The target audience for the magazine was females aged 16 to 25. To address this audience, the creator conducted a focus group with this demographic to learn what they look for in magazines. This informed the color scheme, masthead style, featured articles, and images used. A female model was featured to appeal to this audience. An interview double page spread was also included as interviews are seen as chatty and personal - appealing to females. The magazine has a mainstream appeal and features popular and upcoming artists to draw readers in and make them want to learn more. Common magazine conventions for a similar audience were researched and used to design the magazine.
