 92,000 people due to these events that happen when a volcano erupts.
One reason why people shouldn t live by volcanoes are pyroclastic flows, pyroclastic flows are high
speed avalanches of hot ash, rock fragments, and gases. These pyroclastic flows which can reach 1,500
degrees fahrenheit and move 100 150 mile per hour that are capable of knocking down and burning
anything in its path (Pacific Disaster Center). More than 2,000 people died from pyroclastic flow
surges during the 1982 eruption of El Chichon in southern mexico. ... Show more content on

Lahars can travel up to 50 miles per hour at one time. Over 21,000 people died in armero colombia in
a lahar bodies and bones were found years later. Lahars commonly reach 20 40 miles per hour (Pacific
Disaster Center).
The third reason why people shouldn t live by volcanoes is landslides a landslide is a rapid downhill
movement of rocks, ice, and snow. Heavy rainfall can cause landslides to ocurre not just volcanic
eruptions. Volcanoes are suscept to landslide because they are composed of layers of weak fragmented
volcanic rocks that tower above the surrounding terrain (Pacific Disaster Center). Landslides can very
from small rocks, ice, and snow to millions of pounds of rock, ice, and snow at one time.
Some people view volcanoes as great land formations to live by because they produce geothermal
energy. Geothermal energy means natural energy form the earth. The energy that is made is steam that
is very hot which has to be filtered first due to all of the bad ash particles and bad gases that are in the
steam. Countries such as Iceland make extensive use of geothermal power with approximately two
thirds of Iceland s electricity coming from steam powered turbines (The Geography

Giza Informative Speech
Intro
Hi there! Welcome in the east wing! This wing is all going to be about the 7 wonders of the ancient
world. You will find the Great Pyramid of Giza, The lighthouse of Alexandria, the temple of Artemis
at Ephesus and so on! Some of them you might know about and well ... some of them you didn t! So
now stop reading this and have fun going back in time!
The great Pyramid of Giza, Egypt
The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest monument on the list of the 7 wonders of the ancient world. It
is also the last one standing.
The great pyramid was built between 2584 and 2561 BCE for the fourth dynasty Khufu (in Greek;
Cheops). It took approximately 20 years and 20,000 workers to complete the construction. But they
never used slaves. Lots of farmers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All the bluestones for the construction are imported from places up to 225 km! So how did they
manage to get stones that weigh more than 25 tons to the place where they are now? It s still a
mystery. There are some speculations that it s done with boats or partially by glaciers.
Funfact: Stonehenge went on the auction block in 1915. It s previous owner died in WWI. It was sold
for ÂŁ 6600, and three years later donated to the British government.
Statue of Athena in the Parthenon
The statue of Athena in the Parthenon is also not on the list of the 7 wonders of the ancient world. But
with the fact that the Parthenon itself is an amazing structure ALSO The statue of Athena used to be
standing there...How can it not be on the list??
The magnificent temple in Athens was built between 447 and 432 B.C. It was dedicated to their
goddess Athena (Goddess of wisdom, craft and war).
The temple was constructed to give a home to the statue of Athena, which is also made by Pheidias.
The statue was dedicated to her for her contribution by the victories in the Persian Wars. It was more
than 12 meters high and was mate of ivory (for the body) and gold (for the armor). She was fully
armed. In her right hand she held or Nike (Victory) or an owl (Wisdom). In her left hand she held her

How did the Tokugawa Period contribute to the economical and political success of Modern Japan?
Introduction:
Important aspects of the Tokugawa period led to the development of Early Modern Japan. The
Tokugawa Shogunate s evolving economic and political structure became the foundation for the
political economy of the rapid modernisation of Japan, which was to follow after.
Tokugawa Leyasu, the great Shogun
This period between 1603 (when Tokugawa Leyasu became the great Shogun of the Tokugawa
Shogunate) and 1867 (when Tokugawa Yoshinobu formally returned political authority to the
emperor) is also called the Edo Period. Edo is the former name for what is now Tokyo. This period
was named after Edo castle, where the emperor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Ronin class had no political power and they depended on others for their economic needs.
Peasants c. 1670
Ninety per cent of the Japan s population was made up of the Peasant class. They worked as farmers in
the agricultural estates of the Daimyos and kept a part of the whole production that come up. In that
way, they met their personal needs.
Artisans c. 1800s
The Artisans crafted various art items, cooking pots, farm tools, weapons and utensils, non essential
goods and therefore were near the bottom of the ranking.
Highly respected for their innovative art and craft designs, they marketed their designs all over Japan
to make their living. The Samurai and Daimyo did not produce any goods, they used tax surpluses to
fuel their consumption. Artisans moved around the castles to meet their needs.
Merchants c. 1800s
The Merchants who made up as much as 10% of the population by 1800 lived in large towns and
cities. They traded local and regional goods. Merchants grew increasingly powerful during that period.
They were on the bottom of the social order because they produced wealth without producing any
goods.
What were the Tokugawa Shogun s intentions by implementing such a feudal system?
The implementation of the Four Class system was meant to support the military needs of the ruling
Tokugawa House and its allies.
It seemingly left no room for social mobility, economic development or intellectual freedom. It was
meant

endowment is time and who derives utility from leisure and consumption. For the individual,
consumption and leisure are both normal goods. If the income effect dominates the substitution effect,
then an increase in the wage rate will cause the individual s supply of labour to: a) Increase. b)
Decrease. c) Remain unchanged. d) None of the above (as it will depend on the circumstances).
Question 1. Consider two individuals who derive utility from leisure and food (and no other goods).
Both individuals have 100 hours of time to divide between leisure and work (labour), and no other
form of income. Further, both individuals receive the same money wage (and face the same money
price for food). Using income and substitution effects, explain why we might see one individual
respond to an increase in the wage rate by increasing their supply of labour, while the other individual
might decrease their labour supply. Question 2. Consider an individual who derives utility from leisure
and food (and no other goods). Assume both goods always have positive marginal utilities. The
individual has an endowment of time (100 hours), plus an endowment of food. What happens to the
individual s supply of labour as their endowment

Critiquing Pickles King And Belan s Study
INTRODUCTION This essay will be critiquing Pickles, King and Belan s study of nursing students
attitudes to caring for patients with HIV and/or AIDS (2012) by evaluating each component of the
paper, including the credibility of the authors, literature review, research aim, methodology, sample,
ethical considerations, data collection and analysis, results and conclusions. Finally, the relevance of
the research to nursing practice will be considered. Understanding research is essential for nurses as
this ensures that the most up to date, safe and effective care is given. In addition to this, The Code
(Nursing and Midwifery Council, 2015) states that any advice or information given to a service user
must be based on the best available evidence, which should be based on methodologically sound [and]
clinically relevant research (DiCenso, Guyatt and Ciliska, 2005, p. 4). By understanding and critically
reviewing research, nurses are able to select research upon which they can base their clinical decisions

assessing the competence of the researchers difficult. The abstract of this paper (titled Summary

