Hetch Hetchy Dam Valley And The Longest Debate Between...
Hetch Hetchy Dam The Hetch Hetchy valley is the subject of one of the greatest and longest debates
between conservationists and preservationists. In short, preservationists look to safe the great Hetch
Hetchy valley from being dammed and flooded, and by doing that they prevent San Francisco people
from getting what is rightfully theirs, the clean water and natural resources of the Hatch Hatchy valley
and the Tuolumne River. Conservationists are on the other hand, they try to use the most of the Hetch
Hetchy valley. Conservationists strongly support the Raker bill that allows the government of San
Francisco to build the dam and provide the clean water to the city and county of San Francisco.
Building the dam and flooding the Hetch Hetchy valley will destroy a part of the beautiful scenery
replacing it with a lake, but it also tremendously increases the practical use of the Hetch Hetchy
resources: it will provide electric power and the so much need water to the San Francisco district and
will still provide the surrounding irrigating districts with the normal amount of water, it is the best
project to solve San Francisco water problems considering the price and efficiency of the dam, and in
addition it will also improve the popularity of the Hetch Hetchy and make it more accessible to the
middle class people across the state. The damming and flooding the Hetch Hetchy valley will resolve
the insufficiency of a water supply in San Francisco. Approving the Raker bill will

Howard Zinn Argumentative Analysis
Howard Zinn argues that the state has three main purposes. They are to settle upper class disputes
peacefully, control lower class rebellion, and adopt policies that would further the long range stability
of the system .(Zinn Online). In the case of putting down and controlling a lower class rebellion is
very prevalent in the Anti Renters rebellion. After the economic crisis of 1837 many tenants, who
were now unemployed, owed money to the land lords who owned massive amounts of land. Many of
the tenants came together out of fear of being evicted, and were against the monopolization of the
land. When these poor tenants began to rebel, the state had to use force to suppress them, The
governor sent three hundred troops in, declaring a state of rebellion existed, and soon almost a
hundred Anti Renters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These laws were the perfect way for the state to make sure that the system is stable in the future. Just
recently on April 2nd, the Supreme Court of the United States turned down the overall cap on
monetary political donations. This is a classic case of the state adopting policies to ensure the stability
of the system. Coping the scheme of citizens united the Supreme Court in a 5 4 decision allows an
individual to donate as much money as they please to federal candidates in a two year election cycle.
Although federal law bans direct contributions to campaigners by corporations and business, super
pacs allow money to get to the politicians without direct contact. But this law still allows wealthy
individuals to support the candidates that will represent their needs and wants in the national
government. This creates an unfair system aimed at helping the elites because they will have more
money to donate therefore will have more of the campaigners attention. Justice Breyer realized the
importance of this decision being turned down and was recorded writing Where enough money calls
the tune, he wrote, the general public will not be heard. (New York Times).

Effects Of The Attack On Pequot Fort
The attack on Pequot Fort was a brutal, one sided battle between the Pequot people, fellow Natives
Americans, and the Englishmen. The Pequot fought very hard and stood their ground during the battle.
In John Underhill s account, he mentions that he and Captain Mason set fire to the fort. This led to
many deaths of the Pequot people as most of them stayed and fought through the Palisadoes. The
Pequot were slowly losing the war as their warriors died and their weaponry destroyed in the flames.
Those who ran from the fire were killed by the colonists themselves. Those who survived the fire and
fought back were killed nonetheless. The Englishmen had advanced warfare compared to the Natives.
The Colonists had swords, Carbines, and Muskets while

Martin Luther King And Malcolm X
Civil rights activists all had the same paramount goal in mind: equality for Black people in the United
States. While everyone could generally agree on what they wanted fair wages, an end to segregation,
voting rights the means to the end were a little fuzzy, at best. What was the best strategy to gain
respect for the Black people of America, in a society that largely didn t tolerate people of color? Two
major philosophies on the matter stemmed from the minds of great activists Martin Luther King, Jr.
and Malcolm X. Dr. King s approach to the situation was, as always, peaceful protest, while Malcolm
X promoted supporting Black business and communities, allowing them to prosper. While both
approaches would bring about positive change for the Black community in the 60 s, Malcolm X s
approach to the matter makes a more compelling argument by being significantly more beneficial in
the long run.
Both Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X agreed that boycotting white only industries was a
sound method of protest against white supremacy in the economy. However, Dr. King s approach to
the problem ended there. This is not to say that his boycotts weren t effective at all: according to the
article provided, Operation Breadbasket have increased the income of the Negro community by more
than two million dollars annually (King), showing that King s plans weren t all just idealistic
nonsense, which is what Malcolm X most disagreed with in terms of political philosophy. Operation
Breadbasket, the Chicago plan to boycott products from companies that refused to hire Black people
and treat them fairly, succeeded temporarily. Dr. King s boycotting approach cut profits in white only
industries in Chicago and forced them to hire Black people and pay them fair wages, both
substantially beneficial to the Black community. Where Dr. King s plans fall short, however, is in
securing this change and preventing power from slipping back into the hands of white supremacists.
This is why, though a respectable approach, boycotting alone is not enough to evoke lasting,
meaningful change in a community built on oppression and subjugation.
Malcolm X boycotted white industry as well, but the extra steps in his plan went beyond that

