2. What Was King Henry s Decision To Separate From The...
England deciding to separate from the Catholic Church
The English Reformation was a series of events in 16th century England by which the Church of
England broke away from the authority of the Pope and the Roman Catholic Church . This decision
was taking by King Henry the VIII. This decision was primary related to his personal want to have a
male heir to continue the Tudor dynasty in the region. This decision was supported by the people of
England with their dissatisfaction of the Catholic Church. We analyzed the factors involved in his
decision and found couple bias such as short term emotions, confirmation bias and overconfidence
bias.

3. Hamamelis Virginiana
The charming Hamamelis virginiana is a common understory shrub of North America s eastern
deciduous forest, and normally dwells where the forest is mature and undisturbed. Its typical woody
companions include pines, oaks, hickories, maples, and blueberries. It grows natively throughout
northeast and southeast North America, from Nova Scotia to Florida to eastern Texas.
American Witch hazel can be identified by its full, rounded crown, smooth grey bark, arching
branches, and unique flowering pattern. Slow growing and multi stemmed, witch hazel typically
reaches heights of 15 to 20 feet, but has been documented as tall as 30 feet in the southern
Appalachians. Its decorative leaves are a dark emerald green during the spring and summer, and ...

It is an excellent addition to the winter garden. Most prefer USDA Hardiness Zones 5 to 8 and prefer
well drained, loamy, slightly acidic soil and part sun to light shade. They do not flourish in heavy, wet,
and compacted soils and are subject to drought stress. Flowering is most profuse when the trees are
grown in full sun, but planting witch hazel out in the open will subject it to scorching and burning. It
should be mulched to keep the roots cool. Deer will eat witch hazels, and some may be susceptible to
leaf blights and mildew. Flower size and the duration of bloom are likely to be reduced during years
with hot, dry springs, or warm winters. It is recommended that you purchase your plants, since witch
hazels are difficult to propagate from cuttings and seed. Balled and burlapped or container grown
specimens can be transplanted in spring or fall. Once established, American witch hazel requires
minimal care. A heavy pruning once every ten years is adequate to maintain the shrub s attractive vase
shaped habit. All pruning should be done in early spring

4. Currenlty In Colombia
The nation of Colombia is just beginning to wrap up a civil war between the government and the
Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC), a guerilla revolutionary movement in the
country. Its internal legitimacy has been compromised for years, but the nation has still managed to
survive.
A state s sources of legitimacy are both internal and external. Internal legitimacy comes from within
the country, the willingness of the people to accept the government as legitimate. Currenlty in
Colombia, the internal legitimacy is on the rise, as the FARC (who for years has been attempting to
undermine the legitimacy of the government) has agreed to make peace deals with the government (1).

In fact, there is just one major guerilla group, the National Liberation Army or ELN, that the
government is still having peace talks with (2). Even though these processes take time, they are a
positive factor that encourages
the internal legitimacy of the leadership in Colombia. However, along with this strength comes the
weakness of widespread internal corruption in the government. This is another area that is slowly
climbing toward improvement, but is far from perfect. There are many sources of corruption in
Colombia, including (but not limited to): bureaucratic corruption, political corruption, electoral fraud,
nepotism and cronyism, organized crime, and money laundering (3). The most concerning and
damaging to the internal legitimacy of the nation of these sources is electoral fraud. No matter how
powerful or accomplished a leader is, they are immediately deemed illegitimate if they were not
elected by the state s proper system. This has extended from mayoral candidates failing to submit
information about the financing of their campaigns to legislators using intimidation to encourage large

Chavez decided to nationalize Cargill due to not producing a cheaper rice that is included in price

alternative could have been to impose a hefty fine, similar when companies break laws in the United
States. Cargill is a US company and this might be an attempt to not allow profits to be brought back to
the US and remain in Venezuela. Cargill said it has complied with all laws and regulations and the
plant was manufacturing Parboiled rice at this site for the last 7 years (Fox News, 2009). Chavez is

6. Essay on A Case for Cloning
One reason people protest the idea of cloning is because may are mystified as to how it could be used
and what its purposes can be. I know that if it were your child, you would use every possible measure
to keep them alive. The fact that we, as humans, might be able to figure out how to clone so that lives
could be saved is extremely exciting and inspiring. On the other hand, there is a time and a place for
everything, including research. While cloning is justifiable in certain circumstances, I would want to
make sure other healthcare issues were taken care before donating money to research for cloning.