Pathophysiology Of Addison s Disease
Pathophysiology
Addison s disease is also known as Adrenocortical Insufficiency, which means the adrenal cortex does
not produce enough hormones (Understanding Medical Surgical Nursing, 2015). Addison s disease
occurs when the adrenal glands, above the kidneys, don t make enough hormones that are essential to
normal body functions (Understanding Addison s Disease, n.d.). The most common cause of Addison
s disease is due to the adrenal cortex being abnormally small or atrophied. This causes the adrenal
cortex to not produce as many hormones (Understanding Medical Surgical Nursing, 2015). If the
disease is primary, the pituitary gland may be sending out elevated levels of ACTH
(adrenocorticotropic hormone) to try to get the adrenal cortex to produce more hormones. When the
disease is secondary, the ACTH does not stimulate the adrenal cortex to produce more hormones
(Understanding Medical Surgical Nursing, 2015). Only 1 out of 100,000 people actually have Addison
s disease; making it very rare. Addison s disease occurs in men and women of any age (Understanding
Addison s Disease).
Etiology, Causes, and Risk Factors
Some people believe that Addison s disease is autoimmune disease. They think the gland sort of
terminates itself. Diseases such as tuberculosis, AIDS, cancer, and fungal infections are thought to
cause the self destruction of the adrenal cortex. Hashimoto s thyroid and bilateral adrenalectomy may
also cause Addison s disease. Secondary Addison s disease

The kids need to understand discipline, and with an underlying problem with drugs and the way kids
behave today, at vacation Bible school we teach them truth, morality and self discipline.
Naturally, one of the other things we do here, is teach them about eternity, because the Bible teaches

Streile Dressing Change
Running head: STERILE DRESSING
Critical Thinking Application with Sterile Dressing Changes
One of the best methods of reducing infection in patients with any type of wound is sterile technique
with dressing change. Heavy colonization of infected sites is a risk factor for infections associated
with any type of wound but mostly for wounds that penetrate deeper into the skin. Sterile site dressing
is advocated to protect the open wound from contamination because it will come in to direct contact
with the wound, and sterility is required in order to execute the application of the dressing
successfully. The nursing process is an important principle to use when examining, treating, and
maintaining any type of wound or applying wound ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Perform sterile dressing changes as ordered, less than or excessive changes can affect the healing
process and increase the risk for infection. There are also implications for infection control and
delayed healing due to repeated wound exposure, and an increased risk of epidermal damage and
irritant contact dermatitis by repeatedly removing adhesive products (Hollinworth, 2005). The wound
should be packed with enough gauze to cover the open wound but it should not be packed in too
tightly because that obstructs air getting to the tissues. Once the wound has been packed, a few dry
pieces of gauze should be placed over the open wound followed by the abdominal pad. The area
around the skin should be dry because moist skin can lead to breakdown and further skin
complications. The last step of the process is to clearly label the dressing so that when other nurses
and healthcare professional come to assess the client, they will know when and by whom the dressing
was last changed by. The nurse should be explaining what he/she is doing as the application goes on,
and teach the patient why sterile technique is necessary. By teaching, the nurse is informing the patient
how he/she can be more involved in their own care and the importance of keeping their wound clean
because it can lead to further and more

Physics of Skydiving Essay
The Physics of Skydiving
What Is Skydiving?
Skydiving is an adrenaline based sport with a fairly simple concept jump from a high place (usually
out of a plane) from several thousand feet above sea level and hope and pray for a safe landing. This
safe landing is often times achieved through the use of a device called a parachute, which enables the
skydiver to reduce his speed to such a point that colliding with the earth will not be fatal.
This paper will explain a few of the key concepts behind the physics of skydiving. First we will
explore why a skydiver accelerates after he leaps out of the plane before his jump, second we will try
and explain the drag forces effecting the skydiver, and lastly we will attempt to explain how ... Show

Lets examine a free body diagram of this situation.
One may now clearly see why Joe does not accelerate downward while he remains is in the plane. The
normal force of the plane is acting against the normal force of the gravity acting on Joe s 100 kilogram
mass (this is getting close to the maximum weight allowed for skydiving). Since the sum of the forces
in the y, or upward direction, is equal to zero, there is effectively no force acting on Joe. Thus, the
acceleration of Joe must be zero.
Now that Joe understands why he is remaining at a constant altitude, he s ready to take his first jump.
Joe is given the signal to jump from the jump master, and he steps right off the edge of the plane. Joe
is now instantly accelerating in the downward direction. Joe s acceleration will soon cause him to
travel at a rapid rate. But exactly how fast will he be traveling at a certain time? Without this
knowledge, Joe could easily splatter against the surface of the earth. In order to calculate Joe s
velocity at any time, T, we use the following equation:
X = Vi * T + .5 * g * t^2
Where X is the change in distance, Vi is the initial velocity, t is time, and g is the acceleration due to
gravity. Since we know Joe s initial velocity was 0, and the acceleration of gravity is always 9.8
m/s^2, we can calculate how far Joe has traveled at any point in time. Lets examine the new free body
diagram for this situation.
As you can see, the normal force is now

Get a Knife, Get a Dog but Get Rid of Guns by Molly Ivin
Molly Ivins s Get a Knife, Get a Dog, but get Rid of Guns is the authors personal opinion on how guns
should be banned from public use; she argues guns only kill that it would be safer to carry a knife or
get a dog to protect us. She uses the Second Amendment to back up her argument about guns being
only for the well trained militia. The claim of the argument is Guns are a Danger, so it s safer to get a
knife or a dog. Ivins s argument is unclear without addressing the main reasons why guns are bad
overall.
Ivins s first proof of an assumption is Let me start this discussion by pointing out that I am not
antigun. I am pro knife. Consider the merits of a knife (323). If Ivins s is not anti gun then why is she
making this argument? She is pro knife then she gives evidence about what the good things about
having a knife are. Her evidence that backs up why she argues that a knife is safer than a gun is In the
first place, you have to catch up with someone in order to stab them. A general substitution of knives
for guns would promote physical fitness. We d turn into a whole nation of great runners. Plus, knives
don t ricochet and people are seldom killed while cleaning their knives (323).
The author states why it is a good idea to carry a knife, we would have to be physically fit with good
aim or skills if we were to carry a knife, But fighting against someone with a gun while the person has
a knife the gun wins so it wouldn t be able to protect the person. We would

Small Town Living In Our Town
The play Our Town, illustrates the true essence of small town living. When living in a small town,
people see a familiar face wherever they go and know the history and character behind these
individuals. Life in a small town can lack options for entertainment at times; some may even
categorize it as dull . Yet, anyone can see that Grover s Corners, the town written about in Our Town,
and Colby, Kansas contain a life full of personality and charm. The citizens of Grover s Corners live a
basic life throughout the majority of the play. The play portrays daily life, love and marriage, and how
delicate life can amount to. The life lived today in Colby compared with Grover s Corners depicts
several similarities as well as differences. Each person in the small town lives a simple life that meets
their basic needs: working, their political philosophy and their religious affiliation. In Act I, the Lady
in a Box quizzes Mr. Webb about the culture of the community. The playwright expresses this through
Mr. Webb saying, Well, ma am, there ain t much not in the sense you mean (Wilder 17). This means
the townspeople don t attend elaborate concerts, but enjoy simple pleasures such as the playing of a
piano at local events. In our town, very rarely do big promoted concerts choose Colby as their venue,

