Macbeth And The Grave Diggers In Hamlet By William...
The scene takes place in the most suspenseful moment of the play. There has been a series of tragic
scenes before the grave digger scene. Polonius is killed by Hamlet in Claudius s bed chamber and as a
result Claudius orders Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to prepare to take Hamlet with them to England.
Ophelia goes mad and soon Laertes arrives with mob. Soon Hamlet sends back letters to Horatio and
the king that he is coming. So when the audience waits to see the ultimate outcome of all these
happenings the two grave diggers come on the stage and engage themselves in a legalistic chop logic.
Thus the grave diggers provide a broad comic relief to an otherwise deadly serious and grim tragedy.
The occasional admission of comic ingredient in a tragedy or comic relief is used to calm down the
tragic feeling momentarily in order to make it more intensifying. Though Aristotle in his Poetics does
not make allowance for the dilution series action, the Elizabethan dramas are replete with instances of
the combination of the comic and the tragic elements. This tendency of using the comic in tragedy and
its final canonization also became popular in Shakespeare. The comic relief is a regular feature in
Shakespeare. The part played by fool in Kinglear, porter in Macbeth is the same as the apart played by
the grave diggers in Hamlet.
The scene opens with the legalistic chop logic between two grave diggers.Commenting on the Ophelia
s death by drowning, the first clown speaks in a light hearted

Hollywood Vs. The History And Legends Of Vampires
Hollywood vs the History and legends of vampires. Has Hollywood represented the long and deep
history of vampires in its motion pictures? Hollywood has turned how we view a demon blood
sucking like creature into something so different in each of its approaches. Does Hollywood portray
the way vampires appear in history? Or do they glamorize and exaggerate everything about them. It s
simple, you can break down the Hollywood vampire into three categories. The desirable vampire. That
is beautiful, attractive and desirable. They show you a world of perfection and the beauty of
immortality. The horrifying vampire. That is scary, blood driven. Showing you a world of lust and
death. Then finally the mix of the two.
Vampire have been made out to be a lot of thing over the years of history. Vampires are evil
mythological beings who roam the world at night searching for people whose blood they feed upon.
They may be the best known classic monsters of all. Most people associate vampires with Count
Dracula, the legendary, blood sucking subject of Bram Stoker s epic novel, Dracula, which was
published in 1897. But the history of vampires began long before Stoker was born. (History.com Staff
A+E Networks, 2017). Many people also believed that vampire s legends came from bats vampire bats
but the legends and myths go much deeper and older. Vampires can be traced to Greek mythology in
the story of a young Italian man named Ambrogio and love of his life, Selena. The story includes

Use Of Prawns In District 9
Throughout the film District 9 , the key idea of dehumanising is expressed through committing acts
that would otherwise horrify humans. Neill Blomkamp, the director of District 9 explores the ways
humans often dehumanising others through the use of prawns acting as creatures from a foreign land.
Blomkamp creates the film where prawns and humans are divided along racial lines, leaving prawns
to be looked upon as unhuman like aliens. Prawns undergo horrific experimentation and abuse by the
NMU soldiers but when Wikus Van De Merwe finds himself in a particularly extraordinary and
outlandish situation, humans turn against Wikus and begin to hunt him down. Wikus begins to learn
the conditions which the prawns are involuntary compel to deal with

Why Pride Is Nothing To Be Proud Of By John Amondeo Ph. D.
A Seed of Pride Pride, a seed that is planted and is left to sprout. Pride can be a user of good or evil all
depending on how we feed it. Merriam Webster defines pride three different ways in one it defines
pide as a sense of self respect that is reasonable and justifiable, the second is defined as sense of being
better than others, and lastly the third is defined as pleasure from an act or possessions. I believe
people should hold onto their pride however have caution and never let it sprout into pride that
consumes your mind and leads you to believe you are above others. In other words when the seed of
pride sprouts lead it down the path where we still hold on to dignity.
In a sense, pride must be balanced for the benefit of yourself. In the article Why Pride is Nothing to Be
Proud Of by John Amondeo Ph.D. it states We might believe that healthy self worth means taking
pride in our achievement. But if value is tied to our accomplishments or self image. It s built upon a
fragile foundation. Meaning, though people may have a healthy amount of self worth when self image
is tied to self worth our values become selfish and full of pride. Our values ... Show more content on

Although most do not admit it those selfless acts do come out as an act out of pride. In The Scarlet

pride because he did not want to be ashamed of his crippled brother. During the time the narrator was
teaching Doodle to walk the narrator states But all of us must have something or someone to be proud
of, and Doodle had become mine. (Hurst) This line from the story shows that although the narrator is
ashamed of Doodle he is proud of how far he has come. In this line it shows that the narrator cares
deeply for Doodle, however he cares about his pride

Velocity of Sound
Experiment 7: Velocity of Sound

Department of Biological Sciences
College of Science, University of Santo Tomas
Espana, Manila
Abstract
Sound is a mechanical wave that is an oscillation of pressure transmitted through a solid, liquid, or
gas, composed of frequencies within the range of hearing and of a level sufficiently strong to be heard.
It is produced when something vibrates causing its the medium (water, air, etc.) around it to vibrate as
well. In common everyday speech, speed of sound refers to the speed of sound waves in air. Sound
travels faster in liquids and non porous solids than it does in air. In this experiment, ... Show more

The wavelength of the sound produced was computed. 2 more trials were made and the average
wavelength was computed. By using the average wavelength and the frequency engraved in the tuning
fork, the velocity of sound in air inside the glass tube was compted. The temperature was then
determined and the speed of sound was then computed.
Activity 2:
The vernier microphone was connected to channel 1 of the interface. The microphone was positioned
near the open end of the close tube. The file 24 speed of sound in physics with computer file was
opened. The data collection begins after the snapping the fingers or clap your hands near the tube. The
time interval between the start of the first vibration and the start of the echo vibration was determined
using the graph. The speed of sound was then computed by dividing the length of the tube by œ of the
time interval obtains in step 5. The % error was then computed.
Activity 3:
A thin layer of cork dust as uniformly as possible inside the kundt s tube was placed. The rod was then
clamped at its center. The rod was rubbed with a piece of cloth with coarse poweder. This will set the
rod into vibration producing a sound of high frequency. A standing wave pattern will be formed in the
cork dust inside the glass tube. The distances between two consecutive displacement nodes were
measured. The average distance was computed. The frequency of sound produced was determined.
Using the computed frequency,

Analysis Of Disney Company And Its Subsidiaries
The Walt Disney Company and its subsidiaries forms one of the most diversified worldwide
entertainment company in the world, with operations in five different areas: 1. Media Networks: this
sector includes cable and broadcast television networks, television production operations and
distribution, domestic and international television stations and radio operations. The cable networks
include the ESPN, a channel that present many types of sports, the Disney Channels, channels that
target children and teenagers, and ABC Family, a network that have teenagers and adults as target
market. The Company also have operations in the Hungama and UTV/ Bindass cable channels in
India. This huge diversification in their media networks provide then the opportunity to reach many
people that already are clients or have the potential to become clients of the Disney products, as an
example of the diversity that the Disney network can act, we can highlight: ESPN, that present a high
variety of sport entertainment and have a target market of people of 15 years and older, the Disney
channels, that includes more of one hundred channels available in thirty four languages and have
presence in 163 countries, has as a target market kids ages 2 to 14, and the ABC Family, that produces
original live action programming and have a audience of people ages 14 to 34 age. These are just a
few examples of the huge flexibility that the Walt Disney Company have to reach their actual or

