Offshoring Benefits
Many business executives believe offshoring to be the destiny of any company that wants to remain
competitive. Labor costs can be reduced by 25 30% or more, and companies across the country are
doing it. How can responsible corporate officers not consider the offshoring option for their
companies? But what are the real benefits and the pitfalls of offshoring? When does it make sense to
pursue outsourcing, and how can you safely take advantage of lower cost resources in other countries
without risk or loss of quality?
Background:
Moving jobs to cheaper work forces is nothing new. Even as recently as a few decades ago, significant
segments of the manufacturing sector were transferred to locations such as Mexico, where labor was
cheaper. Although ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Know what you want to accomplish and how much it should cost you.
Β· Offshore non critical functions: Maintain the integrity of your core competencies by offshoring only
non critical functions. And start small. Just as you wouldn t jump in too deeply with a domestic
company before gaining some history and confidence in the company, so should you be similarly
cautious with offshoring partners.
Β· Know what to offshore: Software development, data entry, and transaction processing have been
successful; customer service and voice interaction are more risky.
Β· Choose the right location: The type of work being outsourced will influence the location. India has
gained a reputation for software development. Between 2003 and 2004 it has seen over a 30% growth
in software and IT service exports, and by the year ending in March, 2004, Indian companies have
earned $12.5 billion in technology exports. But India is not the only source of reliable but inexpensive
labor. Countries such as China, the Philippines, Romania, Argentina, and even Ghana and Ireland are
all centers for offshore operations of various

Civil Liberties And Airport Security
Are the civil liberties of the citizens of the United States sacrificed during the airport security checks
with the use of body scanners for the sake of national security? This week thousands of Americans
will board airplanes to head to their Thanksgiving destinations, and they will need to undergo several
security checks in order to advance to their flight. Since September 11, 2001, the vulnerability and
fear arose in the United States citizens about the security tactics in place to protect our nation. One
area of concern was the airport security measures that allowed al Qaeda and their associates to take
control of United State s airplanes to carry out their plan of attack. The fear of another terrorist attack
taking place on the airplanes resulted in extraordinary security tactics immediately emerging to protect
the citizens. Further instances of other threats required more advanced security equipment to be
installed, such as the body scanners. Statistics revealed there were an estimated 793 scanners (full
body scanners) in use in March 2016 in more than 157 airports in the United States (Jansen). All of
these security measures have taken place with the expense of sacrificing civil liberties. Although, the
body scanners were developed to protect the people, the civil liberties of the United States citizens are
sacrificed for the sake of national security through invasion of privacy, inefficiencies, misuse, and
expense.
To begin, in general, civil liberties are

Frankenstein Vensor Frankenstein And The Modern Prometheus...
Titan or Theif In Greek Mythology, there is a tale where a Titan named Prometheus stole fire from the
gods and put it in the clay to make man. Like in the Greek Mythology, Mary Shelley has Victor
Frankenstein steal life from nature. As Mary Shelley states in the title of her book Frankenstein, or the
Modern Prometheus, she parallels Victor Frankenstein to the Titan Prometheus. As Mary Shelley
states in Frankenstein the pursuit of unknown knowledge is dangerous. So much has been done... I
will pioneer a new way, explain unknown powers, and unfold to the world the deepest mysteries of
creation( Chapter 3). . This quote means that Victor wants to explore dangerous areas that should not
be explored. Dangerous and unknown knowledge ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prometheus punishment for stealing fire from the Greeks Gods was an eternal hell where a bird will
rip out his liver daily for eternity. For Victor Frankenstein, his punishment was similar to Prometheus
s. For Victor Frankenstein, his punishment was similar to Prometheus s. He too suffered daily as a
reminder of what he did. Victor Frankenstein s punishment is also similar to Prometheus because he
too has something ripped away from him. Prometheus had his liver ripped away and Victor
Frankenstein had his love ones taken away from him. Both Prometheus and Victor Frankenstein suffer
by playing God, . Prometheus crafts man while Victor crafts the daemon. In Paradise Lost by John
Milton, Satan and his legion of followers were cast out of Heaven and put into Hell. Satan was cast
out because he challenged the authority of God. Like Victor Frankenstein and Prometheus the Titan,
Satan did something that caused him to lose his title. Victor Frankenstein was a smart young man that
had a lot of promise and potential. He lost all of it because he tampered with nature s authority.
Prometheus was a powerful Titan that stole the right to make life from Zeus; he too stole the power
from a higher authority. All three characters, Satan, Prometheus, and Victor, ended up in their own
personal Hell. For Satan, he was thrown out of Heaven and was chained to the burning lake in Hell.

The Physics Of Our Science Classes
In the 21st, in our science classes, we are taught to believe that our world is actually made up of
particles as the smallest constituents of matter. We are told that particles behave like waves because it
makes no sense to teach that a particle moves faster than the speed of light, that particles can cause
interference with one another, among other ridiculous things that we just never imagine a particle to
do. What we are not told is that we never had to think about the smallest elements of matter, also
known as, quanta, as particles. Instead, we can describe quanta as being excitations of fields, i.e.,
waves. There is no supporting evidence that a wave can behave like a particle, the evidence only
points to experiments evaluating the data using wrong techniques, and assuming that a particle was in
the place of a wave. I. Introduction Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The
important thing is not to stop questioning. Einstein Every day, thousands of people go to class and
learn. If you visited a class taught before Albert Einstein s Theory of Special Relativity was popular,
your professor might have taught you that there was some magical ether that explained away Newton
s classical equations of motion. But as years went on, Einstein s idea caught on and now we are taught
that there is no ether we proved it through thorough experiments. Unfortunately for those who don t
want to give up the current equivalent of a magical ether, wave/particle

