LSC WOMEN’S SOCCER
Lone Star Conference play starts this week with one game Wednesday, and three on Friday and Sunday.
Texas A&M-Commerce remains unbeaten at 3-0-2, while Midwestern State, and Angelo State have just one loss.
The women’s teams are 17-12-7 overall this season. The squads are currently 7-4-4 combined versus Rocky
Mountain Athletic Conference teams, and 2-3-2 against the Heartland Conference, which are the other conferences in
the NCAA South Central Region.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
CO-OFFENSIVE
Avery Lewis, Midwestern State University, SO, Forward, Los Lunas, N.M., Hope Christian HS
Lewis posted the first multiple-goal performance of her career Friday with a pair of scores including the go-ahead strike
with 19 seconds to play to lead Midwestern State to a comeback win over previously unbeaten Oklahoma Baptist. Facing
a 2-0 halftime deficit, Lewis scored the first goal for the Mustangs in the 56th minute on a breakaway, getting past the
OBU defender and goalkeeper with some fancy footwork for a strike from 10 yards out. With 19 seconds remaining, the
Los Lunas, New Mexico native propelled the Mustangs in front with rocket that bent and sailed into the top right corner
of the net from 20 yards out to complete the MSU rally.
Trenadey Scott, Angelo State University, SO, Forward, Fort Worth, Texas, Everman
Scott had her second two-goal performance of the season Sunday afternoon as the Belles topped SWOSU 4-2 in their
home opener. The sophomore led the team in shots with six and had half of them on frame. Scott opened the ASU
scoring by collecting a through ball in the 20th minute and firing it past the SWOSU goalkeeper. She then gave the Belles
the lead in the second half by redirecting a cross into the net. Her two goals pushed her point total on the season to 10,
which leads the LSC.
DEFENSIVE
Callie Smith, Angelo State University, SR, Defender, Round Rock, Texas, Stony Point
Smith once again led the ASU defense to a win at the center back position Smith played the full 90 minutes for her
second straight game and helped limit the Bulldogs to just two goals in ASU's 4-2 win. SWOSO got of just five shots in the
second half of the game and only 15 overall, including only six on goal.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Chelsea Martin, Texas Woman's University, scored a pair of goals, including the game winner, against Southern
Nazarene in the opening 26 minutes to lead the Pioneers to a 4-0 victory Friday. The senior followed up that
performance Monday with a goal in the third minute against Oklahoma Baptist and dished out an assist three-and-a-half
minutes later to give TWU an early 2-0 lead against the Lady Bison."
Ariel Lopez, Eastern New Mexico University, led the Greyhounds last week with five points in games at East Central
and Southern Nazarene. She scored in both contests and had an assist on the game-winning goal against SNU. Her
performance helped the Hounds snap a 15-game winless streak.
Sophie Haywood, Texas A&M University-Commerce, scored the goal in the Lions' 1-1 tie against Harding last week.
She had six shots on goal and 11 total shots in the game. She scored the goal on a penalty kick.
Caitlin Duty, Texas A&M University-Commerce, made three crucial saves in the first overtime of the Lions' 1-1 tie
with Harding. She made four saves on the night.

Angelo State
The Belles won their only game of the weekend 4-2 over Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Trenadey Scott led
the team in the win, notching her second two-goal performance of the season. Cassie Moosburger got her second goal
of the season, as did Elizabeth Rodriguez.
Eastern New Mexico
With less than five minutes to play, Shelby Bell netted the game-winning goal against Southern Nazarene with an assist
from Ariel Lopez. The win snapped a 15-game winless streak for the Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer
team. It also marked the first time the Greyhounds scored at least three goals in a game. The game also marked the first
time ENMU scored at least three goals in a road game since a 7-1 outing at Southwest on September 7, 2010. This week,
ENMU will host Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Woman's to open Lone Star Conference play.
Midwestern State
Midwestern State rallied for a 3-2 comeback victory over previously unbeaten Oklahoma Baptist in its lone game of the
week Friday to move to 4-1 on the season. Facing a 2-0 halftime deficit, sophomore Avery Lewis scored two goals
including the game winner with 19 seconds to play while freshman Kelly Cannistra provided the equalizer to push MSU
to its third-straight win. The Mustangs continue their home stand Friday as they open Lone Star Conference play against
Angelo State. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. at Stang Park.
3. Texas A&M-Commerce
The Lions played to a 1-1 tie against Harding on the road in their only game last week. The Lions are ranked No. 11 in the
United Soccer Coaches' Poll, which was released on Tuesday. They will open up their conference schedule with road
matches against Eastern New Mexico on Friday and West Texas A&M on Sunday.
Texas Woman’s
The Pioneers defeated Southern Nazarene 4-0 on Thursday before falling in the final minute to Oklahoma Baptist, 4-1,
on Monday.
UT Permian Basin
Did not play last week.
West Texas A&M
The West Texas A&M women's soccer team was handed its worst loss in program history in a 6-0 defeat at
Southwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday...WT allowed six goals in a game for the first time in program history as the
program had allowed just five goals twice before...One player for SWOSU scored four goals in the game marking the
most allowed goals by one opponent player in program history...It marked the first win by SWOSU in program history
against WT as the Lady Buffs were 16-0-1 against SWOSU...SWOSU scored just 2:36 into the game marking the quickest
goal allowed by WT this season...The Lady Buffs have eight days to prepare for Lone Star Conference play as Texas
Woman's and Texas A&M-Commerce visit next week...The Lady Buffs are 2-2-1 on the year.