Classroom Design Analysis
The studio classroom here at RPI is unique in the way that students and professors interact with it. The
room was set up to cultivate open and creative thinking in order to inspire design. Due to the
interactive nature of the studio classroom, both professors and students frequently use the white board
when teaching or explaining class concepts. When selecting my project 2 product, I connected my
experiences with the uses of the classroom whiteboard and thought of a Whiteboard Squeegee . Now
that I am at the point in the design process where I analyze the potential users and stakeholders, I
narrowed down the user group for the whiteboard to studio professors and students. There are certain
characteristics that make this user group unique ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This issue is brought to light from Donald Norman s different perspective, for people themselves are
often unaware of their true needs, even unaware of the difficulties they are encountering (Norman 9). I
have been using whiteboard erasers for my entire academic career and have always subconsciously
noted the fact that using them, especially on a large board, comes with its issues. They can be tiring
and difficult to reach and clean the entire board, due to the small handheld eraser that has been
adopted and remained relatively unchanged. The whiteboard eraser in the studio classroom seems to
have been overlooked by the user group perhaps for multiple reasons, which adds strength to my cause
as a designer. The ability to design for a group of individuals who thoroughly appreciate innovation
allows for my project to have a strong potential impact. Initially, I assumed that my user group would
contain but not be limited to people who interact in a classroom. The fault in this thinking comes into
play when defining the unique characteristics of the user group. A generic classroom doesn t
necessarily need a larger ergonomic whiteboard eraser because it doesn t hold much value to them
outside of its function as an eraser. My target user group is in constant need of products and scenery
that enhance the classrooms design identity. Though a white board eraser may seem insignificant, it
could inspire the design of

schools, he visits Riverdale, P.S. 24. Because of the property value of the houses around Riverdale, the
school gets a lot more money than either P.S. 261 or P.S. 79. This chapter focuses on how money is
divided up to schools. It appears that the value of the homes in the district far a school determines the
amount of money that in invested into that school. Kozol emphasized the importance of financial need
in the school system therefore giving a positive outlook on many of the schools. He incorporated the
fact that values and income does determine the level of a child s education. In chapter 3, Kozol
discusses the inconsistencies in property tax revenues and the problem that the poorer districts aren t
getting the same opportunities for education as the more affluent neighborhoods. He says the reason
for this is that the poorer districts don t receive as much money as the affluent districts because their
property isn t worth as much, therefore they get less money in return. Although this seems to be unfair,
there is an opinion that reflects the positive side of this process. In New York, the children in the
middle class districts receive an elevated source of education; however children in other areas

In recent years, Porter opened a new $50 million 10 gate terminal, increasing take off slots from 167
to 202 (allowing for more flights during the day). Within the last year, Porter Airlines has added
service to Newfoundland and Charleston, South Carolina. The company is currently approaching the
completion of an underground tunnel, which will increase and improve traffic flow from the terminal
to the main land compared to the original transportation via ferry. It has long been assumed that in the
recent years Porter has plateaued. Billy Bishop is restricted to 202 landing slots daily, and the Q400s
can t fly any farther than Porter already flies them. Due to this, in April 2013, Porter announced
expansion plans to increase its customer base. The plan stated that their goals would be accomplished
through increasing the number of destinations, acquiring 30 Bombardier CS100 Jets, and increasing
the airport runway by 300 meters on each end. However their plan has been met with many
challenges, because Porter s plans require regulatory and facility changes to its Billy Bishop Toronto
City Airport hub. Porter has asked for modifications to the operating agreement of the airport to allow
jets and extensions to the runway to support the new aircraft (Porter, 2015). Signed in 1983 by the
federal and municipal governments and the predecessor to the Port Authority, the tripartite agreement
lays out regulations and restrictions intended to govern Billy

Caucasians have the lowest amount of melanin in their skin cells when being compared to other
cultures. Melanin is crucial to protecting our skin from UV rays, and so someone with a darker skin
tone is better protected. At what age does skin cancer typically occur? Is the incidence of skin cancer

Types Of Sigma Delta Modulators
Abstract This thesis investigates several types of Sigma Delta modulators in different conditions as a
possible solution to the all digital audio and wifi signal receivers. In this research, two main
approaches are under consideration. Oversampling is a technique to design a sigma delta modulators.
Undersampling(or subsampling) is an interesting technique which allows the sigma delta modulators
to sample high frequency signals such as WIFI and GNSS signals. Time interleaving modulation is
another way to implement  modulators in high frequency domains. Acknowledgement I would like

Nomads In South American History
All along, history has been written through the eyes of Westerners. Indigenous inhabitants who did not
use the conventional way of recording events, that is, writing, has been overlooked from time and
time. Nomads for instance, orally passed information from one generation to another, but without
actual tangible evidence where information can be verified. It also does not help their case that we
tend to focus on history that are agricultural but most importantly, has resonance with the modern
world, which Nomads, both are not (Dickinson, January 2017). Other Natives like the Inca in South
America had no writing methods but meticulously kept record through tying knots on strings (Daniels/

exports were only to Europe, especially after colonization. However, contrary to popular belief,
Westerners were not the leaders of navigational progress and European ships of the 15th century, were
not superior than those centuries earlier. Navigational knowledge of Spaniards of this time was
elementary and seamen were considerably ignorant on navigation according to Columbus (Van
Sertima, p.57). Normally, I would not generalize and that there may be some exceptions, but
Columbus is said to have spearheaded trans Atlantic navigation, thus, him saying that Europeans were
poor in navigation ought to have considerable weight. Europeans came into possession of such skills
during the Renaissance (Daniels/ Hyslop, p.) of the 14th century. Such maritime technologies
necessary to cross the Atlantic has been available to other non Western civilizations suchlike the
system of longitudinal and latitudinal coordinates that has been available in China since 100 B.C.,

originated in ancient Greeks, but was diffused and developed for years also came from the Arabs (Van
Sertima, pg.57). Zheng He, a successful and famous Chinese commander is said to have navigated
decades before Columbus, judging from the year Ma Huan s compilation finished in 1451 (Mills,
p.137 141). Furthermore, Africans themselves navigated the Atlantic prior to Christ (Van Sertima,
p.57). This is proven by Thor Heyerdahl of Norway who tested the validity of previous statement by

Hybrid Vehicle Research Paper
Hybrid Electric Vehicles and Their Advantages
The HEV [Hybrid Electric Vehicle] concept goes back to 1905. On November 23 of that year,
American engineer H. Piper filed for a patent on a hybrid vehicle. Piper s design called for an electric
motor to augment a gasoline engine (1, pg 2) and thus, the HEV was born. Hybrid Electric Vehicles,
otherwise known as HEVs are vehicles that combine the internal combustion engine of a conventional
vehicle with the battery and electric motor of an electric vehicle (2).
In this day and age car manufactures are trying to out compete one another in terms of car features and
sales. Technology has come a long way since 1905 but the principle is still the same: to produce ...

Those who may doubt the potential for HEVs may ask: ?Why HEVs?? The Office of Transportation
Technologies makes the following points about HEVs:
?The practical benefits of HEVs include improved fuel economy and lower emissions compared to
conventional vehicles?Hybrids will never be true zero emission vehicles, however, because of their
internal combustion engine. But the first hybrids on the market will cut emissions of global warming
pollutants by a third to a half, and later models may cut emissions by even more?(2).
Although hybrid vehicles are not zero emission vehicles, they are a very good alternative to the
conventional vehicles that are on the road today. With the capability to have a higher fuel economy
and emit lower amounts of pollution, hybrids are strong contenders against such vehicles as SUVs
(sports utility vehicles).
Another advantage that HEVs have is that they are competitively priced with other vehicles on the
market today.
?The HEVs available for sale are very cost competitive with similar conventional vehicles. Any cost
premium that may be associated with HEVs of the future can be off set by overall fuel savings and
possible incentives?(2).
As a result of not having a very high price tag, in comparison with standard vehicles, HEVs are

The scene in the novel where all the porno cinemas were bombed and burned to the ground was
somewhat important in the fact that it showed to state of anarchy our country is in, in this novel. The

the porno cinemas gave an example and showed how the Underground Military worked. This in a
sense excluded them from the list of suspects do to there expert use of explosives. If they had indeed