Essay on Campaign Finance Issues
GENERAL BACKGROUND INFORMATION
We are not a democracy, yet we do have a voice in our own government. Elections are the choice
microphones for many citizens. There on Election Day, they have the right of making their voices
heard; however, many interest groups and a few individuals seem to have a louder voice due to
campaign financing:
No U.S. official should be beholden to one or a few groups. And no group or individual should have a
greater claim on our elected leaders than any other. That s the way it should work. But it is growing
clear to more and more Americans that it doesn t (McCarthy 24).
Recently, it has been the trend to try to make sure the opinions and concerns of minorities are duly
noted and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Money is the most degrading, corrupting force in American politics today (McCarthy xi).
The idea behind fundraising for elections was a success at first, giving donors another way to voice
their opinions and open up the doors for communication once the elected officials fully realized who
they owed their position to. However, this went too far. Those whose candidate did not win were left
with an official who will accept the ideas of a past donor before any others. This favoritism, while
beneficial to certain donors, proves damaging to others. Also, when before, all donated and spoke their
mind, now only certain groups and people donate and not even all of them speak their mind. The
individual doesn t count anymore (McCarthy 25).
THE HYPOTHESIS
Now that I have given about three pages of background information on the political processes, now
would be a good time to introduce my Representative. Ken Bentsen represents the 25TH District of
Texas. He is a democrat and has served as representative since 1991. I actually have a few theories
regarding the reasons he voted the way he did and why certain groups financially supported his
campaign. Scholars for thousands of years have pondered the question of whether it was the chicken
or the egg, which came first. In the case of campaigning and finance, such seems to be the question.
Because voters had the opportunity of watching his career before 1996, it s practically impossible to
be able to tell

Misfolded Prion (CJD)
It has been considered to be one of the most mysterious diseases scientists are fighting so far. With no
effective treatment or research on the disease, it has a 100% fatality rate, however fortunately for us,
the disease is extremely rare with only 2 cases and deaths since 2008. The disease is caused by an
abnormal and infectious protein in the brain called a prion. Normally, prions are used to help transmit
messages between certain brain cells. They use protein folding which is beginning as a string of amino
acids and folding themselves into a 3 D shape. However, CJD causes mistakes in the process, which
causes misfolded prion proteins to spread, whereas a healthy person s body easily recycles them. As

infection rate, has from October 1996 to March 2011, caused 175 cases of VCJD in the U.K, 25 in
France, 5 in Spain, 4 in Ireland, 3 in the U.S, 2 in Canada, Italy, Portugal, and one in Japan, Saudi
Arabia, and Taiwan. vCJD on average affects people in their twenties and sporadic, however sporadic
or sCJD can affect people in their late sixties. CJD can affect any gender and race, however vCJD is
contacted by consuming infected meat products(such as BSE in beef) and the cause for sCJD is
actually unknown on what truly causes it. CJD or more to be more specific, BSE first appeared in the
U.K in 1986. It first spread to cows, but when people began consuming the infected beef, BSE
developed into CJD, or vCJD the human equivalent of Mad Cow Disease. Eventually vCJD hit its
peak in January 1993 with 1,000 new cases being reported each week in Britain. In December
23,2003, it was discovered that a case of BSE was discovered in an infected cow in Washington State.
From there on, Countries such as Japan, Korea, China, Canada, U.K, U.S, and Europe initiate large
safeguards to prevent the disease from entering the human food chain. The disease raised awareness of

Persuasive Essay About Fire
Ever heard of a story of a little boy discovering fire for the first time? Well this little boy s mom had a
lighter that had a dolphin design on it and it was used as a decoration piece. So, the little boy found the
lighter and started to play with it and got it to work. He then proceeded to go into the bathroom so his
mom did not know what he was doing. The little boy started to put it up to stuff to see what would
happen. The first thing he grabbed was hairspray. He played with the hairspray and the lighter. He then
managed to light the toilet paper on fire which caused the whole bathroom to catch on fire. The boy s
mom ran into the bathroom and started to put out the fire and when it was out she found him in his
room curled up in a ball holding his thumb because he had burned it. This little boy should have
learned a valuable lesson that day. That lesson is that fire is nothing to mess with. Many people do not
realize the risk of playing or not being careful with fire especially in forest and dry plains.
Here is something to think about, being irresponsible around fire can cause someone to get hurt or it
could cause people to lose their home. In 2002 there was four hundred and sixty five homes destroyed
in Arizona because of wild fires (Kennedy and Johnson). Homes could be saved if forest fires did
happen because of humans. A lot of forest fires are started by humans. As many as Ninety percent of
wildland fires in the United States are caused by humans. Some

Hart Team America
Ms. Hart and a student on Team America were both assessing a mathematical expression which
consists of dividing decimals: 146.4 Γ· 0.32. Bewildered at the difficulty of the problem, they each
evaluated the expression. However, the student had analyzed a differentiated solution. Most students
would directly assume that Ms. Hart, as a teacher, would have the correct resolution. On the contrary,
the student claimed she was accurate. Who will stand corrected? In order to precisely evaluate an
expression involving the division of decimals, there are certain steps to ensure success:
If the divisor is not a whole number, move decimal point to the right to make it a whole number and
move decimal point in dividend the same number of places.
Divide as usual.