Cadbury Worldwide Case Study
It is interesting to read the article about Cadbury Worldwide. From perspectives of 3 three different
cultures. While it might be lucrative to start providing your services, or selling products across your
borders, an option should be thought of as real journey of discovering new cultures and customs of
different groups of people. It will be useful to understand them and how to do business in their
countries. Be aware of the regulation and standards are important. There are two examples of the
purchasing Cadbury UK by the American food gain Kraft and how the two work cultures of the
American and the British are different.
Cadbury is a leader in the UK confectionery market. the interaction between American managers and
British managers and workers after purchasing Cadbury by the American owned Kraft is an example
how two different cultures may clash with each other. As highlighted by Tarique, Briscoe, and Schuler
(2016) that one of the biggest mistakes the HR management of MNE s fall in is navigating through the
myriad of local laws and regulations with assumptions that worked in their homeland will work
somewhere else. The MNE s should choose the right approaches to deal with employment relations to
ensure that will have a healthy work environment and get the desired results. and productivity level.
There are seven approaches suggested. I think in the case of Cadbury UK, it will be beneficial to use
the guide and advice approach through which the parent company may provide

Summary Of Christopher Nolan s Evacuation Of Dunkirk
Q. In what ways do Christopher Nolan and ________ develop the idea of causality of war in Dunkirk
and Evacuation of Dunquecue, respectively?
Within Christopher Nolan s Film Dunkirk and _______ s poem Evacuation of Dunkirk both authors
explore the causality of war. Both texts are set in the same situation and both explore the different
aspects of the evacuation of Dunkirk from two similar but different sources. They both develop the
themes of isolation, honour and hope. Specifically, Nolan uses his filmmaking style to its essence,
resulting in scenes of simple but immensely charged visual momentum. Whilst ______ s poem
connects to the reader on an emotional level, almost giving the reader a perspective of what it was like
to be a part of the historical event.
Christopher Nolan, throughout the course of his film uses a range muted colours as well as bluish
tones in order to reflect the water and the heavy machinery. Nolan uses a range of camera techniques
including close ups, mid range, long shots as well as the most obvious overhead shots. Nolan uses
these overhead shots multiple times but especially of the soldiers distributed across a beach convey
and unnerving isolation, as it these were there last times on earth as they look as if they are alone and
deserted. Another example of how Nolan s cinematography successfully depicts the evacuation of
Dunkirk is when soldiers are found waiting for the tide in an abandoned boat. In this scene, the
German soldiers are using that

John Donne
John Donne is the name in English Literature who gave new direction to the literary activities of his
age. He is in a sense founded the metaphysical lyric, which was practiced by scare of writers. As
Dowden says, We are told that in the decline of the greater poetry of the Elizabethan period, a
metaphysical school arose and that John Donne was the founder or the first eminent member of this
school. John Donne set up a new tradition in versification by and large Donne must be regarded as an
original poet, a poet who gave much more than what he borrowed from his age. The word
metaphysical has been defined by various writers differently. The learned critics feels that

Then comes a conceit which also expresses the passion of the lovers:
SHE S ALL STATES, AND ALL PRINCES I;
NOTHING ELSE IS. The most striking and famous one is the comparison of man who travels and his
beloved who stays at home to a pair of compasses in A Valediction Of Forbidding Mourning . Here
soul of the beloved is like the fixed foot of compasses as by her inborn nature she stays at home
whereas the soul of the lover is like the other foot of compasses which moves beyond the center to
complete a circle of journey.
IF THEY BE TWO, THEY ARE TWO SO
AS STIFF TWIN COMPASSES ARE TWO,
THY SOUL THE FIX FOOT, MAKES NO SHOW
TO MOVE, BUT (DOTH) IF THE OTHER DOE.
In The Relique, John Donne imagines himself lying in a grave as a skeleton with the undeniable token
of spiritual love in the sphere of his beloved s bright lock of hair forming a bracelet about his wriste
borne and because of their great love, he and his beloved will be honored like saints,
ALL WOMEN SHALL ADORE US, AND SOME MEN. Another feature is the use of colloquial
speech which marks the metaphysical poetry. In John Donne s poems, the vigor of colloquialism is
especially apparent in the abrupt, conversational opening of many of his poems. He selected colloquial
diction which has vigor, freshness and originality. He discarded literary words and phrases which
became rusty because of repetition. Another characteristic of metaphysical poetry

RICA Case Study Essay
Case Report
During dissection, carried out in the anatomy laboratory, we found an absent right internal carotid
artery (RICA) with an extremely rare branching pattern. The specimen consists of a brain from a male
cadaver with the absence of the right internal carotid artery.
On the medial end of the stem of the left lateral sulcus, the left internal carotid artery (LICA)
bifurcated into the left middle cerebral artery (LMCA) and a single trunk. The left posterior
communicating artery arises from the left internal carotid artery just before its division. The left
middle cerebral artery enters the left lateral sulcus of Sylvius and it distributes as normally does. The
left main single trunk (LMST) runs anteromedially towards the longitudinal cerebral fissure, above the
optic tract and optic chiasm. Just at the beginning of the longitudinal cerebral fissure the left main

Keynesian Economics Essay
The U.S. never fully recovered from the Great Depression until the government employed the use of
Keynes Economics. John Maynard Keynes was a British economist whose ideas and theories have
greatly influenced the practice of modern economics as well as the economic policies of governments
worldwide. He believed that in times when the economy slowed down or encountered declines, people
would not spend as much money and therefore the economy would steadily decline until a depression
occurred. He proposed that if the government injected money into the economy, it would help
stimulate consumers to purchase more and firms would produce more as a result, in a continuous
cycle. This cycle is called the multiplier effect. Keynes ideas have ... Show more content on

The aggregate expenditures line is the summation of consumption expenditures, investment
expenditures, government purchases, and net exports. The 45 degree line represents all combinations
in which aggregate expenditures equal aggregate output. Keynesian equilibrium is also represented by
the saving investment, or injection leakage, model as the intersection between the injection line
(investment expenditures, government purchases, and exports) and the leakage line (saving, taxes, and
imports). (2) Keynes established the theory of the multiplier effect. Keynesians believe that, because
prices are somewhat predictable, variations in spending, such as consumption, investment, or
government expenditures, cause output to fluctuate. For example, if government spending increases
and all other components remain constant, then output will increase. The multiplier effect is defined as
output increases by a multiple of the original change in spending that caused it. (3) This means, that if
the government were to increase their spending by ten billion dollars, it could cause the total output to
rise by fifteen billion dollars (a multiplier of 1.5) or by five billion (a multiplier of 0.5). Thus the
money that gets injected into the economy creates a multiplier effect and promotes more circulation of
money by creating

Out Of The Depth Summary
Out of the Depths is a very interesting narrative book about retired Marine Edgar Harrell surviving the
sinking of the USS Indianapolis in 1945. Harrell grew up on a farm in Kentucky, as a little boy he
listened to the radio about the Naval Wars and Marines losing their lives, so he decided he wanted to
help. When Harrell became 18, he registered for the draft right away. The massive cruiser, the USS
Indianapolis, became his life and, more importantl, became his home. He lived on this ship serving
and fighting for his country. He remembers very precisely about the one time he saw a Japanese
Kamikaze plane hit the ship in the battle for Okinawa. He survived the attack, but nine of his friends
tragically lost their lives. The ship had to return to the states as needed for repairs, because the
Indianapolis had important components for the atomic bombs to drop on Nagasaki and Hiroshima.
While there, he noticed that the captain said that their next assignment was to head for the Philippines
to invade Japan. Harrell stated to the captain that it was necessary to have an escort through the seas to
that area as the US has already lost 129 soldiers due to Japanese attacks ... Show more content on

