Activity 1: myenglishclassroom
Procedures
I am going to greet my students and make a lovely comment about what a pleasure it is
to share classes together.
“Hello everyone!!! how are you today? It is a pleasure to meet you.”
This week we will continue working with jobs and professions.
“Children, now we are going to play a little word game to remember a bit of the
vocabulary learned in the previous class. So please pay attention to the clues and see
who remembers the most. Shall we play?”
The students will have the number of letters that the word has on the blackboard, and
they will listen to the clues. Then, they must guess the profession or occupation. If the
word is complicated, the teacher will add letters.
Tania teaches children at school. She is a ………….
Paul´s job is to keep order and catch criminals. He is a ……………
Ann is a person whose business is to advise people about laws and to
represent them in court. She is a …………
Charlie gets up early to bake bread. He is a …………
Mary works in hospital and treats people. She is a …………
Taylor prepares and cooks tasty food. She is a …………
John helps people in pain and saves lives. He is a ……….
“Excellent children!! Now, we are going to work on some sentences from the previous
game. We are going to see how to form sentences according to the subject and the
profession.”
3. In the previous sentences we learned the difference between the indefinite articles, the
verb to be and different pronouns.
We are going to practice changing the subjects, pay attention to the verb to be,
pronouns and plurals. We will also pass the sentences to negative.
For example: She is a teacher / they are teachers.
She is not (isn´t) a teacher / they are not (aren´t) teachers.
This activity will mainly help them learn to eliminate a and an when it is plural, since in
other activities this has been a confusion for them.
Activity 1:
“Great guys, now that we have reviewed the vocabulary and how to make the
sentences, we are going to carry out an activity in which you must pay attention and use
logic.
This activity consists of two parts: In the first part they must form the words and guess
the codes, then a number or letter will be placed on each one and the drawing that it
represents will be sought, to finish as the second part they must make words like the
ones seen previously.
For example: She is a nurse.
4. Activity 2:
“Very good guys!! they were working a lot, and now we are going to enjoy a little while
listening to a song, in this song we are going to try to find the occupations or jobs
named.”
Students will listen to the song "She's Not Just A Pretty Face"
by Shania Twain, there they must complete the spaces with occupations or jobs, here
observation and listening will be worked on.