Hart and the student s work, the miscalculation is pointed out. The student has correctly analyzed the
first step. Conversely, the teacher mistakenly divided 146.4 by 100 instead of multiplication, placing
one of the main components of her expression to be 1.464 incorrect. This affects every step after,
although the operation and method used is correct. Nevertheless, the student may still be wrong as
well.
Continuing the process of evaluating the expression, the next step is to divide as usual. Following the
standard process of dividing whole numbers, the exact quotient received should be 457.5. With step 3
already done, the final action would be to check the answer. That can be done with the inverse
operation of division, multiplication. 457.5 Γ— 0.32 = 146.4. This proves that 457.5 is the error free,
precise quotient.
Evidently supported by a carefully checked run through of the steps needed, the student has received
the honor of evaluating the expression accurately. Ms. Hart had erroneously used the wrong equation
on step 1. Everyone makes mistakes! This depicts how using the right strategy and checking after each
move can lead to conquering the expression and a genius, mathematical

The Theme Of Bondage And Freedom
The Theme of Bondage and Freedom in African American Literature Shayla Carew Liberty University
Author Note: Shayla Carew, Master s of Teaching and Learning English program, Liberty University.
Contact: scarew@liberty.edu Abstract Black history is significant not only as a part of the black
community, but as a critical part of American history for all races and genders. Because of the
importance of the history of African Americans, Black History Month is celebrated annually. During
this special time of remembrance, people of different races take time to reflect on the historical events
that not only shaped the history of African Americans, but the history of America. There are a variety
of methods used in comprehending black history. Reading African American literature allows readers
to gain a higher quality understanding of the events that shaped black history. This paper will closely
examine the theme of bondage and freedom, which is a prominent theme in African American
literature that speaks volumes about black history. Introduction Due to recent events, black history has
been frequently discussed. For many African Americans, the racial tensions being exemplified today
bring back painful memories in the history of black people. An enormous fraction of black history
involves the subject of bondage and freedom the African slaves experienced. Understanding how far
the African American people have come is important in comprehending the feelings

How Did The Serfs Affect Feudal Society
Serfs had a place in the feudal system as a low class peasant. Serfs made up the majority of the
medieval population, doing grueling work. Serfs made up most of the population, with a whopping
90%! The population was a larger amount of serfs than knights. Serfs were also known as farmers,
meaning they gave food and crops to villagers. The crops would help sustain them for a long time, and
only a few serfs were strong enough to work in the fields and harvest them, for most serfs caught the
Black Plague. The serfs caught Black Plague from fleas in the fields (King 4). Serfs were bound to
land that the lord owned. The serfs provided their own food and clothing from his work. Along with
feeding himself, he had to give a portion to the lord ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Salisbury Oath was an example of how the feudal society worked. The oath wasn t a massive
change in the feudal society, but it did have some effect on services. The feudal oath changed slightly.
In feudal law, the members of society still had the same social classes. The oaths kept the feudal
systems in tact. The oaths were helpful to members of society because they had said that each worker
had to do his job in the medieval village and they usually used a sacred oath to God (Birney 85).
Feudalism already existed in England at the time, but became stronger and stronger under each oath
made. Changes in law were to be expected, like changes in taxing, military service and even a shift of
power was made sometimes. The idea of feudalism had begun long before members of society
realized (Birney 84). The Salisbury Oath was not necessarily a feudal oath. England practiced
feudalism, so all tenants acknowledge a supreme member as their monarch. The members strived for a
strong, feudal government, so William created an oath that was an expansion on feudalism (Birney
85). In feudal times, Oaths were the only source of agreement. Even the relationship between the
feudal lord and the vassal was based on oaths. The Lord made an oath to protect the vassal s family if
anything should happen, and the vassal made an oath to the lord that he would fight with all the effort
possible (Conference Page 2). The many, oaths and agreements between kings and vassals was
considered a reciprocal relationship. Oaths also kept the Military in tact, causing knights and vassals
to dedicate their full service to the feudal lord. Without the oaths, the military would crumble, leading
to a downfall of feudalism (Conference Page 2). The oaths and agreements were a severe part of
feudalism, causing a stronger

Reflection Paper On Thanksgiving
Every Year exactly one week before thanksgiving my entire family comes over for dinner at our
house. We all sit down and eat thanksgiving food while we talk about our plans for the rest of the year.
Most of my family look alike, they all have brown hair and brown eyes. My brother, Brandon, and I
were an exception, we have green eyes and long dark brown hair, I never thought about it too much,
my mom always told us that we were special. As we enjoyed our dinner and laughed lightning struck
and the power went out. Everyone stay calm, my mom said in the room of complete silence. There
was a gleaming light under the table, I reached out to touch it, do to my curiosity. As my hand
approached the light the power came back on.
I was staring at the exact place where the light appeared when my aunt called after my dad, Mike!
Mike! Where are you!, everyone in the room began to panick. My mom didn t seem worried that my
dad was miraculously missing. Dinner is over everyone! Not to worry Mike is upstairs right now
enjoying a nap, it was great seeing you all have a nice night, Everyone calmed down to the sound of
my mom s soothing voice. Everyone began to get up and leave one by one. My mom closed the door
behind everyone and turned around, her face quickly transformed to the way everyone reacted when
they though my dad was missing. What s wrong mom, is everything ok, I asked genuinely afraid of
the answer.

Trust In The Medical Field Research Paper
What is trust and why does it seem so important in the medical field? Well trust is where you expose
your vulnerabilities to people, but believing they will not take advantage of your openness. Therefore
in the medical field, patients tend to trust their doctors in the diagnosis used to cure them. However,
there are many situations when the patient does not trust the doctor and disregards their opinion. One
topic that was discussed in class was about hypochondriac. Hypochondriacs are individuals who are
abnormally anxious about their health. These individuals are known to spend a lot of time in the
doctor s office because they are distressed about any physical or psychological symptoms they detect,
no matter how minor the symptom may be.