Organizational Leadership Analysis
The most communicated organizational need in the global business environment is organizational
leadership. Today, more than nine hundred universities and colleges exist to train, teach, and educate
those who wish to become leaders in the specific topics of organizational leadership. Moreover,
publications that inform benchmarks, best practices, and basic leadership concepts are becoming must
read material in the global organization. Even though leadership may be defined in many different
ways, the substance of the definition is similar. Leadership has been said to be a trait, an ability, skill,
behavior, and relationship (Leadership New Leadership Styles, 2016). No matter what leadership is to
the individual, leadership is needed and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, leadership traits may be altered by success when internalized by men and women in
moving an organization toward success. In any event, leadership traits may be categorized into the
most common, and likable leadership titles. These titles include: (1) Spiritual; (2) Servant; (3)
Transformational; (4) Authentic; and (5) Transactional. Depending upon the organization, the culture,
and the organizational environment, the leadership style needed or desired to move the business to
success is a critical decision. Organizations that lack leadership or lack the appropriate motivational
leadership tools will have difficulties in the global competition. Recognizing the lack of leadership
abilities may prevent organizational failure, unwanted staff turnover, organizational conflicts, reduced
productivity, and undesirable legal encounters.
Discussion
Using two distinctly different approaches in quantifiable research, one may compare and contrast
qualitative and quantitative leadership styles. By means of two measured studies, the one most
distinguish and one least advantageous leadership style may be determined. These studies may also be
used to predict the most productive leadership style for organizational growth. Additionally, determine
which leadership styles may be ruled out, or not used, due to lacking leadership traits. What ever the
outcome, this study begins with the quantitative leadership styles.

Computers Are A Necessary Part Of Our Lives Day Essay
Computers are indeed a necessary part of our lives day in and out. Some of us need to face them all
day, others spend only a few hours or less. Nevertheless it is undeniable all of us get to a certain point
in time where our eyes feel the strain of using it. How can we avoid computer eyestrain? Here are a
few pointers to help our eyes stay healthy. Break up the time we spend on the computer. For those that
need to spend hours at a time on the computer, the degree of eyestrain often correlates with the length
of usage of the computer. Taking a very short break after 30 minutes e.g. even if only for 1 minute will
help to reduce the fatigue. Use eye lubricants when necessary. When using the computer, most of us
stare at the screens because we are concentrating on something, This reduces the blink rate and results
in dry eyes. For some, just resting the eyes by closing it for a short period helps to get our eyes
sufficiently moist again, however some people s eyes are so dry that they need regular lubricants to
alleviate the symptoms. Use eye lubricants that are recommended by your doctor. Do not get into the
habit of using steroidal based eyes or eyedrops that cause vessel constriction (giving the false security
of having white eyes) as these can cause future unwanted side effects such as glaucoma. When using
lubricants, those with severe dry eyes should use it on a regular basis rather than waiting for their eyes
to feel pain or discomfort first. Relax

Questions On The Parenting Plan
Alvin,
I have some things that I would like to discuss with you, regarding the parenting plan. I recognize the
two of us have sort of have steered away from a few details and feel we need to get back on track.
EXCHANGE
Initially, when creating the parenting plan, the two of us agreed to meet half way for exchange since
you were living in Spring Hill, and I in Palm Harbor. This is why we chose the church. Since you
moved to New Port Richey a few months back, I have not suggested changing the location as I felt
comfortable meeting there. However, since your move, I understand you only live approximately 5
minutes away from the church; making it an exchange location no longer half way. After this past
Sunday, when I drove 30 minutes out of my way for the switch not to happen, I realized how unfair
that is to me. For this reason, I would like to change the exchange location to be closer to the middle
again. According to Google Maps there is slightly under 30 minutes drive (with no traffic) between
our addresses, therefore I feel a suitable meeting spot is at Publix in Tarpon Springs. This is still
further of a drive for me than for you, nevertheless I feel that it is an excellent location for a
comfortable swap. Please let me know if this is not plausible, thus an agreement can be made on this
matter.
I would even consider possibly the parent who is getting the children drives the full distance to pick
up, making meeting locations within 5 minutes of the home address (so for

Multinational Corporations ( Mncs ) Essay
The enterprises that operate in numerous countries to produce or provide services outside their
original countries can be identified as Multinational Corporations (MNCs), or Transnational
Corporations (TNCs). Usually, an MNC can produce at least 25 percent of its world output outside of
its country of origin. Recently, a new breed of MNC emerges thanks to Internet based communication
tools. They begin their operations in different countries very early on. Because they are small
businesses, these companies are being called micro multinationals to distinguish them from larger
MNCs. Several of these micro multinationals are software development companies. They have been
looking for employees in many countries since the start of the age of the Internet. Nowadays, an
increasing number of micro multinationals actively market their products and services in numerous
nations. The use of Internet tools like Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ebay and Amazon makes it easier for the
micro multinationals to reach potential customers in other countries. There are many ways to explain
the diverse and manifold growth of the multinationals. Those include these factors: (1) Expansion of
market skills, (2) Superior marketing, (3) Huge financial resources, (4) Technological edge. Expansion
of Market Skill After India announced the liberalized foreign investment policy in 1991, a growth
spurt in the number of MNCs as well as foreign collaborations occurred. The MNCs in India are very

The fuzzy logic controller is responsible for controlling the length of the green time according to the
traffic conditions. The state machine controls the sequence of states that the fuzzy traffic controller
should cycle through. There is one state for each phase of the traffic light. There is one default state
which takes place when no incoming traffic is detected. In the sequence of states, a state can be

DESIGN CRITERIAAND CONSTRAINTS
In the development of the fuzzy traffic lights control system the following assumptions are made:
i) The junction is an isolated four way junction with traffic coming from the north, west, south and

and vice versa. iii) No right and left turns are considered. iv) The fuzzy logic controller will observe
the density of the north and south traffic as one side and the west and east traffic as another side. v)
The East West lane is assumed as the main approach.
Vi) The minimum and maximum time of green light is 2 seconds and 20 seconds respectively.

Crossing Brooklyn Ferry Poem Analysis
Walt WhitmanÂŽs poem Crossing Brooklyn Ferry uses the theme of time to communicate a sense of
Trancendentalist unity. Whitman s Transcendentalist speaker enters the appearances and usual
costumes of the universe of wonders keeping in mind the end goal to find the truth that ties each and
all together in one
The speaker, as The title already indicates taking a ferry in New York, does not waste any time before
presenting the idea that all humans are united in their common experience. The narrator imagines
those who will cross the river in the future, this could also indicate a metaphor for the overall journey

all that preceded. While before he demonstrated things independently, blended with his own

This segment, and the whole poem, comes full circle in a last stanza where Whitman utilizes the

number is small. It is all comparative; it depends on the person, depends on the number, depends on
the unit that number is in. In tangible objects, 3,600 lightbulbs is enough to light the homes in a
neighborhood, and many would agree that it is large. In grains of sand, it s not even enough to form a

The X s placed on the calendar symbolize the countdown of each passing day. When those X s fill a
page on the calendar, a month has gone by and before you know it, the year has passed. Perhaps this is
why calendars are always adorned with beautiful photography or adorable photos of puppies; to soften
the blow and distract from the idea that life is passing by. It seems so strange that days are constantly
passing and with the celebration of every birthday, we are truly celebrating another year closer to the
eminent end of our lives.
With that idea looming on the mind, I wonder, why do humans let something as artificial as time hold
them back and control their whole life? Humans created time. They transformed the concept of the
Earth orbiting the Sun into a tangible tick on a clock. It is possible to physically watch time pass down

