RUNNERS OF THE WEEK
MALE
Quenten Lasseter, Tarleton State University, SO, Robinson, Texas, Robinson HS
Lasseter competed at the Aggie Open Friday hosted by Texas A&M where he finished the 5k in second-place with a time
of 15:24.80. The sophomore from Robinson also won the ASU Blue & Gold classic Tuesday evening competing in the 8k
and ran a career best 25:40.70. Lasseter helped lead the Texans to back-to-back first-place finishes as a team.
CO-FEMALE
Kelsey Warren, Angelo State University, SR, Hico, Texas, Hico
Warren paced the Angelo State XC Classic women's 6K race in a time of 22:19.82 for her first win of the season. She beat
Hardin-Simmons Sydney Tencate by 31 seconds after falling to her in the first meet of the season.
Esmeralda Fuentes, Tarleton State University, SO, Buda, Texas, Hays HS
Fuentes took home first-place at the Aggieland Open hosted by Texas A&M. Fuentes won the 5k with a time of 18:30.90
and helped lead the TexAnns to 62 points, which was good enough for her team to finish second overall.

MALE
Justin Botello, Tarleton State University, FR, Pflugerville, Texas, Hendrickson HS
Botello competed at the Aggie Open hosted by Texas A&M on Friday. Botello placed first at the meet as he finished the
5k in a time of 15:21.40. Botello also competed at the ASU Blue & Gold Classic Tuesday evening and took home a third-
place finish in the 8k with a time of 25:54.35. The freshman from Pflugerville helped lead the Texans to two first-place
finishes this past week.

Laura Alicke, Texas A&M University-Commerce, FR, Bad Lausick, Germany, Sheridan (Wyo.) HS
Alicke was the top freshmen finisher at the Lois Davis Invitational, where she finished second on the team and third
overall. She finished with a time of 19:43 in the 5K. Alicke has finished as the top A&M-Commerce freshman in each of
her races this season. This was the first top-five finish of her collegiate career. The Lions finished second overall as a
team at the meet.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Dorian Carrasco, Western New Mexico, placed 11th at the South Plains Invitational in Levelland, Texas with a time of
27:11.80 to lead the Mustangs in the 8k race. As a team, WNMU placed fifth, beating out both UT Permian Basin and
Cameron, as Carrasco's time was ahead of all the runners from Cameron and all but one from UT Permian Basin.
Jose Ventura IV, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, earned a second-place finish at the University of Incarnate Word
Invitational with a time of 26.48.6. This was the highest finish by a Javelina so far in 2017 and helped the Hogs capture
second place.
Omer Almog, Eastern New Mexico University, paced the team with a first-place finish at the West Texas Buffalo
Stampede. With a time of 26:33.71, he was the meet's only runner in the top six not from host WT.
Evan Luecke, Texas A&M University-Commerce, was the top finisher for the Lions at the Lois Davis Invitational. He
finished eighth overall with a season-best time of 27:06.2 in the 8K. This was Luecke's first top-10 finish of the season
and the third of his career. The Lions finished fourth overall as a team at the meet.
Michael Anzures, Western New Mexico, put together another strong race as he grabbed a time of 27:50.90 to come in
21st at the South Plains Invitational in Levelland, Texas. He was the second Mustang to finish in helping lead WNMU to a
fifth-place finish in the 8k race, beating out LSC schools UT Permian Basin and Cameron.
3. Tate McMillan, Texas A&M University-Commerce, was the top Lion freshmen finisher at the Lois Davis Invitational. He
finished third on the team and 20th overall at the 8K meet. He ran a time of 28:16.3. This is the second top-20 finish of
his freshman season. The Lions finished fourth overall as a team at the meet.
Coley Norcross, Eastern New Mexico University, third-place performance at the West Texas A&M Buffalo Stampede
paced the Greyhounds to a second-place finish. Norcross finished third with a time of 24:02.38, more than .10 ahead of
WT's Aubri Wrye (24:13.49).
Fanny Farfan, Western New Mexico, led the Lady Mustangs with a time of 20:37.10 to place 22nd at the South Plains
Invitational in Levelland, Texas as she also bested all of the runners from UT Permian Basin. WNMU finished fifth as a
team in the 5k race, as WNMU had three runners place in the top-30.
Brandi Stalder, Texas A&M University-Commerce, was once again the top runner for the Lions last week. She finished
second overall at the Lois Davis Invitational with a time of 19:33 in the 5K. It was her second top-2 finish of the season
and the third of her career. The Lions finished second overall as a team at the meet.
Cynthia Tovar, Eastern New Mexico University, registered a ninth-place finish at the West Texas A&M Buffalo
Stampede to help ENMU post a second-place finish. She crossed the finish line at 25:51.56.
Elizabeth Beltran, Western New Mexico, had a strong race at the South Plains Invitational in Levelland, Texas as she
was the third Lady Mustang across with a time of 21:14.60 to place 28th. WNMU as a team finished fifth in the 5k race
beating out fellow LSC member UT Permian Basin.
Gwyneth Garcia, Tarleton State University, competed at the Aggie Open hosted by Texas A&M on Friday. Garcia
finished 24th among division I competition in the 5k, as she ran a time of 20:46.80. Garcia also ran at the ASU Blue &
Gold Classic and finished fifth in the 6k with a time of 25:52.35, which helped lead the TexAnns to first-place team finish
at the meet.

Omer Almog and Coley Norcross registered first and third-place finishes as both the Eastern New Mexico men's and
women's teams finished second at the West Texas A&M Buffalo Stampede. Saturday's meet took place at The Range in
Canyon, Texas. After three top-ten finishes to open the season, Almog took first at the Stampede with a time of
26:33.50. He was followed by five runners from WT, which included runner-up Ryan Thomson at 26:46.71. Garrett
Meyer (27:47.53) and Lorenzo Juarez (28:08.12) came in seventh and ninth to round out the top-ten finishers for the
ENMU men's team. For the women's team, Norcross finished third with a time of 24:02.38, more than .10 ahead of
WT's Aubri Wrye (24:13.49). Mason Swanson placed fifth at 24:25.03, while Abby Kepfer, Cynthia Tovar and Nancy
Rodriguez placed eighth through tenth, respectively. ENMU will return to action on Saturday, October 21, for the Lone
Star Conference Championships at Texas A&M-Kingsville.

In their final tune-up before the LSC Championships, the Lions' men's and women's XC teams raced at the Lois Davis
Invitational last week. The women's team finished second overall while the men's team finished fourth. The women's
4. team had three runners finish in the top 10, including two runners in the top three. The men's team had three runners
finish in the top 20. The Lions will use the next week to rest and prepare for the LSC Championship in Kingsville on Oct.