In the book Paper Towns Quentin, Ben, Radar, and Lacy decide to go on a road trip to New York

Radar was most surprised because he created Omnictionary and did not know about. However, the

The Responses of Japan and Australia on Population Aging
As time goes on, more and more countries come into population aging period. Population aging means
the ratio of 65 years or above is over 7%, or the ratio of 60 years old or above is over 10%. Japan has
the most serious aging problem in the world, and as predicted, after several decades there will be no
Japanese populations without taking response measures. Australia also faces with the population aging
problem during recent several years. Aging will lead to the declining of economic growth and the
increasing of pension burden. This essay focuses on comparing the similarities and differences of the

Those aged above 65 have enlarged from 26.5 million in 2006 to 29.47 million in 2011 (Yoshiko,
2015). By the end of this decade, for each child under 15 years old, he has to support three pensioners
(Patrick, 2010). The birth rate of Japan drops a lot since the 21st century, so the children and working
aged cohorts experience a sharp decrease, and the elder experience a sharp increase. Ministry of
Health, Labor and Welfare (2011) believes that after a few years, the first group of the baby boomers
will reach their retirement age, which will cause a great increase in the debt, deficits, and deflation of
Japanese government. In order to support its aging population, Japan has to increase its workforce and
productivity. With Japan losing its workforce gradually, it is hard to keep its status as an economic
superpower.
The aged 65 and older population in Australia is about 2.5 million in 2002, which covers about 12
percent of the total population of Australia. However, the number is predicted to increase to about 4.2
million in 2021, which covers about 18 percent of the total Australian population (Department of

Differences in Crime Statistics in the Uniform Crime...
Arguments over crime statistics have been raging ever since governments began counting criminal
activity. In 1930 the United States congress authorized the attorney general of the United States to
survey crime in America. The Federal Bureau of Investigation was chosen to implement the program.
(Schmalleger p.38)
The Uniform Crime Reports is the survey taken by the FBI. This measure of crime in America
depends on reports to the police by victims of crimes. The UCR Program was developed by the FBI
for the purpose of serving law enforcement as a tool for operational and administrative purposes.
Through the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the UCR Program was developed.

Arson is an exception to the Hierarchy Rule . One of the problems with the Uniform Crime Reports is
that many citizens do not always make official reports. For example, many women refuse to report
rapes because they do not want to relive the ordeal. Some citizen s feel that the police will not be able
to do anything about a crime committed against them therefore they do not report it. Another problem
with the Uniform Crime Reports is that Victimless crimes are rarely reported. These are crimes like
prostitution, gambling, and drug use. Since many of these crimes are not reported, then the UCR
becomes somewhat vague and incomplete.
When reviewing crime data, it is important for the reader to note the difference between offenses and
arrests. Offenses relate to events and arrests relate to persons. A single offense may involve no
arrestees; may involve one arrestee; or may involve many arrestees. National Crime Victimization

victimization in the United States. The survey reports the likelihood of victimization by rape, sexual

Brazil Essay
The name Brazil comes from Pau Brasil. There are around 145 million people living in Brazil, most of
them near the coast. The population is growing rapidly and half of all Brazilians are under the age of
20. By the end of the century, it is estimated that Brazil s population will have reached 180 million.
Brazil borders on ten other Latin
American countries. Most of the northern part of Brazil is low lying and veined by the mighty
Amazon River and its tributaries. The Amazon is the largest river in the world.
The native peoples of Brazil lived in the forests and along the rivers, hunting, fishing, and gathering
fruits and nuts.

The average Brazilian has a fascinating family tree which may include a Portuguese great grandfather,
a native Indian grandmother, a slave grandfather, a German father, and so on. Family ties are strong in
Brazil. Three generations, including grandparents and young married couples, often live together in
one house. Poorer families are frequently large, with five or six children, and grandparents look after
the very young while the rest of the family work. There is a wide gap between rich and poor. The
wealthy live in luxury mansions or on vast estates, employ maids and gardeners, and enjoy the same
consumer goods as any family in the developed world. Homes for the poor are shacks of cardboard
and corrugated iron, furnished with the barest essentials and mostly without water, light, or sanitation.
The extreme poverty in the urban slums, the high unemployment, and the increasing numbers leaving
rural areas for the cities have led to serious problems. The poorest people suffer most because the state
cannot provide for them, but children who About 90 percent of Brazil s population belong to the

Transition To Total War
Total war breaks down the line separating combatants and non combatants through a series of
ideological and social justifications that allowed for barbaric acts to be committed. A war becomes
total when the nation itself must dedicate every facet of its existence as a state to the war effort. The
general population being brought into the war effort brings to question their innocence, thus making
them targets for the enemy. The transition from a small scale war into a total war is a gradual process,
as adjusting a nation s economy and society to feed the war is a long and difficult process.
The transition to total war depends mainly on the length of the war and the number of casualties. A
short war would not require the kind of resources and civilian support that an expansive war would
require. The Great War is often cited as being the first total war, and that is clear through the
population s view of the war as well as the soldier s. A total war can only happen if nationalism and
patriotism are high and on nearly all fronts nationalism is what rooted the soldiers in the trenches and
gave them the determination. Nationalism also gave the non combatants on the home front a reason to
support the war in other ways.
From the start this war was a different type than the cabinet style wars that were fought in the past ...

