RELEVANCE

 Gender detection and age detection using speech analysis is
very helpful in security activities and in rescue operations.
OBJECTIVE

 The project aims at determining the frequency of a given voice
sample and then comparing it with the given range of the
male/female voice frequency or the adult/child voice
  frequency.
METHODOLOGY

 Take input as a voice sample.
 Count the zero crossings in the sample.
 Calculate the frequency of the voice sample by dividing the
sampling frequency by double of the quotient of the length of
the original signal and number of zero crossings.
>>>>ZERO CROSSINGS<<<<
1 .Take a loop from i=1 to 1 less than the total length.
2.Compare the consecutive terms in the sample matrix and if
there is any sign dif ference, increase the counter variable by
   one.
METHODOLOGY

>>>>AVERAGING:REDUCING THE EFFECT OF NOISE<<<<
a) 7 Point averaging
      1) Take the average of first set of seven values of sample
and save it in the third one.
      2) Take the average of the second set of the seven
elements ,i.e. from the second to the eighth one and
save it in the fourth position.
3)Similarly, repeat the process for the rest of the
         elements.

HOW MATLAB DOES IT…
HURDLES

 “Noise” created unwanted frequencies , due to which we didn’t
get the required frequency just by calculating the zero
  crossings.
CONCEPTUAL TAKE-AWAY

Averaging:
    1)Why it is done?
    2)How it is done?