Sleep Deprivation On 911 Telecommunication Dispatchers
In the current world, the culture of operating on little sleep seems to be regarded highly. Nowhere is
this phenomenon more profound than for 911 telecommunication dispatchers. These employees, who
consider sleep deprivation not as unique to their schedule, constantly have to respond to callers and
coordinate services to emergency situations involving fires, health situations, burglary cases, car
chases, and other situations needing emergency help. However, the effects of sleep deprivation on
these workers can be monumental, given that sleep is critical for the normal functioning of the human
body. Against this grounding, this article describes the effects of sleep deprivation on 911
telecommunication dispatchers and cites some of the incidents where deprivation caused wrong
services to be dispatched, highlights how lack of rest can affect the mood and health of the person and
put the lives of the citizens at risk. In addition, illustrates how sleep deprivation jeopardizes the
employee, company, and the county the 911 agency represents with regards to law and accountability.
There are various examples of incidences where sleep deprivation has made 911 dispatchers issue
wrong services and consequentially cause injuries or death to people needing the services. In one of
the recent cases which happened in 2012, a 911 dispatcher in Maryland failed to order an ambulance

Critically Assess the Pluralist and Marxist Views of the...
Whilst pluralism and Marxism are said to have developed from liberalism and socialism respectively
(through criticising or expanding on those ideologies) thereby both appearing on the left of the left
right economic scale, a great part of their theories are indeed notably different, if not completely in
contrast with each other. However, if we look closely at these theories, the one similarity, often
overlooked by critics, is the fact that both offer a critique of the state despite the fact that their views
are opposing. In order to understand these views of state, it is important to first understand the
fundamental views of both pluralism and Marxism. Only then can these views be assessed and finally
compared with each other, thereby ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Marxism had only developed after the death of Marx therefore the ideas which are
attributed to him are bound to differ. All the same, there is one key issue from which Marxism
developed that is said to be evident:
Marx himself believed that he had developed a new brand of socialism that was scientific in the sense
that it was primarily concerned with disclosing the nature of social and historical development, rather
than with advancing an essentially ethical critique of capitalism.
Heywood (2003:125)
So whilst Marxism is essentially a critique of capitalism, Marx initially criticised the Hegelian theory
and so had developed his own views from there, where he had noticed that power was centralised and,
furthermore, effectively abolished the chance of there ever being a classless society.
The pluralist view of the state came about as an objection to state sovereignty, out of fear that the state
would remain totalitarian if power was only exercised within the state as opposed to distributed
amongst society as a whole (Schwarzmantel, 1994; Smith, 2006). Pluralists are said to have a naive
theory of how the state behaves neutrally in a liberal democracy (Dunleavy and O Leary, 1987:41), as
it is impossible for the state to behave in such a way when power can never truly be distributed
equally and is held within the state in itself. As Nicholls (1975) affirms, those who wanted a
decentralised state were attacked because oligarchy

The Greco-Christian Beliefs Of American Democracy
In the winter of December 7th, 1787, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the U.S. Constitution was ratified
to establish the new country of the United States as a democracy. After their victory over the British
for American Independence, the United States government created the Constitution in an effort to
further establish themselves as an independent nation. With a new form of government that would not
allow the injustices caused by the British monarchy to occur again, the Constitution s fundamental
principles abided by many of the Greco Roman and Judeo Christian beliefs about people and
government. The Judeo Christian and Greco Roman seeds of democracy contributed to the United
States democratic government by protecting the rights of the individual and by giving the ability for
the citizens to vote on its leaders and laws.
The American Constitution was influenced partly by Judeo Christian ideas, mainly that the natural
rights of individual should be protected and unalienable. Followers of Judaism surmised that humans
were created in God s image, and as such each individual has a divine spark that gives him or her a
dignity that cannot be taken away (M.W.H. 12). In the American democracy, the Bill of Rights gives
all of the country s citizens certain rights that are unalienable, and cannot be taken away. As opposed
to other forms of government, where the social status of a citizen determined his or her rights, the
American Constitution gave all citizens the same rights

The Change In Macbeth And Lady Macbeth s Wickedness
In William Shakespeare s Macbeth, there are multitude of changes throughout the play within
Macbeth and Lady Macbeth s wickedness. A metamorphosis takes place deep inside both characters;
however, the changes oppose each other. The witches chant: The weird sisters, hand in hand, posters
of the sea and land, thus do go about, thrice to thine and thrice to mine and thrice again, to mine and
thrice again, to make up nine. Peace! The charms wound up. (Act 1.2 Lines ) The witches pour
prophecies into Macbeth giving him an insight of what is to come in his future as King of Scotland.

After receiving a letter from Macbeth, her first thought is about hoe to convince Macbeth to become
King. She thinks to herself: Yet do I fear thy nature it is too full o th milk of human kindness... Hie
thee hither, That I may pour my spirits in thine ear and chastise with the valor of my tongue all that
impedes thee from the golden round. (Act 1.5 Lines 13 15 and Lines 22 25). When he returns home,
she says Look like the time; bear welcome on you eye (Act 1.4 Line 61). She implies that with the
strength she has she will over power Macbeth thought and get him to the throne to make it their own.
Lady Macbeth has a lot in mind and through all the thoughts that are cramming into her head only one
stuck, and it was to kill King Duncan while he is asleep. It is time for their rebellious move to become
the new reign of Scotland. Macbeth is still not up for the murder of his King because King Duncan is
loyal to Macbeth as he is with King Duncan. Lady Macbeth does not care she would love to go ahead
and kill him and become Queen of Scotland for her to conduct this horrible crime she has in mind.
Macbeth and Lady Macbeth have to wait till everyone leaves the castle. Later on that night, Macbeth
is feeling delusional he starts to imagine the dagger that he will kill King Duncan with. Macbeth says:
is this the dagger which I see before me, the handle toward my hand...A dagger of the mind, a false
creation proceeding from the heat oppressed brain? (Act 2.2 Lines 32 33 and Lines 37 and 38)
Throughout all the trauma, Macbeth loses his mind he kills the King and the guards without knowing
what he was doing. As soon he becomes King of Scotland, he kills with no hesitation. Macbeth kills

Fear and Tension in The Whole Towns Sleeping and A Terribly Strange Bed
The essay i have written is a comparison of two short stories. One written by Ray Bradbury in 1950 s
and titled The Whole Towns Sleeping . The other was written by Wilkie Collins in 1856 and entitled A
Terribly Strange Bed .
The Whole Towns Sleeping is about a middle aged spinster called Lavinia 37, who goes to the cinema
with her friends while a mysterious killer, is at large. She is fully convinced that the killer would not
strike again for another four weeks because a murder has just occurred, and they seem to happen at

The Whole Towns Sleeping is set in a small town in Illinois, U.S.A. A ravine runs straight through the
middle The ravine cut the town in two . The ravine is the mysterious area of the town like a black
dynamo , surrounded by secret mists and odours of a rank greenhouse . The description of the ravine
creates tension and shows it to be a constant threat with its dark and gloomy images.
In A Terribly Strange Bed the main part of the story is set in the back street of a seedy gambling house
in Paris. The atmosphere is described, Here, there was nothing but tragedy mute weird tragedy. The
quiet in the room was horrible . This builds up tension effectively, and creates an effective image of
the gamblers as they watch in silence, and their desperate need to win to survive.
Lavinia Nebbs the protagonist in The Whole Towns Sleeping is described as very straight and slim , a
typical spinster who has lots of confidence in herself, and quite sensible, but occasionally craves
excitement, which inevitably will lead her to make errors in judgment.
She insists that she stays at her own home and declines several offers of a bed for the night, even
though The Lonely One is still on the loose, and despite warnings she insists she will still walk home
alone. These

o The most obvious function, governments rely on bond markets to fund the gap between spending
and revenues. o Bond yields are essential elements in the pricing of other long term assets, ranging
from equities and real estate, to gold and foreign exchange rates. For instance, most ways of assessing
fair value of the stock market require some long term interest rate, either to discount to the present a
flow of corporate dividends or to compare to a given price earnings ratio. o Long term interest rates
are the basis for the cost of borrowing to both firms and households. It is the price of leverage. They
determine how much households need to pay on their fixed rate mortgages and importantly, corporate
treasurers use them to assess the value to shareholders of expected flows of revenue on real
investment projects. o Long term sovereign bonds are the core investment for long horizoned
investors, such as pension funds and insurance companies. o Futures and options based on long term
sovereign bonds are widely used to hedge other long term bonds. For all these reasons, if the long
term bond yield is in some sense off, if there are questions about their valuations, then lots of other
valuations will also be off, and lots of financial, business and households decisions will also be off.
My theme tonight is that understanding the developments in bond markets can help us to think about
the global economy, where we are going and where we should

