Los Angeles Art World Essay
The Golden Age in Los Angeles, the art world was also hitting its stride. By the early sixties,
complained art dealer Irving Blum, the the earlier camaraderie and real affection that these people had
for one another; began to shift with the spectre of money, the spectre of commerce, the spectre of
greater interest, the spectre of greater collecting activity, the spectre of competition (Colpitt 1983, 39).
At the epicenter of the boom, the dimensions and mood of the art world were shifting for good.
Concerns were mounting that the art world was abandoning its cherished autonomy from the norms of
mainstream society. In a faster, commercial art world dominated by newcomers and speculators, how
could such agreements be reached about aesthetic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Perhaps the most significant implication of this immigrant composition is that a much larger number
of these Los Angeles immigrants are undocumented, and they are preceived to put extra pressure on

Themes Of The Book Echo, Great Ambition
All books have themes that teach the reader a lesson. The theme of the book Echo is great ambition.
Another book that has a great theme is Tuck Everlasting which has the theme of hope. I have read so
many books with many great themes. But one book that I read in my summer reading assignment is
Red Queen. This book s theme was so intriguing. Usually, books have themes like friendship, love,
and kindness. But the Red Queen had a very interesting theme. The theme of this book was trust and
betrayal.
Now before I launch into a wide ranged explanation of why it has a theme of trust and betrayal let me
explain the summary of the book to you. Now in this book Mare Barrow s world is divided by blood.
Those with red blood and those with silver ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To be more specific I will quote a passage from the book Red Queen. What is it? Who else joined up?
They don t answer me, exchanging glances instead. A few names run through my head, servants and
kitchen boys who would support the cause. But the person who joins us is no servant. He s not even
Red. Maven.
I don t know whether to scream or run when I see my betrothed appear from the shadows. He s a
prince, he s Silver, he s the enemy, and yet, here he is, standing with one of the leaders of the Scarlet
Guard. His companion Holland, an aging Red servant with years of service behind him, seems to swell
with pride. She steps toward us, gun in hand, but she s just as nervous as he is. Still, her voice does not
shake. I want to hear it from your lips, little prince. Tell me what you told him, she says tipping her
head toward Holland. Maven sneers at little prince, his lips curving in distaste, but he doesn t snap at
her. I want to join the Guard, he says, his voice full of conviction. She moves quickly, cocking the
pistol and taking aim in the same motion. My heart seems to stop when she presses the barrel to his
forehead, but Maven doesn t flinch. Why? she hisses.
Because the world is wrong. What my father has done, what my brother will do, is wrong. He is a
prince and, worst of all, the queen s son. I didn t want to trust him for this very reason, for the secrets
he kept hidden. Or maybe this is what he

Florence Was The Birthplace Of The Italian Renaissance
The Italian Renaissance was a period in history unlike most others; this was an era of ingenuity,
expansion, and enlightenment that would revolutionize both society as the people of the Renaissance
knew it to be, and as the future generations of individuals across the globe understand it today.
Florence held itself out to be the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, yet the people of this
renaissance era never lost sight of the Greek and Roman heritage. The following essay will discuss the
varying ways in which Florence was the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, and will provide the
reader with examples that demonstrate Greco Roman ideas and practices in the Italian Renaissance.
One of the most obvious examples in which Greco Roman culture was displayed in the era of the
Italian Renaissance was through the works of art; and more specifically the medium of sculpture. Take
for example, the piece by Donatello, Saint Mark, this piece harkens back to the artwork of the Greek
culture by having the character whom is sculpted to be positioned in the contrappasto style, where the
audience may view the drapery covering his body beneath, particularly his left knee as it projects
forward... He is, in other words, a fully realized human form ; this technique was predominantly used
by Greek artists, and was relatively abandoned by all other artists after the fall of the Greek empire to
the Romans (Sayre, 2015). Yet, the artists of the Italian Renaissance saw the beauty and value of

Intellectual Property And The Copyright Act Of 1976
Intellectual property represents ideas created by minds of humans that require certain rights for their
use. Intellectual property gives companies a competitive advantage and attracts the attention of other
business partners and investors (Lee, 2016). With such importance, it is necessary for the law to
protect these ideas from being used by unauthorized individuals. To shield from this, trade secrets,
patents, and copyrights are used to protect the ownership of intellectual property (Legal Information
Institute).
A copyright gives the originator of literary, artistic, or music works the right to perform, publish,
record, or print them. This can include sound recordings, paintings, photographs, films, melodies,
television, radio broadcasts, cable programs, performances, and even codes to computer programs
(Legal Information Institute). Since copyrights cover several different types of materials, the duration
varies depending on what work is being protected. According to the Copyright Act of 1976, musical,
artistic, and literary works created after January 1, 1978 have copyrights that last 70 years after the
author has passed away, 95 years after publication, or 120 years from creation, whichever expires first
(United States Copyright Office, 2011). However, the published editions of these works have
copyrights that last 25 years after being first published. Broadcast and cable programs, on the other
hand, have a copyright duration of 50 years after being created

