Junk Food In Schools (A Serious Epidemic)
Junk Food In Schools ( A Serious Epidemic) Junk food according to Merriam Webster s dictionary is
food that is high in calories but low in nutritional content (Merriam s Webster Dictionary). It is a very
unhealthy group of foods that Americans eat and is part of the lifestyle of the average american. Junk
Food is very common in American schools, and Scholars and Scientists alike have attributed this to
the extreme rise of obesity in the United States. Junk foods should be prohibited in schools because,
they lead to obesity, they worsen the medical expenses of the US economy and its citizens, and they
sabotage the human health with long term consequences.;

The amount of money used to treat patients with health related reasons stemming from consumption
of junk food is extreme and hurts the economy and its GDP (Gross Domestic Product). Renowned
authors Deborah Lee and Nancy Sprague testify that Economically, US health care spending on
chronic illness as a percent of gross domestic product is substantial (Point: Public Schools 5). This
quote on its own should be able to raise awareness in the fight against junk food in schools and it
needs to be heard. Absolute amounts of how much the government spends on these health related
illnesses have not been calculated but the numbers are expected to be at very high amounts. Speaking
of economic health costs, another way junk food negatively impacts the economy is through the way
they affect the revenue of companies that provide healthy food. It is of utmost importance that people
know that Financial challenges find families purchasing cost effective foods which tend not to be the
healthiest products the local supermarket stock. (Point: Public Schools 9) according to authors Lee and
Sprague . One way people will be able to avoid buying junk food is if companies that provide healthy
dieting reduce the prices of their goods so that financially challenged families will not have to resort to
cheap junk food to be able to live. With this method, they will be able to afford healthy food to feed
themselves and others. Another major problem is that the

Biography on Tupac Shakur Essay
Biography on Tupac Shakur In much the same fashion that Kurt Cobain defined the alternative rock
music scene, Tupac Shakur defined the hip hop scene as we know it today. What made Tupac (also
known as 2pac) so special was his enormous talent, his on screen friendly looks, and the sense that he
was real and talked the talk, while walking the walk. Since his death, there s been a deluge of
speculation on who and why, and even if, but unfortunately still no concrete answers exist for any of
these questions. Born June 16, 1971, Tupac Amaru Shakur, who was named after Tupac Amaru, the
Inca Indian that was sentenced to death by the Spaniards, was originally a newborn from Brooklyn,

the World and his last living album release came with All Eyez on Me in 1996. Shakur s post celebrity
run ins with the law were almost as frequent as when he was growing up. In 1992 he was arrested
when a stray bullet killed a 6 year old child during a scuffle between Shakur and two others, though
later charges against Shakur were dropped. In 1993 Tupac was arrested for allegedly shooting 2 off
duty Butts County Atlanta police officers who were harassing a black motorist, but the charges were
again dropped. Ironically, one of the Butts County officers was shot in the ass, and in 1998 Deputy
Scott Whitwell won a $210,000 lawsuit for the incident. Then, that same year, Tupac was accused of
sexual abuse against a 19 year old woman in a New York City luxury hotel. Shakur s legal troubles
continued in 1994 when he punched out Menace II Society codirector Allen Hughes and served a 15
day jail sentence for his actions. The sexual charge came to haunt Shakur in that 1994 as he was
convicted and sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison, and to add insult to injury, Shakur was shot 5 times
and robbed of his jewelry the same day, a mugging that Shakur later claimed came from the Notorious

Moscrop Hallway Assignment
I sat near the window as a pop of orange then a strand of yellow started to appear. They gradually
wove together in intricate patterns leaving a trail of light behind for the sun. The concoction of colours
slowly revealed the barren world filled with nothing but white snow, sprinkled on its landscape. The
sun followed pursuit of the blend of colours as it began its journey to the skies. Its rays penetrated
through the windows bringing warmth that seeps into me along with the cold, frigid air of the
Canadian winter. I would stay still to admire the view until the trance was broken by the familiar
pressure of the student s feet on my back.
A hallway is like the colours and the students are the sun. I am the path way that the students follow to
get to wherever they need to go, without me they would be lost. If you pass by the hallways of
Moscrop Secondary, you would notice the dull walls with paper flyers stuck to it and the grey and red
lockers permanently attached to it. You would look up and see an abundance of paintings of flags and
pictures exuding positive messages and you would think it was nice, just nice. Then you would
continue on your way not even noticing the floor you stand on that made it possible for you to view
the dull walls and the paintings on the ceiling, not even a glance. Well, that s alright, people tend to
over look me as just something to stand on but you don t see it the way I do. The way I view things, is
that I am the pillar that supports the walls

The Violence Of Black Men And Women
Yes all lives matter, however, a pattern of black men and women have been murdered by police
brutality; therefore, we need to concentrate on preserving Black at this moment. At this very moment,
in the United States, there have been destructive riots and peaceful protest from all races but mostly
African Americans because we continue to witness our black men and women die from police
brutality without justice being served. It is significant that whoever wins the presidential Election will
take steps in assuring that all people especially black people are protected by the police and not
murdered by them. It is important that this president take steps in assuring that the justice system will
began to be just in cases such as the Treyvon Martin, Eric Garner and Sarah Bland. It is important the
president ensures that officers are properly trained when it comes to dealing with those who are
unarmed for the simple fact that there are other methods to arresting a person that is unarmed without
killing them. It is prominent that the President search for other solutions that will decrease the amount
of police brutality that is inflicted on African Americans on a day to day basis. Because quite frankly,
we are disgusted and angry, and tired of seeing youth die for ridiculous reasons.
To begin with, there s the case of Treyvon Martin a seventeen year old high school student who
resided in Florida. In 2012, Martin was visiting his father s house while walking to his father s house,

Under Armour Competitive Forces
According to our text, there are 5 competitive forces that help shape strategy: competition from
existing players, supplier bargaining power, customer bargaining power, threat of new players, and
threat of substitutes. (Thompson, Peteraf, Gamble Strickland, 2017).
Competition
Under Armour faces competition from Nike, the Adidas Group, as well as any new players.
Nike and the Adidas Group are larger corporations and therefore have more resources to develop new
products.
Supplier bargaining power
Having an assortment of suppliers reduces bargaining power
Customer bargaining power
Under Armour have customers from large retail chains, which gives them name recognition. These
large retail chains have some level of bargaining power.

to 2,868,900 by 2015.
Nike has the highest competitive strength when compared to Under Armour and the Adidas Group.
The Adidas Group has the next highest competitive strength and Under Armour is up and coming. The
size of Nike and the Adidas Group is a competitive advantage over Under Armour. However, Under
Armour is definitely a competitor for Nike and the Adidas Group. Under Armour is getting more and
market share and name recognition.

