LONE STAR CONFERENCE WOMEN’S SOCCER WEEKLY RELEASE
November 1, 2017
LSC WOMEN’S SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP
Angelo State is the top seed for Lone Star Conference Women’s Soccer Championship Tournament after claiming its
third title. The championship will take place November 1-3-5 with the quarterfinals at on-campus sites and the
semifinals and finals in San Angelo, Texas.
ASU will host the semifinals and final as the No. 1 seed for the six-team, single-elimination conference championship
Both ASU and Texas-A&M-Commerce, who is the No. 2 seed, have first-round byes.
West Texas A&M is third, Midwestern State fourth, Eastern New Mexico fifth and Texas Woman’s sixth.
The championship starts on Wednesday, Nov. 1, with WT hosting TWU in Canyon, Texas, and ENMU at MSU in
Wichita Falls, Texas, in quarterfinal action.
The semifinals will be played at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Friday with the 3-6 winner playing A&M-C, and the 4-5 winner
taking on host ASU.
The Friday winners get a day off before playing on Sunday at 1 p.m. for the LSC Tournament crown and automatic
bid into the NCAA Division II championship field.
All five games will be streamed live free of charge through the LSC’s Stretch GameCentral portal
(http://portal.stretchinternet.com/lonestar). In addition to supporting desktop and laptop computers, GameCentral's
responsive design will support mobile devices as well (iPad, iPhones, Android). Additionally the games can be seen
through custom applications on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Android TV.

No. 6 Texas Woman’s at No. 3 West Texas A&M, 7 p.m. (at Canyon, Texas)
No. 5 Eastern New Mexico at No. 4 Midwestern State, 7 p.m. (at Wichita Falls, Texas)
Friday, Nov. 3 (Semifinals at No. 1 seed Angelo State)

LSC WOMEN’S SOCCER
The women’s teams are 53-49-21 overall this season. The squads are currently 7-4-4 combined versus Rocky
Mountain Athletic Conference teams, and 4-3-2 against the Heartland Conference, which are the other conferences in
the NCAA South Central Region.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Khaline Jacob, West Texas A&M University, SO, F, Siparia, Trinidad & Tobego
Jacob had a great week for the Lady Buffs as she scored the game winner in a 3-1 win over then-No. 16 Midwestern
State in the regular season finale and recorded the tying goal against Eastern New Mexico. She had two goals and one
assist for five points, while leading the team with seven shots and three on goal. The scoring this week marked her first
two goals of the year and assist of the year.
DEFENSIVE
Caitlin Duty, Texas A&M University-Commerce, JR, Goalkeeper, Crandall, Texas, Crandall HS
Duty was a brick wall for the Lions last week, saving all seven shots that came her way. She had two saves in the Lions' 2-
0 win over UT Permian Basin. She then had five saves in the Lions' 1-0 shutout win over Angelo State. With the two
shutouts, Duty now has eight such outings this season. Duty leads the LSC in save percentage and goals against this
season and is second in the conference in shutouts.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Maddi Nolton, Texas Woman's University, scored her first career hat trick in a 7-2 win at UT Permian Basin Sunday.
Nolton connected on both of her penalty kicks and registered the game-winning goal. The sophomore compiled a .750
SOG%, and her three goals were the most by a single Pioneer since the 2014 season.
Ariel Lopez, Eastern New Mexico University, poured in two goals and an assist in a key road trip, which helped the
Greyhounds clinch fifth place in the Lone Star Conference. On Wednesday, she assisted the game-tying goal, as ENMU
managed to tie West Texas A&M for the second time this season. Against 16th-ranked Midwestern State, Lopez tallied
the game-tying and winning goals, as the Hounds rallied from a halftime deficit.
Sophie Haywood, Texas A&M University-Commerce, continued to be a force on the offensive end for the Lions last
week. She had a goal in the 68th minute in the Lions' 2-0 win against UT Permian Basin. She then had the game-winning
goal in the 26th minute of the Lions' 1-0 win over Angelo State, giving her 10 goals scored this year. Six of her eight shots
were on goal. She is second in the conference in both points and goals scored and is tied for the conference lead in
game-winning goals with five.
