8. A bit about the
Healthcare Assistant role
• Full-time role = 37.5 hours a week
• Preston/Chorley Hospital
• £18,005 - £19,337 per annum, pro rata
You will play a vital role in the care of patients, helping with
the day-to-day needs of patients through the provision of
help with personal care, meals and mobility, as well as
performing medical checks such as taking temperatures,
pulse and respiration rate.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following:

• Grade C/Grade 4-9/Level 2 Mathematics/English and have a copy of
certificates

• Previous Experience of dealing with the public
• Understanding of concept and application of confidentiality

pre-employment course with LAL?

successful in application for the LTHTR

11. Implementation – How will we do it?
The programme will be delivered remotely over 5
days and will include;
• Daily online and interactive live workshops - delivered
by a tutor
• Submission of independent tasks
• Feedback on tasks/application responses
• Daily online question and answer sessions/Progress
checks
12. On this Pre-Employment
Programme, you will:
• Undertake relevant training and development to support with a successful
application for the LTHTR Healthcare Assistant role
• Explore skills, qualities, behaviours and attributes needed for the Healthcare
Assistant role
• Analyse a job description to understand the role and match your own skills,
training, knowledge, behaviours and attributes to the requirements
• Consider how you can meet each of the NHS values during the role of a
Healthcare Assistant
• Submit tailored answers to application questions and receive feedback
• Apply the STAR technique to your own competencies – To support during
application/interview
• Undertake a mock interview to help you prepare for an interview with LTHTR
• Undertake end-assessments to obtain qualifications covered in the training
• Apply for the LTHTR Healthcare Assistant role
13. Your Time on Programme
Daily: 9:30am until 2:30pm
• Interactive live sessions – Each day – Details and
times are on your activity planner
• Tasks are set on Moodle in daily sections, with rough
timings on your activity planner
• All tasks should be completed by the end of each day,
to ensure you are on track, and allow us to mark and
provide feedback promptly
14. What you need for this
programme
• Access to a computer/laptop essential
• Internet connection
• Webcam/video/sound capability
• Photo ID – For assessments on Friday
If you only have a mobile phone or just a tablet – You need
to email me this morning so we can check the device
capability of doing assessments whilst in a live session with
your camera/sound on.
This is a requirement of completing the end
assessments