E. B. White Identity
Thesis: As expressed by E. B. White s essay and my own juvenile ventures, childhood memories
influence one s understanding of identity because they can restore an appreciation for the simple
wonders of youth in an individual s older self, and demonstrate the characteristic developments one
undergoes on the path to adulthood.
A. The memoirs of one s childhood may remind an individual of their passed admiration for the
simple things, allowing an individual to reaffirm such a naïve fondness within adulthood.
i. In his work, E. B. White presents the following insight on how his younger self was a beneficial
influence for establishing his identity: This boy...had a good effect on me...he lived a life of

Summary Of The Chemistry Of Ferrioxalate
The goal of this experiment is to prepare a photosensitive solution and explore its properties. While
analyzing the solution, one will learn how to successfully handle these sensitive chemicals and then
establish its properties via spectrophotometry.
Introduction1
During this experiment, a ferrioxalate solution will be produced from a solution of ferric nitrate that is
reacted with oxalic acid. In order to become and oxalate ion, the oxalic acid can donate up to two
protons. Ferrioxalate, or tris(oxalate)ferrate(III), is the product of three oxalate ions on Fe(III), as seen
in the figure below2:
Ferrioxalate as an ion can undergo a photochemical reaction if it is exposed to light which results in
the rather unstable complex of diaquabis(oxalate)ferrate(II) ion. There is no visible change when the
reaction occurs since both the reactants and products are colourless. The second solution, potassium
ferricyanide, will be prepared and used to test the extent of the photochemical reaction by adding it to
the first solution, ferrioxalate. The ferrioxalate solution will be tested with different colours and
exposure times of light. We will also establish what colours of light it absorbs by using
spectrophotometry. When exposed to light the ferrioxalate solution will undergo a reaction and
produce diaquabis(oxalate)ferrate(II) ion. Adding the ferricyanide solution allows us to see the
changes that are occurring. The ferricyanide reacts with the Fe2+ of the photo reacted product,

Dual Process Theory Case Study
1.2. Dual Process Theory:
In this study, I mostly adopt the two systems theory from the work of Kahneman and Tversky (1972,
1973, 1974, 1979, 1982, 1983, 2011). Firstly, we will go through some previous notable dual process
theories. Then we shall discuss more in depth Kahneman s two systems theory.
1.2.1. Previous Theories:
William James set the foundations for dual process theory. He theorized that there were two different
types of thinking, empirical thought for complex things and associative one for comparison or
abstractions. These types of thinking were later developed into the two system theory.
Evans (1984) proposed dual process theory, suggesting two distinct thought processes: heuristic and
analytic. During heuristic processes, an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Handmaid s Tale Essay
Paula Hawkins, a well known British author, once said, I have lost control over everything, even the
places in my head. In Margaret Atwood s futuristic dystopia The Handmaid s Tale, a woman named
Offred feels she is losing control over everything in her life. Offred lives in the Republic of Gilead. A
group of fundamentalists create the Republic of Gilead after they murder the President of the United
States and members of Congress. The fundamentalists use the power to their advantage and restrict
women s freedom. As a result, each woman is assigned a specific duty to perform in society. Offred s
husband and child are taken away from her and she is now forced to live her life as a Handmaid.

her husband Luke and the way he made her feel. Offred spends most of her days wondering about her
husband Luke, and daughter. She wonders if her husband is dead, made it across the Canadian border,
or was captured. Although Offred never finds out Luke s life status, Serena Joy offers to tell Offred
some information regarding her daughter. Consequently, Offred must sleep with Nick and conceive a
child in spite of receiving the information. As long as the Commander believes he is the father of
Offred s child, no problems will arise. Offred s decision is unconventional and risky, both for herself
and Nick. If Nick and Offred are caught, they will be executed. However, her unorthodox decision
pays off. Serena Joy obtains a photograph of Offred s daughter and informs Offred that her daughter is
now around eight years old and has been adopted by a family loyal to the regime. Offred is informed
that her daughter is alive and in safe care. The new information provides Offred with a sense of relief.

However, given that perpetrators often continue to have a relationship with their children even if the
relationship with the parents ends, it s important to help ensure that the perpetrator is not a threat to
the children. This is especially true given that studies have found there is some overlap in the
occurrence between DV and child abuse. Not surprisingly, my interest in the law closely aligns with
my interest in DV. My research focus is restorative and rehabilitative justice alternatives to traditional
deterrent and punitive measures, especially for DV perpetrators I m interested in the laws and
procedures pertaining to DV, including protective orders, visitations for children, child custody
agreements, maintenance agreements, and so on. Although I will be a part of the CLS department, I
hope to continue to work closely with the PSB department and the law school, in order to continue
gain a more comprehensive understanding of the issues being studied. To fully understand the issue
surrounding DV, a working knowledge and familiarity with the laws, policy, and procedures
surrounding DV is extremely beneficial. Additionally, the psychological impact to those exposed to
DV should also be considered, which is why I hope to continue to work closely with the PSB
department. My ultimate goal is to continue to do interdisciplinary research into DV and its effects on
those touched by DV. Eventually taking the research on DV into the real world and helping to improve
policy, laws, and procedures surrounding the issue. Through law school I will gain the expertise of the
laws impacting those touched by DV helping in the understanding of their effects. Additionally, law
school will give me a better understanding of the judicial system which will be helpful to one day

Weimar Republic Failure
There are many historians that believe the Weimar Republic was doomed from the beginning of its
existence as a rump state of the once powerful German Empire. Other historians believe the republic is
not such a failure as it seems in textbooks and online articles. Both sides unanimously agree that the
Weimar Republic was a failed attempt at bringing democracy to a predominantly monarchical (and
tyrannical) Europe. The majority of historians that agree the ill fated Weimar Republic was a smudge
on Germany during the Interwar Period have a large amount of validities to support that claim.
However, these validities also apply to the latter (to a lesser extent) , with one major problem resolved
by the republic. One of the claims is that the Weimar Republic was simply too weak to establish itself
as a political power in Germany, being contested by left and right wing extremist groups. There were
often frequent rebellions in Germany, led by Communists and Marxists. The military at the time was
far too outnumbered to quell these rebellions in their own jurisdiction. Another major impediment was
the hyperinflation of the currency of that time, the German Mark. After the Great War, Germany was
in a state of utter devastation and rebellion. The Kaiser had just fled Germany, and she was now
without a leader, essentially cutting head off the snake. The military had also returned in a similar
shape. The German economy was in ruins. The Weimar Republic was still responsible for

