Working Title: Euro Gamer
Audience:
My target audience is leaning towards 16 to 28 year old male and female gamers. However, I
think that a lot of older people will be more likely to buy the magazine. Abc1 will more likely
be the ones to buy my magazine because they have the most disposable income.
Rationale
The reason I picked the magazine front cover and double page spread as well as a website
because I didn’t really have much choice on what I had to do. The only choice I had was the
topic of my magazine and website. I chose two different subjects because I wanted to try
something different.
Project Concept
the concept for my project is an easy to read magazine and front cover as well asa simple
website unrelated to the magazine to show off my knowledge on other subjects. The
magazine front cover and double-page spread is on gaming, mainly for PC (Computer)
gamers but could also be related to console as well. I tried to keep my magazine front cover
short and sweet to get the reader to want to know more by buying the magazine or the
content inside. I think that my double page spread is also nice to read because the layout is
simple. An image on the left page and a follow up on the right hand side is done in so many
magazinesthat I didn’t think it could really go too wrong. I stuck to the basics so that if I felt
that it could be better I just worked on touching it up a little bit to make it better or more
appealing to the target audience. Also, I felt like a really complex design would be a little off
putting.
My website on the other hand was a bit more complex with the number of separate pages
and links leading to a new location. I had planned every page of the website and knew that I
wanted it to be about motorbikes because I am really interested in them and I know a lot of
people that are too. I created my homepage which explained what the website was about
and how it came to be. I then made a contact/subscription box for the bottom for future
updates as well as a weekly newsletter. After I finished my homepage I made a bar at the
top leading to 3 other pages. The next page I created was a videos page which included 3
short videos on what the website is about, how many people are into riding, and a
compilation of a few of my mates doing stunts. The third page wasa gallery. Super simple
to do, I just got 7 or 8 imagesof motorbikes on the internet as well as 2 or 3 of my own and
added them to the page where people could enjoy different bikes. After I finished my
website I made it public to obtain the link needed to see the page without the editor.
Evaluation
I Evaluated my work by looking at all the processes I went through leading up to the final
product and gave my opinion on what I did good and what could have been improved and
ways to improve it. I Then got a few classmates to give me feedback on my final product