The Role of Human Resources Department
The role of the human resources department is to maximize its expertise and knowledge to promote a
diverse work environment that values service excellence, personal well being and professional
development. Some of the functions of human resources are to stay compliant with labor laws, to
recruit, hire and train the best qualified people to do the job. Human resource planning is an important
factor of the human resources department. It is the process of forecasting the supply and demand for
human resources within an organization and developing action plans for aligning the two
(Denisi/Griffin, 2008, pg. 98).Organizations analyzes whether they could function with the same staff
or by increasing staff if needed and the planning can make the difference between success or failure.
Job analysis is another important factor of human resources. This is the process of gathering and
organizing detail information about jobs within an organization so managers can understand the
process to performed most effectively. The job analysis relates to the selection process, performance
appraisal, training, development, and compensation. The training and development is where the
employee learning the job related skills. The organization facilitate the training to employees to focus
on that specific job, whereas, the development teaches the managers and professionals the skills

Be flexible In every country the market conditions are different and require a different approach,
different strategy should be formulated in order to be successful. Keeping these things in mind Tesco
has implemented different strategies in different countries like in France costumers don t believe in
purchasing the food products in a bulk, they used to shop every day and try to get fresh food.
Therefore Tesco entered the Japanese market by getting hold on the discount supermarket operators as
it was very difficult to meet the requirement of the Japanese customers by having the same formats of
hypermarkets.
2. Act local costumers preference should be the first priority for every organisation only then you will
be able to meet the requirement of local costumers. When you enter in a different country the people
over there will be of different culture, the rules and regulations may be different. Tesco understand this
and its strategy of being close to the costumers is the key reason of their success overseas. For ex In
Thailand people doesn t like the western approach of neatly packed products within in a limited area
they mostly prefer to interact directly with the seller and try to choose what they want from a number
of choices. By analysing the costumers behaviour Tesco has opened Rama iv store in Bangkok.

IT improves communication thus improving customer satisfaction and encourages innovation and
creativity which can be used in business growth and expansion. IT also improves the Human Resource
Management process and saves time through automation of various tasks. The use of internet and
computers to work eliminated the space and time boundaries as employees can work from anywhere
and anytime.
Though we enjoy the benefits that come with technology at work, it also tends to be risky, especially
when it comes to data/information security. Those employees in important decision making positions
will need access to private business information which can pose as a threat, as it is very difficult to
monitor the usage and privacy of this information. Employees carry flash drives at work, so they can
easily transfer critical business information and use it for their own personal gains.
One of the worst and most widespread crimes is identity theft. Such thefts where individuals Social
Security and credit card numbers are stolen and used by thieves are not new. Criminals have always
obtained information about other people by stealing wallets or dumpster digging. But widespread
electronic sharing and databases have made the crime worse. Because financial institutions, data

Long-Term Financing Measures
Financing Financing comes in different forms and is issued for various reasons. It also comes with
different processes and requirements and is stated in different ways. Some financing is secured by
company assets where some is unsecured and only backed by unpledged assets in the case of default.
Long term financing measures can range from 10 year to 30 year pay back periods. A mortgage is a
form of security against a loan given in advance. The mortgage loan is a term loan secured by the
mortgaged property. There are residential mortgages and commercial mortgages. Residential
mortgages are housing loans and typically are taken over a 30 year period, but can be for shorter
periods. Some homeowners take them out for a 15 year period to pay less in interest costs.
Commercial mortgages are usually a period of less than 10 years. Mortgage loans include either fixed
or variable interest rates. The fixed interest rates will typically reset every two to three years. The
variable interest rates fluctuate at the interest rates fluctuate with the economy. Mortgage loans are
usually amortized with monthly loan installments. If the amounts are above 80% of the loan to
valuation ratio, it will generally require mortgage insurance to be maintained for the life of the loan. If
the homeowner does not maintain the mortgage insurance for the life of the loan, they could be
considered in default of the loan, giving the mortgage company the right to demand the full balance

Story Of An Hour Setting Essay
Uses of Setting in The Story of an Hour
Setting plays an extremely important role in all stories as a device to help create the situation
characters are in, but sometimes the setting itself tells a story. Within Kate Chopin s The Story of an
Hour the setting is used to not only reveal the feelings Louise Mallard has about her marriage, but also
Victorian era marriages as a whole. The Story of an Hour is a short story about a woman who was told
her husband was dead. People are expecting a reaction of grief from her, due to the fact that those
around her believe she is a perfect Victorian housewife. However, she can t help but feel the weight of
the world lifted off of her shoulders as her obligations to her marriage are finally coming to an end.
Through Kate Chopin s use of limited setting with Mrs. Mallard s room, the staircase, and the window
of this house, an idea of Victorian Era marriages is displayed.

Mallard feels, but also attempts to reveal wives view of marriage during the time period. The staircase
is where Victorian era norms were affecting Louise s reactions and displayed self. In the beginning of
this short story, after she hears about her husband s supposed death, Chopin writes, She wept at once,
with sudden, wild abandonment, in her sister s arms (1). While Mrs. Mallard is on the staircase she
always keeps her true feelings to herself and shows a fake version which adheres to the norms that not
only her sister but also her husband s friend are expecting of her. This is shown later in the story when
it is revealed to the reader that she actually was not happy with her marriage and was excited to hear
of her husband s death. Chopin uses the staircase to represent a place where other s opinions affect
how women at the time acted, alluding to the societal norms of the Victorian

completed that unbelievable shot. Other than these two big differences, the movie and the real event
are very similar. The main two differences were added events to the movie and changed character

represent how most soldiers/veterans feel about the war. Eastwood wanted to show that most

the director included the similarities and differences he did, was to emphasize the effects of the war of
soldiers and the people around them. By changing what he did, and keeping what he did the same,
between the movie and the real event, Clint Eastwood revealed what he believed to be true about war