The torpedoes hit the ship in less than fifteen minutes causing the ship to sink. Harrell with no
hesitation immediately started to find his way out as rushing waters flooded the ship. The only thing
he could think of as he was struggling to escape from the deadly waters was his mom, dad, 6 brothers,
two sisters, and his girlfriend that said she would wait for him to come home. Harrell thinking of this
recalled to himself, I want to live, I don t want to die . He says that millions of things were going
through his brain. Him and 900 to 1,200 men who survived the attack were stranded in the sea, oil
soaked, holding onto anything that

Research Paper On Roberto Firmino
Big Game Player
Roberto Firmino also has the innate ability to turn up in the big games. We have seen relatively little
of him in the Premier League so far but his record in crunch games is good. Against the likes of
Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal he has scored 5 and assisted 3 in 8
appearances across all competitions. If you also simply look at the games where Liverpool made
tough work of the opposition, you will notice how crucial Roberto has been in the scoring. For
instance he struck twice in the 3 3 draw at Anfield to Arsenal, he scored twice and assisted once in the
thrilling last gasp 5 4 victory to Norwich at Carrow Road, he scored one and assisted the other in a
draw vs. Sunderland at Anfield and assisted the only goal of the game at Anfield against league
leaders Leicester. This of course isn t counting the second goal scored against Manchester United in
the Europa League first leg right at the death to extend Liverpool s lead crucially, thus allowing the
Merseyside club a crucial added advantage going into the second leg. Roberto Firmino has this to ...

competitions where Liverpool have fielded weakened teams . Hence, this statistic is a little difficult to

Gustavus Vassa
While visiting Hannah Hall at Texas Southern University, I saw several murals that spoke to me. One
mural in particular depicted the perfect image of distraught, anguish, and the depression Olaudah
experienced. The mural is very dark, the artist uses shadow and light to distinguish the intense
emotions of one face in three stages of grief. The background is dark, this suggests that the artist is in
a state of depression. There is a hand that is larger than the figures in scale, reaching out and grabbing
a figure of a man in deep thought. This represents God testing Olaudah s faith with trials and
tribulations. When reading The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Gustavus Vassa the African Written

Life In The Iron-Mills By Rebecca Harding Davis
The short story Life in the Iron Mills by Rebecca Harding Davis is about a town that centers around an
iron mill and the workers whose lives revolve around the mill. At the beginning of the story, this
becomes evident when the narrator says, The mills were deserted on Sundays, except by the hands
who fed the fires, and those who had no lodgings and slept usually on the ash heaps (1715). The only
day that there are not workers at the iron mill is on Sunday because most of Sunday is spent at church.
In the short story, Davis begins to suggest that there are strong, spiritual elements throughout the story.
Most people who think about God believe that God and faith can bring those who are struggling out of
the dark cloud that seems to be encompassing their lives. That is how Davis is trying to show the role
of the church and trying to show that the people in the iron mill town need ... Show more content on

Davis argues that the Spirit of God is needed to liberate the poor iron workers from their depression.
The church is supposed to be able to lift up those who need help. In so doing, the story examines a
system that was being developed and used in the mid nineteenth century in which churches created an
infrastructure within their existing spiritual framework to be proactive, organized, and responsible for
the economic welfare of the poor.
Wolfe s story reveals why the solution to the social problem methods of charity is still veiled. In the
time period the story took place, middle and upper class people always felt so great about themselves
when giving money to the poor because they thought they were helping charity cases . Now, and
probably back in the time of the iron mills

Comparing A Modest Proposal And The Essay On Man
Beginning in the 1600 s, a period of enlightenment swept through Europe. Scientists such as Sir Isaac
Newton and Thomas Hobbes made revolutionary advances in science, politics, and literature. This age
of restoration and enlightenment valued scientific reasoning, such as in Jonathon Swift s A Modest
Proposal. In addition to the emphasis on logic and intelligence, the 18th century brought forth an age
of self discovery; further explained in Alexander Pope s The Essay on Man. The Enlightenment Era
witnessed many disasters as well. For instance, in The Diary of Samuel Pepys, a man records the
events of the great fire of London. Through these pieces of literature, one can understand what major
events were happening, and how they influenced the lives of society at the time. ... Show more content

While the rich were very wealthy, the poor were severely poverty stricken. Swift s A Modest Proposal
offers a solution to the problem. Ironically, his preposition is anything but modest. He starts off by
saying Surely someone can find a fair, cheap, and easy method of making sound and useful members
of society of these children (p.567). His proposal suggests that the poor sell their children for the rich
to eat. Even though Swift s idea is preposterous, it is a logical (even if immoral) concept. Besides the
irony of the title, satire is present throughout the text. For instance, Swift writes that it will prevent
those voluntary abortions, and that horrid practice of women murdering their bastard children, alas!
(p.568). The author sounds downright horrified at the thought of taking innocent lives; despite the fact
that his proposal would kill the same innocent children. Jonathon Swift s A Modest Proposal conveys
the use of irony in literature of the enlightenment, while also displaying the significance of logical

The Constitution And The United Kingdom
A constitution is often defined as a set of rules set to regulate the system of government within a state.
Professor King in his Hamlyn Lecture defined the constitution as, the set of the most important rules
that regulate the relations among the different parts of the government of a given country and also the
relations between the different parts of the government and the people of the country . Unlike some
other democratic countries, the United Kingdom does not have a single written document entitled The
Constitution but rather it has what is referred to as an unwritten constitution .
The UK constitution is made up from a wide variety of sources, some of which are conventions while
others are as more official such as laws found in EU law. The constitution can be found in a number of
documents such as Magna Carta, the Bill of Rights, the Act of Settlement and the Parliament Acts. A
common source of the constitution includes Acts of Parliament, there exists the argument that many of
the Acts that are currently on the statute book are constitutional laws, this can be noted in the case
Thoburn v City Sunderland (2002) , where Laws LJ makes a distinctions between what he termed as
ordinary statutes and constitutional statutes . Similarly decisions of courts can also become a source of
legislation, as can the legislative supremacy of parliament, A.V. Dicey, the British jurist and
Constitutional theorist, described this as the power of law making unrestricted by any

All The World s A Stage And All Men And Women
Shakespeare had said All the world s a stage and all men and women
are merely players. Or rather, Jaques from As You Like It did, but that s
besides the point. The point is that I was watching the Lego Movie. And oh
my god is it the best movie ever. What makes it the best movie ever? Not
only does it have a great message, it also actually inspired me to write this
blog post. The movie, starts out to be your regular run of the mill animated
comedy, and moves on to create a connection between the real human world
and the Lego universe. What the cute little kid Finn imagines with his toys,
translates into the actual movie we are watching, and the characters are
living. A movie within a movie Movie ception! Which led me to thinking,
maybe this bubble called life is nothing more than...a movie.
A movie that we act in, direct, produce, write, create an original soundtrack
of, so on...and finally view and review. So perhaps the point really was
what Shakespeare had said. For him, life was a seven act play. And so it
shall be for all you theatre lovers out there (I also speak to my own drama geek self). And for my blog
post point of view and that of every single
movie buff out there, life shall be a movie. Shakespeare said it, and now it s
my turn.

