Production Reflection

Process - LocationsThe first thing I did was open up Photoshop, setting
the width on 4.23cm and 2.82 cm length. Then
putting it on 72 resolution and putting it on a
transparent background. I first thing I did was select
the color that I was going to have and using my
pencil tool on a larger size. I clicked a light green
and covered the whole page with it. Then using a
new layer I drew the water fountain which I placed
in the center of the page. I then selected the blue
color and using the pencil tool drew it out. Opting
for a brighter blue just so that it looks like the
waves of the water. Also using a white color for the
shading of the water. I then used as darker green
drew out few buses and branches that would be
hanging from the tree using a dark green tool. I
then used the brown color which I selected and
drew the rocks that would be around the waterfall.
I then used the grey color and drew it around the
sections on where I needed the path and wall. I
then used a black color and drew lines and in
sections of where they would be so that it looks
like bricks. Then using the same color that I used
for the waterfall rocks. I drew the wooden plank on
top of the wall. Then using the orange and yellow
color drew the flames that is needed for the torch. I
then used a brown color as part of the wall. Then I
differentiated when doing the bushes, drawing the
outline first in black. Then changing from a bright
green to a dark green so that they all look different.
I then used the brown color for the wood and drew
the rest of in the in the available spaces. Then I had
to draw out the back wall doing the same thing of
drawing in the grey and then using a dark pencil to
do the bricks.
Process – LocationsThe next thing I did was open up a new file. 44.1
length centimeters, 6.99 height and a 72
resolution. I put the image on a transparent
background and opened it up. I then went back
to where I did the previous location and took a
screenshot of it. I then opened the image of the
screenshot and had it as my first image. I then
opened a new layer and removed the waterfall
that was seen in the first image. I then also
removed the building that was on the side of the
stone path, and drew out the rest of the path on
the left side so that it looked like the pathway
was continuing. I then screenshotted that image
and opened it up on new layer that was needed
on the file that I had the other screenshot. I then
put that image in the middle, next to the other
screenshot. The next thing I did was go back to
the other file that had no screenshots. I built the
finish sign using the drawing tool, drew out the
stairs and the black room that’s on the top of the
stairs. I then screenshotted that image and then
opened up that image on the file that has the
other two screenshots. Having it on a new layer, I
placed this image on the right hand side of the
image. That was my first location for my level
sorted. I then exported it as a PNG and placed it
in my documents.
Process - Characters
When it came to the characters that I had made on
Photoshop. Setting it on 4.23 centimeters width, 2.26
length and 72 resolution. The first character I did was
the creature that was chasing after me. I used the
pencil tool and picked the right colors that would be
needed to complete. I exported the image so that It
was a PNG. The next thing I drew out was the man,
looking at what I previously sketched out, drawing it
with a pencil and and then exporting image as a PNG.
I did the same thing with the girl, looking at the
sketch I did on pencil an using that to do the general
idea on Photoshop. I exported that image and then
made a start with the birds. I wanted the birds to be
different shades of colors so that they match the alien
feel that the world is trying to offer. I did the birds
with lighter shades so that they have different
shading to them. I put each different bird into
different layers. So that I would be able to move each
different bird when it came to animation. I then e
exported this image. The last thing I did was export
the image. For the PNG images that were in my
documents. I made a folder names characters and
moved the images into the folder so that they were
all together.
Process – Level titles
The first thing I did was open up a new file on
Photoshop, setting the width on 4.23
centimetres and the length 2.25 centimetres.
Setting the resolution on 78 and putting it on a
transparent background. Then I used the paint
bucket tool and covered the whole of image in a
black colour. Then using the pencil tool selected
the pink colour and drew out the letters that
were the letters. Then I drew out the torch that
was on the side of image using the eyedropper
tool to pick out the various colours that were
seen in the torch of the that was in the previous
map. Drawing out the red, orange, yellow and
the brown. I then exported the image as a PNG.
Then I did exactly the same with the with the
next images that were levels. Drawing in the
waterfall that was in the second level image and
then exporting it. Drawing out the image of the
tree and exporting that one as well. I put all
three PNG images into one folder. So I’d know
where to put them when I imported them into
Premiere Pro.
Process – Loading Sequence and title
card
• The first thing I did was open up Photoshop, setting the
width on 4.23cm and 2.82 cm length. Then putting it on 72
resolution and putting it on a transparent background.