The Five-Factor Personality Inventory
The research used the Five Factor Personality Inventory (FFPI) to contribute to the validity of it, in
three different aspects: generalizability and reliability, construct validity, and predictive validity.
Overall, 249 participants, 120 males and 129 females, were separate into three different sample
groups. The first sample consisted of 23 psychology students who completed the self ratings. Each of
the 23 students was asked to contact five people who knew them well; this made the second sample.
The second sample was asked to rate themselves and the person who contacted them. Each member of
the second sample was asked to contact a friend that did not belong to the first nor second sample. The

Role Of Artificial Intelligence
What role could Artificial Intelligence play in the lives of people in America throughout the upcoming
generations? Intelligence is the potential to gain and use knowledge and skills. Therefore, artificial
intelligence is the development of computer systems to potentially gain and use knowledge and skills
in their environment and surroundings. In the slides on my group s presentation, you will see the
example(s) of artificial intelligence. Some people are excited and hope that A.I. will develop into a
human functioning machine. However, there are people who are skeptical and don t like the idea of
machinery and technology developing into a human functioning machine. Personally, I have a
love/hate relationship with the idea of artificial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the story of the Tower of Babel, God responds to humanity s construction of a tower tall enough to
reach heaven by confusing their languages to inhibit their progress. No gods will save us because there
are no gods unless we become gods. The story is a pretty big warning against becoming too
technologically capable, said Jason Stellman and Christian Kingery, former pastors who host a
philosophical comedy podcast called Drunk Ex Pastors. As far as Christianity is concerned, the
singularity probably wouldn t go over too well with God. As it is clearly stated here, God is not too
fond of people trying to be him . If artificial intelligence is developed into human like machines, will
they then be able to practice religion? In christianity, children of god have souls and these are what are
saved. So if artificial intelligence develops and is able to think for itself, how will they play into
religion such as practicing or being saved by god. If you create other things that think for themselves,
a serious theological disruption will occur (Merritt, a senior columnist for Religion News Service). As
what is said here in Merritt s article, issues will arise. Differences in opinion about religion has caused
wars before, so what s to say the development of A.I. would not cause a religious war based on
whether or not A.I. should be allowed to practice it?

Renaissance And The Renaissance Era
Renaissance The Renaissance era was a time of great change in music, art, literature, and science. The
Renaissance, which lasted from the 1300 s to the 1600 s began in Italy and spread throughout other
countries to England, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain. During this time, there was a great
deal of agricultural economy and the church were dominate and transform society. The word
Renaissance come from the Latin word meaning rebirth. During the Renaissance period many artists
studied art of Ancient Greece and Rome. Frenchmen Jules Michelet was the first to employ this term
and put it into his own personal use. Many artists wanted to bring the spirit back to Greek and Roman
through their art work. The Renaissance was known as a period of rebirth of these cultures and began
as the Middle Ages were coming to an end. Leaders of the Renaissance did not agree with many of the
ideas of the Middle Ages as artwork and learning during this era focused on primarily religion and
spirituality. However, many Renaissance artists began to broaden their imagination, study other
cultures and their way of life. Leaders believed that Greeks and Romans had a better understanding of
people and behavior as far as problems were concerned. Renaissance thinkers, infatuated with the
Greek and Romans, often times copied their style of work, as the thirst for their culture grew.

Essay On A Trip
On this weekend, we had the Haa field trip. This trip is the most dangerous experience I have had
during the time I spent in Bhutan. We left RTC compass on Friday morning. The way to Haa took us 4
hours, relatively short compared to the trip to Gasa, but it s still exhausting. We first visited Tshewang
s home in Haa. He told us his family travelled a lot in the previous time. They will travel with all the
life supplies and animals they have. The animals include horses and cows. These animals eat grasses
really fast, and they always need to travel in order to eat. I guess the life they had before was very
tough, yet it is just a feeling not until we experienced it ourselves. After leaving Tshewang s house,
our next plan is to camp on the mountain and to hike on the next day. On the way to the ... Show more

there will be more rain we saw the sun. I then missed the trip to the cattle farm. I believed the most
important thing for a trip is to be safe. When we face the nature, we are so powerless without the
protection of technology and knowledge. Not long, the group returned back and we decided to stay at
Tshewang s home for the rest one and half days. We had another tough trip getting back. However, we
survived. I appreciate the experience that we had. It makes me realized the easy life we have right
now. Yet, I still suggest the Haa trip to be cancelled in the future, or the travellers should be prepared

Big King Meaning
A large chair does not make a king. This proverb s origin is Sudanese. The meaning of this proverb is
that just because somebody holds a high position does not mean that the rule the world or the best.
This proverb fits society s beliefs today because many people that hold high positions think they re the
best and that they can boss a bunch of people around and that they cannot be told what to do.
Therefore, the meaning of A large chair does not make a king. Is that just because you hold a high
position does not mean someone rules the world. Therefore, the meaning of a large chair does not

to rule our country. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have both stated extremely rude things at the

speaker Paul Ryan or asking voters to support U.S. Senate Ron Johnson in his re election campaign.
(DeFour and Beck) They both are extremely rude. Just because they think they hold a high position
(which neither of them do just quite yet), does not mean that that they are good and should rule the
country. Everyone can agree that the candidates this year really could not get any worse than what it
is. Trump downplayed polling showing Clinton ahead in Wisconsin, claimed The media is an

PTSD Among Vietnam Veterans Essay
The majority of Vietnam veterans experienced delayed or chronic PTSD which we know now, can
remain dormant for years until symptoms are triggered. According to the Vietnam Veterans
Readjustment Study, approximately 30.9% of men and 26.9% of women soldiers in Vietnam had
PTSD at some point in their lives. (P8) Lifting these requirements from the DSM III allowed many
more veterans to step forward; and with this new massive population of test subjects scientists were
able to research the dynamics, variables, and patterns of PTSD, through the advancements of
neuroimaging and neuroscience. (P9) There were many more cases of PTSD among Vietnam veterans
than any other war. (P5) A number estimated to be near 500,000. (P11) Plasmodium falciparum ...