sometimes seems nothing more than just a dream. I have had many

Comparison Of Classism In Desiree s Baby And A Rose For Emily
Take everything you know about racism, sexism, and religionism and toss it out the window, because
there s an impediment to prosperity that is often underlooked: Classism. Classism is a suppression
which always has and always will continue to affect our everyday lives. The disparities that presently
exist between the lower and higher classes form a condition where it is unlikely to allow for equality
for anyone. The short stories A Rose of Emily, written by William Faulkner, and Desiree s Baby,
written by Kate Chopin, offered several depictions of classism within a society. A Rose for Emily
recounts the life of an isolated, aristocratic woman named Emily Grierson who symbolically
represents the demise of the old Southern society. Similarly, Désirée s Baby portrays classism present
in mid nineteenth century Southern society in conjunction with the inequalities that exist between
race. Class prejudice plays an important role as it was behind the emergence of the characters
unspeakable actions. In A Rose for Emily and Desiree s Baby, classism is emphasized and provokes
arrogance, denial, and the demise of others.
Denial is a recurring theme in both stories rendered by those who believe to be in a higher class. In A
Rose for Emily, Emily is depicted as an isolated woman who is so attached to the customs and
aristocracy of the past to the degree that she cannot accept change. Emily considers herself as a
wealthy and powerful spinster, and her family s position

military, but is a bold passion for your nation the sole reason to join? The answer is no. There are
numerous benefits to joining the military aside from the privilege to serve our great nation. These
benefits range from the pay, financial assistance, free education, character refinement, to good
retirement.
The military is not notorious for its ability to pay in abundance; however, after considering the
additional payments that the military offers, the pay may seem more appealing. Just like with civilian
employees who get paid more depending on how long they stay with an employer and the duration of
their education, those in the military are paid in the same way. For instance, officers in the military are
required to have an extended education depending on their path, while those who are enlisted are only
required to at least have a GED. Hence, a commissioned officer ranked as an O 8 who has served for 2
years is paid roughly 10,487.70 dollars a month, while an enlisted member who has served 8 years and
ranked as an E 8 is paid roughly 4,136.10 dollars a month. This is only basic pay though, the military
also offers special pay for those with specialized or hazardous jobs, and allowances. Military
allowances are given to those in service

How Does Reflexology Work
Reflexology is a form of alternative medicine that focuses on the soles of the feet and sometimes the
palms of the hands. The zone therapy theory behind reflexology was first introduced in 1915 by an
ear, nose and throat doctor named William Fitzgerald. It was later developed into modern reflexology
by American physiotherapist Eunice Ingram. Practitioners believe that certain regions on the hands
and feet correspond to other parts of the body, including internal organs and glands, and applying
pressure to these points can encourage health in the corresponding areas through natural energy
pathways. Although reflexology is not proven to directly affect the course of disease, many who
receive it report relief of physical symptoms.
How Does Reflexology Work?
One way reflexology may work is by relaxing the body and relieving stress, which encourages natural
healing and regeneration. Another theory is that it works with the central nervous system, taking
advantage of the connections between peripheral nerves, skin and internal organs. The application of
pressure to specific points sends a message to peripheral nerves to adjust the corresponding areas

It begins with the reflexologist obtaining a medical history and a few details about your lifestyle and
current symptoms. Next, you ll remove your socks and shoes and recline on a massage table or in a
comfortable chair. The reflexologist will examine and evaluate your feet. He or she will stimulate
various points on the sole of each foot; this will help identify areas of tenderness and muscle tension.
To warm your feet up, brisk movements and moderate pressure are applied from the toes to the heel.
Specific areas that need work then receive more intense treatment. Reflexology of the hand is
conducted in a similar fashion. Treatments should not be painful. If you experience pain, alert your

Assumption of Risk
In the Dillworth v. Gambardella, 776 F. Supp. 170 (D. Vt. 1991) is a case where the
Plaintiff sues a skier that feel and thereby knocking down the plaintiff who feel and injured his back.
The jury came back with a defendant verdict and the plaintiff ïŹles a motion for a new trial on the
grounds that the court made an error in instructing the jury as to the Vermont Sports
Injury Statute and its relation to the doctrine of assumption of risk and the applications to this case.
The appellate court denied their motion for a new trial and stated that the sports injury statute applied
to participants in any sport. The Assumption of Risk doctrine states that

This inheritance of assumptions of risk and if the action is applicable to the case is a question of fact
for the jury, and therefore the jury in this matter found it applicable, which was not thereby applicable
for a new trial.
The jury in the Dillworth matter applied the assumption of risks to all participants in sports, not just
the operators of ski resort. In regards to dangerous activities and sports in general the court stated that
when a primary assumption of the risk exists there is no liability to the plaintiff because there is no
negligence on the part of the defendant to begin with; the danger to the plaintiff is not one which the
defendant is required to extinguish or warn about. Having no duty to begin with, there is no breach of
duty to constitute negligence, showing that even other participants not just those in charge of the
activity can not be negligent for risks that are inherent to the activity. This assumption of risk has a
broader appeal than just skiing and was stated that A person who takes part in any sport, including
skiing, accepts as a

Duckweed Research Paper
Duckweed is a simple, small aquatic flowering plant that grows in colonies, which form dense
coverings on water surfaces. They are one of the most vigorously growing plants on Earth. There are
many types of duckweed, but throughout this experiment the Lemna trisulca type of duckweed was
used. Each leaf of the duckweed plant is called a frond and a colony is called a Microcosm. The fronds
are a vibrant, green color when they are living, but they are white when they are dead. Duckweed is an
important plant because it grows rapidly in ideal conditions. It floats on water surfaces, making it easy
to harvest. In addition, the tissue is soft so it can be processed simply. It could be used as a food
source for animals in the future, as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The data collected shows that over time, the duckweed will die if it is placed in soap water. The
duckweed growth decreases by a small amount in D.I. water, as well. Both the number of fronds and
the total frond area decreases or falls to zero after a period of time, when duckweed is grown in soap
contaminated water. Overall, the frond number and total frond area for duckweed grown in D.I. water
falls slightly. This data supports the alternative hypothesis that if the duckweed is placed in water
contaminated with soap, then the growth and number of duckweed fronds will decrease. This decrease
in growth from contamination occurs because duckweed needs the proper nutrients to grow and
prosper. In addition, duckweed will die in soap contaminated water because it is not adept to grow in
such conditions. The duckweed grew slowly or not at all in the D.I. water because they may not have
received enough sunlight over the time period. The window may not have let the necessary amounts of
light in for the plants to survive. Another reason for the decrease in growth of the duckweed in D.I.
water could be that the initial colonies were not strong enough to survive on their own. They may have
been damaged before they were placed into the