The Suspense Genre Of The Walking Dead
The suspense genre has drastically changed over time. From visual effects to the story telling, society
has taken up a completely new form of television that has impacted many viewers. When The Walking
Dead came out, it brought out a side to television shows that had never been seen before; it started out
as another television show but it turned into something bigger. It is something that viewers never want
to end. The way these people had to live their lives brought a certain understanding of what would
happen in a post apocalyptic scenario. The reason so many people are drawn into this show is not only
for the blood and gore but because viewers can see an aspect of themselves in the show.
Psychologically, it is very simple and many people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first one Tenga and Basset describe as the Terror Management Theory which details the factor of
death and the toll it takes into a human s psych and then there is the Moral Foundation Theory which
describes the moral options one must take in order to live (how far one is willing to go). Terror
Management Theory posits that humans have developed elaborate psychological defenses to mitigate
the potentially overwhelming anxiety engendered by the terrifying awareness of personal mortality.
Attempts to suppress thoughts of death and to extend longevity are insufficient, but cultural
worldviews provide comfort by offering the perception of an orderly, meaningful world and by
defining the means through which individuals can literally or symbolically extend identity and
existence. Terror Management Theory seems particularly applicable to the behavior of the characters
in The Walking Dead , who live with the relentless threat of impending death. The theory also seems
well suited for analyzing viewers reactions to the series, given their emotional attachment to and
identification with its characters (Tenga, Basset). In other words, the theory states that for the audience
to come to terms with death and the realization that they will eventually die, their sub conscious looks

The Bubonic Renaissance And The Renaissance
The Renaissance was a crucial part of the change from the hierarchy and social order that dominated
The Dark Ages to the social mobility that developed when the Early Modern Period began. Due to a
myriad of factors, such as the Bubonic plague, which had devastating effects on the population during
the Late Middle Ages. This combined with the nobility s need for peasant labor resulted in common
people demanding higher wages and increasing the prices of their products. Likewise, skilled workers
could charge more money, since they no longer had as much competition (Perry 189). As a result, the
common people were able to engage in social and economic development, which lead to spiritual
advancement. These changes were reflected throughout Renaissance literature, such as Hamlet by
Shakespeare, Giovanni Pico Della Mirandola s Oration on the Dignity of Man, and The Prince by
Niccolo Machiavelli, as well as religious works such as the The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri,
The Creation of Adam by Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, and The 95 Theses by Martin
Luther. These works represent the development of a new social structure that occured in conjunction
with the increase learning during the Renaissance. Throughout the Middle Ages, the common people
were seen as inferior, inheriting their low social status and lacking any opportunity to advance in
society. When the Bubonic plague ravaged the common population and the Renaissance movement
took hold of Europe, there was

High Fidelity Analysis
High Fidelity by Nick Hornby Bibliography: Hornby, Nick. High Fidelity. Victor Gollancz, 1995.
Nick Hornby s High Fidelity (1995) details the struggles of Rob Fleming. High Fidelity by Nick
Hornby revolves around the professional and romantic endeavours of the protagonist Rob Fleming.
Rob is struggling to cope with the diminishing returns from his hapless record shop, Championship
Vinyl, which he runs with the help of Barry and Dick, two music lovers. Apart from this, Rob is also
trying to come to terms with heartbreak after he broke up with his girlfriend. Rob s problems seem to
be anchored in his tendency to replace his real feelings and opinions with lists of tribulations. When
Rob and Laura break up, he resorts to making a list of the most memorable relationships and attempts
to discover where exactly he went wrong. He believes that real tension defines his relationship with
women and the eventual breakups. Going by Rob s numerous breakups with women, the novel seems
to be all about dramatizing the romantic struggle of this protagonist, with Burke s Act being the most
dominant element. But elements like Agent, Purpose, and Agency may only help to analyze minor
aspects in the novel such as business failure and infiltration of pop culture. The novel opens with Rob
s top five breakups. The list includes Sarah Kendrew, Penny Hardwick, Charlie Nicholson, Jackie
Allen, and Allison Ashworth. The protagonist is over thirty years old and he decides to create

Alcatraz From Inside By Jim Quillen
In 1934 America opened one of the most secured Federal Prisons, Alcatraz. Located on an island in
San Francisco, California, inmates that were considered the most dangerous were transferred here to
complete their sentence. Alcatraz from Inside is an autobiography by Jim Quillen that focuses on his
experiences while imprisoned in Alcatraz including his perspective of the well known Battle of
Alcatraz . Jim Quillen was born in San Francisco, California in 1919. Quillen was transferred to
Alcatraz in 1942 released in 1952 and is now a writer expressing his personal feelings of Alcatraz.

To his knowledge he was the youngest one there at the time. Quillen immediately saw how harsh the
conditions were at Alcatraz. Quillen initially approached this jail the way he did with other things in
life and that was to look for the fastest way out. Quillen and others did try to escape but failed.
Throughout the time Quillen was in prison he witnessed one of the most intense attempted escapes
that occurred in Alcatraz history. It was known to the public that there were a total a six participants,
but according to Quillen there were only five involved directly in this incident. In 1946 one afternoon
participant one Bernard Coy was able to break into the Gun Gallery, this initiated the incident. Coy
had a plan to escape along with two other inmates, Marvin F. Hubbard and Joseph P. Cretzer. Coy and
Cretzer were able to get a hold of a rifle and a pistol in their hand. At this point the officers called for
backup now involving the U.S. Marines, U.S. Navy gunboats. When Coy and Cretzer felt no way out
they tried hiding in a dark and small tunnel. This was where officials saw the opportunity to enter the
corridor shooting them down without hurting any other inmate. After over thirty six hours later three
officials came in the corridor to find Coys , Cretzers and Hubbard s bodies with multiple gunshots.
Even though three other inmates went along with this they were not directly involved. Not only were

Alicia Switching School
Here s What:
Alicia switching schools is a very important detail to include in this assessment I believe, it can say a
lot about how a person identifies different situations. It is sad how low Alicia perceives reading in
both categories. It is something she will never get away from and her dislike now, will only make it
harder in the future.
So What:
After reading that Alicia had recently switched schools and had very low reading recreational and
academic interests, my immediate thoughts were if the two were correlated. If Alicia, does not feel
comfortable in her new classroom and with new peers, she may not feel academics (such as reading)
welcoming to her. They may remind her of the thoughts she has at school and how she doesn t it like it

