Environment of Presentation
I have got a picture of the computer I used where I stored all the information that I need
for the presentation; I’ve also used an interactive board where everyone will see my
presentation, a controller that controls the interactive board to change slide so I don’t
have to stand by the iMac. Lastly, an iMac where I setup my presentation for the class.
Evidence of my Completed
Pitch
Evidence of Performing the Pitch
Evidence of Performing the Pitch
Witness Statement
Here is my witness
statement. Witness
statement states
that I have done my
presentation in front
of the publisher;
also the witness
statement contains
what I have
covered within the
presentation, what I
have done well and
what I could
improve.
Feedback - particular strengths
The particular strengths that I have received from my pitch is that
I have produced a realistic growth breakdown, a very detailed
budget summary, a comparison with the competitor (inspiration),
the sales figured breakdown and lastly, comparison between my
first drafts of my front cover and double page spread to my final
front cover and double page spread. Moreover, through the
breakdown of researching behind my masthead such as the
purpose of why my magazine is called “Tune iN”, the layout of
my presentation of how they are not crammed with information
but very neatly and clear presented. Moreover, as an editor I
have considered the feedback well and clearly demonstrated
what I did to improve. Lastly, keeping that brand identity by
linking it to my Twitter and Facebook pages and retains the
magazine images.
Feedback - suggested improvements
The feedback for suggested improvement that I have received is
that I need to source where I have found the information’s from
such how much will it cost me to pay for my finance team,
editorial team, journalists, reporters, advertising team, production
manager and social media executive. Moreover, constructing
an above and below the line marketing, for example, television,
internet, radio and billboards (Above the Line Marketing) and
direct mail marketing, door-to-door marketing, exterior location
marketing and email marketing (Below the Line Marketing).
Furthermore, avoid reading out from the board too much so
make eye contact to whom I am presenting to such as my
classmates and teacher. Lastly, rather than saying “I forgot to
add it on”, say “I have not develop it yet”.
Pitch Itself
My pitch itself does now contains the necessary content based
on the feedback given. For example, sourcing where I obtained
my financials (costs etc.) from and using the correct terminology
such as 'Push' and 'Pull' marketing, 'Above the Line' Marketing
and 'Below the Line' Marketing; also adding more detail for the
promotion maybe above and below the line promotion.
Magazine Page Improvements (Front Cover)
As you can see I have included my first draft to see the comparison with my final piece. I have
adjusted the alignments and making sure that all the cover lines and headlines are all line.
Moreover, with the main image I have made the artist brighter to make him stand out.
Furthermore, I have stick into the colour scheme such as blue, pink and
black.
With my double page spread, I have done exactly the same as my front cover slide such as
comparing my first draft of my double page spread to my final piece. As you can see from the
images that I have changed the colours that I used from my first to my final. The reason why I
have changed this is that I want to stick with the colour scheme to portray my understanding
into this project and to make it easier for my target audience to adapt to my magazine by
sticking to one colour schemes rather than changing it and surprises them.

Magazine Page Improvements
Interview & quote relates
I have added the text
from the interview and
picked the most
interesting line from the
interview and made
them bigger and bold to
make it interesting.
Editing
As you can
see, I have
edited the
main image of
the front cover.
With the ‘key facts’ I have added a photo of
the artist, added a title and lastly, his birthday
name, the date he was born and his
hometown. Moreover, with the text I have
stuck with the colour scheme such as pink,
blue and white to ‘signify’ (De Saussure) brand
identify within the magazine.
You can see the contrast
between the old brand
identity and the new brand
identity. The reason why I
have changed the brand
identity is to make it more
noticeable.
New
Old
I have changed the ‘dead space’
underneath the main image from “Facts
about Jake Miller” into an advertising for
his new release album “Lion Heart”. This
‘signifies’ (De Saussure) that this will
attract more audience and be willing to
buy his new album which raise the
unique selling point of the artist and to
the magazine. Moreover, I have added
his social media account such as Twitter,
Instagram and Snapchat.
Magazine Page Improvements
Survey Monkey
The results that I have received from this question
helps me the biggest strength of my presentation
such as the comparison with my competitors and
a very impressive summary of the future issues and
what the magazine will cover. Also my social
media marketing looked really “impressive”. Lastly,
one of the comment says “very nice comparisons
with your competitors and a very impressive
summary of the future issues and what the
magazine will cover”. This connotes that I have
ticked all the important features that need to be
included within my pitch. Another positive
comment that I have found is how “great detail
about the connotations behind her masthead,
and really took on board the feedback given to
the first drafts”. This connotes that I have included
the most important feature into my magazine and
how I have act upon to the feedback.
For the improvements that I could have done for my
presentation is to avoid phrases like "I forgot to add it in" and
avoid reading information from the board too much.
Moreover, more detail on demographics & spending power.
This connotes that I have gone too quick with some of the
slides that some of them was not able to read and take it in
and also going in more detail with some of them such as the
promotion of the magazine.
Conclusion
In conclusion, LO4 is all about being able to pitch ideas on
proposed print-based products to an editor, client or focus group
for feedback. Within this LO it includes the evidence of me
performing the pitch, evidence of my witness statement to
illustrate that the editor has seen it and has given me feedback
of particular strengths and suggestions of where areas of my
pitch that need improvements. Furthermore, I have added a
sample of improvements that I have made such as my magazine
page improvements which ‘signifies’ (De Saussure) the before
and after. The purpose of this is to portray the process of making
my magazines and how every detail counts.