Masters of deception: Male Cuttlefish are coming to Steal Your Girl
Do you think you can keep other males away from your female partner by guarding her 24/7? You
know what? You cannot...Not if you re a male mourning cuttlefish. Biologists from Macquaire
University, Sydney have found out that by abusing their exceptional visual signaling skills male
cuttlefish are able to steal partners of rival males in front of their eyes!
Mourning cuttlefish are small marine animals which are 15cm on average and belong to the group
(Cephalapoda class to be specific) which include squids and octopus and their relatives. Mourning
cuttlefish live on eastern coasts of Australia. These animals like their relatives, are extremely social
and have high cognitive abilities. They are mostly known for their incredible ability to change color
and texture of their skin.
These cuttlefish use their ability to change the color of their skin for various purposes including
camouflage and communication with other cuttlefish and other animals. It was their ability to use their
changing coloration for communicating with their kind which attracted attention ... Show more

They also did some additional observations on captive cuttlefish which, in my opinion, may not be so
reliable because it is known that behavior of animals can change substantially during captivity due to
unrealistic social and physical surrounding of the individuals. What the scientists did during their
observations was they followed a male cuttlefish and took photos of close encounters of the individual
with other individuals. The photos were taken so that both sides the male s body is visible in the
photo. They also recorded the number of individuals within the social interaction group and their

Motif Of Chaos Essay
According to the Webster dictionary , a motif is a dominant idea or literary feature. In the days of
mythological writing, it was not uncommon for many cultures to include similar ideas or morals.
These motifs are three of the main motifs that drew my attention: the motif of chaos, the reason for
more than one god, and why humans were put on earth.
Motif #1: An Explanation for Chaos There are many obvious motifs included in all the myths
discussed. One of the main motifs used in multiple myths was the explanation for chaos. Many
cultures believed that the chaos the gods put upon the people was retaliation of the actions. Another
theory is that the gods caused chaos to show their people that there would not always be all good, and
that good ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For one god to have to manage the world and care for its people would be a massive amount of
responsibility. As a result, many cultures had multiple creators. Inclusion to this motif would be that
these cultures thought that having multiple gods or leaders in charge would have a better outcome.
The cultures that believed in having shared responsibility were the Incas, the Mayans, and the
Maoriall. In the Inca creation myth, Pachacamac created his wife to help him rule the world. In the
Mayan creation myth, Tepeu and Gucumatz shared the responsibility of caring for the earth and its
people. In the Maori creation myth, Te Pƍ came from Te Kore to help care for the earth.
Motif #3: Why humans were put on earth In most creation myths, humans were created to care for
earth. It is my opinion that so many cultures had humans created to care for the earth so that earth
could function. Humans were created to Be fertile and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it. In the
Christian Tradition myth, these are the words of God the creator himself. He created man to care for
the earth that He created. Women were made to be man s partner and man was made to care for the
earth or to be a slave for the

Attempting to Generate Virus-Like Particles From an Llarvirus
Nanotechnology is the control and manipulation of variously sized particles ranging between 1 to 100
nanometers (Doll, Raman, Dey, Burkhard, 2012). Virus and virus like particles, due to their multiple
capsid sites, allow for the addition of peptides and the manipulation of their genetic material and
protein subunits (Strable Finn, 2009). Scientists, as they learn more about the production and
alteration of these particles, have discovered their true chemical flexibility and ability to assemble into
useful nanotechnologies. As a result of these unique qualities, virus like particles are key particles in
nanotechnology, especially in areas such as vaccination, tumor targeting treatments, and other
scientific fields (Strable Finn, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nanotechnology, the manipulation of matter on the molecular scale, can be applied to numerous
scientific fields, such as medicine, surface chemistry, micro fabrication, and organic chemistry
(Destito, Schneemann Manchester, 2009). In general, these small sized particles are used to improve
the functioning of commercial products and, in the subsection of nanomedicine, are used for
therapeutics, tumor targeting, and vaccines (Crisci, BĂĄrcena Montoya, 2012). For example, the use of
molecular nanotechnology improves vehicle fuel cells and catalytic converters, helps filter
wastewater, and strengthens commercial products, such as bowling balls and glue. (Doll et. al., 2012).
Harisinghani, through multiple experiments, also discovered that nanoparticles such as iron oxide can
be used to image lymph nodes in patients with prostate cancer (Destito et. al., 2009). However, even
with their vast range of applications, nanotechnology continues to raise issues on its toxicity and
negative impact on the environment (Destito et. al., 2009).
Viruses In 1844, it was demonstrated by Adolph Mayer that infectious agents were still being
transmitted to plants even when the infected sap was filtered through the Chamberland Pasteur filter, a
filter which isolated all bacteria from a liquid sample. As a result, new transmittable particles were
discovered: viruses. Viruses are

through a series of barracks where they are shaved, stripped of their clothes and disinfected with

because I would not want to be beaten or killed myself. Finally the prisoners including Elie and his
father are escorted to the camp of Buna. Shortly after arriving prisoners are given a medical exam and

Matewan Feudalism
Feudalism and Capitalism
Economic processes are those involving the production and distribution of goods and services.
However, they do not alone determine this production and distribution. There is an interrelationship of
economic, cultural, environmental, and political processes that all help to shape each other. Nothing
that we do can be defined as a single process, for it is the interaction itself that helps to produce the
final results that we observe. To understand this more fully the following basic definitions may be of
use: Cultural Processes are those that involve the creation and transfer of knowledge the production of
meaning. Political processes are those by which we establish and enforce rules, and they ... Show

Films are important and useful tools for the analytical process that needs to take place when searching
for the answers to the questions. Films are understood to be, among other things, the product of a
particular economic theory or set of theories (which can be contradictory), to teach particular theories
(including economic theories), and to provide an objective for analysis using economic theory.
(Professor Gabriel) It is with this in mind that the films of Matewan and Norma Rae are of importance
to us when analyzing the concepts of feudalism and capitalism, because they are films that contain in
them examples from these two types of economic systems. While the concept of unions is prevalent in
both films, the reasons for their existence and the results of their existence appear to be quite different,
but important all the same. Thus, the films can also be used to help increase our understanding of the
importance and the role of unions in society.
John Sayles, the writer and director of Matewan, produces for the audience a true depiction of the
West Virginian coal mining community of 1920. At a surface level viewing and examination of the
film, many might be tempted to view the environment that is created as capitalist. After all, the
workers do get paid for their services. However, upon a much deeper, more in depth inspection one
could argue that there is much evidence to

Analysis Of The Movie Bird
On August 29th, 1920, Charlie YardBird Parker landed in this world and 34 years later he flew away.
Within those 34 years, music was eternally influenced by Bird, and this influence continues to be
celebrated all around the world. In 1988, Clint Eastwood and Joel Oliansky worked together to create
a documentary titled Bird based on Charlie Parker s life. There are many story telling techniques used
within this film that aid in making it an extremely brilliant motion picture. Bird is very accurate in
portraying the reality of Charlie Parker s life, and this accuracy is important because it will help to
present and therefore preserve his legacy. A legacy that will intrigue and inspire musicians
forevermore.