Law Of Gratitude Essay
8. The Law of Gratitude: The Law of Gratitude plays out similar to the Law of Cause and Effect or the
natural principle of action and reaction. As we look at the law itself, when we express thankfulness to
the God Force for that which we have received (even though it is still in the unseen), it is an
expenditure of force, therefore our gratitude cannot fail to reach God, and when it does the reaction is
an instantaneous move toward you. Consider two properly aligned magnets. They are two forces
moving in opposite directions while moving toward one another. Gratitude draws you and the Creative
Force, God, directly toward each other. If our gratitude is strong enough and consistent then there will
always be a move of that which we are co creating toward us. When the God Force moves toward us it
brings all that it is. The Law of Gratitude also dictates that if our heart is not full of gratitude, then
something else will take its place. Physics teaches that nature will not tolerate a vacuum. That is to say
that if something is removed then something else must take its place. If our hearts are not filled with
gratitude, then our hearts will be filled with ungratefulness. An ungrateful heart will take you from
what you want as rapidly as a grateful heart will take you toward what you want. The Law of
Gratitude nourishes our faith, because as a grateful heart and mind continually expects good things,
expectation becomes faith. This faith then, becomes both the cornerstone and the capstone of what it is

The Issues Of Financial Demands And Permits
In reaching an agreement on the issues of financial demands and permits, our party thought that the
last issue in the agenda was the press release; however, the mayors asked for an annual fixed payment
of $250,000.00 per town from the corporation. While our party was not provided with an acceptable
range to which we may agree upon as precluded by the confidential instructions, we instead offered to
pay $200,000.00 as a low cost inducement instead, to which the mayors agreed upon. In an effort to
reach an agreement with the counterparts to a positive press release of the corporation and its project,
our party agreed to the payment in the spirit of the consensus decision rule because the need for the
positive press release outweighed the need to minimize costs. In addition, the mayors offered to
promote the project in the towns with the use of the $200,000.00 as a form of marketing expense,
which the corporation could then respectively decrease from the marketing budget.
In reaching an agreement on the issues of financial demands, permits, and fixed payments, each one of
the parties were able to agree upon a positive press release with much ease, with an agreement that the
mayors would take actions in order to prevent the potential blocking of the access to the site (see
Appendix B for the final contract).

Businesses are driven by market diversity. Such variety, allows businesses to adapt and make changes
in order to compete. Stakeholder can predict an increase in revenue due to the growing needs of a
diverse market. However, a business plan that warrants an organizational change which aims to
compete in the changing market demands can only be successful if and when it is executed with full
cooperation from the overall organization. Hence, resistance to change must be eradicate, if not
minimized. Realistically, change is constant but some changes are uncomfortable (Bridges, 2000). For
this reason some employees tend to resist change. According to (Haslam et al., 2004) majority of
business organizations performs poorly in executing large scale changes because of the resistance
within the organisation. In a study of 288 companies by Tim Creasy as cited in (Haslam et al., 2004)
found out that resistance to change in all levels of the organization is prevalent which is an indication
the resisting to change is a natural response. (Bridges Mitchell, 2000) point out that an organization
may take time to transition towards the desired continuous improvement due to resistance to change.
They have highlighted three reason why employees repel vicissitudes: 1. Saying Goodbye, 2. The
Neutral Zone, and 3. moving forward. Employees may struggle in saying goodbye to old

even the slaves of the Khasa. The Khasa is considered the people left behind during one of the many

These early settlers paved the way for the culture and way of life that still thrives in these mountains.
Being only able to appropriately live in the middle himalaya to the plateau range during prehistoric
migrations the Greater Himalayan region remained untouched. Mountaineering, alpinism, climbing all
mean the same. The purpose of enjoying climbing itself as a sport or recreation, distinct from merely
climbing while hunting or as a religious pilgrimage. This was not a thing until around the 1854 when a
man called Sir Alfred Wills climbed the Wetterhorn in the swiss alps came back to england and

Death Schone Magelone By Ludwig Tieck
Sind es Schumerzen, sind es Freuden ( are they sorrows or are they joys ) is a song from Brahms song
cycle Romanzen aus L. Tieck s Magelone, Op. 33 No. 3. As text for his song cycle, Brahms chose
excerpts from the novel Die schöne Magelone by Ludwig Tieck (1773 1853). The novel tells a love
story between Peter von Provence and Magelone, the king s daughter. In this particular song, Peter and
Magelone falls in love with each other. Though Brahms is most widely known as an instrumental
composer, more than half of his opus numbers are devoted to vocal works. In Brahms song cycles, he
avoided the traditional strophic forms. Instead, he chooses dramatic shifts in music material,
unpredictable harmonies, and sudden changes in tempo and rhythm.
The song starts with an unusually long piano introduction that lasted 8 measures, gives an idea of the
large scale of this song. The rolled chords (mm.1 8) and broken octaves underneath the beautiful
melody suggesting Peter s lute. The vocal line begins with the expressive melody identical to the
beginning of the piano introduction. It is characterized by embellishments on words sind (to be), busen

set to the same music as the first stanza, and Brahms even indicates this with a repeat sign rather than
notating the music twice. The harmony of the verse ends on a half cadence but the chords at the last
measure are not rolled, (mm.20)

Another reason to implement this strategy was to keep inventory at a minimalistic amount after the
current rollover and to capture the market through aggressive advertising. We as a firm believe that in
our first rollover we should concentrate on the attempt to spread awareness of our GYPSY MAX
company through high advertising and proper cash management to lay a solid platform for the future.
Operational Decisions As our strategy of high price low volume suggests, we wanted to sell our bikes
at a higher price than was recommended by the market. In the first rollover however, we decided to
increase the price of our bike from the recommended $550 to $579. We were being careful about the
chances that other firms would not increase their price of the bike as much as we would, and thus
capture more of the market by doing so. We felt that we needed to produce a bit more than the current
capacity suggested, from 20,000 to 22,000 bikes. The cost of goods sold would decrease if we
produced many bikes this rollover, so the decision to produce more bikes on average only for this
rollover was upheld.
Marketing Decisions The best possible way to sell our bikes at a higher price than normal was to
advertise a lot. All the firms began at the same place, and the only way to differentiate our bike from
our competitors is to raise our company name in the market and capture the

Charles Coughlin Father Hate Speech
Controversial Priest Charles Coughlin is known as the infamous priest that would speak his mind and
give his controversial speeches over the radio, mainly about the Americas economic crisis and the
government. Americans around the United States would tune in to Father Coughlin s weekly radio

government was doing to improve the nation s debt. How can it be that a priest of a small Michigan