Financial Literacy
For a majority of young adults, college is the beginning of financial independence. It leads to a greater
responsibility for students to make sound financial decisions. Young adults are faced with many new
financial challenges that require a high level of responsibility (Lyons et. al, 2006). Once at college,
many students are confronted with financial challenges such as: paying rent, writing checks, and
taking out loans for the first time.
If used responsibly, credit cards can work in favor of students. They can establish a credit history and
practice good financial habits. A study completed by Cliff Robb in 2011 examined the relationship
between financial knowledge and credit card behavior of college students. Approximately 80% of

incomes have a greater number of opportunities to interact with their children in a diverse financial
transactions than parents with lower incomes, such as buying a car or renting a college apartment.
(Jorgensen and Savla, 2010). A separate study showed that high school and college students who

Structural Functionalism In The Animated Film Inside Out
The 2015 Disney Pixar animated film Inside Out is the story of an 11 year old girl named Riley and
the personified emotions that shape and control her personality. The movie is a wonderful example of
the functional analysis theoretical perspective of sociology, also known as structural functionalism or,
simply, functionalism, in that it illustrates a society (in this case, the young girl Riley) can maintain
equilibrium only when its component parts (the emotions/characters of Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust,
and Anger) are each present and fulfilling their assigned functions. At the beginning of the film, Riley
and her parents live in Minnesota, where she has friends, enjoys her school, is a valued member of an
ice hockey team, and has an all around happy life. The movie s introduction depicts a typical day of
Riley s life in Minnesota, during which all five of the emotion characters properly fulfill their
functions and leave Riley in a normal state. Joy provides happiness for the young girl. Sadness
provides Riley moments of comfort from her parents and emotional bonding between Riley and her
parents. Fear keeps her from hurting herself by prompting a cautionary response. Likewise, Disgust
and Anger fulfill their intended, beneficial roles, thereby fulfilling their manifest functions. At the end
of the day, Joy congratulates her counterparts, telling them, Nice job, everybody. Another perfect day.
As the story progresses, Riley and her family move from Minnesota to San Francisco, where Riley
experiences culture shock. She and her family find their home to be more than a bit worn and dismal.
To make matters worse, their furniture has become lost in the cross country move, and Riley s father is
experiencing stress and anxiety in his job at a startup firm. Riley is uncomfortable at her new school
and in her new social environment as a whole. Riley s mother urges her to keep smiling, stay happy,
and be there for her father. At first the emotions are able work together, keeping Riley in harmony.
However, Sadness begins to cloud Riley s memories and feelings and override her balanced
personality. She tells Joy, Something s wrong with me. I think I m having a breakdown. Joy attempts

Essay on Leonardo da Vinci s The Last Supper
Leonardo s Last Supper is a priceless piece of art with much hidden meaning and obvious talents
bestowed upon a wall. Under the study of Verrocchio as a painter and a sculptor, he was able to use his
skills in creating a very detailed and a very naturalistic piece of work that would be remembered for
hundreds of years. He was also able to create characters with amazing individuality. Not only was his
portrayal of the characters magnificent, but the symbolism he used which emphasized the story being

Although, the way Leonardo allows its viewers to depict the scene from a specific point in the Bible
adds to the importance and significance of the painting in which no other artist could even compare.
He does allow the viewer to recognize this scene by the gestures of both the Lord and the Apostles.
The Lord sits ever so quietly while the Apostles rise in reaction to what the Lord had just announced.
It is rather obvious that Leonardo chose the critical moment after the Lord had stated, Verily I say unto
you that one of you shall betray me, because of the emotions that evolve in this specific scene (Matt.
26.21).
He took much time to express every detail of each Apostle and the Lord. Leonardo had even wrote in
one of his notebooks that A good painter has two chief objects to paint man and the intention of his
soul. The former is easy, the latter hard because he has to represent it by the attitude and movement of
the limbs (Heydenreich, 27). For example, the Lord is very relaxed with his arms resting on the table
which adds to the portrayal of His greatness. He also emphasized the Lord s greatness by giving Him a
serious attitude and by presenting Him as untouchable with the space between Himself and the
Apostles.
The distance put between them is called the spacial perspective, which is one of the techniques
Leonardo feels is important in naturalistic art. Although, the

out of our culture. Another way that I thought life in American Samoa is so easy, is because we have
to respect each other especially old people and other people that live in your own society. Secondly,
we have to respect our own people with great honor and sincere. This means whatever old people tell
us to do; we have to do it any way. Just the same thing likes our parents. Thirdly, we have to love

Essay about The Lymphatic System
The Lymphatic System
The Lymphatic System is very important. It helps with the
Cardiovascular system, and our immune systems. The Lymphatic System is made up of two semi
independent parts. One is a network of lymphatic vessels. The other part is various lymphoid tissues
and organs all over the body. The functions of the Lymphatic System transporting fluids that have
escaped from the blood vascular system, and the organs house phagocytic cells and lymphocytes.