amnesia which can be found is both illnesses. Because this particular stand of malaria effects the brain
it is easily identified with or mimic the symptoms of a psychological illness. A staff neuropsychologist
at Iowa City VA Medical Center, Dr. Varney, found evidence in his research that suggests many
veterans suffering from symptoms of PTSD might actually be exhibiting long term effects of cerebral
malaria. In one of his studies he found that ... cerebral malaria survivors exhibit symptoms such as
depression, personality change, feelings of subjective distress, impaired memory, emotional instability,
and seizures that were still problematic 15 20 years after the malaria illness had been treated. (P18)

Controlling Demand Through Pricing
Controlling Demand through Pricing: A report on the quantitative analysis of the ChocoMint bar
Introduction
ChocoMint is a bar of chocolate under ChocoHeaven, which is a distributor of organic chocolate. In
recent years, the business of ChocoMint bar encountered some problems. Since the ChocoMint bar is
manufactured overseas, the supply chain could be unreliable. Besides, as ChocoMint is stored at
special storage locations in the UK, the storage capacity for this kind of product in the UK is limited.
Therefore, in order to prevent the storage from exceeding the company s storage capacity limits, as
well as reduce the risk from supply chain (relying less on the overseas supply chain), sales department

It is not a suitable model for the data that beyond its specific range of domain. Usually, the valid range
of domain of a linear equation is quite narrow when it is applied to practical problem. Finally, linear
models are typically based on a set of assumptions such as the requirement of simplification of the
data. They are not really suitable models for those data with complex context.
4.2 A more appropriate model
In the case of ChocoMint bar, the hyperbolic model might be more appropriate.
Figure4.2 hyperbolic relationship between monthly demand for ChocoMint and relative prices
y = 836.78x 0.854 RΒ² = 0.8488 R = 0.9213
4.3 Justification of the hyperbolic model s higher suitability
Firstly, compared with the linear model, the value of correlation R of this hyperbolic model is closer to
1. Thus, it indicates that the hyperbolic model represents the relationship between the price and
monthly demand much better.
Secondly, in the linear model, it shows that when the price decreases to 0 (which means the
ChocoMint bar is free), there is a limited demand for ChocoMint bar. However, the demand for free
goods are usually infinite in practice, which is exactly demonstrated by the hyperbolic model. As the
hyperbolic graph above indicates, when the price is approaching zero, the graph does not intercept the
y axis. On the contrast, it is infinitely close to y axis with increasing values of monthly demand, which

The US Housing Market Bubble
When researching past economic recoveries, the housing market is the one to drive the economy out
of recession. That being said, this economic recession hasn t had much of an impact until recently.
America s housing boom had a tremendous influence on the economy for its low prices and flow of
new home construction.
The new construction market in the mid 2000 s was flourishing. People saw building a home as an
opportunity for a solid investment because prices and rates were so low that certain homes could
depreciate extremely slowly. However, there would be a negative effect from all this low cost new
construction and few were aware of just how devastating it would be to the new construction market.
In 2005, the market was flooded with a vast array of homes that were all selling at a low price, and
this allowed people to buy and sell homes with minimal effort. Banks were being reckless with their
lending, not giving enough attention to who they were giving mortgages to, as virtually anybody with
a decent credit score could go to a bank and get a mortgage, sometimes without even going to see if
the land and ability for development was there. This created a housing bubble in 2006, and would
inevitably come back to hurt a wide range of industries, but few were as damaged as the new
construction industry.
Once things started to get bad, they got really bad for a lot of families who were given mortgages, who
were not properly qualified. There was a major spike in defaults, with

