This document contains a lesson plan for teaching elementary students about places in cities, towns, and the countryside. The plan includes learning objectives, vocabulary, and structures focused on describing locations and comparing places. A variety of activities are outlined, including identifying images of different places, playing a game to practice prepositions, matching words to locations, watching a video and completing sentences about city and country mice, and doing an anagram activity with food words from the video. The lesson aims to develop students' skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing about topics related to where people live and activities in various locations.

Procedures
ROUTINE (5 minutes)
I am going to greet my students and make a lovely comment about what a pleasure it is
to share classes together.
3. “Hello everyone!!! how are your week? It is a pleasure to meet you.”
“Today we are going to continue working on the places but this time on places in the
city, town, and countryside, what do you prefer? Why?
WARM- UP (15 minutes)
“Well, now we are going to look in the images and they will tell me what column each
corresponds, why? let's start!!!"
The teacher will draw three columns on the board for the countryside, another for the
city and finally another for the town. Then she will show them images and ask them:
What place is this image?
City Town Countryside
4. PRESENTATION (15 minutes)
“Excellent children!! "Now we are going to understand the difference between the
different spaces and places: town, city and countryside. Pay attention the
characteristics such as people, transport, houses, and spaces. Are you ready?
The students are going to review the prepositions this time through the game we will
practice listening. Through this activity, students will hear the prepositions and will have
to identify them with the images. The game will be played one by one on the computer
and whoever does it the best and THE fastest will be the winner (the game will be like
this because the students do not have individual computers). Genially -

DEVELOPMENT (PRACTICE and PRODUCTION) (40 minutes)
Activity 1:
5. " Well guys now we are going to continue working on the vocabulary. You will have
several words that you will have to separate if they refer to the countryside or the city.
At the end, sentences will be made using there is/there are considering the images”.
The teacher will give them a list of words that they must classify if it refers to the
countryside or the city. Then they will have an image and using the words learned they
will have to make sentences with there is/there are.
For example: There are museums in the city.
A.
COUNTRYSIDE CITY
traffic calmness museums cinemas lakes barn zebra-crossing theatres
concerts swimming pools working outdoors forests restaurants flowers
traffic-lights fields buildings seeds buses fences tractors
B.
Example: There is a cat in the countryside.
There are a lot of cars in the city.
Activity 2:
“Very good guys! Now we continue working, you are doing very well. We are going to
watch at a video, pay close attention to the words, here we will see some mouses that
compare their country life and the life of the city. We will watch the video twice and, in
the meantime, they will complete the sentences that I am going to give you. Let's see
who has better ear?”
The teacher will present a video about mice that show the life of the city and the life of
the countryside. Students at first should take notes on the words or ideas they
understand, then the teacher will give them sentences for when they listen and watch
the video for the second time. “The City Mouse and the Country Mouse”

choose the correct option. To make the task a little more difficult, extra words were
added.

7. “Very good, now we are going to carry out one more activity, we are going to read the
following sentences and indicate if they are true (T) or false (F), then you must correct
the false ones.”
Students must read and interpret the sentences, then they must mark if they are true or
false. Finally, they must correct those that are wrong.
City Mouse visits his friend in the countryside. T / F
Country mouse lives in a tree. T / F
Country mouse lives in a big house. T / F
City mouse´s house has ten rooms. T / F
