LSC OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD
Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track & Field athletes have recorded seven NCAA Division II Automatic qualify-
ing marks (6 men, 1 women) and 141 provisional efforts (79 men, 62 women).

MENâS TRACK
Chase Rathke, Tarleton State University, SR, Crawford, Texas, Crawford HS
Rathke ran the 1500-meter ELITE at the Mt. SAC Relays in Norwalk, Calif. and broke his own school record with
an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 3:44.15. The senior finished in second place in his heat and eighth overall
out of 21 runners from Division I and II schools. Rathkeâs time is tops in the Lone Star Conference this season
and fourth in the nation.
MENâS FIELD
Lutalo Boyce, Texas A&M University - Kingsville, JR, Westbury, N.Y.
Boyce jumped a national qualifying mark in the menâs long jump at the J. Fred Duckett-Rice Twilight Meet on
April 16. The 25-7.5 (7.81m) leap is a knew season best topping his previous best by .12 at the Texas Relays.
WOMENâS TRACK
Kaina Martinez, Texas A&M University - Kingsville, SR, Seine Bright, Stann Creek, Belize
At the J. Fred Duckett Rice Twilight, Kaina Martinez finished first at in the 400-meter dash with a provisional
time of 54.02 seconds. The time ranks fifth in NCAA Division II.
WOMENâS FIELD
Valerie Vrana, Texas A&M University - Kingsville, SR, Seguin, Texas, Navarro HS
Vrana placed second in the womenâs shot put at the J. Fred Duckett-Rice Twilight. Vrana threw a provisional
mark of 46-1.25 (14.05m).
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Geoffrey Kipchumba, West Texas A&M University, picked up a provisional time in the 3,000 meter
steeplechase at the Bryan Clay Invite running 9:07.26. That is the fourth-fastest time in school history and 11th
fastest in the nation this season. He also competed in the 1,500 meters running a personal-best time of 3:51.97.
Michal Idziak, Texas A&M University - Kingsville, placed first in the menâs 800-meter run with a provisional
time of 1:49.98 seconds at the J. Fred Duckett Rice Twilight.
Rascellis Williams, Tarleton State University, claimed an NCAA provisional mark and also set a personal-best
by clearing 6-9. Williamsâ time currently ranks second in the Lone Star Conference this season.
Nikolina Hrelec, West Texas A&M University, competed in the 800 and 1,500 meters at the Bryan Clay Invite
this past weekend. She ran a personal-best time of 4:51.69 in the 1,500 meters a day after running 2:16.93 in
the 800 meters.
DeAijha Hicks-Boyce, Tarleton State University, contributed to four of NCAA provisional marks, as the
sophomore finished first in the 100 meters (11.82) and first in the 200 meters (24.34). Hicks-Boyceâs 200-meter
time is her fastest of the season and sixth in the LSC. Hicks-Boyce was also the second leg of the womenâs
4x100-meter relay that finished first in a time of 46.55 to set an NCAA provisional mark. Hicks-Boyceâs 4x400-
meter relay team won the event in a time of 3:47.73 for another NCAA mark and the fastest time of the season
for the TexAnns.

Tarleton Track & Field competed at the East Texas Invitational on Saturday and recorded nine NCAA marks
and won nine events at Texas A&M-Commerce. They also had four athletes run in California. Tarleton Track
& Field had its distance runners competing in a pair of meets in California on Saturday. Chase Rathke ran

nation entering tonight. Dylan Willett ran the 1500-meter at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. and
came away with a first-place finish in his heat with an NCAA provisional time of 3:48.92. Willett set a new
personal best for the 1500-meter and his time currently ranks second in the Lone Star Conference behind
Rathke. DeAijha Hicks-Boyce contributed to four of those NCAA marks, as the sophomore finished first in
the 100 meters (11.82) and first in the 200 meters (24.34). Hicks-Boyceâs 200-meter time is her fastest of

the season. The womenâs 4x100-meter relay of Deylinn Garrett, Hicks-Boyce, Hollie Boyd, and Ariel Ballard
finished first in a time of 46.55 to set an NCAA provisional mark. The TexAnnsâ fastest time this season is 46.00.
The 4x400-meter relay (Ashley Johnson, Hicks-Boyce, Arianna Stegall, and Jasmine Owens won the event in a
time of 3:47.73 for another NCAA mark and the fastest time of the season for the TexAnns. In the womenâs
100-meter hurdles, Deylinn Garrett won the event in 14.49 and teammate Molly Money was right behind in
second place in 14.73. On the menâs side, the Texans set three NCAA marks in field events. William Carlton
set a personal-best in the pole vault by clearing 16â .75ââ, ranking second in the Lone Star Conference. In the
high jump, Rascellis Williams also set a personal-best by clearing 6â 9ââ. Williamsâ time currently ranks second
in the Lone Star Conference this season. Chantz Chambers claimed an NCAA mark in the long jump with a
person-best jump of 23â 8.75ââ. In the running events, Gilson Umunnakwe finished second overall in the 400
meters in an NCAA provisional time of 47.86. Itâs Umunnakweâs fastest time of his career. Randall Kadlacek ran
the 400-meter hurdles in an NCAA provisional time of 53.47, his fastest time of the season. The menâs 4x400-
meter relay (Blake Eschbach, Clarencio Guerrero, Cameron Krc, Gilson Umunnakwe) won its event in a time of
3:14.36. Thorne Pettigrew won the 5000-meter by 11 seconds, finishing in 15:28.57. In the 110 meter hurdles,
Dalton Stidham won the event in 14.69 and Randall Kadlacek finished second in 14.97. Tarleton Track & Field
will compete at the Michael Johnson Invitational hosted by Baylor University on April 23.

WT competed at the Bryan Clay Invitational this past weekend and picked up two provisional qualifying times.
Jamie Taylor-Caldwell improved his time in the 1,500 meters running 3:49.26 to move up to 21st in the nation.
That was also the fifth-fastest time in school history and he became just the third Buff to break 3:50. Geoffrey
Kipchumba nearly broke the freshman record in the 3,000 meter steeplechase running 9:07.26. That is the
fourth-fastest time in the school history and No. 11 in the nation. He would later run 3:51.97 in the 1,500
meters.
Nikolina Hrelec was the lone Lady Buff to compete this past weekend as the Red Raider Open was cancelled
due to weather. She ran a personal-best time of 4:51.69 in the 1,500 meters a day after running 2:16.93 in the
800 meters.
