2. Arctic Monkeys

•
•
The Arctic monkeys are quite simple in retrospect
because it has everything laid bare with the black
background. As well, the text is set to white to
really catch the audience’s eyes.
As well, it’s conventional that it has the news right
in the middle of the homepage because for some
of the audience, it might be what they’re looking
for on the website.
Social integration is apparent within the website as
a means of connecting with the audience and for
the audience to communicate with each other.
Nowadays on band websites, they have Facebook,
Twitter and other social networking websites
integrated on their website to show them they have
a means of different ways of reaching them.
Additionally, they have the tabs for news, gigs,
photos and videos as a way to show of the band to
hype them up and give them an identity within the
website itself.
3. Tonight Alive
•
•
•
Through the website, it shows that the band (Tonight
Alive) are a band with a lot to say from the amount of
tabs they have at the top of the website. This shows that
they want the audience to notice everything that’s
unique about them so they can have the overall feel, not
by them looking at one page and thinking if they’re good
or not.
Social integration is a massive input into the website at
the top of the page with links to their Facebook, Twitter,
Instagram and YouTube pages so the audience have more
than one way to see them, to know about them and
receive updates from them. Additionally, toward the
bottom of the page, they have a list of dates about their
upcoming gigs with links to where people can buy tickets.
This really pushes a lot onto someone because it gives
you the music right there and it puts you on the spot to
give you the feel for what the band sounds like.
They have the conventional dark colours within the
website to draw an audience into the page with the
effect of clashing colours so they look at everything in
sight. On the news column they have a variety of various
sources to engage the audience to show off
what they've accomplished at the moment.
4. Paramore
•
•
•
•
Straight away, it’s apparent that Paramore’s website is different
to most bands within the rock genre. This is because of the
clashing colours of the white and black which could suggest the
dark and light aspect of the band’s music to represent that not
all of the songs are representative of emotions such as sadness
and hate. Additionally, the colours do create an effect where the
audience don’t miss anything where it makes them scan the
page to see what's around them.
What’s noticeable is the lack of social integration in the
webpage. This could be because that they’re a band that’s been
publicised a lot with the help of social integration, so they want
to get across differently using social integration strategically on
the website.
As well they have the conventional use of advertising their
merchandise because it could be what someone in the audience
wants; otherwise they’ll have to go into the online store.
They have a clashing colours effect which is conventional to
draw an audience into the page with the effect of clashing
colours so they look at everything on the homepage. They have
separate columns for different social websites, news and
Instagram. It’s a different layout to most websites where they
engage the audience.
