12. Reception observation
During the course, you will be observed whilst covering our
reception area here at Waterside
Please take your portfolio with you. The ‘Visitor Log’
page will inform you of the evidence needed.
• You are to familiarise yourself with the reception area and
information available to you
• If someone comes to reception, you can ask them how you
may help them or who they are here to see
• If the phone rings, you are more than welcome to answer it
(use the script as a guide)

13. ADMIN TASK 3
• Scenario: You are working in reception at Waterside and need to book a
meeting room, using the calendar on the reception PC.
• The meeting will need to be held at 1:40pm – 2:30pm, in a room with 12
computers and needs to be on a Wednesday afternoon, in the next 2
weeks, when the room is free.
• During the meeting they will need access to the wi-fi, pens, paper, flipchart
and have access to a computer for presentation purposes.
• Coffee and tea will need to be available for 12 people
• You need to:
• Book the meeting with correct time/location and include relevant
information about what is required for the meeting.
14. ADMIN TASK 5
• Log in to Moodle
• Navigate to Week 6 – You will find Task 5
• You will need to download this file from Moodle and
save it to your pen drive (Remember to use an
appropriate file name)
Scenario – You are an administrator and a trainee has
started to input data onto a spreadsheet. Your boss
would like this completing by the end of the day but it
needs standardising and should look professional.