  • 2. Offshoring Benefits Many business executives believe offshoring to be the destiny of any company that wants to remain competitive. Labor costs can be reduced by 25 30% or more, and companies across the country are doing it. How can responsible corporate officers not consider the offshoring option for their companies? But what are the real benefits and the pitfalls of offshoring? When does it make sense to pursue outsourcing, and how can you safely take advantage of lower cost resources in other countries without risk or loss of quality? Background: Moving jobs to cheaper work forces is nothing new. Even as recently as a few decades ago, significant segments of the manufacturing sector were transferred to locations such as Mexico, where labor was cheaper. Although ... Β· Offshore non critical functions: Maintain the integrity of your core competencies by offshoring only non critical functions. And start small. Just as you wouldn t jump in too deeply with a domestic company before gaining some history and confidence in the company, so should you be similarly cautious with offshoring partners. Β· Know what to offshore: Software development, data entry, and transaction processing have been successful; customer service and voice interaction are more risky. Β· Choose the right location: The type of work being outsourced will influence the location. India has gained a reputation for software development. Between 2003 and 2004 it has seen over a 30% growth in software and IT service exports, and by the year ending in March, 2004, Indian companies have earned $12.5 billion in technology exports. But India is not the only source of reliable but inexpensive labor. Countries such as China, the Philippines, Romania, Argentina, and even Ghana and Ireland are all centers for offshore operations of various ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Civil Liberties And Airport Security Are the civil liberties of the citizens of the United States sacrificed during the airport security checks with the use of body scanners for the sake of national security? This week thousands of Americans will board airplanes to head to their Thanksgiving destinations, and they will need to undergo several security checks in order to advance to their flight. Since September 11, 2001, the vulnerability and fear arose in the United States citizens about the security tactics in place to protect our nation. One area of concern was the airport security measures that allowed al Qaeda and their associates to take control of United State s airplanes to carry out their plan of attack. The fear of another terrorist attack taking place on the airplanes resulted in extraordinary security tactics immediately emerging to protect the citizens. Further instances of other threats required more advanced security equipment to be installed, such as the body scanners. Statistics revealed there were an estimated 793 scanners (full body scanners) in use in March 2016 in more than 157 airports in the United States (Jansen). All of these security measures have taken place with the expense of sacrificing civil liberties. Although, the body scanners were developed to protect the people, the civil liberties of the United States citizens are sacrificed for the sake of national security through invasion of privacy, inefficiencies, misuse, and expense. To begin, in general, civil liberties are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Titan or Theif In Greek Mythology, there is a tale where a Titan named Prometheus stole fire from the gods and put it in the clay to make man. Like in the Greek Mythology, Mary Shelley has Victor Frankenstein steal life from nature. As Mary Shelley states in the title of her book Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus, she parallels Victor Frankenstein to the Titan Prometheus. As Mary Shelley states in Frankenstein the pursuit of unknown knowledge is dangerous. So much has been done... For Victor Frankenstein, his punishment was similar to Prometheus s. For Victor Frankenstein, his punishment was similar to Prometheus s. He too suffered daily as a reminder of what he did. Victor Frankenstein s punishment is also similar to Prometheus because he too has something ripped away from him. Prometheus had his liver ripped away and Victor Frankenstein had his love ones taken away from him. Both Prometheus and Victor Frankenstein suffer by playing God, . Prometheus crafts man while Victor crafts the daemon. In Paradise Lost by John Milton, Satan and his legion of followers were cast out of Heaven and put into Hell. Satan was cast out because he challenged the authority of God. Like Victor Frankenstein and Prometheus the Titan, Satan did something that caused him to lose his title. Victor Frankenstein was a smart young man that had a lot of promise and potential. He lost all of it because he tampered with nature s authority. Prometheus was a powerful Titan that stole the right to make life from Zeus; he too stole the power from a higher authority. All three characters, Satan, Prometheus, and Victor, ended up in their own personal Hell. For Satan, he was thrown out of Heaven and was chained to the burning lake in Hell. Prometheus s ... • 5. The Physics Of Our Science Classes In the 21st, in our science classes, we are taught to believe that our world is actually made up of particles as the smallest constituents of matter. We are told that particles behave like waves because it makes no sense to teach that a particle moves faster than the speed of light, that particles can cause interference with one another, among other ridiculous things that we just never imagine a particle to do. What we are not told is that we never had to think about the smallest elements of matter, also known as, quanta, as particles. Instead, we can describe quanta as being excitations of fields, i.e., waves. There is no supporting evidence that a wave can behave like a particle, the evidence only points to experiments evaluating the data using wrong techniques, and assuming that a particle was in the place of a wave. I. Introduction Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning. Einstein Every day, thousands of people go to class and learn. If you visited a class taught before Albert Einstein s Theory of Special Relativity was popular, your professor might have taught you that there was some magical ether that explained away Newton s classical equations of motion. But as years went on, Einstein s idea caught on and now we are taught that there is no ether we proved it through thorough experiments. Unfortunately for those who don t want to give up the current equivalent of a magical ether, wave/particle ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Essay on Campaign Finance Issues GENERAL BACKGROUND INFORMATION We are not a democracy, yet we do have a voice in our own government. Elections are the choice microphones for many citizens. There on Election Day, they have the right of making their voices heard; however, many interest groups and a few individuals seem to have a louder voice due to campaign financing: No U.S. official should be beholden to one or a few groups. And no group or individual should have a greater claim on our elected leaders than any other. That s the way it should work. But it is growing clear to more and more Americans that it doesn t (McCarthy 24). Recently, it has been the trend to try to make sure the opinions and concerns of minorities are duly noted and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Money is the most degrading, corrupting force in American politics today (McCarthy xi). The idea behind fundraising for elections was a success at first, giving donors another way to voice their opinions and open up the doors for communication once the elected officials fully realized who they owed their position to. However, this went too far. Those whose candidate did not win were left with an official who will accept the ideas of a past donor before any others. This favoritism, while beneficial to certain donors, proves damaging to others. Also, when before, all donated and spoke their mind, now only certain groups and people donate and not even all of them speak their mind. The individual doesn t count anymore (McCarthy 25). THE HYPOTHESIS Now that I have given about three pages of background information on the political processes, now would be a good time to introduce my Representative. Ken Bentsen represents the 25TH District of Texas. He is a democrat and has served as representative since 1991. I actually have a few theories regarding the reasons he voted the way he did and why certain groups financially supported his campaign. Scholars for thousands of years have pondered the question of whether it was the chicken or the egg, which came first. In the case of campaigning and finance, such seems to be the question. Because voters had the opportunity of watching his career before 1996, it s practically impossible to be able to tell ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Misfolded Prion (CJD) It has been considered to be one of the most mysterious diseases scientists are fighting so far. With no effective treatment or research on the disease, it has a 100% fatality rate, however fortunately