William Blake and The Garden of Love Essay
William Blake and The Garden of Love
At first glance, the poetry of William Blake may appear simplistic; he
writes most often in regular metrical rhythm, apparently sticking to the
rules, blunt observations on such mundane subjects as tigers, lambs and
roses. But if one were to finish with Blake and move on, left with only
these initial impressions, it would be a great pity; true enjoyment of this
poet can only come about through some understanding of his life, background,
and skill in the manipulation of the tool of simple lyrical poetry, to
convey deeper meaning.
Amongst his admirers, Blake is considered something of a renaissance man, a
frustrated and hugely gifted artist and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When such an inquisitive mind was married with social conscience and
inclination toward a deep spirituality, and dropped into the chaos of late
eighteenth century London with its corruption, oppression and suffering,
Blake s genius was molded and he was destined to become one of the most
moving and admired poets of his language.
Lyrical poetry will here be defined as poetry that is set with a definite
meter and structure, and is rhythmic in nature. It is this classical form
that Blake so thoroughly understood and used to build a foundation for his
lyrical poems. Those educated or otherwise skilled in creative arts of all
sorts, from painting to sculpting to design and interior decorating, to
writing, will usually agree that one must build on a solid simple
foundation, and then add elements of surprise, to create a memorable work.
Herein lies the genius of William Blake in the unpredictable.
Now let¹s look at Blake¹s The Garden of Love. This poem serves as a great
example of the poet¹s use of simplicity and surprise, and touches lightly
upon the typical ideology expressed in his work. Here, we see his
oft invoked mood of childhood innocence, and a setting of beauty, marred

Conforming To Society s Expectations In Billy Elliot
Billy Elliot Film Assessment
Billy Elliot shows us that it is important to remain true to yourself and to not conform to society s
expectation.
Settings How do they reinforce the main messages of the film?
Steven Daldry picks the settings in his movie carefully, in order to emphasize and reinforce the
importance of remaining true to yourself, and to remind us as an audience that it isn t always about
conforming to what society wants. Steven Daldry does this through the repeated metaphor of a cage in
his settings. The boxing hall represents tradition and society s expectations of Billy, You re a disgrace
to them gloves and to the traditions of this boxing hall. Steven Daldry contrasts the worlds that Jackie
and Billy belong to, by placing them on the different sides of the wire doors of the boxing hall,

This is done further in the movie in Everington. The miner s huts in Everington represent conformity
and the grey dull colours of the miner show the bleak and uncertain future of Billy in this town. There
is sense of confinement in the town streets and the lack of any other streets aside the main street
symbolise that all the children in Everington are expected to travel on the path to become Miners. The
walls are closing in on Billy and they represent the obstacle he will have to overcome. Steven Daldry
also provides stark contrasts in order to convey the message of the film, his use of Juxter positioning
allows the audience to recognise the extent of Billy s passion of ballet and how unusual it was for a
boy to do ballet in Billy s community. The use of Juxter positioning allows the audience to see the full
extent of the impact that the character s environment had

Essay on The Temple of Athena Nike
The Temple of Athena Nike exemplifies the early Greek belief that the gods, specifically Athena, held
divine providence over government and victory in war. It was built as part of the same project as the
Parthenon, one of the greatest achievements of Mycenaean Greece. Lasting from 1300 1000 B.C.E,
Mycenaean Greece bordered Epirus, Macedonia, Phrace, Phryapa, Mysia, Caria, and Lydia.
Encompassing this time span, Ancient Greece lasted from 8000 to 50 B.C.E. The achievements of
Athens in this time include the Pythagorean Theorem and the Socratic dialogues. The epic Trojan War
was said to have occurred in Mycenaean times as well. So were the Ionic Greeks who built this

His statue adorns Kolokotroni Square. In front of Old Parliament, this equestrian statue s location
symbolizes his celebration atop a hill. Another similarity of these two structures is their open air feel,
which reflects the motives of Ancient Greek democracy, as is shown in its open meetings where
freedom of speech was upheld. Such are the Temple of Athena Nike s connections with government
and warfare.
(Calvin, Calvin.edu)(Watterson, 25) The Temple of Athena Nike was built where it is for various
strategic and religious reasons. Pericles rebuilt it as part of an effort to increase morale and renew
culture during wartime. It was built over a previous temple to Athena, which was used for similar
things. Utilized continuously by Bronze Age Greeks, the temple also served as a military base.
References to Nike, the goddess of victory, also strengthened the luck associated with this structure
and, therefore, its appeal as a fort. It also was arranged to face an altar to the east. Furthermore, the
location affected the use of stone, as the natural shapes and quality of local marble inspired the Doric
and Ionic orders. Thus, the Ancient Greeks had reasons for placing the Temple of Athena Nike where
it still stands today. (Ancient Greece.org)(Reidel, Brown.edu) How and by whom was the Temple of

Atheists Beliefs Of Atheism
Atheism is religion where you believe that there is no god(s). Atheism comes from the ancient greek
word atheos which means with out gods/godless. Atheists believe that there is no god because there is
not hard evidence to prove that there is one and actually have evidence against a god. This is backed
up by scientific, philosophical and ideological notions. It is believed that atheism started in Europe
and Asia sometime in the 5th/6th century when some tribes where observed to have no rituals or rites.
Atheism has only grown stronger since then for as science and philosophy has progressed so has the
notion of no gods. This is also partly due to advocates in high up places.