Movie critic for the Chicago Sun Times Roger Ebert explains this scene, It shows him touring the
West Coast and hearing some simple truths one night from Gillespie, who told him that the difference
between them was that Diz took care of business, and Charlie took care of screwing up. Gillespie was
not a heavy drinker or an avid drug user, unlike Charlie. In that way these two musical legends were
complete opposites. Because Bird focuses on this contrasting relationship, we are given a clearer idea
of who Parker was.
Included in the aspects of Bird that make it such a great film is the outstanding acting performance by
Forest Whitaker, who played Charlie Parker, and Diane Venora who played Chan Richardson. Some
critics believe that Bird was a bit too scattered, but was held together smoothly because of Forest
Whitaker s acting. Forest Whitaker s brilliance is the force that holds the scattered pieces of Bird
together. Only rarely in movies do characters achieve this sort of palpability, and then only when
presented to us by a remarkable performer. And this is a remarkable performer giving a gentle,
exuberant, charismatic performance, proclaims Washington Post Staff Writer Hal Hinson. With such
pressure to portray the center focus of the film, Whitaker truly delivers an excellent representation of
the mysterious musical genius many of us have gotten to know through recordings. Diane Venora s

Deviance And Violence In Sports Analysis
After reading both chapters, I found the constructionist approach on deviance important as it allows
for diversity within sports. It would be extremely boring if individuals in a particular sport had the
same style of playing. The games would suffer due to a lack of excitement and possible funding that
are generated from sold tickets and merchandise. Because of its raw nature and physical violence, I
think sports such as Mixed martial arts are a great example of how deviance and violence fall into
sports. Numerous individuals including myself find these sports interesting as the athletes withhold a
sport ethic that shows deviant overconformity. In MMA matches, mixed martial artists can be seen
with bloody faces and visible bruises, yet they still continue to fight in order to gain distinction for

Age Norms Within The Age
Age represents the length and duration of someone s life however; age also comes with an individuals
experience and maturity throughout his lifespan. Age norms are considered to be what society believes
an individual should act due to their own age. For example, having a job as bus boy at a restaurant
would fall under the category of age norms because typically teens are the ones who occupy these
kinds of jobs. As opposed to being older, the age norms appropriate for a waiter is someone who is a
young adult or older. The difference in age norms in these two jobs is being a waiter justifies you
being an adult in comparison to being a bus boy, which people of younger age usually occupy.
Acting your own age signifies the maturity one has. Although from time to time, we find ourselves not
acting our age in social situations. For example, the way I behave myself with my friends totally
differs from the way I behave with my parents. When I am with my parents I behave in a more formal
matter on the other hand, when I hang out with my friends the level of maturity and formality drops
enormously. When I am with my friends I feel that I don t need to act my age because I am
comfortable and let loose easier then if I am with my parents. A social situation in where I typically
don t act my age in is at concerts. In reality, concerts are age appropriate for everyone but it s the way
I react to the music and how I let loose that affects my level of maturity to act my age. When, I