The Lymphatic System also contains tissues. The tissue of the Lymphatic
System is reticular connective tissue. It hold the macrophages and changes the number of

Lymphoid tissue can be found in the follicles. Lymphoid organs are discrete and encapsulated. The
main lymphoid organs are the spleen, tonsils, thymus and lymph nodes.
The lymph nodes are placed along the lymphatic vessels. Each node has a fibrous capsule, a cortex,
and a medulla. The lymph nodes circulate fluids.
The lymph enters the lymph nodes through afferent lymphatic vessels and exits through the efferent
vessels. (afferent=enter, efferent=exit)
Most lymphoid organs contain both macrophages and lymphocytes. The spleen is a place for immune
function, and it kills defective or aged red blood cells and blood borne pathogens. The spleen also
stores platelets, products of hemoglobin, and acts as hematopoietic sites in the fetus. The Thymus
contains hormones. It is mostly functional in youth. Peyer s patches are on the tonsils, intestional wall,
lymphatic nodules of the appendix and nodules of the respitory tract. (MALT)

2) Social implication of this fetish 3) Commercial implications and cashing on this fixation. Historical
Background The worship of white complexion and projection of the ideal beauty as fair skinned is not
a new concept if we try to track it down he history lane. In fact, this concept has engrained in our
physc by our culture from the ancient times. The Varna system of Social classification When Aryans
(natives of Arctic and hence fair skinned) invaded the Indus Valley, they drove the darker skinned
inhabitants down south. The ones who remained were called as das and made to do subjugated jobs as
labourers, cleaners and even undertakers. Hence in the social classification, they were allotted the
lowest rung. As time progressed and with continuous labour in the sun, the das came to be associated
with dark colour and simultaneously fair colour started to be associated with affluence and aristocracy.
Hence, the social classification, the caste system was very aptly called as the Varna system, Varna
meaning colour . Mythology If one observes ancient Indian texts on mythology and related epics, it is
easy to observe a very common pattern. Almost in all Indian texts the hero of the epic who mostly is

The Civil War And The 19th Century Essay
The 19th century was one of the most troubling times in human history. Things like the civil war, child
labor and even slavery helped shape the literary culture from 1850 1900. The civil war was a war
fought between the Northern and Southern States in the United States of America. Among the 34
states in January 1861, seven Southern slave states individually declared their secession from the
United States of America and formed the Confederate States of America. The first state to secede was
south carolina after the election of president lincoln in 1860. After South Carolina seceded, the cotton
states of Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas followed, seceding in January
and February 1861. Union and Confederate leadership and fighting soldiers on both sides believed that
slavery caused the Civil War. Union men mainly believed the war was to emancipate the slaves.
Confederates fought to protect southern society, and slavery as a part of it. Sectionalism refers to the
different economies, social structure, culture and customs and values of the North and South. While
the south based their economy off of slave labor and plantation agriculture, the North was urbanizing,
industrializing and had feigned slavery out of existence. Southern slaveholding states, because of their
low cost labor, had little need for industrialization. While the North highly invested in its
industrialization, could not compete with the industries of Europe in offering high prices

Four Theories Of Motivation
Over the past years different theories on motivation have been developed. These theories reach
different conclusions on what motivate employees in their workplace. Job satisfaction, motivation, and
reward systems are included in one area of organizational theory. A review of the classical literature
on motivation reveals four major theory areas:
1. Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs;
2. Herzberg s Motivation/Hygiene (two factor) Theory;
3. McGregor s X Y Theories; and
4. McClelland s Need for Assessment Theory.
Maslow states that people are motivated by unmet needs which are in a hierarchical order that
prevents people from being motivated by a need area unless all lower level needs have been met.
Herzberg states that satisfaction and dissatisfaction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The State And Economic Life
Do the people run the state? Does the state control its people? Is there an invisible hand controlling all
aspects of social and economic life or are the workings of the state and companies within the realm of
economic life completely transparent? In order to answer these questions, we will need to first define
the state, the people, and how they interact with each other like gears in a clock. These interactions
between the state and economic life can lead politicians to impose their will on the country and
market. To begin defining the relationship between the state and economic life, we will address the
works of sociologist Karl Polanyi. Polanyi, in his 1957 paper titled Trade and Market in the Early
Empires first differentiates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It relies on the ideas of choice between two, insufficient means (idea of scarcity) and using a rational
and logical decision making process to choose between the means. (Polanyi 1957) Within economies,
Polanyi concludes that there are four different modes or sectors of economical transactions. They are
reciprocity, redistribution, exchange, and householding. Following are examples of each: reciprocity
can be thought of as gift exchange and is exemplified through holidays like Christmas or doing a favor
for your friend since you believe that sometime, somehow it will be repaid back to you. Redistribution
is all about hierarchical structure and the flow of resources up and down the chain of command. A
prime example of resource redistribution would be the state and how it collects taxes, and then
redistributes those taxes following whatever preset distribution they have. Next we have
householding, which is probably the most abstract form of economy. Householding is made up of
whatever you do yourself to advance or better your life that does not require any immediate market
action such as cooking, cleaning, or childcare. The final mode of economy is exchange. Exchange
includes markets and rational actors with transactions based on a means end relationship. Exchanges
focuses on minimizing costs and maximizing benefits/profits, which is what you see

No Match For The Power Of Lobbying
Seattleites would soon find that public opinion was no match for the power of lobbying: So, an unholy

transportation begins and ends with getting commuters through it quickly), the antediluvian WSDOT,
craven Seattle City Council members, craven state legislators like Ed Murray (who sponsored the
tunnel bill and is now mayor), and head cheerleader Gregoire bullied the tunnel back onto the agenda,
and Seattle voters, sick to f ing death of arguing about it, finally voted in 2011 to allow it to go

