They are competing for seeding in the six-team LSC Championship hosted by the No. 1 seed from November 3-6. 2) Nicole Coetzer from Midwestern State University was named Offensive Player of the Week after scoring five points, including two goals, in two wins. Khadisha Debesette from West Texas A&M University was named Defensive Player of the Week after playing all but 10 minutes at center back in two wins, including scoring the game-winning goal in overtime.

Texas A&M-Commerce and West Texas A&M are ed atop the Lone Star Conference standings with 24 points
each heading into the final week of regular season ac on. Teams are compe ng for seeding in the six-team LSC
Championship which will be hosted by the No. 1 seed November 3-4-6.
The teams are 53-48-6 overall this season. The squads are currently 8-8-4 combined versus Rocky Mountain
Athle c Conference teams, and 4-2-1 against the Heartland Conference, which are the other conferences in the
NCAA South Central Region.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Nicole Coetzer, Midwestern State University, SR, Forward, Trophy Club, Texas, Nelson HS
Coetzer led Midwestern State with a team-high five points in wins over UT Permian Basin and Angelo State last
weekend at home. The Trophy Club, Texas, na ve recorded a career-best three points against UTPB, ne ng the
second goal in a 2-0 win over the Falcons in the 79th minute while assis ng on Adrianna Smith’s game winner
in the 73rd minute. Coetzer helped the Mustangs move into third place in the LSC standings in a 2-0 win over
Angelo State on Senior Day, finding the back of the net in her lone shot a empt in the 73rd minute to put the
Mustangs ahead 2-0. On the season, Coetzer es for the team lead with five goals while ranking sixth in the LSC.
DEFENSIVE
Khadisha Debese e, West Texas A&M University, SO, Defender, Rousillac, Trinidad & Tobago, Vessigny Sec.
Debese e played all but 10 minutes at center back as the Lady Buffs extended their winning streak this past
weekend. The sophomore had one if not her best match of the year in the Lady Buffs 2-1 over me victory
over Texas A&M-Commerce on Friday night. She helped hold the Lions high-powered offense to one goal
before heading home the game-winner in the 94th minute. She put in another solid performance against Texas
Woman’s where she was part of a backline that held the Pioneers to three shots.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Demi Tsambasis, Angelo State University, helped team in its best game of the year against Texas Permian
Basin, scoring a season high four goals against the Falcons, two of which came from Demi Tsambasis. The two
from Tsambasis came in the first five minutes of the game and pushed her to her a team-leading 12 on the
season, which is double the amount she scored last season. Tsambasis also got an assist on one of Loni Byers’
goals in the match, moving her into a e for second on the team with three total. Overall, the California na ve
has averaged 1.69 points a game for a total of 27.
Savannah Grasser, Texas A&M University - Commerce, scored twice this weekend, helping the Lions remain
in first place in the LSC standings. Both goals came in the 3-0 win at ENMU. She now has 11 goals to place
second in the conference in both goals and points.
Cara Zwilling, Texas Woman’s University, scored her second game-winning goal for Texas Woman’s University
in as many games Friday night in a 1-0 win over Eastern New Mexico at Greyhound Stadium. Gaby Larson found
Zwilling following a corner kick in the 36th minute for the first and only score of the game.
Karyn Forbes, West Texas A&M University, scored her first goal of the seasons in the Lady Buffs 2-1 victory
over #21 Texas A&M-Commerce. The senior midfielder put her free kick from 30 yards out in the upper 90 on
the opposite post just outside the reach of TAMUC’s Caitlin Duty to give the Lady Buffs a 1-0 lead in the 87th
minute.
Adrianna Smith, Midwestern State University, helped Midwestern State earn a pair of shutouts while ne ng
a game winner in wins over UT Permian Basin and Angelo State last weekend at MSU Soccer Field. The Mesquite
na ve tallied the game-winning goal against UTPB for the second me this season in the 73rd minute while
the Mustangs defense held the Falcons to no shots on goal. Smith and MSU collected a second shutout on the
weekend against Angelo State, limi ng the Rambelles to five shots on goal to earn the season sweep.
Samantha Jimenez, Texas Woman’s University, notched her seventh shutout of the season in a 1-0 win at
Eastern New Mexico Friday. The sophomore collected six saves throughout TWU’s two games on the week.
Shay Williams, Angelo State University, has been an integral part of the ASU defense that gave up only three
goals in two matchups with tough LSC opponents last week. The back line of ASU limited both opponents to
less than ten shots and didn’t allow more than five shots on goal in either game as well. Williams also had an
assist on one of ASU’s four goals against UTPB on Wednesday, pushing her team-leading total to four. “

The Lions are now ed at the top of the LSC standings a er a split last week. A&M-Commerce lost a 2-1
over me match at West Texas A&M on Friday before rebounding with a 3-0 win at Eastern New Mexico.
Michelle Kotlik scored the game-tying goal in the 89th minute at WT before the Lions ul mately fell. At ENMU,
Kotlik had assists on two goals, with Savannah Grasser pu ng away two goals and Vicky Back scoring another.
The Lions close the regular season at home this weekend with UT Permian Basin on Friday night and Angelo
State on Sunday a ernoon.