Then using a new layer. I used the pencil tool and put it on
a 100 px by size and covered the whole screen black. Then
using a different layer I sued the white color in the pencil
tool and drew out the word loading. In the next layer I just
drew circular dot and then duplicated that layer. Putting the
ones that I had duplicated in a straight row. Then I selected
my window and timeline underneath so that I could
animate into a video. Hiding each dot so it looked like each
one was appearing after each other, I then exported then
video and put it into my documents.
• The next thing I did was do my title card. So the first thing I
did was open up Photoshop, setting the width on 4.23cm
and 2.82 cm length. Then putting it on 72 resolution and
putting it on a transparent background. I used a new layer,
set the pencil tool on 100px, and used the black color to
cover the whole page. Then I used a purple color and drew
out the first word. Then using a new layer I drew around
the letter with a pink color. I did the same color scheme
choices with the word ‘runway’ and ‘man’ as well. Then I
exported the image as a quick PNG image, putting it into
my documents.
Process - Animation
The first thing I did was go on window which was
on the top and click on it so that the tick shows
up. The tab appeared at the bottom and I had my
first frame for my timeline. I set each tab that was
in my timeline to 0.2 seconds. With each frame
that was in my timeline, I hid several layers that
weren't meant to be in the shot of the game.
Because the characters are running, moved the
characters and the bird so that it looked like they
were moving in and out of the frames. I made up
to 72 frames of images of the characters moving
to the other side of the map. When it came to the
explosion of of the creature. I drew out the image
of the explosion had it one layer. Then in the next
frame, duplicated that layer, hid the previous one
and then enlarged so that it looks like the image
is getting larger. I did this with each frame,
duplicating them and then enlarging them so it
looks like the image keeps getting larger. The last
thing I did was export the animation of this game.
Process – Music and soundThe next part of my process was open adobe
premiere pro. I then imported the clips that I
had made. The first clip that I imported was the
music that I included. This music was made on
Beepbox. Playing various notes that worked as I
wanted a fast. I made up three different songs
for the three different levels. I then exported the
three different songs that I made. Putting them
on loop for three times so that they were long
enough for the level. If they were too long then
I’d just cut them in the editing process. I then
imported the other clips that were the
animation videos that I had exported previously.
Lining up them up with the music that I had
already created. Then moving onto the sound
effects that I made. I imported those clips into
my timeline and then put them into my editing
section in the correct areas of where they fit.
Then using I place the PNG image of the title
card at the beginning of the sequence and then
placed the loading sequence between each
level. Duplicating the png so that there was
three loading screens. I then exported the clip
into my documents and uploaded it onto
YouTube. I then embedded the clip from
YouTube onto my Blogger account.

06.) Production reflection

  • 2. Process - LocationsThe first thing I did was open up Photoshop, setting the width on 4.23cm and 2.82 cm length. Then putting it on 72 resolution and putting it on a transparent background. I first thing I did was select the color that I was going to have and using my pencil tool on a larger size. I clicked a light green and covered the whole page with it. Then using a new layer I drew the water fountain which I placed in the center of the page. I then selected the blue color and using the pencil tool drew it out. Opting for a brighter blue just so that it looks like the waves of the water. Also using a white color for the shading of the water. I then used as darker green drew out few buses and branches that would be hanging from the tree using a dark green tool. I then used the brown color which I selected and drew the rocks that would be around the waterfall. I then used the grey color and drew it around the sections on where I needed the path and wall. I then used a black color and drew lines and in sections of where they would be so that it looks like bricks. Then using the same color that I used for the waterfall rocks. I drew the wooden plank on top of the wall. Then using the orange and yellow color drew the flames that is needed for the torch. I then used a brown color as part of the wall. Then I differentiated when doing the bushes, drawing the outline first in black. Then changing from a bright green to a dark green so that they all look different. I then used the brown color for the wood and drew the rest of in the in the available spaces. Then I had to draw out the back wall doing the same thing of drawing in the grey and then using a dark pencil to do the bricks.
  • 3. Process – LocationsThe next thing I did was open up a new file. 44.1 length centimeters, 6.99 height and a 72 resolution. I put the image on a transparent background and opened it up. I then went back to where I did the previous location and took a screenshot of it. I then opened the image of the screenshot and had it as my first image. I then opened a new layer and removed the waterfall that was seen in the first image. I then also removed the building that was on the side of the stone path, and drew out the rest of the path on the left side so that it looked like the pathway was continuing. I then screenshotted that image and opened it up on new layer that was needed on the file that I had the other screenshot. I then put that image in the middle, next to the other screenshot. The next thing I did was go back to the other file that had no screenshots. I built the finish sign using the drawing tool, drew out the stairs and the black room that’s on the top of the stairs. I then screenshotted that image and then opened up that image on the file that has the other two screenshots. Having it on a new layer, I placed this image on the right hand side of the image. That was my first location for my level sorted. I then exported it as a PNG and placed it in my documents.