  • 2. Macbeth And The Grave Diggers In Hamlet By William... The scene takes place in the most suspenseful moment of the play. There has been a series of tragic scenes before the grave digger scene. Polonius is killed by Hamlet in Claudius s bed chamber and as a result Claudius orders Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to prepare to take Hamlet with them to England. Ophelia goes mad and soon Laertes arrives with mob. Soon Hamlet sends back letters to Horatio and the king that he is coming. So when the audience waits to see the ultimate outcome of all these happenings the two grave diggers come on the stage and engage themselves in a legalistic chop logic. Thus the grave diggers provide a broad comic relief to an otherwise deadly serious and grim tragedy. The occasional admission of comic ingredient in a tragedy or comic relief is used to calm down the tragic feeling momentarily in order to make it more intensifying. Though Aristotle in his Poetics does not make allowance for the dilution series action, the Elizabethan dramas are replete with instances of the combination of the comic and the tragic elements. This tendency of using the comic in tragedy and its final canonization also became popular in Shakespeare. The comic relief is a regular feature in Shakespeare. The part played by fool in Kinglear, porter in Macbeth is the same as the apart played by the grave diggers in Hamlet. The scene opens with the legalistic chop logic between two grave diggers.Commenting on the Ophelia s death by drowning, the first clown speaks in a light hearted ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Hollywood Vs. The History And Legends Of Vampires Hollywood vs the History and legends of vampires. Has Hollywood represented the long and deep history of vampires in its motion pictures? Hollywood has turned how we view a demon blood sucking like creature into something so different in each of its approaches. Does Hollywood portray the way vampires appear in history? Or do they glamorize and exaggerate everything about them. It s simple, you can break down the Hollywood vampire into three categories. The desirable vampire. That is beautiful, attractive and desirable. They show you a world of perfection and the beauty of immortality. The horrifying vampire. That is scary, blood driven. Showing you a world of lust and death. Then finally the mix of the two. Vampire have been made out to be a lot of thing over the years of history. Vampires are evil mythological beings who roam the world at night searching for people whose blood they feed upon. They may be the best known classic monsters of all. Most people associate vampires with Count Dracula, the legendary, blood sucking subject of Bram Stoker s epic novel, Dracula, which was published in 1897. But the history of vampires began long before Stoker was born. (History.com Staff A+E Networks, 2017). Many people also believed that vampire s legends came from bats vampire bats but the legends and myths go much deeper and older. Vampires can be traced to Greek mythology in the story of a young Italian man named Ambrogio and love of his life, Selena. The story includes many ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Pride can be a user of good or evil all depending on how we feed it. Merriam Webster defines pride three different ways in one it defines pide as a sense of self respect that is reasonable and justifiable, the second is defined as sense of being better than others, and lastly the third is defined as pleasure from an act or possessions. I believe people should hold onto their pride however have caution and never let it sprout into pride that consumes your mind and leads you to believe you are above others. In other words when the seed of pride sprouts lead it down the path where we still hold on to dignity. In a sense, pride must be balanced for the benefit of yourself. In the article Why Pride is Nothing to Be Proud Of by John Amondeo Ph.D. it states We might believe that healthy self worth means taking pride in our achievement. Bolloso Department of Biological Sciences College of Science, University of Santo Tomas Espana, Manila Abstract Sound is a mechanical wave that is an oscillation of pressure transmitted through a solid, liquid, or gas, composed of frequencies within the range of hearing and of a level sufficiently strong to be heard. It is produced when something vibrates causing its the medium (water, air, etc.) around it to vibrate as well. In common everyday speech, speed of sound refers to the speed of sound waves in air. Sound travels faster in liquids and non porous solids than it does in air. In this experiment, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The wavelength of the sound produced was computed. 2 more trials were made and the average wavelength was computed. By using the average wavelength and the frequency engraved in the tuning fork, the velocity of sound in air inside the glass tube was compted. The temperature was then determined and the speed of sound was then computed. Activity 2: The vernier microphone was connected to channel 1 of the interface. The microphone was positioned near the open end of the close tube. The file 24 speed of sound in physics with computer file was opened. The data collection begins after the snapping the fingers or clap your hands near the tube. The time interval between the start of the first vibration and the start of the echo vibration was determined using the graph. The speed of sound was then computed by dividing the length of the tube by Âœ of the time interval obtains in step 5. The % error was then computed. Activity 3: A thin layer of cork dust as uniformly as possible inside the kundt s tube was placed. The rod was then clamped at its center. The rod was rubbed with a piece of cloth with coarse poweder. This will set the rod into vibration producing a sound of high frequency. A standing wave pattern will be formed in the cork dust inside the glass tube. The distances between two consecutive displacement nodes were measured. The average distance was computed. As highlighted by Tarique, Briscoe, and Schuler (2016) that one of the biggest mistakes the HR management of MNE s fall in is navigating through the myriad of local laws and regulations with assumptions that worked in their homeland will work somewhere else. The MNE s should choose the right approaches to deal with employment relations to ensure that will have a healthy work environment and get the desired results. and productivity level. • 10. Summary Of Christopher Nolan s Evacuation Of Dunkirk Q. In what ways do Christopher Nolan and ________ develop the idea of causality of war in Dunkirk and Evacuation of Dunquecue, respectively? Within Christopher Nolan s Film Dunkirk and _______ s poem Evacuation of Dunkirk both authors explore the causality of war. Both texts are set in the same situation and both explore the different aspects of the evacuation of Dunkirk from two similar but different sources. They both develop the themes of isolation, honour and hope. Specifically, Nolan uses his filmmaking style to its essence, resulting in scenes of simple but immensely charged visual momentum. Whilst ______ s poem connects to the reader on an emotional level, almost giving the reader a perspective of what it was like to be a part of the historical event. Christopher Nolan, throughout the course of his film uses a range muted colours as well as bluish tones in order to reflect the water and the heavy machinery. Nolan uses a range of camera techniques including close ups, mid range, long shots as well as the most obvious overhead shots. Nolan uses these overhead shots multiple times but especially of the soldiers distributed across a beach convey and unnerving isolation, as it these were there last times on earth as they look as if they are alone and deserted. Then comes a conceit which also expresses the passion of the lovers: SHE S ALL STATES, AND ALL PRINCES I; NOTHING ELSE IS. The most striking and famous one is the comparison of man who travels and his beloved who stays at home to a pair of compasses in A Valediction Of Forbidding Mourning . Here soul of the beloved is like the fixed foot of compasses as by her inborn nature she stays at home whereas the soul of the lover is like the other foot of compasses which moves beyond the center to complete a circle of journey. IF THEY BE TWO, THEY ARE TWO SO AS STIFF TWIN COMPASSES ARE TWO, THY SOUL THE FIX FOOT, MAKES NO SHOW TO MOVE, BUT (DOTH) IF THE OTHER DOE. In The Relique, John Donne imagines himself lying in a grave as a skeleton with the undeniable token of spiritual love in the sphere of his beloved s bright lock of hair forming a bracelet about his wriste borne and because of their great love, he and his beloved will be honored like saints, ALL WOMEN SHALL ADORE US, AND SOME MEN. Another feature is the use of colloquial speech which marks the metaphysical poetry. The specimen consists of a brain from a male cadaver with the absence of the right internal carotid artery. On the medial end of the stem of the left lateral sulcus, the left internal carotid artery (LICA) bifurcated into the left middle cerebral artery (LMCA) and a single trunk. The left posterior communicating artery arises from the left internal carotid artery just before its division. • 14. Keynesian Economics Essay The U.S. never fully recovered from the Great Depression until the government employed the use of Keynes Economics. John Maynard Keynes was a British economist whose ideas and theories have greatly influenced the practice of modern economics as well as the economic policies of governments worldwide. He believed that in times when the economy slowed down or encountered declines, people would not spend as much money and therefore the economy would steadily decline until a depression occurred. He proposed that if the government injected money into the economy, it would help stimulate consumers to purchase more and firms would produce more as a result, in a continuous cycle. This cycle is called the multiplier effect. Keynes ideas have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The aggregate expenditures line is the summation of consumption expenditures, investment expenditures, government purchases, and net exports. The 45 degree line represents all combinations in which aggregate expenditures equal aggregate output. Keynesian equilibrium is also represented by the saving investment, or injection leakage, model as the intersection between the injection line (investment expenditures, government purchases, and exports) and the leakage line (saving, taxes, and imports). (2) Keynes established the theory of the multiplier effect. Keynesians believe that, because prices are somewhat predictable, variations in spending, such as consumption, investment, or government expenditures, cause output to fluctuate. For example, if government spending increases and all other components remain constant, then output will increase. The multiplier effect is defined as output increases by a multiple of the original change in spending that caused it. (3) This means, that if the government were to increase their spending by ten billion dollars, it could cause the total output to rise by fifteen billion dollars (a multiplier of 1.5) or by five billion (a multiplier of 0.5). Thus the money that gets injected into the economy creates a multiplier effect and promotes more circulation of money by creating ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Harrell grew up on a farm in Kentucky, as a little boy he listened to the radio about the Naval Wars and Marines losing their lives, so he decided he wanted to help. When Harrell became 18, he registered for the draft right away. The massive cruiser, the USS Indianapolis, became his life and, more importantl, became his home. He lived on this ship serving and fighting for his country. He remembers very precisely about the one time he saw a Japanese Kamikaze plane hit the ship in the battle for Okinawa. He survived the attack, but nine of his friends tragically lost their lives. The ship had to return to the states as needed for repairs, because the Indianapolis had important components for the atomic bombs to drop on Nagasaki and Hiroshima. While there, he noticed that the captain said that their next assignment was to head for the Philippines to invade Japan. Life In The Iron-Mills By Rebecca Harding Davis The short story Life in the Iron Mills by Rebecca Harding Davis is about a town that centers around an iron mill and the workers whose lives revolve around the mill. At the beginning of the story, this becomes evident when the narrator says, The mills were deserted on Sundays, except by the hands who fed the fires, and those who had no lodgings and slept