Both the government and the private sector have been aware of the threat social engineering poses to
information security since the 1980s, but it has only gained public notoriety within the last decade.
Still, while today s corporations may be prepared for a raid by anonymous cyber terrorists striking
from overseas, they continue to turn a blind eye to the dangers of socially engineered attacks. Thanks
to a combination of corporate oversight and poor employee training, hackers with zero coding
knowledge are able to penetrate their secured buildings and wreak havoc. In order to combat this
vulnerability, the Department of Homeland Security should take an active role in the operational
security of major American businesses through extensive auditing and employee training.
Of course, this problem did not emerge overnight. Low tech attack techniques have existed long
before the invention of the computer. Dumpster diving is one of the oldest methods of information
gathering, a vital step for any attack. Today, most firms simply toss their paper out in the trash without

My Journey As A Spiritual Journey
Kaylan, I am scared I will not see you in heaven, my dad said to me crying one day. That is the very
moment that I reflect on when thinking about my spiritual pilgrimage. I had accepted Christ into my
life at a young age, but did not fully understand the depth of that relationship that I was entering into. I
made poor decisions my first two years in high school, and after realizing my choices I was making,
my dad questioned if I truly accepted Christ in the first place. I knew I had accepted Christ into my
life and received the gift of the Holy Spirit; however, I fell into temptation and quenched the Holy
Spirit when alerting me what I was doing was very wrong. My junior year was a year full of healing
and restoring for both me and my family. I believe that was the beginning of my spiritual pilgrimage
in that sense that I was finally understanding how to participate in the grace to grace relationship with
God. My parents quickly removed me from the public high school I was attending and placed me into
a small Christian high school. My youth group leader s wife, Mandy, was the math teacher, and she
quickly became my mentor for the next two years. I had met with her several times before, but was
never truly honest with her about my struggles and difficulties of understanding my relationship with
God. As we began to meet, she challenged me to reflect and understand the temptation that I fell in to,
but to also reflect on who I am in Christ and how to enter back into that

Italian Renaissance And The Renaissance
In the late 14th century to the 16th century, the Italian Renaissance was taking place and moving from
the Middle Ages at a time when the Catholic Church was indomitable to a period called The
Renaissance. After this rebirth in Italy began, it started spreading to other countries to then produce a
French Renaissance, an English Renaissance, and so on. Italy served a sort of birth place for the
Renaissance in European culture. During this time period, more and more people were placing
humans as the center of life and art, and the way they viewed every day concepts and ideas were
becoming more complex. They started questioning things that were never questioned in past and
exploring ideals that were never once explored. The people started breaking from the mold that society
had set for them, and some faced repercussions because of this. The people who were practicing this
new way of thinking viewed it as a time of powerful wisdom and classical learning after such a
cultural decline. In the beginning of the Italian Renaissance, people started turning from medieval life
and the traditional Catholic Church values toward the idea of individual success. They started looking
at life in this world as opposed to preparing for life in the next world as was established by the
Church. During this cultural shift, Italian people started seeing importance in art, literature, politics,
and personal life. They started looking toward their ancestors, the Greek and Roman culture, for

Essay On French Withdrawal From Indochina
Writer Virginia Thompson quoted, If France had not been victorious in the (First) World War it is no
exaggeration to say that she would never have been able to keep Indo China. It is also no exaggeration
to say that France s disastrous defeats in the early part of World War II were to be a major factor in
France s ultimate loss of its Indochinese colonies of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. Various reasons
account for the withdrawal of the French from Indochina (Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia) by 1954.
Since the start of the French Colonization of Indochina around 1893, tension was present in both
parties which was only deepened by the series of occurrences and notions that followed. The result of
WWII caused France to be significantly weakened, specifically the economy and the country as a
whole. This led to the abandonment of the French from the Southeast Asian countries, for it eventually

Ho Chi Minh (Prime Minister and Revolutionary leader of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam) and

majority. In the Asch Experiment, the majority of people involved were told to sometimes give the

The Importance Of Education In Public School Education
English Language Learners deserve the same right to a great public school education as their English
speaking peers. They deserve access to a rich curriculum and validation of their home language and
culture. They deserve educators who are trained to teach them, schools that welcome their families.
They deserve an education community that shares a sense of urgency and responsibility for their well
being. They deserve the best we have to give them. These are America s students, and the nation can t
afford to let them down. English Language learner student s performance in school has been
consistently improving in the school. ELL students exit in the English teaching program on average in

Essay On Road Safety In Developing Countries
Road Safety in Developing Countries
By
Hussein Chami
City University London

Introduction
Road traffic accidents is a global issue which needs urgent attention. About 1.24 million people die
each year as a result of road traffic crashes. If this issue is not addressed the number of deaths is
expected to increase to around 1.9 million. In addition to that tens of millions are injured. The topic of
road safety is neglected in third world countries although road accidents is the leading cause of death
among young people, children, pedestrians, and cyclists.
The majority of the world s traffic, more than 90%, accidents occur in developed countries although

These data will be examined thoroughly, both by descriptive statistics and statistical models to identify
the relationship between the accident rate and the factors that influence the accidents such as
competence, road conditions, vehicle condition etc. Finally recommendations on how to tackle these
factors will be delivered in order to reduce road accidents and therefore death rates.
Objectives of the Research
This research will focus on Lebanon as the main developing country. Primary causes of road traffic
accidents will be examined thoroughly and in depth as investigating road casualties is very complex
and needs a lot of interpretation. Increase in vehicle owner has also led to an increase in road accidents
and injuries. However there are also other factors that influence the increase of accidents and injuries.
In addition to that human related causes over the previous decades have increased the complexity of
the problem. Therefore an urgent attention is need to investigate and tackle the trends that lead to
traffic accidents.
Therefore the objective of this research is to:
Identify the major causes of traffic accidents in developing nations
Investigate the critical causes of accidents in developing countries (Lebanon Qatar)
Test and validate the hypothesis developed on the critical causes of road accidents using statistical
models
Use the UK road safety model for recommendations in order to improve the road safety issue in

The Archetype Of The Noble Savage
What is the Noble Savage? Authors James Fenimore Cooper, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Pontiac,
and Mary Rowlandson seek to answer to that very question in their respective writings. Each author
has a different take on the Noble Savage some focus more on nobility rather than savagery, others do
the inverse, and some have a good balance of the two. When coupled together, the varying viewpoints
lend themselves to paint a great picture of what the Noble Savage truly is: a complex archetype. After
examining each of the works by the authors, I have concluded that the two aspects which make up the
Noble Savage nobility and savagery are found in how they carry themselves, how they live, how they
go about killing and why, and ultimately how they feel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, let us examine just how the Noble Savage kills. In Rowlandson s Narrative, she depicts so much
death. Throughout the Narrative, the Noble Savage is said to have burned houses, knocked many
people on the head, chopped people on the head, stripped and split open some who they knocked on
the head, and all the while the Noble Savages would have roared, sung, ranted, and insulted
(Rowlandson 127 129). Now, the reason the Noble Savage kills is hinted at in The Last of the

the Noble Savage s hatred for the white man; he/she feels that the white man has corrupted his/her