  • 4. Process - Characters When it came to the characters that I had made on Photoshop. Setting it on 4.23 centimeters width, 2.26 length and 72 resolution. The first character I did was the creature that was chasing after me. I used the pencil tool and picked the right colors that would be needed to complete. I exported the image so that It was a PNG. The next thing I drew out was the man, looking at what I previously sketched out, drawing it with a pencil and and then exporting image as a PNG. I did the same thing with the girl, looking at the sketch I did on pencil an using that to do the general idea on Photoshop. I exported that image and then made a start with the birds. I wanted the birds to be different shades of colors so that they match the alien feel that the world is trying to offer. I did the birds with lighter shades so that they have different shading to them. I put each different bird into different layers. So that I would be able to move each different bird when it came to animation. I then e exported this image. The last thing I did was export the image. For the PNG images that were in my documents. I made a folder names characters and moved the images into the folder so that they were all together.
  • 5. Process – Level titles The first thing I did was open up a new file on Photoshop, setting the width on 4.23 centimetres and the length 2.25 centimetres. Setting the resolution on 78 and putting it on a transparent background. Then I used the paint bucket tool and covered the whole of image in a black colour. Then using the pencil tool selected the pink colour and drew out the letters that were the letters. Then I drew out the torch that was on the side of image using the eyedropper tool to pick out the various colours that were seen in the torch of the that was in the previous map. Drawing out the red, orange, yellow and the brown. I then exported the image as a PNG. Then I did exactly the same with the with the next images that were levels. Drawing in the waterfall that was in the second level image and then exporting it. Drawing out the image of the tree and exporting that one as well. I put all three PNG images into one folder. So I’d know where to put them when I imported them into Premiere Pro.
  • 6. Process – Loading Sequence and title card • The first thing I did was open up Photoshop, setting the width on 4.23cm and 2.82 cm length. Then putting it on 72 resolution and putting it on a transparent background. Then using a new layer. I used the pencil tool and put it on a 100 px by size and covered the whole screen black. Then using a different layer I sued the white color in the pencil tool and drew out the word loading. In the next layer I just drew circular dot and then duplicated that layer. Putting the ones that I had duplicated in a straight row. Then I selected my window and timeline underneath so that I could animate into a video. Hiding each dot so it looked like each one was appearing after each other, I then exported then video and put it into my documents. • The next thing I did was do my title card. So the first thing I did was open up Photoshop, setting the width on 4.23cm and 2.82 cm length. Then putting it on 72 resolution and putting it on a transparent background. I used a new layer, set the pencil tool on 100px, and used the black color to cover the whole page. Then I used a purple color and drew out the first word. Then using a new layer I drew around the letter with a pink color. I did the same color scheme choices with the word ‘runway’ and ‘man’ as well. Then I exported the image as a quick PNG image, putting it into my documents.
  • 7. Process - Animation The first thing I did was go on window which was on the top and click on it so that the tick shows up. The tab appeared at the bottom and I had my first frame for my timeline. I set each tab that was in my timeline to 0.2 seconds. With each frame that was in my timeline, I hid several layers that weren't meant to be in the shot of the game. Because the characters are running, moved the characters and the bird so that it looked like they were moving in and out of the frames. I made up to 72 frames of images of the characters moving to the other side of the map. When it came to the explosion of of the creature. I drew out the image of the explosion had it one layer. Then in the next frame, duplicated that layer, hid the previous one and then enlarged so that it looks like the image is getting larger. I did this with each frame, duplicating them and then enlarging them so it looks like the image keeps getting larger. The last thing I did was export the animation of this game.
  • 8. Process – Music and soundThe next part of my process was open adobe premiere pro. I then imported the clips that I had made. The first clip that I imported was the music that I included. This music was made on Beepbox. Playing various notes that worked as I wanted a fast. I made up three different songs for the three different levels. I then exported the three different songs that I made. Putting them on loop for three times so that they were long enough for the level. If they were too long then I’d just cut them in the editing process. I then imported the other clips that were the animation videos that I had exported previously. Lining up them up with the music that I had already created. Then moving onto the sound effects that I made. I imported those clips into my timeline and then put them into my editing section in the correct areas of where they fit. Then using I place the PNG image of the title card at the beginning of the sequence and then placed the loading sequence between each level. Duplicating the png so that there was three loading screens. I then exported the clip into my documents and uploaded it onto YouTube. I then embedded the clip from YouTube onto my Blogger account.