CHAPTER1. INTRODUCTION
Introduction
Time is one of the major factors in learning .In order for learners to achieve success in any field, they
need time to learn ,practice and apply what they have learned to fulfill goals (Farbman ,A N).
Educational institutes in the US nowadays are trying to improve the quality of the education offered to
students, therefor, there is a growing concern on how to use educational resources effectively such as
time in learning. Previous researches indicated that there is a direct relation between the amount of
time given to instruction and learning. This paper contributes to this growing literature on the effect of
the long time spending in the educational institutes on students performance and achievement. In order
to examine the impact of long instructional hours on student success and performance an action

Creation Of The Bill Of Rights
Creation of the Bill of Rights and Amendments Colonists longed for a different type of government
before, during, and after the Revolutionary War. Before the war, the power stayed within the hands of
the King. Many years later, a document called the Articles of Confederation was created. The creation
of the articles was one of the strategies taken to merge the colonies in becoming one nation. The
articles were supposed to help the governmental problems at this point in time. However, this
particular document had several weaknesses and was not sufficient enough for the colonists. The
weakness that the colonists focused on the most was the lack of power within the central government.
With many of the colonists following behind Whigs ideology on the creation of their future
government and how things should be carried out, aided them in their views on the Articles of
Confederation. Whigs Ideology Whig ideology evolved over the course of the Revolutionary War due
to English, American, and Revolutionary Whigs. Schweikart Allen (2014) state that the English Whigs
adopted the concept that everyone was created equally and deserved equal rights and opportunities (p.
98), which is also known as egalitarianism. The English Whigs were firm believers in having the
government small and closer to home. The American Whigs preferred that the legislative should
remain the most powerful as it was in the Articles of Confederation. Schweikart Allen (2014) suggest

Dragonfly Research Paper
Now that we have covered what exactly an arthropod is and why they (specifically the uniramians
class) are so successful, we can focus on one specific organism and look deeper into how they evolved
to be so successful in the environment they are in today. The organism that we are going to be
focusing on is the dragonfly. The dragonfly has been around for 300 million years and has manage to
stay alive and thrive in its environments. Back then an ancestor of dragonflies roamed the planet, its
name was Meganeura. Meganeura is a genus of extinct insects from approximately 300 million years
ago, they are related to modern day dragonflies. In this group one member known as M. permiana was
first described be researchers in Kansas in 1937 as having a wingspan of over 2 feet or 0.6 meters
long. It is still considered one of the largest insects ever to be alive on this planet. To better understand
why prehistoric dragonflies were bigger than modern ones we must go back in time to take a look at

Gene Modification
Describe the various methods that have been developed to achieve targeted gene modification in
animals and plants and discuss their applications.
For many years, There have been many discoveries in the world of science such as; the structure of
deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) by Watson and Crick, the purines and pyrmides of DNA by the Human
Genome Project, yet despite discovering genetic changes associated with Huntington s disease,
Alzheimer s Disease, and thousands of other diseases with deleterious genetic mutations, The process
of openly altering the structure of DNA and using it in many industries from agriculture to clinical
research has only just began.

An example of a selectable marker that is commonly used would be puromycin N acetyl transferase
(pac) gene, which confers resistance to the antibiotic puromycin, a drug that inhibits the function of
ribosomes. After the DNA is constructed, the cells are cultured with puromycin in the medium,
allowing the selection of single cells that have incorporated the DNA construct into their own
chromosomes. Cells which haven t taken to the pac gene will die in a culture medium containing
puromycin. Once the puromycin resistant cells have been expanded into cell lines, the DNA of these
cells can then be analysed and separated from the subset of the cells in which the introduced construct
has integrated into the correct gene.
Although most of the experiments have been conducted in a clinical sense, there have been studies
conducted in mouse embryonic stem (ES) cells. The clone of ES cells with the correct targeting event
has been analysed and selected, they are then transferred into the mouse via the process of blastocyst
injection. The mouse is then put under observation, allowing the study of gene function in the bodies
of living, intact animals. Further research has shown that other animals are also capable of undergoing
targeted mutations into the germ line. The development of nuclear transfer (moving the nucleus from
one cell to another), however, has allowed gene targeting to be done in other

The World Is Becoming More Complex Day By Day Essay
Present world is now just like a village and countries are family of that village. In a word, world is in
the hand of human beings today through the blessing of science. Our world is becoming more
complex day by day.so when we take any decision it must influences other factors. We take different
policy or decision everyday by considering many sites or situation and which has a specific goal or
vision. Just like that recently Bangladeshgovernment introduces SIM(subscriber identification
module) re verification through fingerprint which is called biometric SIM re verification. It s not an
isolated decision or policy, behind it government has some personal interest or benefits.

Brave New World By Aldous Huxley
In the book Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley, the character John the Savage is brought from his
homeland of Malpais to London. When he arrives he finds that this world is very different from his
own. Saddened and angered by the injustice of the society, he attempts to isolate himself from the
world. John the Savage s experience of being exiled from Malpais was enriching in that it showed him
the true nature of the Other Place and alienating in that he was separated from his culture and not able
to integrate into the new one. This illuminates the meaning of the work in that it shows the negative
side of the utopian society. John the Savage s exile from his homeland was enriching in that it showed