The Use Of Communication In Superattural And Gray s...
Communication is key in everyday life and it is also an intricate part of television. Without the use of
communication, you would only be watching a blank screen because everything about the show
communicates details that are essential to the program. There are two in particular that display
excellent communication; the tv shows being compared and contrasted are Supernatural and Grey s
Anatomy whereas supernatural is an action fiction, thriller, Grey s Anatomy is a medical drama. In a
medical drama such as Grey s Anatomy, most of the action takes place in a hospital setting, whereas in
an action thriller like Supernatural, conflict often takes place in dark abandoned buildings. These
chosen places relate back to communication and help bring forth certain emotions that further draw
the viewer into the episode. Given the types of conflict associated with action thrillers and medical
dramas, Supernatural s atmosphere should be eerie and suspenseful, whereas Grey s Anatomy should
be thought provoking and dramatic. The rooms where action most often takes place in both shows are
incredibly contrasting, seeing as both shows are meant to communicate very different things. Most
often in Supernatural the actions that take place are in large abandoned buildings, with many dark
open spaces and closed doors with unknown things behind them. These environmental elements
nonverbally add to the atmosphere of the scene, dark spaces are often thought to be the hiding place of
corruption,

Effects Of The Monroe Doctrine
The Monroe Doctrine was established by U.S. president James Monroe and the U.S. secretary of state
John Quincy Adams. Their plan of the Monroe Doctrine represented a solid line where the Americans
will no longer tolerate interference from European powers in any way shape or form. For the most
part, America was minding its own business until Imperialism started booming in the late 1800 s.
Latin America was less developed and America saw South and Central America as perfect candidates
to extract resources and sell U.S. goods. The culture of capitalism was on the rise. The start of
Manifest Destiny began to construct U.S. foreign policy which led to America reaching towards the
Caribbean and Latin America to expand.
Firstly, If God and mission was the road to Manifest Destiny, Imperialism was the light that shined
bright to lead the way (Lubragge). America started off by investing in businesses and land all around
Latin America. Imperialism led to the U.S. taking over the Philippines, Guam, and Puerto Rico via the
Spanish American War (Lubragge). America was under the impression they were safeguarding the
world from Spanish oppression and began sculpting expansionist policies. The Spanish American War
put an end to Spain s colonial empire in the region and gave the United States complete control of the
Pacific. The U.S. victory led to a peace treaty between the U.S. and Spain, which gave all claims of
Cuba to the United States, while ceding sovereignty over Guam, Puerto Rico,

Somalia And Its Effects On Somalia
I don t recognize my people anymore. I feel Somalia is lost. There is no Somalia. It is just a name
(Abdi, 2016) . Over the past 20 years Somalia as a country has been in turmoil and constant fighting.
Today s Somalia is still a harsh environment and the people are unforgiving as they too are trying to
survive this oasis of violence. Considering Somalia in the news now we see after years of fighting and
trying to support this country with food, water, and security it has progressed but not quickly. It has
been a battle for any support to the country essentially taking two steps forward and one step back. In
2012 a new internationally backed government was installed: Somalia has shown progression but is
still being hindered by an Al Qaeda aligned group, Al Shabaab. Because of this newly backed
government Somalia had their first elected president since 1967. Due to Hassan Sheikh Mohamud
winning the popular vote we can see the country is setting stones to become politically stable. Hassan
Sheikh Mohamud had made plans but shelved next Presidential election due to lack of security in and
infrastructure (Somalia Country profile, 2016). I asses that he could potentially with these new powers
behind him change the way the country is headed for the better. Without more support from the
internationally backed government the president will only be able to do so much for his people and the
country. With Somalia beginning to produce off shore oil and gas on 21 October 2014 they have

Interviewing Techniques and their Accuracies: Body Maps and their Use in Court or Clinical Settings
Name: Claire McGregor

Date: Thursday 13th August 2015
Abstract
The present experiment s aim was to test how well children and adults can use body maps to show
where another person was touched. This experiment was also used to highlight how using body maps
as an interview technique could produce some inaccuracy and may not be a reliable way of getting
information. In this experiment a video was shown to both a group of adults between the ages of 18 23
years old and a group of children between 5 6 years old with a man who was helping to dress a little
girl named Antonia as a pirate. Both groups of participants were then asked to record where they saw
Antonia get touched in the video on a body map. The variables measured were the groups mean
number of correct touches reported and a mean accuracy score. The hypothesis for the experiment was
that adults would score higher on the number of correct touches and have a bigger accuracy score than
the children. This experiment supported the hypothesis, as the results were conclusive showing adults
had both a higher number of correct touches and accuracy score.

Compare And Contrast Galileo And Paine
Language has been an important part of an individual s life in order to communicate and understand
one another. However, Bacon, Galileo and Paine believe that language beyond the means of
communication can hinder our own understanding as sometimes can be. Language has fooled the
human mind to understanding the world without the idea of reasoning and rational thinking. In Bacon
s Novum Organum, especially in the Idols of the Market, he talks about how language can create
confusion rather than understanding through the random use of words. Nothing only does words create
confusion but lead mankind into vain and innumerable controversies and fallacies (34). Man is unable
to form specific words because of the lack of attention to nature and the usage of words that is difficult

He points out in his Letter to Christina of Tuscany that words differ by the context of their meaning
especially in the written Scriptures in order to accommodate every population. He argues that words
do not mean what they are out to be and which appear to differ from the absolute truth so far as the
bare meaning of the words is concerned (18). Galileo argues that some of the biblical passages should
not be taken literally because some have different meaning beneath their words. Lastly, Paine claims
in his writing of The Age of Reason, God s message cannot be in language due to its incapable of
interpretation in different languages which prevent others to understand what the Bible ought to say.
This is all done by a revelation which presents a problem on what the word truly means as something
communicated immediately from God to man (162). This inhibits understanding because not
everything is given through first hand experience but rather hearsay from others. Language rather than
giving providing clear understanding, unfortunately brings confusion that leads to fallacies and