difference, however, is that the children would be identical.
While Stella s and Mia s DNA and physical appearance would be exactly the same, there has been too
much research done to show that identical twins may have many things in common and, yet, still have

of cloning see it as...just another way of providing a couple with a biological child they might
otherwise be unable to have. Since this goal and these other technologies are acceptable, cloning
should be acceptable (574).This statement is attempting to, in a sense, normalize the cloning process.
The author is attempting to make a connection between cloning and other reproductive technologies
that are accepted in society. The argument that cloning simply allows couples to have children that

others see as their strengths. An organization weakness looks at anything that distracts them from

9. A Brief Note On The Problem Of Illegal Immigration
Corey Lambeth
Mrs. Gallos
English III
What are solutions to Illegal Immigration in the United States?
In this report I will be stating some solutions about illegal immigration. The problem about illegal
immigration is millions of illegal aliens cross our border and get in this country successfully. When
they get in the country they steal our jobs and pay not taxes as they live in this country. But the
president promises to us that they are improving the security of the border and no illegal aliens are
getting in this country unless they get legalized. But in this report I will state that our border is
ineffective and our population of 11 million immigrants is growing and not slowing down.
Regrettably, the government has consistently failed at this, leading to today s untenable situation with
over 11 million individuals unlawfully present in the U.S.. (Solutions 2014)
Problems about Illegal Immigration
The problems with illegal immigration are very serious. Millions of immigrants come to the United
States for job opportunities, which is perfectly fine if you get legalized but that s the problem. Over 11
million immigrants do not get legalized. If you were to deport the 30 million undocumented
immigrants in the United States that s going to cost you about 130 billion dollars. ( A Third Way on
Immigration). Which means they are not actual citizens and they get away with the things that every
American has to do.Illegal immigrants don t have to pay taxes because they

On September 24th 2014, the Centres for Disease Control released a report stating the United States of
America has one of the highest infant mortality rates in the developed world, with a rate of 6.1 infant
deaths per 1000 live births.
Sarah C P Williams from the John Hopkins University in the United States, published a report for the
Stanford University School of Medicine identifying that that poor infant survival rates in the United
States are intrinsically linked to high rates of preterm births those that occur when a woman is
between 22 and 37 weeks pregnant, rather than the full term of 37 41 weeks.
When a fetus has experienced a gestation period of 37 weeks, it s organ systems are defined mature

When a fetus experiences a shortened period of gestation, their organ systems are underdeveloped.
They do not have fully formed lungs, their nervous system and brain connection are not established
and their senses are still in the process of maturing. By all accounts, the fetus is fragile and is
unprepared to support and sustain life in the extra uterine environment.

15. Gender Aspects Of Gender
The way people look at gender has been changing over the past few years. Gender has always been a
social topic on what boys should do and what girls should do. Although, with the new generation, I
have seen people break the mold of gender stereotypes. Over the years, I have seen many classmates
and schools changing the status quo of gender. My generation has a different opinion on gender
stereotypes than my grandparents and even my parents. Gender stereotypes are changing with each
generation, whether it be through sports or the occupations people have.
My Grandparents went to high school in the mid 1950 s and women were not allowed to play many
sports back then. My Grandma told me that they thought the girls would get hurt. My grandmother
played basketball and they didn t let the girls cross the half court line. They had three girls on each
side so that they did not over exert themselves. Nowadays, girls can play almost any sport they want.
Hockey is a good example of how girls can play manlier sports. When people think of hockey, they
think of it more as a manlier sport, like football. There are so many girls that play hockey with the
same intensity as when men play. A good friend of mine, who went to the same middle school as me,
played on a travel hockey team. If you saw her, you would never expect her to play hockey. She
always wore dresses and has her hair done. She is not your typical hockey playing girl. After seeing
her play in a game, my impression of her changed. She was very physical when going after other
players with the puck. She would hit other players into the glass now and then. She could handle other
players hitting her pretty hard as well. She got rocked by one player and just got back up on her skates
and went back into the fray. Now, I believe she is the toughest girl I know. She completely breaks the
mold of the small, frail, girl stereotype.
Another example of girls playing a manlier sport would be football. I went to an all boys catholic high
school, and right next door to us was our sister school. Every year, the seniors and juniors would be
allowed to compete in powder puff football. They would practice all summer and after school in
September for a month. Some of the guys from our

