1) The document discusses how the author attracted their target audience of 16-22 year olds to their magazine through colorful design elements. These included using bright colors like blue, red, white and black on the cover along with images that appealed to both men and women.
2) Free iTunes vouchers and listings of popular music artists were also used to attract the technologically interested target audience.
3) Inside pages continued the color scheme and included a variety of topics and images to provide information to readers about article contents.
2. Front page
• I had a unique selling point for my magazine which helped me
capture my target audience which was wide range of people of
both men and women around the age of 16-22. My front cover
uses bright colours and a house style of blue, red, white and
black. Using these colours I have a mix of masculine and
feminine colours which would attract both audiences. Although
my image shows a masculine image of a male band I think it
would attract to both men and women as it uses a wide range
of colours which are bright and colourful.
• Another way in which I have tried to attract my target audience
is by including a free iTunes voucher within my magazine, as
when deciding who my target audience would be I decided they
would take a large interest in technology and shown from
audience questionnaire I found that many would most likely by
attracted by free vouchers.
• I have included a banner at the bottom of page which features
famous music artists that my target audience may be interested
in. Moreover featuring what is inside my magazine allows my
target audience to know further information just by looking at
my front cover.
3. Contents Page
• My contents page uses a variety of masculine and
feminine images that would appeal to both male and
female. I have once again used a mix of blue and red
as my colour scheme which would attract my target
audience.
• My contents page also includes a variety of different
topics which would also attract my audience as it
allows my audience to gather more information of
what is inside my magazine and also I have used page
number next to my features and images to it easily
guides my audience to certain pages of my magazine.
I have also featured a subscription box which I think
would appeal to my target audience as It allows them
to know more information of my magazine.
• I also stuck to my colour scheme of blue, red, white
and black. I wanted to choose colours that I thought
would stand out and make my magazine look
attractive and colour and I think my colours I have
used throughout my magazine look attractive and are
bright and colourful which attract my audience and
also address them as I have used feminine and
masculine colours.
4. Double Page Spread
• I mainly tried to attract my target audience to my
double page spread through my catchy headline which
stands out the page. I used a big and bold headline
that instantly catches the readers attention and it
introduces the article. For my main text I have shown
an interview with my main feature of my magazine.
From my target audience research I found that many
audience would most likely prefer and interview
featured in my magazine which allowed me to address
my audience
• I have also stuck to my colour scheme in my double
page spread to create a consistency throughout and I
have chosen different colours for my questions and
answers in my interview which allows a clear structure
for the audience to easily read and provides colourful
and attractive text.
• My main image is of the band ‘Athletes in Paris’ which
goes across my double page spread. My image is bright
and colourful to attract my target audience and their
instruments convey that they are music artists.