  • 2. Junk Food In Schools (A Serious Epidemic) Junk Food In Schools ( A Serious Epidemic) Junk food according to Merriam Webster s dictionary is food that is high in calories but low in nutritional content (Merriam s Webster Dictionary). It is a very unhealthy group of foods that Americans eat and is part of the lifestyle of the average american. Junk Food is very common in American schools, and Scholars and Scientists alike have attributed this to the extreme rise of obesity in the United States. Junk foods should be prohibited in schools because, they lead to obesity, they worsen the medical expenses of the US economy and its citizens, and they sabotage the human health with long term consequences.; Junk food leads to obesity. The amount of money used to treat patients with health related reasons stemming from consumption of junk food is extreme and hurts the economy and its GDP (Gross Domestic Product). Renowned authors Deborah Lee and Nancy Sprague testify that Economically, US health care spending on chronic illness as a percent of gross domestic product is substantial (Point: Public Schools 5). This quote on its own should be able to raise awareness in the fight against junk food in schools and it needs to be heard. Absolute amounts of how much the government spends on these health related illnesses have not been calculated but the numbers are expected to be at very high amounts. Speaking of economic health costs, another way junk food negatively impacts the economy is through the way they affect the revenue of companies that provide healthy food. It is of utmost importance that people know that Financial challenges find families purchasing cost effective foods which tend not to be the healthiest products the local supermarket stock. (Point: Public Schools 9) according to authors Lee and Sprague . One way people will be able to avoid buying junk food is if companies that provide healthy dieting reduce the prices of their goods so that financially challenged families will not have to resort to cheap junk food to be able to live. • 3. Biography on Tupac Shakur Essay Biography on Tupac Shakur In much the same fashion that Kurt Cobain defined the alternative rock music scene, Tupac Shakur defined the hip hop scene as we know it today. What made Tupac (also known as 2pac) so special was his enormous talent, his on screen friendly looks, and the sense that he was real and talked the talk, while walking the walk. Since his death, there s been a deluge of speculation on who and why, and even if, but unfortunately still no concrete answers exist for any of these questions. Born June 16, 1971, Tupac Amaru Shakur, who was named after Tupac Amaru, the Inca Indian that was sentenced to death by the Spaniards, was originally a newborn from Brooklyn, New York. He later was transplanted and grew most of his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His main notoriety though was through music, and he followed up his successful debut with Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. in 1993, which also was a crossover pop success. In 1995 he released Me Against the World and his last living album release came with All Eyez on Me in 1996. Shakur s post celebrity run ins with the law were almost as frequent as when he was growing up. In 1992 he was arrested when a stray bullet killed a 6 year old child during a scuffle between Shakur and two others, though later charges against Shakur were dropped. In 1993 Tupac was arrested for allegedly shooting 2 off duty Butts County Atlanta police officers who were harassing a black motorist, but the charges were again dropped. Ironically, one of the Butts County officers was shot in the ass, and in 1998 Deputy Scott Whitwell won a $210,000 lawsuit for the incident. Then, that same year, Tupac was accused of sexual abuse against a 19 year old woman in a New York City luxury hotel. Shakur s legal troubles continued in 1994 when he punched out Menace II Society codirector Allen Hughes and served a 15 day jail sentence for his actions. The sexual charge came to haunt Shakur in that 1994 as he was convicted and sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison, and to add insult to injury, Shakur was shot 5 times and robbed of his jewelry the same day, a mugging that Shakur later claimed came from the Notorious B.I.G. was responsible for hiring those who shot ... • 4. Moscrop Hallway Assignment I sat near the window as a pop of orange then a strand of yellow started to appear. They gradually wove together in intricate patterns leaving a trail of light behind for the sun. The concoction of colours slowly revealed the barren world filled with nothing but white snow, sprinkled on its landscape. The sun followed pursuit of the blend of colours as it began its journey to the skies. Its rays penetrated through the windows bringing warmth that seeps into me along with the cold, frigid air of the Canadian winter. I would stay still to admire the view until the trance was broken by the familiar pressure of the student s feet on my back. A hallway is like the colours and the students are the sun. I am the path way that the students follow to get to wherever they need to go, without me they would be lost. If you pass by the hallways of Moscrop Secondary, you would notice the dull walls with paper flyers stuck to it and the grey and red lockers permanently attached to it. You would look up and see an abundance of paintings of flags and pictures exuding positive messages and you would think it was nice, just nice. Then you would continue on your way not even noticing the floor you stand on that made it possible for you to view the dull walls and the paintings on the ceiling, not even a glance. Well, that s alright, people tend to over look me as just something to stand on but you don t see it the way I do. The way I view things, is that I am the pillar that supports the walls ... White s essay and my own juvenile ventures, childhood memories influence one s understanding of identity because they can restore an appreciation for the simple wonders of youth in an individual s older self, and demonstrate the characteristic developments one undergoes on the path to adulthood. A. The memoirs of one s childhood may remind an individual of their passed admiration for the simple things, allowing an individual to reaffirm such a naïve fondness within adulthood. i. • 9. Summary Of The Chemistry Of Ferrioxalate The goal of this experiment is to prepare a photosensitive solution and explore its properties. While analyzing the solution, one will learn how to successfully handle these sensitive chemicals and then establish its properties via spectrophotometry. Introduction1 During this experiment, a ferrioxalate solution will be produced from a solution of ferric nitrate that is reacted with oxalic acid. In order to become and oxalate ion, the oxalic acid can donate up to two protons. Ferrioxalate, or tris(oxalate)ferrate(III), is the product of three oxalate ions on Fe(III), as seen in the figure below2: Ferrioxalate as an ion can undergo a photochemical reaction if it is exposed to light which results in the rather unstable complex of diaquabis(oxalate)ferrate(II) ion. There is no visible change when the reaction occurs since both the reactants and products are colourless. The second solution, potassium ferricyanide, will be prepared and used to test the extent of the photochemical reaction by adding it to the first solution, ferrioxalate. The ferrioxalate solution will be tested with different colours and exposure times of light. We will also establish what colours of light it absorbs by using spectrophotometry. When exposed to light the ferrioxalate solution will undergo a reaction and produce diaquabis(oxalate)ferrate(II) ion. Adding the ferricyanide solution allows us to see the changes that are occurring. The ferricyanide reacts with the Fe2+ of the photo reacted product, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Firstly, we will go through some previous notable dual process theories. Then we shall discuss more in depth Kahneman s two systems theory. 