Purge Persuasive Speech
Despite the horrible ideas of what a purge is, the world should have one. There have been two movies
made about purges, so it must be a good idea to have one for ourselves. The benefits of having a purge
are, it is a stress reliever, controls the population count, and for a few hours you could be the most
powerful person. Purging is a great concept that everyone should be open to. Have you ever wanted to
get rid of all of your stress? Well having a purge would help you do exactly that. The thrill of killing
someone makes you forget everything entirely and just focus on the person you are killing. Maybe
there are certain people who make you stressed, kill them and your stress is gone forever. Now the
purge is only for a few hours so if you have multiple people who cause you to have stress, move very
quickly. (appeal to authority) The earth has entirely too many humans inhabiting it. Purging would
help resolve this issue. There are 7 billion on this planet and roughly 320 million in the United States,
so if we as a country had a purge and everyone killed at least one human then the population would
decrease drastically. The world is very much over ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To be Donald Trump or Harry Styles just for one day. Having all of the fame and power that your little
heart could dream of. Well this thought has crossed my mind frequently and purging would help me
accomplish this goal. I wouldn t want to be Harry Styles but I would like to be a powerful as him. I am
quite certain that I am not alone in this thought. Even though the purge is notorious for killing, I would
by no means kill Harry Styles, I would just take his identity since all crime is legal. Then when
purging hours are over I would go back to my daily life which includes, sitting on my couch and
loathing in my own self pity. Knowing that I could be this powerful would be the greatest achievement
of my life, even though it is for a few hours.

God s Grandeur And The Grandeur And Omnipresence By Gerard...
Everybody has a different escape that reveals God. For me, this would be nature because when I m in
nature I feel closer to God. A verse that helps show this is Romans 1:20, Since the creation of the
world, God s invisible qualities...have been clearly seen being understood from what has been made so
that men are without excuse . This verse relates to the poems God s Grandeur and The Windhover by
Gerard Manley Hopkins and Omnipresence by Luci Shaw because they all discuss how we see God in
nature. Because God has revealed Himself in nature, men have no excuse not to put their faith in Him.
For the poets and for me, nature enhances faith because it s beauty reveals God and His creative work
and moves the receptive heart to worship. In God s Grandeur by Gerard Manley Hopkins, Hopkins
proves that nature reveals God, by beginning his poem with the line, The world is charged with the
grandeur of God (line 1). By using the word charged Hopkins is explaining how God s greatness is
plugged into nature like a cord into a power outlet. Since the world is charged with God s grandeur it
is easy for us to see Him in nature because He s right outside our doors in the trees, in the stars, and by
the ocean. Hopkins ends his poem with an even more complex statement that shows how God is
revealed in nature: the Holy Ghost over the bent / World broods with warm breast and with ah! bright
wings (13 14). The Holy Ghost watches over and protects us. The Holy Ghost over

created by Xin Gaming are Chinese New Year and Fantasies. After creating a loyal domestic fan base,
Xin Gaming has its eyes set on international expansion in 2015 and look set to try there hand at

Emirate has been brilliant at playing Somali Regional Administrators, plying them with flattery and

The European Domination Of Native Americans
Many prominent historians argue a clash between culture and religious philosophy was the primary
cause of conflict between European settlers in North America and Native Americans. However, a
closer analysis of American history suggests otherwise. While a clash in cultures and religious
differences did exist, the European domination of Native Americans was primarily fueled by European
economic motivations, a desire for valuable natural resources and a craving to expand the American
colonial system. Due to this, the conflict was inevitable. Before Europeans ever ventured to North
America, the land had been populated by Native American nations that had their own distinct cultures
and social structures. Native Americans had trade routes and established complex relationships
between tribes. They were not merely heathens waiting to be civilized by the Europeans. Yet,
Europeans would use those justifications to lay claim on their land. To better understand the conflict
between the Europeans and the Native Americans, one must closely examine the state of Europe s
economy at the time. Europe struggled with difficult conditions. This included poverty, violence and
diseases like typhus, smallpox, influenza and measles. There were widespread famines which caused
the prices of products to vary and made life very difficult in Europe. Street crimes and violence were
prevalent in cities: Other eruption of bizarre torture, murder, and ritual cannibalism were not
uncommon .2 Europeans