Six years after several groups called for the shutdown of the Viaduct over the fact that it may collapse
imminently, its replacement was finally approved; the Viaduct, however, was still standing.
The construction of the tunnel started with both banging and whimpering. At the christening ceremony
of Bertha, the name of the machine designed to bore through the Seattle underground, WSDOT
communications head KaDeena Yerkan pleasantly told reporters We know exactly the path of Bertha
and what she ll encounter along the way, (Esser 1). At that time in July of 2013, the tunnel project was
expected to be completed within fourteen months. Immediately after Bertha began chugging its way
through the Seattle dirt, it ran into twin issues. First, a mechanical issue, namely a clog in the
conveyor screw; that was quickly fixed. However, a struggle for jobs between the longshoremen
unions and the building trade unions led to the longshoremen picketing the tunnel project and halting
work until late September. Washington Governor Jay Inslee, by this point the third governor since the
2001 earthquake that cracked the Viaduct, remarked, I have been increasingly frustrated by this
situation, and I know that Washingtonians feel this same frustration to the nth degree, he said Tuesday.

Integrative/ Research Essay 2
March 17, 2015
Interpretation: The Incarnation of Jesus the Christ Over 2,000 years there has been endless debates
pertaining to Jesus the Christ. The main issue is how a man can be truly divine and fully human? It
seems paradoxical because of the combination of two separate natures, but it is a unique act of
forgiveness by God. There are in fact clues to show how and, why Jesus is in fact fully divine along
with fully human. There are links that trace Jesus historically. Due to these historic biblical resources,
it makes understanding the divine subdivision of Jesus hard to understand. How does one come to
terms with the fully divine side of Jesus? Is it only mythicized biblical texts or devout faith in the
biblical tradition?
There is no definite way to prove history because there is no way to go back in time. But there are
clues within biblical text to show the humanity of Jesus. The first trace of evidence to show that Jesus
was fully human is displayed in the Gospel of John. The word became flesh (John 1:14). This is
evidence to show that Jesus took on the logos; which brings God s word, and will into humanity
directly. Indication shows that Jesus exhibited human traits such as emotion. Jesus offered up prayers
and supplications, with loud cries and tears (Hebrews 5:7) Jesus was fleshly, and maintained human
qualities that were hard to deny. More evidence that proved the incarnation of Jesus

Christine Overall and Cressida Heyes are two authors who argue whether transracial surgery is
legitimate under the condition of that transsexual surgery is acceptable. Their arguments are opposing

Overall. They both agree with that race and sex gender are socially constructed. Thus, Overall has no

they are not constructed in the same way.

Someone might point out that people who want to have the surgery for identity change, which can be
either sex or race, are not be able to make a right decision or psychologically confused. However,
Overall suggests that we have seen many people who did not have any problem in their work,
relationship, and life after the surgery. If we assume that someone wants to change his or her identity
due to a confusion, this case must be considered with oppression and discrimination that this person
has experienced. Thus, it is not correct to say that people who want to change their identity are purely
due to the mental sickness or confusion. Unlike Overall, Cressida Heyes argues that transracialism is
not reasonable, while transsexualism is. Heyes brings up Overall s statement, claiming if transsexual
surgery is morally acceptable... then transracial surgery should be morally acceptable (269). Heyes
admits that the argument of Overall is clear both sex and race are socially constructed rather than
inherited. Nonetheless, Heyes throws a question if they are constructed in the same way. Heyes would
say no since Overall s hypothetical approach is not meant to consider the history of two different
identities. She also suggests few other differences between race and sex. Heyes brings three different
points between race and sex. Firstly, she introduces One Drop Rule

Managing Remote Sales Teams Offer Unique Challenges
Awesome sales teams aren t just found in office cubicles.
A sales member might attend a CEO meeting in California, play a round of golf with an important
client in Georgia, or cold call prospective leads from an apartment in Barcelona.
Technology makes remote work more accessible. The office now encompasses different countries and
time zones.
A Stanford University research study found that employees are 13 percent more productive when
working remotely. However, managing a remote sales team isn t easy.
People work at their own pace, creating disconnection among team members. When problems occur, it
s not as simple as getting up from your desk and walking down the hall to get clarification face to
face.
Managing remote sales teams offer unique challenges, but you can overcome them. Let s explore four
ways to lead your remote team to more closed deals.
1. Set Clear Expectations
When setting expectations, sales employees are encouraged to meet higher performance levels.
A recent Gallup poll of German workers found that when a manager sets clear priorities for their
employees about 38 percent of workers feel engaged and will strive to increase their work
performance.
Establish clear expectations for your team. It provides everyone a set standard to maintain.
The benchmark should include sales objectives, specific online procedures when working on leads,
and tips for managing time more efficiently.
Sales managers must be willing to hop on a Skype call with their team.

Effects Of Political Corruption In Nigeria
Political corruption is a significant problem in Africa. Many of the regions in Africa were seeking for
independence from European nations that had caused for political views to differ. The ideas of leaders
were not all similar which may have created a majority of these countries in Africa to express their
feelings and form their own political parties. Besides wanting to be freed from European rule, the rise
of political corruption could also be faulted to the African leaders of different regions of Africa to
voice their own beliefs with the determination that it lacked unifying the nation s overall.

