2. For the first stage of my magazine production I decided
to go with a black background have done this because
black has connotations with Power, strength and
elegance which are things which are popular within the
hip hop industry. Whilst in the process of of creating my
magazine I also looked at other hip hop magazines and
looked at some of the colours which were used in the
background of the magazines
3. I then used the text tool too create the title of my magazine to the
magazine I made the colour of the title to yellow the reason I done
this is because bright yellow stands out from black. Yellow also has
connotations with happiness and energy which is something that
hip hop artists try to portray through their music. I also used a font
which stands out from other fonts. I looked at other hip hop
magazines and checked the font styles used in their magazines for
inspiration I am also going to use the same colour scheme
throughout my magazine
4. I then went on to add my dominant image by dragging and dropping
the image from my desktop onto Photoshop I then placed the image to
the middle of the magazine I then made sure that the image was below
the masthead and not overlapping it. I then used the Photoshop effects
to create a yellow outer glow around the outside of the image which
stays with the yellow and black colour scheme. i also removed the
background of the image by using the eraser which let me erase the
surrounding background which was not needed
5. I then went on to add other information by using the text tool
and the colour picker to change the colours to yellow about the
artist and the ”new album dropping with wiz khalifa” this is one
of the main reasons why I chose the black and yellow colour
scheme due to the fact that one of Wiz Khalifa’s biggest songs
was called black and yellow I ten also used the text tool again to
add information about rapper Juice WRLD who had recently
passed away and then changed the colours of the text to follow
the colour scheme. I then went on to add text under the title of
the masthead which I used a font which looked smart
6. I then went on to use the text tool again in which I added the name of
the artists upcoming album “Gangsta Love” I also changed the color of
the text to yellow which stays with the magazines color scheme I also
used a font which I had downloaded from google which makes the
magazine look more proffesional and also more smarti then also added a
price tag in the bottom right of my magazine which I used the shape tool
by using a circle with a overlap around the outside of it I then used the
text tool again to add the price of the magazine inside of the circle
7. The last few things that I had done was use the text tool to add a
small paragraph talking about the artists upcoming album I again
used the colour changer to change it to yellow and also used a
rectangle to overlap the text. I then filled the rectangle with a dark
yellow. I then added a question just under the masthead which I
changed the colour to yellow. The final thing which I had done was
add a barcode to the top right of my magazine which I had dragged
from my desktop and pasted it onto my photoshop document
9. The first thing which I had done was copy and
paste the pictures from my desktop to
Photoshop and put it on the page I chose this
picture because it shows both the artist and
also the music producer and also because it is
a well setup shot which has them both
looking towards the camera. i then used the
text tool and put both of the names of each
person over their picture I also used the glow
tool and added a slight red glow behind the
names the next thing which I did was change
the colour of the text to a light blue.
10. The next things which I had done was add
the image of the artist with his middle
finger pointing towards the camera I had
then used the blur tool to make the middle
finger less obvious but due to the nature of
the magazine it stereotypically wouldn't’t
be fully censored out due to the audience
usually being more older I had then added a
black border around the outside of the
picture to give a bit more of an effect. As
well as this I used the text tool to write
about an upcoming album I also had a black
dotted shadow type effect to make the red
writing stand out more. The next thing
which I had done was add the text “Gangsta
love coming soon” which is the name of the
album for this I changed the colour of the
text to red and used the glow effect to
create a dark green glow around the text.
11. The next things which I had done was
added a picture of the music producer
again with his middle fingers pointed
towards the camera which I have also used
the blur tool on it to make it less obvious
to the audience however it wouldn't’t be
fully censored due to the nature and
target audience of the magazine again I
also added a black border around the
image for some extra effect. I used the
text tool and added a slight bit information
about the producer which I had added
another black glow effect to the back of
the writing. The next thing which I did was
add a white background to a box which I
the used the text box tool to white a
article about ”The Genie” I then done this
again to write a slight paragraph about the
producer “PottsBeatz”
12. The final thing which I did was add an
image of the rapper Juice WRLD which I
added a white background around the
outside of the image which I added for
extra effect I then used the text tool to
draw a text box near the image of the
rapper which went on to talk about the
death of the much loved music artist