1.2.1. Previous Theories: William James set the foundations for dual process theory. He theorized that there were two different types of thinking, empirical thought for complex things and associative one for comparison or abstractions. These types of thinking were later developed into the two system theory. Evans (1984) proposed dual process theory, suggesting two distinct thought processes: heuristic and analytic. • 13. Weimar Republic Failure There are many historians that believe the Weimar Republic was doomed from the beginning of its existence as a rump state of the once powerful German Empire. Other historians believe the republic is not such a failure as it seems in textbooks and online articles. Both sides unanimously agree that the Weimar Republic was a failed attempt at bringing democracy to a predominantly monarchical (and tyrannical) Europe. The majority of historians that agree the ill fated Weimar Republic was a smudge on Germany during the Interwar Period have a large amount of validities to support that claim. However, these validities also apply to the latter (to a lesser extent) , with one major problem resolved by the republic. One of the claims is that the Weimar Republic was simply too weak to establish itself as a political power in Germany, being contested by left and right wing extremist groups. There were often frequent rebellions in Germany, led by Communists and Marxists. The military at the time was far too outnumbered to quell these rebellions in their own jurisdiction. Another major impediment was the hyperinflation of the currency of that time, the German Mark. After the Great War, Germany was in a state of utter devastation and rebellion. The Kaiser had just fled Germany, and she was now without a leader, essentially cutting head off the snake. The military had also returned in a similar shape. The German economy was in ruins. • 14. Law Of Gratitude Essay 8. The Law of Gratitude: The Law of Gratitude plays out similar to the Law of Cause and Effect or the natural principle of action and reaction. As we look at the law itself, when we express thankfulness to the God Force for that which we have received (even though it is still in the unseen), it is an expenditure of force, therefore our gratitude cannot fail to reach God, and when it does the reaction is an instantaneous move toward you. Consider two properly aligned magnets. They are two forces moving in opposite directions while moving toward one another. Gratitude draws you and the Creative Force, God, directly toward each other. If our gratitude is strong enough and consistent then there will always be a move of that which we are co creating toward us. When the God Force moves toward us it brings all that it is. The Law of Gratitude also dictates that if our heart is not full of gratitude, then something else will take its place. Physics teaches that nature will not tolerate a vacuum. That is to say that if something is removed then something else must take its place. If our hearts are not filled with gratitude, then our hearts will be filled with ungratefulness. An ungrateful heart will take you from what you want as rapidly as a grateful heart will take you toward what you want. The Law of Gratitude nourishes our faith, because as a grateful heart and mind continually expects good things, expectation becomes faith. This faith then, becomes both the cornerstone and the capstone of what it is we are building which comes only from our Universal Supplier, God. Gratitude toward God has the power ... Tieck s Magelone, Op. 33 No. 3. As text for his song cycle, Brahms chose excerpts from the novel Die schöne Magelone by Ludwig Tieck (1773 1853). The novel tells a love story between Peter von Provence and Magelone, the king s daughter. In this particular song, Peter and Magelone falls in love with each other. Though Brahms is most widely known as an instrumental composer, more than half of his opus numbers are devoted to vocal works. In Brahms song cycles, he avoided the traditional strophic forms. Instead, he chooses dramatic shifts in music material, unpredictable harmonies, and sudden changes in tempo and rhythm. The song starts with an unusually long piano introduction that lasted 8 measures, gives an idea of the large scale of this song. The rolled chords (mm.1 8) and broken octaves underneath the beautiful melody suggesting Peter s lute. The vocal line begins with the expressive melody identical to the beginning of the piano introduction. It is characterized by embellishments on words sind (to be), busen (bosom) and wünsche (desire). Emphasizing Peter yearning for Magelone s love. The second stanza is set to the same music as the first stanza, and Brahms even indicates this with a repeat sign rather than notating the music twice. That is the very moment that I reflect on when thinking about my spiritual pilgrimage. I had accepted Christ into my life at a young age, but did not fully understand the depth of that relationship that I was entering into. I made poor decisions my first two years in high school, and after realizing my choices I was making, my dad questioned if I truly accepted Christ in the first place. I knew I had accepted Christ into my life and received the gift of the Holy Spirit; however, I fell into temptation and quenched the Holy Spirit when alerting me what I was doing was very wrong. My junior year was a year full of healing and restoring for both me and my family. I believe that was the beginning of my spiritual pilgrimage in that sense that I was finally understanding how to participate in the grace to grace relationship with God. My parents quickly removed me from the public high school I was attending and placed me into a small Christian high school. My youth group leader s wife, Mandy, was the math teacher, and she quickly became my mentor for the next two years. I had met with her several times before, but was never truly honest with her about my struggles and difficulties of understanding my relationship with God. As we began to meet, she challenged me to reflect and understand the temptation that I fell in to, but to also reflect on who I am in Christ and how to enter back into that ... • 29. Italian Renaissance And The Renaissance In the late 14th century to the 16th century, the Italian Renaissance was taking place and moving from the Middle Ages at a time when the Catholic Church was indomitable to a period called The Renaissance. After this rebirth in Italy began, it started spreading to other countries to then produce a French Renaissance, an English Renaissance, and so on. Italy served a sort of birth place for the Renaissance in European culture. During this time period, more and more people were placing humans as the center of life and art, and the way they viewed every day concepts and ideas were becoming more complex. They started questioning things that were never questioned in past and exploring ideals that were never once explored. The people started breaking from the mold that society had set for them, and some faced repercussions because of this. The people who were practicing this new way of thinking viewed it as a time of powerful wisdom and classical learning after such a cultural decline. In the beginning of the Italian Renaissance, people started turning from medieval life and the traditional Catholic Church values toward the idea of individual success. They started looking at life in this world as opposed to preparing for life in the next world as was established by the Church. During this cultural shift, Italian people started seeing importance in art, literature, politics, and personal life. They started looking toward their ancestors, the Greek and Roman culture, for ... • 30. Essay On French Withdrawal From Indochina Writer Virginia Thompson quoted, If France had not been victorious in the (First) World War it is no exaggeration to say that she would never have been able to keep Indo China. It is also no exaggeration to say that France s disastrous defeats in the early part of World War II were to be a major factor in France s ultimate loss of its Indochinese colonies of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. Various reasons account for the withdrawal of the French from Indochina (Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia) by 1954. Since the start of the French Colonization of Indochina around 1893, tension was present in both parties which was only deepened by the series of occurrences and notions that followed. The result of WWII caused France to be significantly weakened, specifically the economy and the country as a whole. This led to the abandonment of the French from the Southeast Asian countries, for it eventually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ho Chi Minh (Prime Minister and Revolutionary leader of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam) and the communist group he established, the Viet Minh , were very instrumental regarding the process of the withdrawal of the foreign armies from Indochina. The first Indochina war was a key turning point of French colonization of Indochina. The newly modern military tactics like Guerrilla warfare destabilized the French s army and flipped the odds for the Indochinese civilians and nationalists. • 36. The Archetype Of The Noble Savage What is the Noble Savage? Authors James Fenimore Cooper, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Pontiac, and Mary Rowlandson seek to answer to that very question in their respective writings. Each