Are video games linked to acts of crime and violence? Video games software and hardware are among
one of the most used consumed electronic devices. My father would tell me how he and his friends
used to play arcade games such as Pac Man, Space Invaders, and Galaxian in his hometown in
Guatemala. I remember I would watch him playing Super Mario 64 on our Nintendo 64 when I was a
toddler. Several of my peers grew up playing video games on Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft consoles.
Millions of consoles have been sold and millions of people have played at least of video game. It has

However, video games have never had complete approval from every person is society. There are

some people who have used video games as a scapegoat in the aftermath of violent and tragic events.
Video games with mature themes (such as violence, blood, gore, drugs, innuendo, etc.) have been
blamed for making the perpetrators of crimes commit acts of violence. While I can see how video
games can viewed as influencing violence at first sight, my issue with blaming video games is the lack

Free Imaginations
There are many themes evident in both Stephen Crane s The Blue Hotel and Bret Harte s Tennessee s
Partner; some of these themes are easily recognizable while recognition of the others depends on the
perception of the reader. The two stories, share the theme of personal integrity and that all actions
have consequences; however, there are several themes that are unique to each story that the reader can
latch on to. The plot and storyline of Tennessee s Partner are straightforward, but after reading Crane s
The Blue Hotel, one can imagine many different plots that could have taken place throughout the
story. Through imagery, the reader can take what each author presents and let his or her imagination
run wild; there is not a set feeling or reaction that either author intends for the reader to have after
reading. Personal integrity can be seen in both stories between the characters Tennessee s Partner and
The Easterner. Tennessee s partner is integrid because he never left his friend behind, even after he
had done him wrong. He was always there for Tennessee and never betrayed him. The Easterner
shows his integrity when he tells the truth about Johnnie and feel guilty about the situation with the
Swede; most people would have shrugged it off so that they did not have to deal with it but he chose
to speak up. Both of these forms of integrity show the true moral values of each character, each

sex offenders after release, community notification laws in place, and public access to the registry
(Burchfield and Mingus, 2012; Lees and Tewksbury, 2006; Petrunik, Murphy, and Fedoroff, 2008;
Scholle, 2000; Tewksbury and Lees, 2006; Wagner, 2011).
Sex offender registry laws were intended to increase public safety and to reduce the reoffending rates
of sexual offenders. However, this paper will argue that registration has no effect on recidivism rates
and that the law actually negatively impacts rehabilitative goals because of the unforeseen issues
stemming from registration. An analysis of the existing body of literature concerning registration from
the United States will address the

SWOT analysis is a sort of investigation that is often organized by business individuals to measure
their business working growth. It is a substantial analysis that processes four features which touches

additional two are outside features and can merely be documented so that business persons can deal

renowned as a long term process where the connotation becomes progressively more depressed,

it gets inferior. The downsizing overtone loses its expectant push and zeal . (Baumol, W. J., Blinder, A.

24. Stereotypes In I Want To Be Miss America
Both of these excerpts come from a new title called representation, and this is accurately shown in
both excerpts. It fits into this category, because it shows how Americans think of beauty as a
representation to your mentality . We see in I Want to be Miss America that Americans have a
predicament in the way we see women in terms of beauty and capability . The author of this excerpt
describes the ambition of young a girl , which is adjusting to an American lifestyle , to be Miss
America . The Immigrants now understand that fitting in is an important part of the American lifestyle
, and affects our daily lives . As American we often perceive beauty , clothing style , and appearance

people feel that way today . I feel that if we didn t judge people based on beauty , and do judge them
on heart then the world would operate more smoothly . Everyone desires to fit in , because if you don t
you will not have any friends . The fifty ladies are not just judged on beauty . They are compared on
beauty , talent , and intellect . The whole world should see things this way , because it doesn t exclude

about how most of the girls on the stage would mostly likely become a house mom , and that they will

25. The Non Citizen Asian Population Of Uganda
Imagine being given only 90 days to pick up your life and leave a place you call home. The Non
Citizen Asian population of Uganda was given only three months, ninety days to be precise, to leave
the country. Later Asians who were Ugandan citizens were also expelled. Idi Amin s reasoning for
expelling 60,000 Asians from Uganda is still unclear. There are many theories put forth, but they
remain mere speculation. As a result of Idi Amin s erratic behavior, jingoism, and ruthlessness,
Uganda s economic ultimately suffered to this day from this act. In 1971, President Idi Amin
demanded a review of Uganda s Asian community citizenship. In August of 1972, he decreed that all
Punjab Asians residing in Uganda must leave. The deadline to leave ... Show more content on

