Michal Idziak, Texas A&M University - Kingsville, SR, Mosina, Poland, Fork Union Military Academy
Idziak won the TAMIU Invitational with a time of 16:53 on the 5k course. He helped lead Texas A&M-Kingsville
to their second straight season opening team title.

Steve Orwel, Cameron University, took first place in a 8K meet at CU’s home meet with a time of 28:05 under
clear conditions in Lawton. His time was 23 seconds quicker than the second place finisher and his average mile
was 5:38.

Cameron’s top seven runners finished in order in a duel match with USAO in Lawton last weekend. In an 8K
race, the Aggies averaged 28:27:40 which was nearly four minutes faster than USAO’s per runner average.
Steve Orwel took first place overall with a time of 28:05. The Aggies will turn around and race on Thursday at
Midwestern State.

Texas A&M-Kingsville opened the season at the Texas A&M International Invitational. The men finished first
while the women were second. Michael Idziak won the men’s individual title in 16:54. A trio of freshman led
the women’s team. Josie Guzman was second, Jade Guerrero came in third and Destinee Reyes finished fifth.