Unit 13 (LO4) – Be able to pitch ideas on proposed print-based products to an editor, client or focus group for feedback

  • 2. Contents Page Slide No. Contents 3 Environment of Presentation 4 Evidence of my Completed Pitch 5 Evidence of Performing the Pitch 6 Evidence of Performing the Pitch 7 Witness Statement 8 Feedback - particular strengths 9 Feedback - suggested improvements Slide No. Contents 10 Pitch Itself 11 Magazine Page Improvements (Front Cover) 12 Magazine Page Improvements (Double Page Spread) 13 Magazine Page Improvements 14 Magazine Page Improvements 15 Survey Monkey 16 Conclusion
  • 3. Environment of Presentation I have got a picture of the computer I used where I stored all the information that I need for the presentation; I’ve also used an interactive board where everyone will see my presentation, a controller that controls the interactive board to change slide so I don’t have to stand by the iMac. Lastly, an iMac where I setup my presentation for the class.
  • 4. Evidence of my Completed Pitch
  • 7. Witness Statement Here is my witness statement. Witness statement states that I have done my presentation in front of the publisher; also the witness statement contains what I have covered within the presentation, what I have done well and what I could improve.
  • 8. Feedback - particular strengths The particular strengths that I have received from my pitch is that I have produced a realistic growth breakdown, a very detailed budget summary, a comparison with the competitor (inspiration), the sales figured breakdown and lastly, comparison between my first drafts of my front cover and double page spread to my final front cover and double page spread. Moreover, through the breakdown of researching behind my masthead such as the purpose of why my magazine is called “Tune iN”, the layout of my presentation of how they are not crammed with information but very neatly and clear presented. Moreover, as an editor I have considered the feedback well and clearly demonstrated what I did to improve. Lastly, keeping that brand identity by linking it to my Twitter and Facebook pages and retains the magazine images.
  • 9. Feedback - suggested improvements The feedback for suggested improvement that I have received is that I need to source where I have found the information’s from such how much will it cost me to pay for my finance team, editorial team, journalists, reporters, advertising team, production manager and social media executive. Moreover, constructing an above and below the line marketing, for example, television, internet, radio and billboards (Above the Line Marketing) and direct mail marketing, door-to-door marketing, exterior location marketing and email marketing (Below the Line Marketing). Furthermore, avoid reading out from the board too much so make eye contact to whom I am presenting to such as my classmates and teacher. Lastly, rather than saying “I forgot to add it on”, say “I have not develop it yet”.
  • 10. Pitch Itself My pitch itself does now contains the necessary content based on the feedback given. For example, sourcing where I obtained my financials (costs etc.) from and using the correct terminology such as 'Push' and 'Pull' marketing, 'Above the Line' Marketing and 'Below the Line' Marketing; also adding more detail for the promotion maybe above and below the line promotion.
  • 11. Magazine Page Improvements (Front Cover) As you can see I have included my first draft to see the comparison with my final piece. I have adjusted the alignments and making sure that all the cover lines and headlines are all line. Moreover, with the main image I have made the artist brighter to make him stand out. Furthermore, I have stick into the colour scheme such as blue, pink and black.
  • 12. With my double page spread, I have done exactly the same as my front cover slide such as comparing my first draft of my double page spread to my final piece. As you can see from the images that I have changed the colours that I used from my first to my final. The reason why I have changed this is that I want to stick with the colour scheme to portray my understanding into this project and to make it easier for my target audience to adapt to my magazine by sticking to one colour schemes rather than changing it and surprises them. Magazine Page Improvements (Double Page Spread)
  • 13. Magazine Page Improvements Interview & quote relates I have added the text from the interview and picked the most interesting line from the interview and made them bigger and bold to make it interesting. Editing As you can see, I have edited the main image of the front cover. With the ‘key facts’ I have added a photo of the artist, added a title and lastly, his birthday name, the date he was born and his hometown. Moreover, with the text I have stuck with the colour scheme such as pink, blue and white to ‘signify’ (De Saussure) brand identify within the magazine. You can see the contrast between the old brand identity and the new brand identity. The reason why I have changed the brand identity is to make it more noticeable. New Old
  • 14. I have changed the ‘dead space’ underneath the main image from “Facts about Jake Miller” into an advertising for his new release album “Lion Heart”. This ‘signifies’ (De Saussure) that this will attract more audience and be willing to buy his new album which raise the unique selling point of the artist and to the magazine. Moreover, I have added his social media account such as Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. Magazine Page Improvements
  • 15. Survey Monkey The results that I have received from this question helps me the biggest strength of my presentation such as the comparison with my competitors and a very impressive summary of the future issues and what the magazine will cover. Also my social media marketing looked really “impressive”. Lastly, one of the comment says “very nice comparisons with your competitors and a very impressive summary of the future issues and what the magazine will cover”. This connotes that I have ticked all the important features that need to be included within my pitch. Another positive comment that I have found is how “great detail about the connotations behind her masthead, and really took on board the feedback given to the first drafts”. This connotes that I have included the most important feature into my magazine and how I have act upon to the feedback. For the improvements that I could have done for my presentation is to avoid phrases like "I forgot to add it in" and avoid reading information from the board too much. Moreover, more detail on demographics & spending power. This connotes that I have gone too quick with some of the slides that some of them was not able to read and take it in and also going in more detail with some of them such as the promotion of the magazine.
  • 16. Conclusion In conclusion, LO4 is all about being able to pitch ideas on proposed print-based products to an editor, client or focus group for feedback. Within this LO it includes the evidence of me performing the pitch, evidence of my witness statement to illustrate that the editor has seen it and has given me feedback of particular strengths and suggestions of where areas of my pitch that need improvements. Furthermore, I have added a sample of improvements that I have made such as my magazine page improvements which ‘signifies’ (De Saussure) the before and after. The purpose of this is to portray the process of making my magazines and how every detail counts.