Eventually, this resulted in the Asians dominating the entire economy in post colonial Uganda;
ultimately creating tensions with the Africans. They had always been the target of resentment in
Uganda; once Amin came into power, he acted upon this tension. Many erratic announcements in the
span of a few days targeted various groups. The first proclaimed, All Asians holding Indian, Pakistan,
and Bangladesh passports must leave. Few took this announcement seriously until Amin signed the
decreed. Many were astonished by this and did not want to believe it. This is because when Amin
came to power, he made the working conditions better and many of the Asians who were in the
business industry. Another announcement followed, adding, All non citizen Asians, even those holding
Kenyan, and Tanzanian passports must leave. Again, many could not believe what was occurring.
These announcements were life shattering, especially when it was apparent to both the Africans and
Asian that Amin was serious. Next, came an announcement exempting professional Asians from
explosion, this was received with trepidation. This last announcement drove a wedge between the
Professional and non professional Asian communities. The professionals opted to leave voluntarily.
Yet another announcement proclaimed that no matter Asian persuasion one claimed, he or she had to
leave. All the back and forth announcements added to the

26. What Is Apathy And Empathy
Sympathy vs. Empathy Empathy is a Key word in person centered counseling. However, many
people, even very experienced mental health professionals can t explain the difference between the
two. They believe they are being empathetic, when in reality, they are being sympathetic. So, what is
the difference? Let s review all four possible feelings Apathy total lack of caring. Sort of like when an
ant is crawling toward your lunch plate and you smash it dead. This is apathy. You had no regard for
the life of the ant. Pity to feel sorry for someone without being inclined to help in any way. Like when

Justin Levitev from Loyola University in New Orleans, was teaching counseling techniques. So, as is
typical of such a class, we students were role playing counseling sessions. Whenever the counselor
asked the client a why question, as well as other mistakes, Dr. Justin would ring a bell. I quickly
learned not to ask why questions. At that point, I also learned to not to ask why questions in my day to
day life. Whenever I hear someone asking a why question, it is like someone racking their finger nails
down a blackboard (you know those old things teachers wrote on with dusty chalk until the late 1980

28. Rhetorical Analysis Of President John F. Kennedy s Crisis
A leader should be able to diagnose problems in his country and effectively navigate his people safely
through that trouble spot. President John F . Kennedy was a great leader, who was able to lead the
United States through several crises. One prime example of his navigational skills through such
hardships is in his dealings with the rise in steel prices in 1962. In his news conference, on the issue of
steel price, President Kennedy uses parallelism and juxtaposition to create the idea that the increase in
price from the steel companies is detrimental to the United States economy.
The first device that President John F. Kennedy uses to combat the issue of raising steel prices is
parallelism. In the second paragraph of his speech, he begins listing outcomes of the dramatic increase
in steel prices by saying, ...when we are confronted with grave crises in Berlin and Southeast Asia,
when we are devoting out energies to economic recovery and stability, when we are asking Reservists
to leave their homes and families for months on end, and servicemen to risk their lives... (lines 6 12)
This is an effective use of parallelism because he builds on the previous statement by starting out the
one that follows with the same introduction: ...when we are... He is trying to prove that America is in a
crisis situation and the steel companies increasing their prices is only going to make the situation even
worse. He is showing all of the sacrifices that people are making and proving to the steel companies
that their high wages are going to have a very negative effect on a people who are sacrificing more
than anyone would have ever expected for their country. The second example of parallelism is in the
third paragraph of his speech, when he begins by saying, ...it would increase the cost of homes, autos,
and appliances, and most other items for every American family. It would increase the cost of
machinery and tools to every American businessman and farmer. It would seriously handicap out
efforts to prevent an inflationary spiral from eating up the pensions of out older citizens, and our new
gains in purchasing power. (lines 23 31) He is pleading to the steel companies to lower their prices
through showing them examples