for us, the disease is extremely rare with only 2 cases and deaths since 2008. The disease is caused by an abnormal and infectious protein in the brain called a prion. Normally, prions are used to help transmit messages between certain brain cells. They use protein folding which is beginning as a string of amino acids and folding themselves into a 3 D shape. However, CJD causes mistakes in the process, which causes misfolded prion proteins to spread, whereas a healthy person s body easily recycles them. As more and more misfolded prion ... • 9. Persuasive Essay About Fire Ever heard of a story of a little boy discovering fire for the first time? Well this little boy s mom had a lighter that had a dolphin design on it and it was used as a decoration piece. So, the little boy found the lighter and started to play with it and got it to work. He then proceeded to go into the bathroom so his mom did not know what he was doing. The little boy started to put it up to stuff to see what would happen. The first thing he grabbed was hairspray. He played with the hairspray and the lighter. He then managed to light the toilet paper on fire which caused the whole bathroom to catch on fire. The boy s mom ran into the bathroom and started to put out the fire and when it was out she found him in his room curled up in a ball holding his thumb because he had burned it. This little boy should have learned a valuable lesson that day. That lesson is that fire is nothing to mess with. Many people do not realize the risk of playing or not being careful with fire especially in forest and dry plains. Here is something to think about, being irresponsible around fire can cause someone to get hurt or it could cause people to lose their home. In 2002 there was four hundred and sixty five homes destroyed in Arizona because of wild fires (Kennedy and Johnson). Homes could be saved if forest fires did happen because of humans. Bewildered at the difficulty of the problem, they each evaluated the expression. However, the student had analyzed a differentiated solution. Most students would directly assume that Ms. Hart, as a teacher, would have the correct resolution. On the contrary, the student claimed she was accurate. Who will stand corrected? In order to precisely evaluate an expression involving the division of decimals, there are certain steps to ensure success: If the divisor is not a whole number, move decimal point to the right to make it a whole number and move decimal point in dividend the same number of places. Divide as usual. Put ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hart and the student s work, the miscalculation is pointed out. The student has correctly analyzed the first step. Conversely, the teacher mistakenly divided 146.4 by 100 instead of multiplication, placing one of the main components of her expression to be 1.464 incorrect. This affects every step after, although the operation and method used is correct. Nevertheless, the student may still be wrong as well. Continuing the process of evaluating the expression, the next step is to divide as usual. Following the standard process of dividing whole numbers, the exact quotient received should be 457.5. With step 3 already done, the final action would be to check the answer. That can be done with the inverse operation of division, multiplication. 457.5 Γ— 0.32 = 146.4. This proves that 457.5 is the error free, precise quotient. Evidently supported by a carefully checked run through of the steps needed, the student has received the honor of evaluating the expression accurately. Ms. Hart had erroneously used the wrong equation on step 1. Everyone makes mistakes! This depicts how using the right strategy and checking after each move can lead to conquering the expression and a genius, mathematical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Theme Of Bondage And Freedom The Theme of Bondage and Freedom in African American Literature Shayla Carew Liberty University Author Note: Shayla Carew, Master s of Teaching and Learning English program, Liberty University. Contact: scarew@liberty.edu Abstract Black history is significant not only as a part of the black community, but as a critical part of American history for all races and genders. Because of the importance of the history of African Americans, Black History Month is celebrated annually. During this special time of remembrance, people of different races take time to reflect on the historical events that not only shaped the history of African Americans, but the history of America. There are a variety of methods used in comprehending black history. Reading African American literature allows readers to gain a higher quality understanding of the events that shaped black history. This paper will closely examine the theme of bondage and freedom, which is a prominent theme in African American literature that speaks volumes about black history. Introduction Due to recent events, black history has been frequently discussed. • 13. How Did The Serfs Affect Feudal Society Serfs had a place in the feudal system as a low class peasant. Serfs made up the majority of the medieval population, doing grueling work. Serfs made up most of the population, with a whopping 90%! The population was a larger amount of serfs than knights. Serfs were also known as farmers, meaning they gave food and crops to villagers. The crops would help sustain them for a long time, and only a few serfs were strong enough to work in the fields and harvest them, for most serfs caught the Black Plague. The oath wasn t a massive change in the feudal society, but it did have some effect on services. The feudal oath changed slightly. In feudal law, the members of society still had the same social classes. The oaths kept the feudal systems in tact. The oaths were helpful to members of society because they had said that each worker had to do his job in the medieval village and they usually used a sacred oath to God (Birney 85). Feudalism already existed in England at the time, but became stronger and stronger under each oath made. Changes in law were to be expected, like changes in taxing, military service and even a shift of power was made sometimes. The idea of feudalism had begun long before members of society realized (Birney 84). The Salisbury Oath was not necessarily a feudal oath. England practiced feudalism, so all tenants acknowledge a supreme member as their monarch. The members strived for a strong, feudal government, so William created an oath that was an expansion on feudalism (Birney 85). In feudal times, Oaths were the only source of agreement. Even the relationship between the feudal lord and the vassal was based on oaths. The Lord made an oath to protect the vassal s family if anything should happen, and the vassal made an oath to the lord that he would fight with all the effort possible (Conference Page 2). The many, oaths and agreements between kings and vassals was considered a reciprocal relationship. Oaths also kept the Military in tact, causing knights and vassals to dedicate their full service to the feudal lord. Without the oaths, the military would crumble, leading to a downfall of feudalism (Conference Page 2). The oaths and agreements were a severe part of feudalism, causing a stronger ... A war becomes total when the nation itself must dedicate every facet of its existence as a state to the war effort. The general population being brought into the war effort brings to question their innocence, thus making them targets for the enemy. The transition from a small scale war into a total war is a gradual process, as adjusting a nation s economy and society to feed the war is a long and difficult process. The transition to total war depends mainly on the length of the war and the number of casualties. A short war would not require the kind of resources and civilian support that an expansive war would require. The Great War is often cited as being the first total war, and that is clear through the population s view of the war as well as the soldier s. That being said, this economic recession hasn t had much of an impact until recently. America s housing boom had a tremendous influence on the economy for its low prices and flow of new home construction. The new construction market in the mid 2000 s was flourishing. People saw building a home as an opportunity for a solid investment because prices and rates were so low that certain homes could depreciate extremely slowly. However, there would be a negative effect from all this low cost new construction and few were aware of just how devastating it would be to the new construction market. In 2005, the market was flooded with a vast array of homes that were all selling at a low price, and this allowed people to buy and sell homes with minimal effort. Banks were being reckless with their lending, not giving enough attention to who they were giving mortgages to, as virtually anybody with a decent credit score could go to a bank and get a mortgage, sometimes without even going to see if the land and ability for development was there. This created a housing bubble in 2006, and would inevitably come back to hurt a wide range of industries, but few were as damaged as the new construction industry.
