2. • To find out what sort of product my target audience wanted I
created a questionnaire which i handed out to people of my
age group (16 – 20).
• I then gathered all my results and put them into graphs to find
out what people wanted from my music magazine, I then
created my customer profile using all the criteria that i found
from my questionnaire.
• I used Bright bold colours in my magazine to attract a younger
age group and I used up and coming artists in my magazine
with a mix of Reggae fusion music to appeal to a younger
target audience, I decided that i wanted my magazine to
appeal to both girls and boys so for this reason i used a image
of a male on the cover and a female on my double paged
spread and contents page.
3. • I decided to use bold fonts on all my pages to stand out from
other magazine when they are on the shelf being sold
• For my editorial profile I tried to use language that would
typically be used by teenagers such as slang words for
example “Hey Guys” to begin.
• I also discovered from my questionnaire results that most
teenagers like to get some sort of free gifts from magazine
there for I put in special offers to win festival tickets and free
posters in my magazine.
• I think If I were to do this task again i would spend more time
reading the editorial profiles in existing media products to find
out what people like to read in magazine, I also think that i
would try and challenge the forms and conventions of my
magazine more so that they stood out from existing media
products, However overall I am very happy with my finished
product.
