June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

4. Mind Map
• Strengths of using this method
To be able to come back to ideas in its simplest form this is most useful when using key words or terminology to
help develop any project your conducting
• Weaknesses of using this method
You have to make a detailed understanding of the ideas you create if this isn't done properly it can be hard to
refer back to information if there isn't any good valuable content.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
No I didn’t. I felt as if it was consuming too much time but if other people want to see the detailed aspect of my
work they could use and see it using the mind map.
6. Mood Board
• Strengths of using this method
Gives you inspirational ideas this Is an important part of production development because u can
use small pieces from other art pieces to create you own as a base line
• Weaknesses of using this method
As you progress the production without the mood board it doesn't have much value to come
back too for any inspiration.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
No I feel like it takes too much time and that you don’t use it often to have it as a good source of information.
8. Style Sheet
• Strengths of using this method
– I can refer to this page if I need the page for the production style .
• Weaknesses of using this met0hod
– After some usage it doesn't really have as much use.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• I like this method to a certain extent because after the first time of use it doesn't have as much value.
10. Layout Plan
• Strengths of using this method
I can use it as a guide to help myself finish the design also it’s a good way to show my intensions of the
product. because its visual and easily explainable
• Weaknesses of using this method
– You constantly have to check the design to get a understanding of the plan
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• Yes I liked this method, because it gives a good baseline but on the other hand it consumes to much time
leaving the actual production with less time
13. Brainstorm
• Strengths of using this method
Our group is able to develop ideas we produce and to add more ideas starting with the basics leading to a more
advance state of the production
• Weaknesses of using this method
To get good insight we would have to put in a lot of detail.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
No I didn’t like it because if you already have a set plan and its good to standard you only need to develop the
products as you continue to create it.
14. Informal Pitch
• Strengths of using this method
We are able to get good advice from someone who is experienced to help us in what we are lacking
• Weaknesses of using this method
It could mean you have to reset some of your plan to get a better results in the long term
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• Yes I did because without the experienced help we would have progressed in a particular aspect of the
radio advert such as, the music theme and getting a bit of support with the radio speeches.
16. Formal Pitch
• Strengths of using this method
We get a small bit of inspiration to do different advergame’s and to do different styles of games
And we also get some experience trying to create characters
• Weaknesses of using this method
if your inexperienced with creative software's it can be hard to understand and catch up with the instructions
and methods of the game.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• Yes because we were able to get the experience to create our final piece
17. Initial Reaction
This is my first attempt of drawing from scratch using
photo shop. I am impressed by how it came out by
the look of it I wasn’t trying to draw my self I was
inspired by 21 savage wearing Supreme.
I like this because I was able to use the software
photo shop to experiment with minor details of
using different colors complexions to create a
detailed art piece.
The color scheme of the clothing was purposefully
meant to be simplistic just as the actual supreme
logo. I went with all sorts of tones for this portrait
because I felt as if the skin tone for example will have
more depth and realism if I went the extra mile
which went well.
18. Initial Reaction
• Strengths of using this method
I think my character turned out to be something different than I anticipated in the first place but detailed
and it helped by the fact I was able to get some experience creating something and using different
computing software's to create portfolios animation etc..
• Weaknesses of using this method
• Getting the use of photo shop was a little bit hard to do because it wasn’t something I used before, the
weakness of not knowing how to use photo shope meant that my initial plan and production wasn’t to the
best of quality and I could have been improved more earlier in the development period
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• Yes because I could actually get to know the software, photo shop I was going to use later in the
production and other projects in the feature.
20. Sketches
• Strengths of using this method
I created my sketches on paper then imported them on to the computer this mas a good advantage because it
meant that I could have a more detailed in depth character design to follow then create on computer where its
harder to get tools to do specific things
• Weaknesses of using this method
It feel irrelevant but it helps in the long run
• Did you like using this method? Why?
Yes I did because it helped create a guide line to what and how we were going to create the character using the
blocked paper and comparing to the computer in detail.
21. Formal Proposal
• Strengths of using this method
I could refer to the information if I needed some insight on what the result could lead to opinions on
people who watch the advert
• Weaknesses of using this method
It not relevant to the produces or the people who are going to spectate the advert
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• No I didn’t because I felt as if it would have any use to helping create my advert or Advergame
