2. Process
To begin with I first sized up
Photoshop document to 720x 80
pixels and I then used the paint
bucket tool and chose the colour
brown to set as the background
colour. I then added text and went
to blending opticians and added a
outside stroke so that it stands
out to the audience more easily.
3. Process
I then used the pencil tool and drew a
box with a question mark in to
represent a mystery box that are in the
game and it also shows the game is a
mystery and you don’t know what's
going to happen . I then used the
rectangular marquee tool to draw a
rectangle and I then coloured this in
grey with a black border. I then drew
“Loading” and placed this in the loading
bar. I then used the pencil tool and drew
the loading bar status in green to show
to the consumer that its loading. I then
kept doing this and adding to it on every
frame whilst using frame animation so
that it gives it the effect of the game
loading.
4. Process
To begin with making the background I
first used the pencil tool to cut of the
background on where it would be
different shades of blue. I did this to
make it look visually appealing to the
audience and so it doesn't’t look boring.
After I then drew the grass and used
different shades again just to make it look
visually appealing to the consumer. I then
added clouds which I did this using the
pencil tool. I enjoyed making the
background for the game because I had
many different ideas what to do and it
allowed me to be very creative. After the
background was set up I added drew
score as this will be in the top corner and
count how many coins have been
collected. I also added a stroke on this to
help it stand out to the consumer. Then
finally I drew hearts with a black stroke
which will show the consumer how much
health they have .
5. Process
Once I completed the first background to make the
others it was much easier because I had the concept of it
done. With this background I flipped the bottom part of
the grass so the game carried on and then chose the
background different shades of blue to show the
consumer its getting darker and it relates to mystery.
Then after I used a dark grey background with a light
grey floor with the moon in the top left corner. There is
also a laser gun in black and yellow and I chose these
colours to show it’s a hazard and it’s dangerous. This
level is very simple as there isn’t much to it however it’s
hard because you have to try and get past it without
getting beaten by the laser. And finally I I chose a black
background and orange lava at the bottom and the
consumer has to use the obstacles here without getting
in the lava. This is one of my favourite levels because it
was very fun to design and is very creative
6. Process
Then to design my character I used the pencil tool. I
wasn’t too sure on how I wanted my character to look so
however I wanted to my character to look simple. I chose
to have him wearing red because it’s a bright color and
stands out. I chose to have him wearing black and gray as
well because I think this works well with the red. If I had
more time I would have experimented with different
colors and different designed to see which I prefer more. I
then designed a coin and chose yellow a darker shade of
yellow and white for the colors of the coin. The coin will
be used for the character to go around and collect and
the more coins they get the more points they have.
7. Process
I then had to add frame animation to
my game. I had my animation set to 0
second delay however I felt as the
game went on it was too fast because
when you get too more complex levels
its hard to catch up on what's
happening and hard to understand
everything. I also had to hide layers
and everything to give off the effect I
wanted such as when my character my
character to jump on this box I had to
hide the layers and then make them
appear when he jumped and in every
frame I had to move the coin slightly.
After watching this back I thought it
was still too fast so I went back and
changed all the frames to 0.2 seconds
8. Process
I made some sound effects for my
game using beepbox. I had this effect
starting of low and the frequency of it
getting higher so when the character
collects the coin it gives it a positive
sound effect. And then I would do the
same however have the sound start of
high and getting lower to give the
effect of the character dying. After I did
this for the sound effects I wanted I
then resized my Photoshop document
to1080 pixals and exported it as a
video.
9. Process
I then imported my video that I exported
from photoshop and I also imported the
sound effects that I have made and want to
use. I then dragged the video clips onto the
timeline and then I went through the clips
and imported the sound effects to where I
wanted them to match up with the video. I
used the Razor tool to cut the audio clips as
well to how I wanted them and the select
tool to place the audio where I wanted it to
go. I then used the audio clip mixer so that I
could adjust the volume in certain effects so
that you could hear other effects better . I
then exported my video a H.264 YouTube
720p HD as this was a suitable setting for
me to export my game as.
