Target Audience
TheTarget Audience for my magazine would be:
- 18-34 year olds
- Male and Female
- Listen/interested in country music
Throughout the production of my construction of my magazine I have conferred with my target audience a
number of times through my focus group.These have given me useful feedback into what my target audience
would want from a music magazine.
The target audience for my magazine included both males a females. In order to attract both genders I
avoided the uses of gender specific colours and so used more neutral colours such as white, black and red.
This house style was commonly used by many of the magazines I researched such as Billboard and
Maverick.
Attracting my target audience
As well as this I also used the reception theory to attract my target audience in order to have my audience
relate to the artists in the magazine.This can help create a loyal fan base through the personal
relationships
Attracting my target audience –
Front Cover
In order to attract my target audience I used a very unusual
and different front cover to many others in the county
music genre.Although many of the conventions are similar
to attract the audience such as BuzzWords like ‘Exclusive’
as well as ‘Puff and Buzz’ in order to persuade them to
purchase the product. On my front cover I used an image
which totally separates the magazine from the others. By
having two models split completely it shows the gender
neutrality of the magazine

Contents Page
In order to further attract my target audience I gave them an addition
platform to follow the magazine. Using Social Media Links it adds a dynamic
in order for the target audience to engage with the magazine in between
issues.
Using clear subtitles for the features and the interviews
gives easy navigation around the page and magazines
which attracts the target audience.
Attracting my target audience –
Double Page Spread
In order to attract my target audience I used a pull quote
which entices them to read the article on the double page
spread and creates hermeneutic questions which also makes
the reader want to read the article
I put the artists name directly above the main text in bold in order
to catch the readers attention
I used a large and bold image to attract the audience’s attention. I
purposely had the artists face away from the camera in order to create
intrigue in the article and therefore entice readers in