The transformation of politics in Nigeria fell into the trap of military rule that caused for chaos to
occur across the country. Colonial chiefs were taking positions in office which they were not qualified
for and used force and bribery to win over the people of Nigeria. The idea that Nigeria was being set
up in this form of government was misleading and did not let the people feel as though they were
independent. Regional leaders were seeking to take over local politics of this country and were able to
do so when it came to the national and local elections. When Nigeria, revamped their constitution in
the 1950s, which divided Nigeria into three different regions caused a fight to see who would control
the political party. Nigeria located in West Africa is made up of three separate cultures in the area that
lead to disunity and issues with the government. The Hausa Fulani in the north, the Yoruba in the
west, and Ibo in the east. Amongst these cultures, they started to form their political parties. There was
the National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons, the Action Group and Northern People s
Congress. The British should be held responsible for encouraging these groups to compete against one
another. The British were responsible for favoring other political parties over others that would help
create cockiness to development in the long run. The British mostly supported the N.C.N.C and

Summary Of An Den Mond No 116
Franz Schubert s An den Mond no. 176 starts with flowing chords in the piano, a five measure piano
introduction and then a soft entry of the vocal line. An den Mond no. 116 starts with no piano
introduction, rather the vocalist has the downbeat with the pianists left hand and the piece has started.
The two renditions of the An den Mond each hold very individual techniques for conveying the lieder
as well as the notes at the same time with an equally relatable tone. An de Mond No. 116 starts off
with two measure phrase pattern that continues throughout the whole piece. From the very start the
piece visually defines phrase endings as they are marked by a half note. This naturally shows a
cadence as it slows down the line and then continues with a change of thought. However, only one out
of all eight of the half note phrase endings ends up. The phrases are therefore quick but also give a
solemn downwards feel. The lieder captures this as well. The text is very calm and reflective and for
the only phrase that ends up it puts emphasis on the words at last (Measure 6). These two words so the
accomplishment of a desire that has just been filled. The words also show that there is a sadness that
comes with the lieder. An de Mond No. 116 also develops moments of romance. The romance appears
to be between the performer and a friend as the text that starts in measure nine suggests. You cast your
soothing gaze over my fields; with a friend s gentle eye, you watch over my fate.