29. Homelessness Problem
Homelessness has seen an increase in Portland even with the 10 year plan to end chronic
homelessness being enacted, falling behind the country as a whole in the quest to get the poor and
vulnerable indoors. Currently, the nation is nearing its ten year plan to end chronic homelessness,
which has resulted in little to no progress. This is quite concerning because a homeless person on the
street will cost the city more per year than if the city invested more in guiding the homeless into stable
housing. Experts say the main way to end homelessness in Portland is to create much more affordable
housing, help train the homeless to be self sufficient, and creating a social safety net to prevent people
from falling into homelessness in the first place. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The amount of people who live on the streets disabled, vulnerable, or inexperienced has been steadily
rising in Portland. Along with the fact that there is little affordable housing for those who do manage
to find a job, it is nearly impossible for someone to find their way back into a stable life. While there
are many problems with homelessness, there are solutions to not only get the homeless out of the
streets and into housing, but to also help the homeless acquire career related skills, and prevent people
from falling into homelessness in the first place. Until we have permanent solutions to homelessness
places like CIty Team Ministries will alleviate the issues that the homeless face everyday, but even the
combined efforts of all shelters is not enough to stop homelessness. In the country s present state,
almost anyone can go from living comfortably, to sleeping on the streets very quickly. Solving
homelessness won t just help those who need it now, but it will also holp those who may need it in the
future. So next time you see a homeless person on the streets, just imagine that it could happen not
only to you, but to your friends and family as

30. Devolution In The UK
Devolution allocates central powers and levels of governance within a state to share decision making.
In the United Kingdom changes in the government structure had an impact in planning policy and
their function; from the devolving creation of the Welsh Assembly and Scottish parliament due to the
unification of England, Wales, and Scotland. The election of New Labour in 1997 facilitated
devolution and it created a pressure to establish distinctive and more culturally aligned policies.
Economic globalization and the growing wish to increase economical competition have driven regions
and urban areas to improve their status, requiring the planning system to reorientate their role, calling
the national power into question.

However, all of them have taken spatial planning out of the hands of the national government into a
local and regional level; with many of their priorities being similar, like education and health.
However, we can see the differences in the policy styles and the way public services are managed and
delivered. Devolution creates benefits and disadvantages in spatial planning. Local and regional
authorities are aware of the needs of each of their own regions, able to create better solutions. The
Scottish parliament let to an improvement in spatial planning policy and practice, providing a more
strategic approach (Allmendinger, 2002). Devolution in Scotland improved performance in the
economy and the public services. Scotland policy making is more consensual; there is the need of
consultation and negotiation with groups and networks. The Scottish Parliament has been focusing in
improving public involvement, focusing on all levels of planning. Scotland has been experiencing a
decline in sovereignty and autonomy due to economic and social policies. Polls over the years have
shown that, while few voters think that devolution has done any harm, most feel that it has made little
difference (Allmendinger, 2002); meaning that the support of devolution remains high. However, is
difficult to judge the effect of devolution on public policies. Scottish planning prioritizes sustainable
development supporting

31. Analysis Of The Idea Of Michael Jackson s Dick By Almond
Michael Jackson had been succumbed to a really bad childhood. A childhood, in which a child plays
around, enjoys and cherishes his time being loved by his parents and learning from them, he was made
to sing with his brothers and was often mistreated by his father. It is said that family is where the life
begins and love never ends but for Michael Jackson it was the opposite. In The Idea of Michael
Jackson s Dick, by Almond, one of the fictitious characters exclaims: His dad beat him...His brothers
despised him. His mother was in denial. No one ever made him feel loved as a child. He was just this
little performing monkey. It was a kind of slavery (Almond, 3). This explains that however he brought

Which turned him into a kid who didn t aspire to become like his father. This lead to running away
from everything that made him remember of his father, even his skin color. As said he was considered
nothing more than a performing monkey to his family. These occurrences in his life changed him to
the person he was before he passed away. What he went through psychologically made him execrate
himself. It changed his actions and art in a subtle way. The only reason he was chasing the feeling of
being loved was because he had never been loved in the past. He liked being childlike as he could
reach his target audience. People used to love him as a child and being childlike was what they wanted
which caused Jackson to act childlike throughout his entire life. Sullivan mentions that, His art will
later depend on his ability to stay in touch with that childlike inner instrument (Sullivan, 3). He used
to act childish just to preserve the childlike voice he had. We can also infer as that he could only do
well when he was under pressure or maybe he wanted to stay as a child because people wanted him to.

Why do you think choices important? Do you even think choices are important? Because I think
choices are important. Just stop and think, dont you wonder what it would be like without being able
to make your own choices for yourselves. You would be miserable right? You would never be happy

rules for him like one of them was he couldnt tell his parents anything he had to tell them lies, another
