LSC SOCCER
The Lone Star Conference Champion and tournament host will be decided during the final week of the season.
Angelo State has a one-point advantage on Eastern New Mexico and Texas A&M-Commerce. LSC play wraps
up with five contests this week.
Each of the six LSC teams will play the other twice during the regular season, with the results of those
contests to be used in determining the seeds for a four-team postseason conference tournament. The No. 1
seed will host this year’s tournament November 7-9, 2014.
The women’s teams are 54-34-7 overall this season. The squads are currently 7-7-3 combined versus
Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams, and 13-3 against the Heartland Conference, which are the other
conferences in the NCAA South Central Region.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Sierra Anderson, Angelo State University, JR, Forward, Wichita Falls, Texas, Wichita Falls HS
Anderson recorded a three-goal weekend to help lead the No. 25-ranked Rambelles to a pair of LSC wins over
ENMU and WT last weekend at the ASU Soccer Complex. Anderson started the weekend with an 18th goal
against the Zias on Friday before scoring two goals on Sunday against the Lady Buffs. The two-goal game against
WT was the third two-goal game of her career and it took her career goal total to 19. Anderson leads ASU with
10 goals this season, including scoring six goals through nine conference games this season. Anderson finished
last weekend with 13 shots, including putting pressure on the opposition’s goalkeeper with seven shots on goal.
DEFENSIVE
Ashley Exford, Angelo State University, SO, Fort Worth, Texas, Keller Fossil Ridge HS
Exford’s defensive dominance continued last weekend as the sophomore helped ASU to its 10th shutout of
the season in a 3-0 win over WT after holding ENMU to one goal in a 2-1 win last Friday. Exford also scored a
goal against the Zias on a penalty kick and has now scored two goals this season and three in her career. Asked
to shutdown the opposition’s top offensive threat throughout the season, Exford has been vital to the team’s
success which has seen the Rambelles outscore their opponents 40-10 this season. Exford has started all 16
games this season and has helped ASU own a 131-56 shots on goal advantage.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Jade Bell, Texas A&M University - Commerce, began the week with an important conference game against
the Texas Woman’s Pioneers. She scored the only goal of the game, a game-winning header in the second half,
which at the time propelled the Lions to sole possession of first place in the conference. After that, the Lions
traveled to Bethany, Oklahoma for their final non-conference game of the regular season against Southern
Nazarene University. Bell assisted on Cadie Annett’s game-winning goal only four minutes into the contest, her
seventh assist of the season which currently leads all active LSC players. She would go on to score yet another
goal in the game en route to a Lions 4-0 victory. With nine shots on the week, six of which made it on frame,
the Bell was a huge component to the Lions offense.
Jessie Thomas, West Texas A&M University, grabbed a team-high four shots last weekend in two road games
at Midwestern State and Angelo State. She scored the lone goal for WT in a 2-1 loss to the Mustangs on Friday,
which places her second on the team in the category with four on the season.
Carolyn Armijo, Eastern New Mexico University, tallied her first goal of the season and the first game-winning
goal of her career, to lift the Zias to a 1-0 win at Midwestern State. The goal came with 13:01 left in regulation
and gave the Zias their second road win in the series. It also moved Eastern into a tie for second place in the
conference standings, with two games remaining.
Fabienne Wilson , Eastern New Mexico University, posted an .8546 save percentage on the road against Lone
Star Conference powerhouses Angelo State and Midwestern State. Her performance allowed Eastern to stay
within a goal of the Rambelles, despite being shorthanded for nearly the entire second half. Wilson made seven
saves at MSU to post her fourth shutout of the season, in a game where the Mustangs outshot the Zias by a
14-8 margin and held a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.
LSC NOTES (Submitted by LSC SID’s)

ENMU and then a 3-0 victory over West Texas A&M on Sunday. ASU finished the season with a 9-0-1 record
at home and owned a 30-3 goal-scoring advantage at the ASU Soccer Complex. The Rambelles also returned
to the national rankings at No. 25 this week after the pair of wins after not being ranked last week following a
three-game losing streak. ASU has outscored its opponents 40-10 this season and established a new program
record by recording its 10th shutout of the season on Sunday. The Rambelles received three goals from Sierra