author has a different take on the Noble Savage some focus more on nobility rather than savagery, others do the inverse, and some have a good balance of the two. When coupled together, the varying viewpoints lend themselves to paint a great picture of what the Noble Savage truly is: a complex archetype. After examining each of the works by the authors, I have concluded that the two aspects which make up the Noble Savage nobility and savagery are found in how they carry themselves, how they live, how they go about killing and why, and ultimately how they feel ... Throughout the Narrative, the Noble Savage is said to have burned houses, knocked many people on the head, chopped people on the head, stripped and split open some who they knocked on the head, and all the while the Noble Savages would have roared, sung, ranted, and insulted (Rowlandson 127 129). Now, the reason the Noble Savage kills is hinted at in The Last of the Mohicans, but it is made explicitly clear in Pontiac s Speech at Detroit. • 37. The Use Of Communication In Superattural And Gray s... Communication is key in everyday life and it is also an intricate part of television. Without the use of communication, you would only be watching a blank screen because everything about the show communicates details that are essential to the program. There are two in particular that display excellent communication; the tv shows being compared and contrasted are Supernatural and Grey s Anatomy whereas supernatural is an action fiction, thriller, Grey s Anatomy is a medical drama. In a medical drama such as Grey s Anatomy, most of the action takes place in a hospital setting, whereas in an action thriller like Supernatural, conflict often takes place in dark abandoned buildings. These chosen places relate back to communication and help bring forth certain emotions that further draw the viewer into the episode. Given the types of conflict associated with action thrillers and medical dramas, Supernatural s atmosphere should be eerie and suspenseful, whereas Grey s Anatomy should be thought provoking and dramatic. The rooms where action most often takes place in both shows are incredibly contrasting, seeing as both shows are meant to communicate very different things. Most often in Supernatural the actions that take place are in large abandoned buildings, with many dark open spaces and closed doors with unknown things behind them. These environmental elements nonverbally add to the atmosphere of the scene, dark spaces are often thought to be the hiding place of corruption, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Effects Of The Monroe Doctrine The Monroe Doctrine was established by U.S. president James Monroe and the U.S. secretary of state John Quincy Adams. Their plan of the Monroe Doctrine represented a solid line where the Americans will no longer tolerate interference from European powers in any way shape or form. For the most part, America was minding its own business until Imperialism started booming in the late 1800 s. Latin America was less developed and America saw South and Central America as perfect candidates to extract resources and sell U.S. goods. The culture of capitalism was on the rise. The start of Manifest Destiny began to construct U.S. foreign policy which led to America reaching towards the Caribbean and Latin America to expand. Firstly, If God and mission was the road to Manifest Destiny, Imperialism was the light that shined bright to lead the way (Lubragge). America started off by investing in businesses and land all around Latin America. Imperialism led to the U.S. taking over the Philippines, Guam, and Puerto Rico via the Spanish American War (Lubragge). America was under the impression they were safeguarding the world from Spanish oppression and began sculpting expansionist policies. The Spanish American War put an end to Spain s colonial empire in the region and gave the United States complete control of the Pacific. The U.S. victory led to a peace treaty between the U.S. and Spain, which gave all claims of Cuba to the United States, while ceding sovereignty over Guam, Puerto Rico, ... • 39. Somalia And Its Effects On Somalia I don t recognize my people anymore. I feel Somalia is lost. There is no Somalia. It is just a name (Abdi, 2016) . Over the past 20 years Somalia as a country has been in turmoil and constant fighting. Today s Somalia is still a harsh environment and the people are unforgiving as they too are trying to survive this oasis of violence. Considering Somalia in the news now we see after years of fighting and trying to support this country with food, water, and security it has progressed but not quickly. It has been a battle for any support to the country essentially taking two steps forward and one step back. In 2012 a new internationally backed government was installed: Somalia has shown progression but is still being hindered by an Al Qaeda aligned group, Al Shabaab. Because of this newly backed government Somalia had their first elected president since 1967. Due to Hassan Sheikh Mohamud winning the popular vote we can see the country is setting stones to become politically stable. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud had made plans but shelved next Presidential election due to lack of security in and infrastructure (Somalia Country profile, 2016). I asses that he could potentially with these new powers behind him change the way the country is headed for the better. Without more support from the internationally backed government the president will only be able to do so much for his people and the country. Interviewing Techniques And Their Use Of Body Maps Interviewing Techniques and their Accuracies: Body Maps and their Use in Court or Clinical Settings Name: Claire McGregor Lab Class Number: 131 Student ID: 5259490 Lab Demonstrator: Lianne Atkinson Date: Thursday 13th August 2015 Abstract The present experiment s aim was to test how well children and adults can use body maps to show where another person was touched. This experiment was also used to highlight how using body maps as an interview technique could produce some inaccuracy and may not be a reliable way of getting information. In this experiment a video was shown to both a group of adults between the ages of 18 23 years old and a group of children between 5 6 years old with a man who was helping to dress a little girl named Antonia as a pirate. Both groups of participants were then asked to record where they saw Antonia get touched in the video on a body map. The variables measured were the groups mean number of correct touches reported and a mean accuracy score. The hypothesis for the experiment was that adults would score higher on the number of correct touches and have a bigger accuracy score than the children. This experiment supported the hypothesis, as the results were conclusive showing adults had both a higher number of correct touches and accuracy score. • 41. Compare And Contrast Galileo And Paine Language has been an important part of an individual s life in order to communicate and understand one another. However, Bacon, Galileo and Paine believe that language beyond the means of communication can hinder our own understanding as sometimes can be. Language has fooled the human mind to understanding the world without the idea of reasoning and rational thinking. In Bacon s Novum Organum, especially in the Idols of the Market, he talks about how language can create confusion rather than understanding through the random use of words. Nothing only does words create confusion but lead mankind into vain and innumerable controversies and fallacies (34). Man is unable to form specific words because of the lack of attention to nature and the usage of words that is difficult to define in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He points out in his Letter to Christina of Tuscany that words differ by the context of their meaning especially in the written Scriptures in order to accommodate every population. He argues that words do not mean what they are out to be and which appear to differ from the absolute truth so far as the bare meaning of the words is concerned (18). Galileo argues that some of the biblical passages should not be taken literally because some have different meaning beneath their words. Lastly, Paine claims in his writing of The Age of Reason, God s message cannot be in language due to its incapable of interpretation in different languages which prevent others to understand what the Bible ought to say. This is all done by a revelation which presents a problem on what the word truly means as something communicated immediately from God to man (162). This inhibits understanding because not everything is given through first hand experience but rather hearsay from others.
