All three of the characters are wearing
fashionable clothing which is a generic
convention associated with popular people in
teen romance movies.
The font of the text is looks handwritten. This looks
like it is written in a diary and one of the characters
have written it. they have used this font because it is
fancy and it ties in with the fashion and fancy theme
of the poster.
The look the girls have on there face relates to
the anchor at the bottom “clueless” they look
like they are confused and do not know what
they are doing.
In terms of mise-en-scene the staircase and the banister
look like they are very wealthy girls because you would
only see this type of banister and stair cases in very
expensive houses. This could connote to the audience
that the girls get everything handed to them and do not
think about what you have to do to get money and be
wealthy so they are clueless.
In terms of costume the girls are wearing short
girly outfits this could connote that girls that look
wear this type of clothing are clueless.
The colour theme of this poster is white and purple these are
the dominant colours in this poster. One of the reasons for
this could be that they want to show that if you can afford to
have white floors and white clothes then you can afford a
cleaner that keeps everything looking right and again it
shows that the girls are not doing anything for them self
Two of the characters are holding text books
which could connote that the movie has
something to do with education and trying to
teach these clueless teenagers.
The women in the middle is not holding a book she has car
keys and a telephone in her hand which means that it could
show that she is not focused on her education. And is the
most confused out of all of the girls
The gold that is used on the Banister shows wealth because
you need to have money to afford gold things having gold on
the banister connotes that these three girls are in the upper class
in terms of social class.
The girl that is on the side has a different facial expression
than the other girls which could connote that she is the only
one that is not clueless in the group. It could also connote
that she intelligent as well.
Clueless is the only bold text that stands out on this poster
which means that it is the anchor for the images on this
poster it creates meaning foe the girls facial expressions
and what they are wearing.
The girl in the middle is wearing red which could mean
several things love, danger, blood, fire etc.. . We know
that this is a romance movie. This connotes that she
might be a dangerous/ bad girl that falls in love.