Don t you even understand what manhood and freedom are? (Huxley 212 213) This quote shows how
he became aware of the injustice of the system. His discovery of the true nature of the Other Place was
an enriching experience. It allowed him to no longer wonder about what the outside world was like
and to no longer hold an idea in high regard that was not worthy of it. The truth is better than the lie
and in learning the truth, John was enriched by his experience of being cut off from his homeland.
John the Savage s exile from his homeland was alienating in that it separated him from his culture and
he was not able to integrate into the new one. John the Savage grew up in a society with very different
views from that of the society in London. It was very difficult for him to not be around other people
who shared similar ideas with him. This is exemplified by the quote ... Listen, Lenina; in Malpais
people get married. Get what? The irritation had begun to creep back into her voice. What was he
talking about now? For always. They make a promise to live together for always. What a horrible
idea! Lenina was genuinely shocked. (Huxley 191) He was unable to connect with anyone on a deep
level because of this intrinsic difference between them. Therefore, this experience was alienating for
him because he was set apart from the rest of the society. The experience was so alienating that John
the Savage removed himself from the society around him. I shall go away

Radley And Boo
People often fear what they don t understand.
During the time that Boo or Arthur Radley was being kept in his house by his own father, many of the
townspeople became almost superstitious about Boo, they would say he would walk by their own
houses and scratch on their windows, one lady even said she saw him through the window others said
he walks by shuffling his feet but I think with a mind like Boo he would be too scared or shy even to
leave his house knowing that everyone in town was disgusted at his sight. The whole reason Boo was
to be kept in his house, was he first locked Maycomb s county beadle in an outhouse then stabbed his
father s leg with a pair of scissors, whether that was an accident we have no idea, but all his mother

The Psychology Of Sports Gambling
The psychology of sports gambling is involved right from the start. Sports gambling can be as
innocuous as being part of a fantasy sports pool at work or playing the odds of a horse race. People get

the result is exhilarating! There s the monetary upside to sports gambling however there can likewise

Attracting younger customer also help us improve brand image compare to competitor. From data
(Chart 4) we can see that BMW driver are younger compare to main competitor, such as Lexus and
Mercedes, if we can make BMW brand attach with young and then make other competitor brand look
old this will help to attract more younger customer and make them commit to use BMW for the rest of
their life. Another thing that we can see from BMW customer base is while average ages of BMW
owner are younger but their average incomes are higher we make people remember that BMW is the
car for highly educate, bright, affluent person who want to have a great driving experience . If we can
own that position which utilize BMW strong point as Ultimate driving machine then push other
competitor to car for boring and old people . This campaign also improve brand image by reduce bad
thing that associate with BMW brand such as Status symbol, Yuppie Machine and also stress what
BMW is all about amazing performance and try something new and exciting. This show people what
make a BMW a BMW which is the main purpose of this campaign.
From all reason above I think this campaign is successfully improving brand image of BMW and
since target customer of BMW in another part of the world is almost the same we can use this movie

Chapter 10: Performance Management:
(21 Oct 13)
According Dressler, assessment happens in the workplace of the organization in three different ways
depending on the situation, such as the following: Evaluation by the immediate supervisor: the
supervisor should be the best person to assess his or her employees, because of the supervisors of
these are directly related to the performance of the staff. As a result, it would be easy to evaluate the
performance of staff and gave the results of a large specific. The use of peer assessment: peer
assessment more accurate than their managers, because there is a relationship between bonds
immediate staff. This strategy gives the evacuation of better performance from their managers.
Committees Rating: prefer many employees are evaluated by committees, because it seems that the
rating committees more trustworthy, fair and compelling. Management s assessment of staff: managers
evaluate employees are not traditionally known in the workplace, but this idea has spread is between
the organization recently. This strategy gives workers the right to evaluate the managers where they
can feel that there is equality in the organization. As a result, it may increase the performance of
employees.

The Managerial Theories Of Public Administration
Public administration is sets to identify the formulation and policies of the executive branch, also
playing a part in the judicial and legislative branches; implementing public policies; involved in
problems concerning human behavior and operative human efforts; involved with the production of
public goods and services. Public administration is also closely associated with numerous of private
groups and individuals which provide multiple services to the communities.
Max Weber went on to define administration as legal rationale, as actions in pursuit of conscious
purpose of an organized system of affairs and applying operational efficiency to making them happen
as one wanted (Stillman, 2010). Marshall Dimock made two common observations made about public
administrations depending on the type of work one was responsible for which included the managerial
views and the integral view. The managerial view suggested that only managerial responsibilities were
included in public administration. The view on integral suggested that public administration
incorporated managerial, technical, clerical, and manual responsibilities consisting of employees of all
levels. The public interest would refer to the security and welfare of the citizens within the country
compared to that of a private company or person. The rights of the citizens is supported, protected and
recognized by the government and its agencies. Although in many instances the term of public interest

Tips For A Sized Stroller System That Has All The Bells...
When you have a baby, you need to have stroller, if you are ever going to leave leave your house. Of
course, you will likely want to have a full sized stroller system that has all the bells and whistles.
Many of them are like baby Cadillacs. However, full sized strollers have some major liabilities. They
are heavy. In fact, they are often so heavy that it is impossible to get them into the car, so you can push
your baby around when you get to your final destination. If you are lucky enough to win the struggle
of getting the stroller in and out of your vehicle, the next task is setting it up. That can often be a
difficult task as well. If can be enough to convince any parent to not bother with the struggle and just

Following are some of the factors to look at during your search for a new lightweight stroller. Type
There are two types of lightweight strollers, so your first consideration should be which one of these
two will best fit your needs. The most common type of lightweight stroller is the umbrella stroller.
This type of stroller is typically the one parents envision when they consider a second stroller that is
compact enough to take on the go. This type of stroller is generally basic and does not include any
extras that are common on full sized strollers. The other type of lightweight stroller is a bit bigger than
an umbrella stroller but not as big as a standard stroller. This type of lightweight stroller generally is
more comfortable and has a few conveniences such as under seat storage and larger sunshades. Budget
As with most items you buy, price is always a consideration. Lightweight strollers have a wide price
range, depending on the features you are looking for. It is not hard to find a lightweight stroller to fit
any budget, and it is equally as easy to find one that will break your bank account. So, it is a good idea
to set your budget before you start looking for a stroller so you can easily eliminate some choices right
off the bat. Durability Just as lightweight strollers come in a variety of price ranges, they also vary in
their durability. Before you purchase a