  • 2. The Constitution And The American Constitution When our founding fathers decided to separate from England, it was understood that they would have to form their own government. Their first official form of government failed, but they learned from their mistakes and promptly followed up by making quite possibly the most successful constitution ever in 1776. To ensure that American citizens would enjoy their new freedom, our founders kept in mind what John Locke had said in his An Essay Concerning Human Understanding life, liberty, and property, by coining life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness into the final draft of the constitution. The constitution is important because it exists to protect the rights of all citizens, and has no legitimate power to deprive any citizen or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Depending on the era, a constitution may have certain rules which as time progresses become more hurtful to its constituents. Only a century ago, women and people of color had little to no rights as a human being. It took America, Land of the free , a little more than a century to allow women to vote. It is obvious that the ability to amend a constitution is a valuable one. The issue in Texas is that it has had a unique history and vast spread of land; therefore, it s constitution is quite detailed. Texas was once its own republic, it was one of the later states to be admitted to the United States, and that it occupies so much land that counties within its lines often differ drastically. Texas first constitution was made in 1836, when it stood as a country, there were no lower units of government, free African American people must have had permission by the Texas legislature to reside in the state, priests could not hold office (corruption in Mexico), slavery was legalized, and slaves could not be freed without permission from the legislature. • 11. Pathophysiology Of Addison s Disease Pathophysiology Addison s disease is also known as Adrenocortical Insufficiency, which means the adrenal cortex does not produce enough hormones (Understanding Medical Surgical Nursing, 2015). Addison s disease occurs when the adrenal glands, above the kidneys, don t make enough hormones that are essential to normal body functions (Understanding Addison s Disease, n.d.). The most common cause of Addison s disease is due to the adrenal cortex being abnormally small or atrophied. This causes the adrenal cortex to not produce as many hormones (Understanding Medical Surgical Nursing, 2015). If the disease is primary, the pituitary gland may be sending out elevated levels of ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone) to try to get the adrenal cortex to produce more hormones. When the disease is secondary, the ACTH does not stimulate the adrenal cortex to produce more hormones (Understanding Medical Surgical Nursing, 2015). Only 1 out of 100,000 people actually have Addison s disease; making it very rare. Addison s disease occurs in men and women of any age (Understanding Addison s Disease). Etiology, Causes, and Risk Factors Some people believe that Addison s disease is autoimmune disease. They think the gland sort of terminates itself. Diseases such as tuberculosis, AIDS, cancer, and fungal infections are thought to cause the self destruction of the adrenal cortex. Hashimoto s thyroid and bilateral adrenalectomy may also cause Addison s disease. Secondary Addison s disease ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Streile Dressing Change Running head: STERILE DRESSING Critical Thinking Application with Sterile Dressing Changes One of the best methods of reducing infection in patients with any type of wound is sterile technique with dressing change. Heavy colonization of infected sites is a risk factor for infections associated with any type of wound but mostly for wounds that penetrate deeper into the skin. Sterile site dressing is advocated to protect the open wound from contamination because it will come in to direct contact with the wound, and sterility is required in order to execute the application of the dressing successfully. The nursing process is an important principle to use when examining, treating, and maintaining any type of wound or applying wound ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Perform sterile dressing changes as ordered, less than or excessive changes can affect the healing process and increase the risk for infection. There are also implications for infection control and delayed healing due to repeated wound exposure, and an increased risk of epidermal damage and irritant contact dermatitis by repeatedly removing adhesive products (Hollinworth, 2005). The wound should be packed with enough gauze to cover the open wound but it should not be packed in too tightly because that obstructs air getting to the tissues. Once the wound has been packed, a few dry pieces of gauze should be placed over the open wound followed by the abdominal pad. The area around the skin should be dry because moist skin can lead to breakdown and further skin complications. The last step of the process is to clearly label the dressing so that when other nurses and healthcare professional come to assess the client, they will know when and by whom the dressing was last changed by. The nurse should be explaining what he/she is doing as the application goes on, and teach the patient why sterile technique is necessary. Skydiving is an adrenaline based sport with a fairly simple concept jump from a high place (usually out of a plane) from several thousand feet above sea level and hope and pray for a safe landing. This safe landing is often times achieved through the use of a device called a parachute, which enables the skydiver to reduce his speed to such a point that colliding with the earth will not be fatal. This paper will explain a few of the key concepts behind the physics of skydiving. First we will explore why a skydiver accelerates after he leaps out of the plane before his jump, second we will try and explain the drag forces effecting the skydiver, and lastly we will attempt to explain how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lets examine a free body diagram of this situation. One may now clearly see why Joe does not accelerate downward while he remains is in the plane. The normal force of the plane is acting against the normal force of the gravity acting on Joe s 100 kilogram mass (this is getting close to the maximum weight allowed for skydiving). Since the sum of the forces in the y, or upward direction, is equal to zero, there is effectively no force acting on Joe. Thus, the acceleration of Joe must be zero. Now that Joe understands why he is remaining at a constant altitude, he s ready to take his first jump. Joe is given the signal to jump from the jump master, and he steps right off the edge of the plane. Joe is now instantly accelerating in the downward direction. Joe s acceleration will soon cause him to travel at a rapid rate. But exactly how fast will he be traveling at a certain time? Without this knowledge, Joe could easily splatter against the surface of the earth. In order to calculate Joe s velocity at any time, T, we use the following equation: X = Vi * T + .5 * g * t^2 Where X is the change in distance, Vi is the initial velocity, t is time, and g is the acceleration due to gravity. Since we know Joe s initial velocity was 0, and the acceleration of gravity is always 9.8 m/s^2, we can calculate how far Joe has traveled at any point in time. They can be tiring and difficult to reach and clean the entire board, due to the small handheld eraser that has been adopted and remained relatively unchanged. The whiteboard eraser in the studio classroom seems to have been overlooked by the user group perhaps for multiple reasons, which adds strength to my cause as a designer. The ability to design for a group of individuals who thoroughly appreciate innovation allows for my project to have a strong potential impact. Initially, I assumed that my user group would contain but not be limited to people who interact in a classroom. The fault in this thinking comes into play when defining the unique characteristics of the user group. A generic classroom doesn t necessarily need a larger ergonomic whiteboard eraser because it doesn t hold much value to them outside of its function as an eraser. My target user group is in constant need of products and scenery that enhance the classrooms design identity. Though a white board eraser may seem insignificant, it could inspire the design of ... Jonathan Kozol Jonathan Kozol Savage Inequalities: Children in America s Schools Jonathan Kozol, Savage Inequalities: Children in America s Schools is an intense expose of unjust conditions in educating America s children. Today s society of living conditions, poverty, income, desegregation and political issues have forced inadequate education to many children across the country. Kozol discusses major reasons for discrepancies in schools: disparities of property taxes, racism and the conflict between state and local control. Because of the property value of the houses around Riverdale, the school gets a lot more money than either P.S. 261 or P.S. 79. This chapter focuses on how money is divided up to schools. It appears that the value of the homes in the district far a school determines the amount of money that in invested into that school. Kozol emphasized the importance of financial need in the school system therefore giving a positive outlook on many of the schools. He incorporated the fact that values and income does determine the level of a child s education. In chapter 3, Kozol discusses the inconsistencies in property tax revenues and the problem that the poorer districts aren t getting the same opportunities for education as the more affluent neighborhoods. He says the reason for this is that the poorer districts don t receive as much money as the affluent districts because their property isn t worth as much, therefore they get less money in return. Although this seems to be unfair, there is an opinion that reflects the positive side of this process. The company is currently approaching the completion of an underground tunnel, which will increase and improve traffic flow from the terminal to the main land compared to the original transportation via ferry. It has long been assumed that in the recent years Porter has plateaued. Billy Bishop is restricted to 202 landing slots daily, and the Q400s can t fly any farther than Porter already flies them. Due to this, in April 2013, Porter announced expansion plans to increase its customer base. The plan stated that their goals would be accomplished through increasing the number of destinations, acquiring 30 Bombardier CS100 Jets, and increasing the airport runway by 300 meters on each end. However their plan has been met with many challenges, because Porter s plans require regulatory and facility changes to its Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport hub. Porter has asked for modifications to the operating agreement of the airport to allow jets and extensions to the runway to support the new aircraft (Porter, 2015). Some causes of skin cancer are over explosion to UV light, moles, as well it can be passed on hereditarily. Why are Caucasians more at risk of skin cancer than other populations? Caucasians have the lowest amount of melanin in their skin cells when being compared to other cultures. Melanin is crucial to protecting our skin from UV rays, and so someone with a darker skin tone is better protected. At what age does skin cancer typically occur? Types Of Sigma Delta Modulators Abstract This thesis investigates several types of Sigma Delta modulators in different conditions as a possible solution to the all digital audio and wifi signal receivers. In this research, two main approaches are under consideration. Oversampling is a technique to design a sigma delta modulators. Undersampling(or subsampling) is an interesting technique which allows the sigma delta modulators to sample high frequency signals such as WIFI and GNSS signals. Time interleaving modulation is another way to implement  modulators in high frequency domains. Navigational knowledge of Spaniards of this time was elementary and seamen were considerably ignorant on navigation according to Columbus (Van Sertima, p.57). Normally, I would not generalize and that there may be some exceptions, but Columbus is said to have spearheaded trans Atlantic navigation, thus, him saying that Europeans were poor in navigation ought to have considerable weight. Europeans came into possession of such skills during the Renaissance (Daniels/ Hyslop, p.) of the 14th century. Hybrid Electric Vehicles, otherwise known as HEVs are vehicles that combine the internal combustion engine of a conventional vehicle with the battery and electric motor of an electric vehicle (2). But the first hybrids on the market will cut emissions of global warming pollutants by a third to a half, and later models may cut emissions by even more?