Angelo State
Eastern New Mexico
Eastern New Mexico University turned in outstanding
performances over the weekend at the New Mexico
Junior College Ross Black Open, with a number of
qualifying marks for the NCAA Championships. Julian
Coronado paced the men’s team with a second-
place performance in the 100-meter dash, while
Klaudia Szych won the women’s 800-meter run.
With second and fourth-place finishes Coronado

NCAA Championships, had it not been for extremely
windy conditions. Both runners posted season-
best efforts in the 100-meter dash, with times of
10.29 and 10.38, respectively. Coronado only trailed
Western Texas College’s Ian Kerr by .06. The duo also
joined with Justin Rocha and Avery Rasher to win the
4x100-meter relay with a qualifying time of 40.62.
Klaudia Szych won the women’s 800-meter run with

up finishes in the 5,000-meter and 1,500-meter runs.