Brushless Coils
While marking up the costs of the drone, our team realized that it would be cost effective to make the
parts of our drone ourselves, instead of sourcing them from outside retailers. The prices listed are the
market value of the parts we need if we were to purchase them. The total cost will be more than what
we anticipate it will cost to create our drone. Brushless motors Brushless motors are a bit similar to
normal DC motors in the way that coils and magnets are used to drive the shaft. Though the brushless
motors do not have a brush on the shaft which takes care of switching the power direction in the coils,
and this is why they are called brushless. Instead the brushless motors have three coils on the inner
(center) of the motor, which is fixed to the mounting. On the outer side it contains a number of
magnets mounted to a cylinder that is attached to the rotating shaft. So the coils are fixed which means
wires can go directly to them and therefor there is no need for a brush. The reason why QuadCopters
use brushless motors instead of normal DC motors is the much higher speeds and less power usage for
the same speed. The brushless motors are more efficient as there is no power lost as there is in the
brush transition on the DC motors. Usually rated with a KV rating (revolutions per volt). This is not
equivalent to torque, but lower KV motors are usually used for larger ... Show more content on

Marking The Streets By Frank Gallucci
Marking The Streets Frank Gallucci
What do you think of when you hear the term Street style ? For many, the term conjures up endless,
and I mean endless, images of white, middle class guys with far too much time and money on their
hands. These dandies (a man who is devoted to style) flaunt themselves from one high street coffee
chain to the next, waiting to run into a street style photographer so they can light up a cigarette and
pose pretty seductively. Would I be wrong in saying that?
Having said that, street style still manages to be about so much more. Its not all about spending hours
in front of the mirror trying to own the obligatory street style pose , which more times than one

not only high fashion, but high street trends too. There is no doubt that when it is done properly, you
could call this an art form in itself. This is something that shows us the complex relationship that is the
real world and the world of aesthetics. And if that doesn t convince you then I think you need to take
note from a couple of guys who don t get dressed in the morning in the hopes of being snapped at they

The Fast Lane Infrared Bubble Toy Helicopter
1. Introduction
Engineers adapt engineering design process to plan as well as consider different relevant variables in
different design stages in order to create a pragmatic product. Also, according to Ertas (1996), the
engineering design is defined as the decision making process in different scientific ways to meet
desired needs within stated objectives. A good designer who should take into account in different
design issues and relevant factors during the process of engineering design which can help to put
concepts and ideas into products in effective ways.
In this essay, I would like to choose a toy called The Fast Lane Infrared Bubble Helicopter to talk
about three factors that might affect the conceptual design, the preliminary design or the detailed
design.
This essay mainly divides into five parts. They are the introduction, safety factors, economic concerns,
human factors and ergonomics as well as conclusion.
2. Safety Factors
Safety factor is one of the important factors that we should consider in engineering design process
especially for toy industry. According to Ng Tyson (2014) lecture 7, failure to meet the safety
requirements, regulations and standards may cause serious result in lawsuits for damage under the
product liability laws. Also, brand names would be seriously affected by the issue. Therefore, design
engineers must consider the above consequences seriously. They must pay attention to minimize

The Book of Contemplation / Islam and the Crusades From reading The Book of Contemplation I feel
that the Franks are Inferior to the Muslims, in the eyes of Usama Ibn Munqidh. Throughout the
literature when Usama refers to the Franks, a may God curse them usually follows. Usama rarely
sheds a positive light on the Franks beliefs, actions, or practice of medicine. The first instance of
Usama referencing the Franks was in the story In the service of Nur Al Din (Munqidh 43). In the story

Frankish knight, a few more spear thrusts were able to free him (Munqidh 68). In the story Jum a
Accused of Cowardice a few Frankish soldiers came upon a man grazing his animal (Munqidh 71).
The Franks captured the man and his beast, afterwards Usama and his Uncle had 20 men ride off to
rescue the man, shortly after the men turned back because they carried no spears. Jum a rode off alone
in pursuit and attacked the horsemen, chasing them back to their tents. The lord of Antioch had
watched what happened and sent his men to disarm the two soldiers, after which the lord of Antioch
had chastised his men saying One Muslim horseman chases away two Frankish Knights! You aren t

few of his criticizing views of the Franks. The first sentence of the story says, The Franks (may God