Avery McNeme, Angelo State University, played a big role in the Belle attack off the bench over the weekend,
assisting the only goal ASU scored in one win and one loss as well as creating several chances for herself. McNeme's
assist against Texas Woman's was her fourth of the season, tying her for the team lead. She had three total shots on the
weekend, two of which were on goal.
Syneca Pyszko, West Texas A&M University, made her first collegiate start and played all 90 minutes in a 3-1 win at
No. 16 Midwestern State to end the regular season. She tallied five saves (.833), while facing 15 shots as the Lady Buffs
earned the win and No. 3-seed in the upcoming LSC Tournament. Pyszko had played in just two games this season.
Sammy Cude, Angelo State University, earned her sixth shutout of the season and allowed just one goal in her 180
minutes in goal over the weekend. The sophomore made 11 saves total, and the only goal she allowed came on a
penalty kick against Texas A&M-Commerce. She now has 81 saves on the season and a save percentage of .827.
Alejandra Camarillo, Eastern New Mexico University, made 10 saves last week for an .833 save percentage. Her
performance allowed Eastern to defeat #16 Midwestern State and tie West Texas A&M to clinch fifth place in the LSC.

Angelo State
ASU went 1-1-0 on the weekend, winning the Lone Star Conference Championship outright on Friday. It is the third LSC
title in program history for ASU and their second to clinch outright.
Eastern New Mexico
The Eastern New Mexico women's soccer team had a strong road trip and clinched fifth place in the conference. On
Wednesday, Kenya Brooke's goal with 2:26 left in regulation allowed the Hounds to earn a tie at West Texas A&M. On
Friday, Ariel Lopez tallied two goals to lead ENMU past 16th-ranked Midwestern State. Friday's win marked Eastern's
first series win over the Mustangs. The Greyhounds will open the conference tournament on Wednesday with a rematch
at Midwestern State.
Midwestern State
Midwestern State qualified for its 22nd consecutive Lone Star Conference Postseason Tournament finishing the regular
season with an 11-6-1 overall record... The Mustangs head into tournament play as the No. 4 seed after compiling a 6-5-
1 record in league play... The Mustangs take on Eastern New Mexico in the LSC quarterfinal round Wednesday night at
Stang Park. Kickoff at 7 p.m... Midwestern State claimed postseason titles in 1996, 1998, 2011, 2013 and 2016...
Sophomore Hanna Mattinson tallied her third goal of the season off of Kelly Cannistra's corner kick Friday night against
Eastern New Mexico... The assist was Cannistra's fifth of the season -- second on the team... Senior Destinee Williamson
tallied her seventh goal of the season in the regular season finale against West Texas A&M off of Sarah Stewart's fourth
assist of the campaign... Williamson leads the Mustangs offense and ranks third in the league with 22 points (7 goals, 8
assists), appearing 19th nationally in total assists... Senior goalkeeper Courtney Burnette paces the LSC in shutout
percentage (.500) and is third in save percentage (.824), while coming in 30th in the nation with 103 total saves and 75th
in save percentage...
Texas A&M-Commerce
The Lions went 2-0-0 last weekend, posting a 2-0 win over UT Permian Basin on Friday and a 1-0 win over Angelo State
on Sunday. Both matches were on the road. The Lions secured the second seed in the LSC Tournament and will face the
winner of the 3-6 matchup on Friday. The Lions are second in the LSC in scoring average, first in scoring defense, first in
save percentage, first in shots and first in corner kicks.
