The 1975 is a British indie rock band formed in 2002 in Cheshire, UK. Led by singer Matty Healy, the band gained popularity after releasing their first EP in 2012 and being named NME's Album of the Year in 2016. Known for their minimalist album artwork and music videos shot in black and white, the band explores themes of relationships, sex, drugs, and the experiences of teenagers and young adults in their music and style.