usually on the ash heaps (1715). The only day that there are not workers at the iron mill is on Sunday because most of Sunday is spent at church. In the short story, Davis begins to suggest that there are strong, spiritual elements throughout the story. Scientists such as Sir Isaac Newton and Thomas Hobbes made revolutionary advances in science, politics, and literature. This age of restoration and enlightenment valued scientific reasoning, such as in Jonathon Swift s A Modest Proposal. In addition to the emphasis on logic and intelligence, the 18th century brought forth an age of self discovery; further explained in Alexander Pope s The Essay on Man. The Enlightenment Era witnessed many disasters as well. For instance, in The Diary of Samuel Pepys, a man records the events of the great fire of London. While the rich were very wealthy, the poor were severely poverty stricken. Swift s A Modest Proposal offers a solution to the problem. Ironically, his preposition is anything but modest. He starts off by saying Surely someone can find a fair, cheap, and easy method of making sound and useful members of society of these children (p.567). His proposal suggests that the poor sell their children for the rich to eat. Even though Swift s idea is preposterous, it is a logical (even if immoral) concept. Besides the irony of the title, satire is present throughout the text. For instance, Swift writes that it will prevent those voluntary abortions, and that horrid practice of women murdering their bastard children, alas! (p.568). Unlike some other democratic countries, the United Kingdom does not have a single written document entitled The Constitution but rather it has what is referred to as an unwritten constitution . The UK constitution is made up from a wide variety of sources, some of which are conventions while others are as more official such as laws found in EU law. The constitution can be found in a number of documents such as Magna Carta, the Bill of Rights, the Act of Settlement and the Parliament Acts. A common source of the constitution includes Acts of Parliament, there exists the argument that many of the Acts that are currently on the statute book are constitutional laws, this can be noted in the case Thoburn v City Sunderland (2002) , where Laws LJ makes a distinctions between what he termed as ordinary statutes and constitutional statutes . Comparison Of Classism In Desiree s Baby And A Rose For Emily Take everything you know about racism, sexism, and religionism and toss it out the window, because there s an impediment to prosperity that is often underlooked: Classism. Classism is a suppression which always has and always will continue to affect our everyday lives. The disparities that presently exist between the lower and higher classes form a condition where it is unlikely to allow for equality for anyone. The short stories A Rose of Emily, written by William Faulkner, and Desiree s Baby, written by Kate Chopin, offered several depictions of classism within a society. A Rose for Emily recounts the life of an isolated, aristocratic woman named Emily Grierson who symbolically represents the demise of the old Southern society. It is known that over millions of men and women have joined the military, but is a bold passion for your nation the sole reason to join? The answer is no. There are numerous benefits to joining the military aside from the privilege to serve our great nation. These benefits range from the pay, financial assistance, free education, character refinement, to good retirement. The military is not notorious for its ability to pay in abundance; however, after considering the additional payments that the military offers, the pay may seem more appealing. Just like with civilian employees who get paid more depending on how long they stay with an employer and the duration of their education, those in the military are paid in the same way. For instance, officers in the military are required to have an extended education depending on their path, while those who are enlisted are only required to at least have a GED. Hence, a commissioned officer ranked as an O 8 who has served for 2 years is paid roughly 10,487.70 dollars a month, while an enlisted member who has served 8 years and ranked as an E 8 is paid roughly 4,136.10 dollars a month. The zone therapy theory behind reflexology was first introduced in 1915 by an ear, nose and throat doctor named William Fitzgerald. It was later developed into modern reflexology by American physiotherapist Eunice Ingram. Practitioners believe that certain regions on the hands and feet correspond to other parts of the body, including internal organs and glands, and applying pressure to these points can encourage health in the corresponding areas through natural energy pathways. Although reflexology is not proven to directly affect the course of disease, many who receive it report relief of physical symptoms. How Does Reflexology Work? One way reflexology may work is by relaxing the body and relieving stress, which encourages natural healing and regeneration. Another theory is that it works with the central nervous system, taking advantage of the connections between peripheral nerves, skin and internal organs. Nanotechnology, the manipulation of matter on the molecular scale, can be applied to numerous scientific fields, such as medicine, surface chemistry, micro fabrication, and organic chemistry (Destito, Schneemann Manchester, 2009). In general, these small sized particles are used to improve the functioning of commercial products and, in the subsection of nanomedicine, are used for therapeutics, tumor targeting, and vaccines (Crisci, BĂĄrcena Montoya, 2012). For example, the use of molecular nanotechnology improves vehicle fuel cells and catalytic converters, helps filter wastewater, and strengthens commercial products, such as bowling balls and glue. (Doll et. al., 2012). Harisinghani, through multiple experiments, also discovered that nanoparticles such as iron oxide can be used to image lymph nodes in patients with prostate cancer (Destito et. al., 2009). However, even with their vast range of applications, nanotechnology continues to raise issues on its toxicity and negative impact on the environment (Destito et. al., 2009). Viruses In 1844, it was demonstrated by Adolph Mayer that infectious agents were still being transmitted to plants even when the infected sap was filtered through the Chamberland Pasteur filter, a filter which isolated all bacteria from a liquid sample. Elie lives in the town of Sighet he also lives with his parents and two older sisters, I actually find that quite ironic because I have two older sisters. He also has a cabbala teacher named moshe the beadle who is often described as awkward. Moshe is deported by the hungarians because he was a jew. After several months in captivity Moshe returns telling stories of how at the Polish border the jews were handed over to the Nazis and were forced to dig their own graves and were killed. But no one in the town believes his stories of mass killings. I can actually accept the fact that they did not believe him because what they were doing to the jews was inconceivable. Later once ... After the account with the guard Elie and his father witness babies being burned in a pit and kids and adults being burned in a furnace. If I witnessed this I would be very disturbed for months and weeks to come. Elie has trouble sleeping that night after witnessing all of that and I think I would definitely also have a hard time sleeping. In the morning they are awoken by a strict guard shortly after this they are run through a series of barracks where they are shaved, stripped of their clothes and disinfected with gasoline and then given prison clothes. Elie s father is beaten for asking to use the bathroom by the kapo. Elie is disturbed how he did nothing to help his father. I would probably do nothing as well because I would not want to be beaten or killed myself. Finally the prisoners including Elie and his father are escorted to the camp of Buna. However, they do not alone determine this production and distribution. There is an interrelationship of economic, cultural, environmental, and political processes that all help to shape each other. Nothing that we do can be defined as a single process, for it is the interaction itself that helps to produce the final results that we observe. To understand this more fully the following basic definitions may be of use: Cultural Processes are those that involve the creation and transfer of knowledge the production of meaning. Films are important and useful tools for the analytical process that needs to take place when searching for the answers to the questions. Films are understood to be, among other things, the product of a particular economic theory or set of theories (which can be contradictory), to teach particular theories (including economic theories), and to provide an objective for analysis using economic theory. (Professor Gabriel) It is with this in mind that the films of Matewan and Norma Rae are of importance to us when analyzing the concepts of feudalism and capitalism, because they are films that contain in them examples from these two types of economic systems. While the concept of unions is prevalent in both films, the reasons for their existence and the results of their existence appear to be quite different, but important all the same. Thus, the films can also be used to help increase our understanding of the importance and the role of unions in society. John Sayles, the writer and director of Matewan, produces for the audience a true depiction of the West Virginian coal mining community of 1920. At a surface level viewing and examination of the film, many might be tempted to view the environment that is created as capitalist. After all, the workers do get paid for their services. However, upon a much deeper, more in depth inspection one could argue that there is much evidence to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Gillespie was not a heavy drinker or an avid drug user, unlike Charlie. In that way these two musical legends were complete opposites. Because Bird focuses on this contrasting relationship, we are given a clearer idea of who Parker was. Included in the aspects of Bird that make it such a great film is the outstanding acting performance by Forest Whitaker, who played Charlie Parker, and Diane Venora who played Chan Richardson. Some critics believe that Bird was a bit too scattered, but was held together smoothly because of Forest Whitaker s acting. Forest Whitaker s brilliance is the force that holds the scattered pieces of Bird together. Only rarely in movies do characters achieve this sort of palpability, and then only when presented to us by a remarkable performer. And this is a remarkable performer giving a gentle, exuberant, charismatic performance, proclaims Washington Post Staff Writer Hal Hinson. Moreover at this stage, there is a serious lack of Product Innovation and Process Efficiency Management where the operations of the firm are not even considered as the source of revenue (Slack, Brandon Jones, Johnston, Betts, July 2015).We can confirm this from the case study where it was mentioned that Rolls Royce at 1960s ... • 40. Age Norms Within The Age Age represents the length and duration of someone s life however; age also comes with an individuals experience and maturity throughout his lifespan. Age norms are considered to be what society believes an individual should act due to their own age. For example, having a job as bus boy at a restaurant would fall under the category of age norms because typically teens are the ones who occupy these kinds of jobs. As opposed to being older, the age norms appropriate for a waiter is someone who is a young adult or older. The difference in age norms in these two jobs is being a waiter justifies you being an adult in comparison to being a bus boy, which people of younger age usually occupy. Acting your own age signifies the maturity one has. Although from time to time, we find ourselves not acting our age in social situations. For example, the way I behave myself with my friends totally differs from the way I behave with my parents. When I am with my parents I behave in a more formal matter on the other hand, when I hang out with my friends the level of maturity and formality drops enormously. When I am with my friends I feel that I don t need to act my age because I am comfortable and let loose easier then if I am with my parents. A social situation in where I typically don t act my age in is at concerts. In reality, concerts are age appropriate for everyone but it s the way I react to the music and how I let loose that affects my level of maturity to act my age. When, I ...