Texas Woman’s
TWU hung tight with No. 9 Angelo State in a 1-0 loss Friday before defeating UT Permian Basin, 7-2, Sunday. The seven
team goals against the Falcons were the most since the Pioneers scored six at Northwestern Oklahoma State during the
2012 season

West Texas A&M
The Lady Buffs finished the regular season with a 7-6-5 record and earned the No. 3-seed in the upcoming LSC
Tournament as they will host No. 6-seed Texas Woman's Wednesday night at The Pitch...WT tied Eastern New Mexico 1-
1 on Wednesday and then went to No. 16 Midwestern State, earning a hard-fought 3-1 win as freshman goalkeeper
Syneca Pyszko made her first collegiate start, recording five saves in 15 shots, allowing one goal for her first
win...Sophomore Khaline Jacob scored her first two goals of the season and added an assist, along with the game winner
against MSU...WT looks to make its first NCAA Tournament since 2012 and will most likely need to win the LSC
Tournament to advance to the NCAA postseason.

The championship will take place November 1-3-5 with the quarterfinals at on-campus sites and the semifinals and finals in San Angelo, Texas. ASU will host the semifinals and final as the No. 1 seed for the six-team, single-elimination conference championship Both ASU and Texas-A&M-Commerce, who is the No. 2 seed, have first-round byes. West Texas A&M is third, Midwestern State fourth, Eastern New Mexico fifth and Texas Woman’s sixth. The championship starts on Wednesday, Nov. 1, with WT hosting TWU in Canyon, Texas, and ENMU at MSU in Wichita Falls, Texas, in quarterfinal action. The semifinals will be played at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Friday with the 3-6 winner playing A&M-C, and the 4-5 winner taking on host ASU. The Friday winners get a day off before playing on Sunday at 1 p.m. for the LSC Tournament crown and automatic bid into the NCAA Division II championship field. All five games will be streamed live free of charge through the LSC’s Stretch GameCentral portal (http://portal.stretchinternet.com/lonestar). In addition to supporting desktop and laptop computers, GameCentral's responsive design will support mobile devices as well (iPad, iPhones, Android).   • 2. LSC WOMEN’S SOCCER The women’s teams are 53-49-21 overall this season. The squads are currently 7-4-4 combined versus Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams, and 4-3-2 against the Heartland Conference, which are the other conferences in the NCAA South Central Region. LSC schedule and results available here: http://www.lonestarconference.org/calendar.aspx?path=wsoc& PLAYERS OF THE WEEK OFFENSIVE Khaline Jacob, West Texas A&M University, SO, F, Siparia, Trinidad & Tobego Jacob had a great week for the Lady Buffs as she scored the game winner in a 3-1 win over then-No. 16 Midwestern State in the regular season finale and recorded the tying goal against Eastern New Mexico. She had two goals and one assist for five points, while leading the team with seven shots and three on goal. The scoring this week marked her first two goals of the year and assist of the year. DEFENSIVE Caitlin Duty, Texas A&M University-Commerce, JR, Goalkeeper, Crandall, Texas, Crandall HS Duty was a brick wall for the Lions last week, saving all seven shots that came her way. She had two saves in the Lions' 2- 0 win over UT Permian Basin. She then had five saves in the Lions' 1-0 shutout win over Angelo State. With the two shutouts, Duty now has eight such outings this season. Duty leads the LSC in save percentage and goals against this season and is second in the conference in shutouts.   • 3. Maddi Nolton, Texas Woman's University, scored her first career hat trick in a 7-2 win at UT Permian Basin Sunday. Nolton connected on both of her penalty kicks and registered the game-winning goal. The sophomore compiled a .750 SOG%, and her three goals were the most by a single Pioneer since the 2014 season. Ariel Lopez, Eastern New Mexico University, poured in two goals and an assist in a key road trip, which helped the Greyhounds clinch fifth place in the Lone Star Conference. On Wednesday, she assisted the game-tying goal, as ENMU managed to tie West Texas A&M for the second time this season. Against 16th-ranked Midwestern State, Lopez tallied the game-tying and winning goals, as the Hounds rallied from a halftime deficit. Sophie Haywood, Texas A&M University-Commerce, continued to be a force on the offensive end for the Lions last week. She had a goal in the 68th minute in the Lions' 2-0 