The roles are;
1. Healthcare Assistant Pathway
2. Nursing Career Pathway
8. NHS Fast-track details – Pathway 1
Healthcare Assistant pathway (1)

Trust Induction followed by fast-track study, from home, for the
Care Certificate, delivered through on-line teaching over 1 or 2
weeks.
Attend a full day (weekend) skills induction / assessment on-
site at Burnley General Hospital.
Complete the Care Certificate competency booklet, and this will
require some self-study outside of the taught sessions.
Followed by 2 weeks supported work experience on one of
our wards*, during which time our trainees will be expected to
finalise their competency workbooks.
Successful candidates will have a guaranteed job offer, starting
immediately, at one of the Trust sites. (*this may include COVID
wards, but full PPE and training will be provided)
9. NHS Fast-track details – Pathway 2
Nursing Career Pathway (2)
Successful candidates will follow the same fast track training at the
HCA pathway.
On successful completion of this training, candidates will be offered an
apprenticeship contract.
The salary and terms and conditions will be the same as the HCA
candidates, but these individuals will be supported to undertake a
Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification, delivered by one of our local
College partners.
This will take approximately 18 months to complete and will involve
both on and off the job learning. On completion of this qualification,
candidates will continue to be employed as a Healthcare Assistant but
will have the experience and qualification to enable them to progress to
further study for other roles including Nursing Associate, Assistant
Practitioner or a Nursing Apprenticeship.
Trainees on either pathway will be employed on Bank contracts
for the duration of the training and paid for this training on
acceptance of a substantive contract.

In addition, applicants must be able to commit to the fast-track training requirements
outlined above and have access to a PC / internet at home to be able to undertake the
training (this can be done in 1-week full time or over 2 weeks part time).
In order to meet the entry criteria for further study, applicants for the Nursing career
pathway will have a level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths or the
ability to achieve this alongside their Level 3 vocational qualification.