  • 2. Hetch Hetchy Dam Valley And The Longest Debate Between... Hetch Hetchy Dam The Hetch Hetchy valley is the subject of one of the greatest and longest debates between conservationists and preservationists. In short, preservationists look to safe the great Hetch Hetchy valley from being dammed and flooded, and by doing that they prevent San Francisco people from getting what is rightfully theirs, the clean water and natural resources of the Hatch Hatchy valley and the Tuolumne River. Conservationists are on the other hand, they try to use the most of the Hetch Hetchy valley. Conservationists strongly support the Raker bill that allows the government of San Francisco to build the dam and provide the clean water to the city and county of San Francisco. Building the dam and flooding the Hetch Hetchy valley will destroy a part of the beautiful scenery replacing it with a lake, but it also tremendously increases the practical use of the Hetch Hetchy resources: it will provide electric power and the so much need water to the San Francisco district and will still provide the surrounding irrigating districts with the normal amount of water, it is the best project to solve San Francisco water problems considering the price and efficiency of the dam, and in addition it will also improve the popularity of the Hetch Hetchy and make it more accessible to the middle class people across the state. The damming and flooding the Hetch Hetchy valley will resolve the insufficiency of a water supply in San Francisco. Approving the Raker bill will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Howard Zinn Argumentative Analysis Howard Zinn argues that the state has three main purposes. They are to settle upper class disputes peacefully, control lower class rebellion, and adopt policies that would further the long range stability of the system .(Zinn Online). In the case of putting down and controlling a lower class rebellion is very prevalent in the Anti Renters rebellion. After the economic crisis of 1837 many tenants, who were now unemployed, owed money to the land lords who owned massive amounts of land. Many of the tenants came together out of fear of being evicted, and were against the monopolization of the land. When these poor tenants began to rebel, the state had to use force to suppress them, The governor sent three hundred troops in, declaring a state of rebellion existed, and soon almost a hundred Anti Renters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These laws were the perfect way for the state to make sure that the system is stable in the future. Just recently on April 2nd, the Supreme Court of the United States turned down the overall cap on monetary political donations. This is a classic case of the state adopting policies to ensure the stability of the system. Coping the scheme of citizens united the Supreme Court in a 5 4 decision allows an individual to donate as much money as they please to federal candidates in a two year election cycle. Although federal law bans direct contributions to campaigners by corporations and business, super pacs allow money to get to the politicians without direct contact. But this law still allows wealthy individuals to support the candidates that will represent their needs and wants in the national government. This creates an unfair system aimed at helping the elites because they will have more money to donate therefore will have more of the campaigners attention. Justice Breyer realized the importance of this decision being turned down and was recorded writing Where enough money calls the tune, he wrote, the general public will not be heard. • 5. Effects Of The Attack On Pequot Fort The attack on Pequot Fort was a brutal, one sided battle between the Pequot people, fellow Natives Americans, and the Englishmen. The Pequot fought very hard and stood their ground during the battle. In John Underhill s account, he mentions that he and Captain Mason set fire to the fort. This led to many deaths of the Pequot people as most of them stayed and fought through the Palisadoes. The Pequot were slowly losing the war as their warriors died and their weaponry destroyed in the flames. Those who ran from the fire were killed by the colonists themselves. Those who survived the fire and fought back were killed nonetheless. The Englishmen had advanced warfare compared to the Natives. The Colonists had swords, Carbines, and Muskets while ... • 6. Martin Luther King And Malcolm X Civil rights activists all had the same paramount goal in mind: equality for Black people in the United States. While everyone could generally agree on what they wanted fair wages, an end to segregation, voting rights the means to the end were a little fuzzy, at best. What was the best strategy to gain respect for the Black people of America, in a society that largely didn t tolerate people of color? Two major philosophies on the matter stemmed from the minds of great activists Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X. Dr. King s approach to the situation was, as always, peaceful protest, while Malcolm X promoted supporting Black business and communities, allowing them to prosper. While both approaches would bring about positive change for the Black community in the 60 s, Malcolm X s approach to the matter makes a more compelling argument by being significantly more beneficial in the long run. Both Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X agreed that boycotting white only industries was a sound method of protest against white supremacy in the economy. However, Dr. King s approach to the problem ended there. This is not to say that his boycotts weren t effective at all: according to the article provided, Operation Breadbasket have increased the income of the Negro community by more than two million dollars annually (King), showing that King s plans weren t all just idealistic nonsense, which is what Malcolm X most disagreed with in terms of political philosophy. Operation Breadbasket, the Chicago plan to boycott products from companies that refused to hire Black people and treat them fairly, succeeded temporarily. Dr. King s boycotting approach cut profits in white only industries in Chicago and forced them to hire Black people and pay them fair wages, both substantially beneficial to the Black community. Where Dr. King s plans fall short, however, is in securing this change and preventing power from slipping back into the hands of white supremacists. This is why, though a respectable approach, boycotting alone is not enough to evoke lasting, meaningful change in a community built on oppression and subjugation. Malcolm X boycotted white industry as well, but the extra steps in his plan went beyond that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Role of Human Resources Department The role of the human resources department is to maximize its expertise and knowledge to promote a diverse work environment that values service excellence, personal well being and professional development. Some of the functions of human resources are to stay compliant with labor laws, to recruit, hire and train the best qualified people to do the job. Structural Functionalism In The Animated Film Inside Out The 2015 Disney Pixar animated film Inside Out is the story of an 11 year old girl named Riley and the personified emotions that shape and control her personality. The movie is a wonderful example of the functional analysis theoretical perspective of sociology, also known as structural functionalism or, simply, functionalism, in that it illustrates a society (in this case, the young girl Riley) can maintain equilibrium only when its component parts (the emotions/characters of Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, and Anger) are each present and fulfilling their assigned functions. At the beginning of the film, Riley and her parents live in Minnesota, where she has friends, enjoys her school, is a valued member of an ice hockey team, and has an all around happy life. The movie s introduction depicts a typical day of Riley s life in Minnesota, during which all five of the emotion characters properly fulfill their functions and leave Riley in a normal state. Joy provides happiness for the young girl. Sadness provides Riley moments of comfort from her parents and emotional bonding between Riley and her parents. Fear keeps her from hurting herself by prompting a cautionary response. Likewise, Disgust and Anger fulfill their intended, beneficial roles, thereby fulfilling their manifest functions. At the end of the day, Joy congratulates her counterparts, telling them, Nice job, everybody. Another perfect day. As the story progresses, Riley and her family move from Minnesota to San Francisco, where Riley experiences culture shock. She and her family find their home to be more than a bit worn and dismal. To make matters worse, their furniture has become lost in the cross country move, and Riley s father is experiencing stress and anxiety in his job at a startup firm. Among the 34 states in January 1861, seven Southern slave states individually declared their secession from the United States of America and formed the Confederate States of America. Following are examples of each: reciprocity can be thought of as gift exchange and is exemplified through holidays like Christmas or doing a favor for your friend since you believe that sometime, somehow it will be repaid back to you. Redistribution is all about hierarchical structure and the flow of resources up and down the chain of command. A prime example of resource redistribution would be the state and how it collects taxes, and then redistributes those taxes following whatever preset distribution they have. Next we have householding, which is probably the most abstract form of economy. Householding is made up of whatever you do yourself to advance or better your life that does not require any immediate market action such as cooking, cleaning, or childcare. The final mode of economy is exchange. Exchange includes markets and rational actors with transactions based on a means end relationship. Exchanges focuses on minimizing costs and maximizing benefits/profits, which is what you see ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