  • 2. Los Angeles Art World Essay The Golden Age in Los Angeles, the art world was also hitting its stride. By the early sixties, complained art dealer Irving Blum, the the earlier camaraderie and real affection that these people had for one another; began to shift with the spectre of money, the spectre of commerce, the spectre of greater interest, the spectre of greater collecting activity, the spectre of competition (Colpitt 1983, 39). At the epicenter of the boom, the dimensions and mood of the art world were shifting for good. Concerns were mounting that the art world was abandoning its cherished autonomy from the norms of mainstream society. In a faster, commercial art world dominated by newcomers and speculators, how could such agreements be reached about aesthetic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. Themes Of The Book Echo, Great Ambition All books have themes that teach the reader a lesson. The theme of the book Echo is great ambition. Another book that has a great theme is Tuck Everlasting which has the theme of hope. I have read so many books with many great themes. But one book that I read in my summer reading assignment is Red Queen. This book s theme was so intriguing. Usually, books have themes like friendship, love, and kindness. But the Red Queen had a very interesting theme. The theme of this book was trust and betrayal. Now before I launch into a wide ranged explanation of why it has a theme of trust and betrayal let me explain the summary of the book to you. Now in this book Mare Barrow s world is divided by blood. Those with red blood and those with silver ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To be more specific I will quote a passage from the book Red Queen. What is it? Who else joined up? They don t answer me, exchanging glances instead. A few names run through my head, servants and kitchen boys who would support the cause. But the person who joins us is no servant. He s not even Red. Maven. I don t know whether to scream or run when I see my betrothed appear from the shadows. He s a prince, he s Silver, he s the enemy, and yet, here he is, standing with one of the leaders of the Scarlet Guard. His companion Holland, an aging Red servant with years of service behind him, seems to swell with pride. She steps toward us, gun in hand, but she s just as nervous as he is. Still, her voice does not shake. I want to hear it from your lips, little prince. Tell me what you told him, she says tipping her head toward Holland. Maven sneers at little prince, his lips curving in distaste, but he doesn t snap at her. I want to join the Guard, he says, his voice full of conviction. She moves quickly, cocking the pistol and taking aim in the same motion. My heart seems to stop when she presses the barrel to his forehead, but Maven doesn t flinch. Why? she hisses. Because the world is wrong. What my father has done, what my brother will do, is wrong. He is a prince and, worst of all, the queen s son. I didn t want to trust him for this very reason, for the secrets he kept hidden. Or maybe this is what he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Florence Was The Birthplace Of The Italian Renaissance The Italian Renaissance was a period in history unlike most others; this was an era of ingenuity, expansion, and enlightenment that would revolutionize both society as the people of the Renaissance knew it to be, and as the future generations of individuals across the globe understand it today. Florence held itself out to be the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, yet the people of this renaissance era never lost sight of the Greek and Roman heritage. The following essay will discuss the varying ways in which Florence was the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, and will provide the reader with examples that demonstrate Greco Roman ideas and practices in the Italian Renaissance. One of the most obvious examples in which Greco Roman culture was displayed in the era of the Italian Renaissance was through the works of art; and more specifically the medium of sculpture. Take for example, the piece by Donatello, Saint Mark, this piece harkens back to the artwork of the Greek culture by having the character whom is sculpted to be positioned in the contrappasto style, where the audience may view the drapery covering his body beneath, particularly his left knee as it projects forward... He is, in other words, a fully realized human form ; this technique was predominantly used by Greek artists, and was relatively abandoned by all other artists after the fall of the Greek empire to the Romans (Sayre, 2015). Yet, the artists of the Italian Renaissance saw the beauty and value of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Intellectual Property And The Copyright Act Of 1976 Intellectual property represents ideas created by minds of humans that require certain rights for their use. Intellectual property gives companies a competitive advantage and attracts the attention of other business partners and investors (Lee, 2016). With such importance, it is necessary for the law to protect these ideas from being used by unauthorized individuals. To shield from this, trade secrets, patents, and copyrights are used to protect the ownership of intellectual property (Legal Information Institute). A copyright gives the originator of literary, artistic, or music works the right to perform, publish, record, or print them. This can include sound recordings, paintings, photographs, films, melodies, television, radio broadcasts, cable programs, performances, and even codes to computer programs (Legal Information Institute). Since copyrights cover several different types of materials, the duration varies depending on what work is being protected. According to the Copyright Act of 1976, musical, artistic, and literary works created after January 1, 1978 have copyrights that last 70 years after the author has passed away, 95 years after publication, or 120 years from creation, whichever expires first (United States Copyright Office, 2011). However, the published editions of these works have copyrights that last 25 years after being first published. Broadcast and cable programs, on the other hand, have a copyright duration of 50 years after being created ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Suspense Genre Of The Walking Dead The suspense genre has drastically changed over time. From visual effects to the story telling, society has taken up a completely new form of television that has impacted many viewers. When The Walking Dead came out, it brought out a side to television shows that had never been seen before; it started out as another television show but it turned into something bigger. It is something that viewers never want to end. The way these people had to live their lives brought a certain understanding of what would happen in a post apocalyptic scenario. The reason so many people are drawn into this show is not only for the blood and gore but because viewers can see an aspect of themselves in the show. Psychologically, it is very simple and many people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first one Tenga and Basset describe as the Terror Management Theory which details the factor of death and the toll it takes into a human s psych and then there is the Moral Foundation Theory which describes the moral options one must take in order to live (how far one is willing to go). Terror Management Theory posits that humans have developed elaborate psychological defenses to mitigate the potentially overwhelming anxiety engendered by the terrifying awareness of personal mortality. Attempts to suppress thoughts of death and to extend longevity are insufficient, but cultural worldviews provide comfort by offering the perception of an orderly, meaningful world and by defining the means through which individuals can literally or symbolically extend identity and existence. Terror Management Theory seems particularly applicable to the behavior of the characters in The Walking Dead , who live with the relentless threat of impending death. • 7. The Bubonic Renaissance And The Renaissance The Renaissance was a crucial part of the change from the hierarchy and social order that dominated The Dark Ages to the social mobility that developed when the Early Modern Period began. Due to a myriad of factors, such as the Bubonic plague, which had devastating effects on the population during the Late Middle Ages. This combined with the nobility s need for peasant labor resulted in common people demanding higher wages and increasing the prices of their products. Likewise, skilled workers could charge more money, since they no longer had as much competition (Perry 189). As a result, the common people were able to engage in social and economic development, which lead to spiritual advancement. These changes were reflected throughout Renaissance literature, such as Hamlet by Shakespeare, Giovanni Pico Della Mirandola s Oration on the Dignity of Man, and The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli, as well as religious works such as the The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri, The Creation of Adam by Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, and The 95 Theses by Martin Luther. These works represent the development of a new social structure that occured in conjunction with the increase learning during the Renaissance. Throughout the Middle Ages, the common people were seen as inferior, inheriting their low social status and lacking any opportunity to advance in society. When the Bubonic plague ravaged the common population and the Renaissance movement took hold of Europe, there was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. High Fidelity Analysis High Fidelity by Nick Hornby Bibliography: Hornby, Nick. High Fidelity. Victor Gollancz, 1995. Nick Hornby s High Fidelity (1995) details the struggles of Rob Fleming. High Fidelity by Nick Hornby revolves around the professional and romantic endeavours of the protagonist Rob Fleming. Rob is struggling to cope with the diminishing returns from his hapless record shop, Championship Vinyl, which he runs with the help of Barry and Dick, two music lovers. Apart from this, Rob is also trying to come to terms with heartbreak after he broke up with his girlfriend. Rob s problems seem to be anchored in his tendency to replace his real feelings and opinions with lists of tribulations. When Rob and Laura break up, he resorts to making a list of the most memorable relationships and attempts to discover where exactly he went wrong. He believes that real tension defines his relationship with women and the eventual breakups. Going by Rob s numerous breakups with women, the novel seems to be all about dramatizing the romantic struggle of this protagonist, with Burke s Act being the most dominant element. But elements like Agent, Purpose, and Agency may only help to analyze minor aspects in the novel such as business failure and infiltration of pop culture. The novel opens with Rob s top five breakups. The list includes Sarah Kendrew, Penny Hardwick, Charlie Nicholson, Jackie Allen, and Allison Ashworth. The protagonist is over thirty years old and he decides to create ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