(2). With the capability to have a higher fuel economy and emit lower amounts of pollution, hybrids are strong contenders against such vehicles as SUVs (sports utility vehicles). Another advantage that HEVs have is that they are competitively priced with other vehicles on the market today. ?The HEVs available for sale are very cost competitive with similar conventional vehicles. Some of us need to face them all day, others spend only a few hours or less. Nevertheless it is undeniable all of us get to a certain point in time where our eyes feel the strain of using it. How can we avoid computer eyestrain? Here are a few pointers to help our eyes stay healthy. Break up the time we spend on the computer. For those that need to spend hours at a time on the computer, the degree of eyestrain often correlates with the length of usage of the computer. Taking a very short break after 30 minutes e.g. even if only for 1 minute will help to reduce the fatigue. Use eye lubricants when necessary. When using the computer, most of us stare at the screens because we are concentrating on something, This reduces the blink rate and results in dry eyes. For some, just resting the eyes by closing it for a short period helps to get our eyes sufficiently moist again, however some people s eyes are so dry that they need regular lubricants to alleviate the symptoms. Use eye lubricants that are recommended by your doctor. Do not get into the habit of using steroidal based eyes or eyedrops that cause vessel constriction (giving the false security of having white eyes) as these can cause future unwanted side effects such as glaucoma. When using lubricants, those with severe dry eyes should use it on a regular basis rather than waiting for their eyes to feel pain or discomfort first. Relax ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Critically Assess the Pluralist and Marxist Views of the... Whilst pluralism and Marxism are said to have developed from liberalism and socialism respectively (through criticising or expanding on those ideologies) thereby both appearing on the left of the left right economic scale, a great part of their theories are indeed notably different, if not completely in contrast with each other. However, if we look closely at these theories, the one similarity, often overlooked by critics, is the fact that both offer a critique of the state despite the fact that their views are opposing. In order to understand these views of state, it is important to first understand the fundamental views of both pluralism and Marxism. Only then can these views be assessed and finally compared with each other, thereby ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, Marxism had only developed after the death of Marx therefore the ideas which are attributed to him are bound to differ. All the same, there is one key issue from which Marxism developed that is said to be evident: Marx himself believed that he had developed a new brand of socialism that was scientific in the sense that it was primarily concerned with disclosing the nature of social and historical development, rather than with advancing an essentially ethical critique of capitalism. Heywood (2003:125) So whilst Marxism is essentially a critique of capitalism, Marx initially criticised the Hegelian theory and so had developed his own views from there, where he had noticed that power was centralised and, furthermore, effectively abolished the chance of there ever being a classless society. The pluralist view of the state came about as an objection to state sovereignty, out of fear that the state would remain totalitarian if power was only exercised within the state as opposed to distributed amongst society as a whole (Schwarzmantel, 1994; Smith, 2006). Pluralists are said to have a naive theory of how the state behaves neutrally in a liberal democracy (Dunleavy and O Leary, 1987:41), as it is impossible for the state to behave in such a way when power can never truly be distributed equally and is held within the state in itself. • 40. The Greco-Christian Beliefs Of American Democracy In the winter of December 7th, 1787, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the U.S. Constitution was ratified to establish the new country of the United States as a democracy. After their victory over the British for American Independence, the United States government created the Constitution in an effort to further establish themselves as an independent nation. With a new form of government that would not allow the injustices caused by the British monarchy to occur again, the Constitution s fundamental principles abided by many of the Greco Roman and Judeo Christian beliefs about people and government. The Judeo Christian and Greco Roman seeds of democracy contributed to the United States democratic government by protecting the rights of the individual and by giving the ability for the citizens to vote on its leaders and laws. The American Constitution was influenced partly by Judeo Christian ideas, mainly that the natural rights of individual should be protected and unalienable. Followers of Judaism surmised that humans were created in God s image, and as such each individual has a divine spark that gives him or her a dignity that cannot be taken away (M.W.H. 12). In the American democracy, the Bill of Rights gives all of the country s citizens certain rights that are unalienable, and cannot be taken away. As opposed to other forms of government, where the social status of a citizen determined his or her rights, the American Constitution gave all citizens the same rights ... For instance, most ways of assessing fair value of the stock market require some long term interest rate, either to discount to the present a flow of corporate dividends or to compare to a given price earnings ratio. o Long term interest rates are the basis for the cost of borrowing to both firms and households. It is the price of leverage. They determine how much households need to pay on their fixed rate mortgages and importantly, corporate treasurers use them to assess the value to shareholders of expected flows of revenue on real investment projects. o Long term sovereign bonds are the core investment for long horizoned investors, such as pension funds and insurance companies. o Futures and options based on long term sovereign bonds are widely used to hedge other long term bonds. • 45. Purge Persuasive Speech Despite the horrible ideas of what a purge is, the world should have one. There have been two movies made about purges, so it must be a good idea to have one for ourselves. The benefits of having a purge are, it is a stress reliever, controls the population count, and for a few hours you could be the most powerful person. Purging is a great concept that everyone should be open to. Have you ever wanted to get rid of all of your stress? Well having a purge would help you do exactly that. The thrill of killing someone makes you forget everything entirely and just focus on the person you are killing. Now the purge is only for a few hours so if you have multiple people who cause you to have stress, move very quickly. (appeal to authority) The earth has entirely too many humans inhabiting it. • 46. God s Grandeur And The Grandeur And Omnipresence By Gerard... Everybody has a different escape that reveals God. For me, this would be nature because when I m in nature I feel closer to God. A verse that helps show this is Romans 1:20, Since the creation of the world, God s invisible qualities...have been clearly seen being understood from what has been made so that men are without excuse . This verse relates to the poems God s Grandeur and The Windhover by Gerard Manley Hopkins and Omnipresence by Luci Shaw because they all discuss how we see God in nature. Because God has revealed Himself in nature, men have no excuse not to put their faith in Him. For the poets and for me, nature enhances faith because it s beauty reveals God and His creative work and moves the receptive heart to worship. In God s Grandeur by Gerard Manley Hopkins, Hopkins proves that nature reveals God, by beginning his poem with the line, The world is charged with the grandeur of God (line 1). By using the word charged Hopkins is explaining how God s greatness is plugged into nature like a cord into a power outlet. Since the world is charged with God s grandeur it is easy for us to see Him in nature because He s right outside our doors in the trees, in the stars, and by the ocean. Hopkins ends his poem with an even more complex statement that shows how God is revealed in nature: the Holy Ghost over the bent / World broods with warm breast and with ah! bright wings (13 14). The Holy Ghost watches over and protects us. The Holy Ghost over ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 49. The European Domination Of Native Americans Many prominent historians argue a clash between culture and religious philosophy was the primary cause of conflict between European settlers in North America and Native Americans. However, a closer analysis of American history suggests otherwise. While a clash in cultures and religious differences did exist, the European domination of Native Americans was primarily fueled by European economic motivations, a desire for valuable natural resources and a craving to expand the American colonial system. Due to this, the conflict was inevitable. Before Europeans ever ventured to North America, the land had been populated by Native American nations that had their own distinct cultures and social structures. Native Americans had trade routes and established complex relationships between tribes. They were not merely heathens waiting to be civilized by the Europeans. Yet, Europeans would use those justifications to lay claim on their land. To better understand the conflict between the Europeans and the Native Americans, one must closely examine the state of Europe s economy at the time. Europe struggled with difficult conditions. This included poverty, violence and diseases like typhus, smallpox, influenza and measles. There were widespread famines which caused the prices of products to vary and made life very difficult in Europe. Street crimes and violence were prevalent in cities: Other eruption of bizarre torture, murder, and ritual cannibalism were not uncommon .2 Europeans ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
