2. Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel
This is the film poster for this movie. The colour scheme, layout and
the mise en scene is fitted and fits obviously with the genre of the
film. The photo is really effective because it gives away the genre. The
posture of both Katherine and Josh denotes the genre. They are laid
back with a tiring look however this suggest family life and also fits
with the name of the film. There is also a mess which denotes the
family life.
The colour scheme used is white, red and brownish colours. The main
colours used is the black, white and red. This is effective because the
red connotes love however because it isn’t a bright blood red it
doesn’t suggest any danger. It is the slight pink that suggests the
love and light heartedness. The use of white mainly suggests the
love genre because of the high key lighting. It also fits with the clean
theme and the sheek.
3. Poster analysis continued…
Setting: The setting for this poster is effective because it suggests the family life
and it tells the audience about the genre of film. The home life and the sofa
highlights this.
The font: The font used for the film poster is simple and this is something that
makes it effective. I like this because it goes well with the rest of the poster. The
bold font is effective because it stands out from the rest of the poster however it
still makes the rest of the poster equally look effective.
Quotes: The quotes used are effective because they are done at the top where
there is a lot of space so this was used effectively for the company quotes and the
magazine quotes. By using similar font, it doesn’t look too much to the eyes which
has been done well.