So What: After reading that Alicia had recently switched schools and had very low reading recreational and academic interests, my immediate thoughts were if the two were correlated. Before the war, the power stayed within the hands of the King. Many years later, a document called the Articles of Confederation was created. The creation of the articles was one of the strategies taken to merge the colonies in becoming one nation. The articles were supposed to help the governmental problems at this point in time. However, this particular document had several weaknesses and was not sufficient enough for the colonists. After the DNA is constructed, the cells are cultured with puromycin in the medium, allowing the selection of single cells that have incorporated the DNA construct into their own chromosomes. Cells which haven t taken to the pac gene will die in a culture medium containing puromycin. Once the puromycin resistant cells have been expanded into cell lines, the DNA of these cells can then be analysed and separated from the subset of the cells in which the introduced construct has integrated into the correct gene. Although most of the experiments have been conducted in a clinical sense, there have been studies conducted in mouse embryonic stem (ES) cells. The clone of ES cells with the correct targeting event has been analysed and selected, they are then transferred into the mouse via the process of blastocyst injection. Brushless Coils While marking up the costs of the drone, our team realized that it would be cost effective to make the parts of our drone ourselves, instead of sourcing them from outside retailers. The prices listed are the market value of the parts we need if we were to purchase them. The total cost will be more than what we anticipate it will cost to create our drone. Brushless motors Brushless motors are a bit similar to normal DC motors in the way that coils and magnets are used to drive the shaft. Though the brushless motors do not have a brush on the shaft which takes care of switching the power direction in the coils, and this is why they are called brushless. Instead the brushless motors have three coils on the inner (center) of the motor, which is fixed to the mounting. On the outer side it contains a number of magnets mounted to a cylinder that is attached to the rotating shaft. So the coils are fixed which means wires can go directly to them and therefor there is no need for a brush. The reason why QuadCopters use brushless motors instead of normal DC motors is the much higher speeds and less power usage for the same speed. The brushless motors are more efficient as there is no power lost as there is in the brush transition on the DC motors. Usually rated with a KV rating (revolutions per volt). Response Essay to Islam in the Crusades Bart Brown Strate HIS 120 02 3 October 2011 The Book of Contemplation / Islam and the Crusades From reading The Book of Contemplation I feel that the Franks are Inferior to the Muslims, in the eyes of Usama Ibn Munqidh. Throughout the literature when Usama refers to the Franks, a may God curse them usually follows. Usama rarely sheds a positive light on the Franks beliefs, actions, or practice of medicine. The first instance of Usama referencing the Franks was in the story In the service of Nur Al Din (Munqidh 43). One of the horsemen with Usama, Mahmud, had fallen and when Usama s group turned back to get him another had fallen and put in a choke hold by a Frankish knight, a few more spear thrusts were able to free him (Munqidh 68). In the story Jum a Accused of Cowardice a few Frankish soldiers came upon a man grazing his animal (Munqidh 71). The Franks captured the man and his beast, afterwards Usama and his Uncle had 20 men ride off to rescue the man, shortly after the men turned back because they carried no spears. Jum a rode off alone in pursuit and attacked the horsemen, chasing them back to their tents. The lord of Antioch had watched what happened and sent his men to disarm the two soldiers, after which the lord of Antioch had chastised his men saying One Muslim horseman chases away two Frankish Knights! You aren t men you re women! In the story The Status of the Knight among the Franks Usama plainly states a few of his criticizing views of the Franks. The first sentence of the story says, The Franks (may God confound them) have none of the human virtues except for courage (Munqidh 76). They have neither precedence nor high rank except that of the knights it is they who are the masters of legal reasoning, judgment and sentencing (Munqidh 76).