No Match For The Power Of Lobbying Seattleites would soon find that public opinion was no match for the power of lobbying: So, an unholy alliance downtown business groups, large companies like Boeing (whose interest in Seattle transportation begins and ends with getting commuters through it quickly), the antediluvian WSDOT, craven Seattle City Council members, craven state legislators like Ed Murray (who sponsored the tunnel bill and is now mayor), and head cheerleader Gregoire bullied the tunnel back onto the agenda, and Seattle voters, sick to f ing death of arguing about it, finally voted in 2011 to allow it to go forward (Roberts 1). It had been somewhat of a political miracle that it had ever passed in the first place. The so called Seattle process, in which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Six years after several groups called for the shutdown of the Viaduct over the fact that it may collapse imminently, its replacement was finally approved; the Viaduct, however, was still standing. The construction of the tunnel started with both banging and whimpering. At the christening ceremony of Bertha, the name of the machine designed to bore through the Seattle underground, WSDOT communications head KaDeena Yerkan pleasantly told reporters We know exactly the path of Bertha and what she ll encounter along the way, (Esser 1). At that time in July of 2013, the tunnel project was expected to be completed within fourteen months. Immediately after Bertha began chugging its way through the Seattle dirt, it ran into twin issues. First, a mechanical issue, namely a clog in the conveyor screw; that was quickly fixed. However, a struggle for jobs between the longshoremen unions and the building trade unions led to the longshoremen picketing the tunnel project and halting work until late September. Washington Governor Jay Inslee, by this point the third governor since the 2001 earthquake that cracked the Viaduct, remarked, I have been increasingly frustrated by this situation, and I know that Washingtonians feel this same frustration to the nth degree, he said Tuesday. The Food Waste Produces Odor Food waste produces odor The previous data focus on the food waste, environmental impact based on the odor impact, greenhouse gas emissions as methane and nitrogen, food waste effect on climate change, and food waste management. According to, Tsai et al., report the investigating the critical odors of the emission from food waste composting plants and their human olfactory effect in general concentration ranges presented by olfactometric results. The article determines that the critical odors were made by the analysis of multiple compounds in odor samples collected inside and outside the plants using gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC MS) and gas detector tubes. The results of the study indicated that six critical odors were found in the fields consists of Ethylbenzene, Dimethylsulfide, Trimethylamine, p cymene, ammonia, and acetic acid. The result found the Ethylbenzene, Dimenthylsulfide, Trimethylamine and p cymene are the lower amount on odorant criteria but high concentrate of gas emission. While ammonia is non correlate on concentration, acetic acid is the lowest concentration but significant on odorant. Trimethylamine is the best critical odorant on the greenhouse gas emission. The study, discussion didn t study only indicated the specific olfactory effect patterns for the critical odors emitted from food waste composting plants, but provided the practical information for the odor control engineering to judge the elimination priority. • 30. The Incarnation Of Jesus The Christ Christopher Davis THE380 Christ Church Integrative/ Research Essay 2 March 17, 2015 Interpretation: The Incarnation of Jesus the Christ Over 2,000 years there has been endless debates pertaining to Jesus the Christ. The main issue is how a man can be truly divine and fully human? It seems paradoxical because of the combination of two separate natures, but it is a unique act of forgiveness by God. There are in fact clues to show how and, why Jesus is in fact fully divine along with fully human. There are links that trace Jesus historically. Due to these historic biblical resources, it makes understanding the divine subdivision of Jesus hard to understand. How does one come to terms with the fully divine side of Jesus? Is it only mythicized biblical texts or devout faith in the biblical tradition? There is no definite way to prove history because there is no way to go back in time. But there are clues within biblical text to show the humanity of Jesus. The first trace of evidence to show that Jesus was fully human is displayed in the Gospel of John. The word became flesh (John 1:14). This is evidence to show that Jesus took on the logos; which brings God s word, and will into humanity directly. Indication shows that Jesus exhibited human traits such as emotion. Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears (Hebrews 5:7) Jesus was fleshly, and maintained human qualities that were hard to deny. Their arguments are opposing to each other. Overall insists that both surgeries should be acceptable while Heyes does not agree with Overall. They both agree with that race and sex gender are socially constructed. Thus, Overall has no problem with the concept of identity changes for both sex gender and race however, Heyes argues that they are not constructed in the same way. Christine Overall is advocating the claim that transracial surgery is not problematic if transsexual surgery is acceptable. She brings possible arguments and discusses them against rejecters of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Someone might point out that people who want to have the surgery for identity change, which can be either sex or race, are not be able to make a right decision or psychologically confused. However, Overall suggests that we have seen many people who did not have any problem in their work, relationship, and life after the surgery. If we assume that someone wants to change his or her identity due to a confusion, this case must be considered with oppression and discrimination that this person has experienced. Thus, it is not correct to say that people who want to change their identity are purely due to the mental sickness or confusion. Unlike Overall, Cressida Heyes argues that transracialism is not reasonable, while transsexualism is. Heyes brings up Overall s statement, claiming if transsexual surgery is morally acceptable... then transracial surgery should be morally acceptable (269). Heyes admits that the argument of Overall is clear both sex and race are socially constructed rather than inherited. Nonetheless, Heyes throws a question if they are constructed in the same way. Heyes would say no since Overall s hypothetical approach is not meant to consider the history of two different identities. She also suggests few other differences between race and sex. Heyes brings three different points between race and sex. Firstly, she introduces One Drop Rule ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Colonial chiefs were taking positions in office which they were not qualified for and used force and bribery to win over the people of Nigeria. The idea that Nigeria was being set up in this form of government was misleading and did not let the people feel as though they were independent. Regional leaders were seeking to take over local politics of this country and were able to do so when it came to the national and local elections. When Nigeria, revamped their constitution in the 1950s, which divided Nigeria into three different regions caused a fight to see who would control the political party. An den Mond no. 116 starts with no piano introduction, rather the vocalist has the downbeat with the pianists left hand and the piece has started. The two renditions of the An den Mond each hold very individual techniques for conveying the lieder as well as the notes at the same time with an equally relatable tone. An de Mond No. 116 starts off with two measure phrase pattern that continues throughout the whole piece. From the very start the piece visually defines phrase endings as they are marked by a half note. This naturally shows a cadence as it slows down the line and then continues with a change of thought. However, only one out of all eight of the half note phrase endings ends up. The phrases are therefore quick but also give a solemn downwards feel. The lieder captures this as well. The text is very calm and reflective and for the only phrase that ends up it puts emphasis on the words at last (Measure 6). These two words so the accomplishment of a desire that has just been filled. The words also show that there is a sadness that comes with the lieder. An de Mond No. 116 also develops moments of romance. The romance appears to be between the performer and a friend as the text that starts in measure nine suggests.