win against UT Permian Basin. She then had the game-winning goal in the 26th minute of the Lions' 1-0 win over Angelo State, giving her 10 goals scored this year. Six of her eight shots were on goal. She is second in the conference in both points and goals scored and is tied for the conference lead in game-winning goals with five. Avery McNeme, Angelo State University, played a big role in the Belle attack off the bench over the weekend, assisting the only goal ASU scored in one win and one loss as well as creating several chances for herself. McNeme's assist against Texas Woman's was her fourth of the season, tying her for the team lead. She had three total shots on the weekend, two of which were on goal. Syneca Pyszko, West Texas A&M University, made her first collegiate start and played all 90 minutes in a 3-1 win at No. 16 Midwestern State to end the regular season. She tallied five saves (.833), while facing 15 shots as the Lady Buffs earned the win and No. 3-seed in the upcoming LSC Tournament. Pyszko had played in just two games this season. Sammy Cude, Angelo State University, earned her sixth shutout of the season and allowed just one goal in her 180 minutes in goal over the weekend. The sophomore made 11 saves total, and the only goal she allowed came on a penalty kick against Texas A&M-Commerce. She now has 81 saves on the season and a save percentage of .827. Alejandra Camarillo, Eastern New Mexico University, made 10 saves last week for an .833 save percentage. Her performance allowed Eastern to defeat #16 Midwestern State and tie West Texas A&M to clinch fifth place in the LSC. LSC NOTES (Submitted by LSC SID’s) Angelo State ASU went 1-1-0 on the weekend, winning the Lone Star Conference Championship outright on Friday. It is the third LSC title in program history for ASU and their second to clinch outright. Eastern New Mexico The Eastern New Mexico women's soccer team had a strong road trip and clinched fifth place in the conference. On Wednesday, Kenya Brooke's goal with 2:26 left in regulation allowed the Hounds to earn a tie at West Texas A&M. On Friday, Ariel Lopez tallied two goals to lead ENMU past 16th-ranked Midwestern State. Friday's win marked Eastern's first series win over the Mustangs. The Greyhounds will open the conference tournament on Wednesday with a rematch at Midwestern State. Midwestern State Midwestern State qualified for its 22nd consecutive Lone Star Conference Postseason Tournament finishing the regular season with an 11-6-1 overall record... The Mustangs head into tournament play as the No. 4 seed after compiling a 6-5- 1 record in league play... The Mustangs take on Eastern New Mexico in the LSC quarterfinal round Wednesday night at Stang Park. Kickoff at 7 p.m... Midwestern State claimed postseason titles in 1996, 1998, 2011, 2013 and 2016... Sophomore Hanna Mattinson tallied her third goal of the season off of Kelly Cannistra's corner kick Friday night against Eastern New Mexico... The assist was Cannistra's fifth of the season -- second on the team... Texas A&M-Commerce The Lions went 2-0-0 last weekend, posting a 2-0 win over UT Permian Basin on Friday and a 1-0 win over Angelo State on Sunday. Both matches were on the road. The Lions secured the second seed in the LSC Tournament and will face the winner of the 3-6 matchup on Friday. The Lions are second in the LSC in scoring average, first in scoring defense, first in save percentage, first in shots and first in corner kicks. Texas Woman’s TWU hung tight with No. 9 Angelo State in a 1-0 loss Friday before defeating UT Permian Basin, 7-2, Sunday. The seven team goals against the Falcons were the most since the Pioneers scored six at Northwestern Oklahoma State during the 2012 season UT Permian Basin 0-2 last week. West Texas A&M The Lady Buffs finished the regular season with a 7-6-5 record and earned the No. 3-seed in the upcoming LSC Tournament as they will host No. 6-seed Texas Woman's Wednesday night at The Pitch...WT tied Eastern New Mexico 1- 1 on Wednesday and then went to No. 16 Midwestern State, earning a hard-fought 3-1 win as freshman goalkeeper Syneca Pyszko made her first collegiate start, recording five saves in 15 shots, allowing one goal for her first win...Sophomore Khaline Jacob scored her first two goals of the season and added an assist, along with the game winner against MSU...WT looks to make its first NCAA Tournament since 2012 and will most likely need to win the LSC Tournament to advance to the NCAA postseason. # LSC #
