1. Bastille are an indie pop band, similar to Dog is
Dead. I therefore chose to analyse their
website and in greater depth their homepage
to explore website homepages in my chosen
genre.

3. Their website homepage opens with a video for their latest song, ‘Flaws’
and the viewer has the option to either watch the video and enter the
site automatically or skip watching the video and to get straight onto
the site by clicking ‘Enter Website’. This ultimately helps to promote
the bands new song as to get onto the website you are first exposed
to their music video.

5. On the homepage the band is linked to social
media sites such as Tumblr, a chance to
follow them on twitter, and also see their
news on their Facebook page. The use of
social technologies that the band are
connected to demonstrate how bands have
become reliant on these social mediums for
advertising their work.
6. The girls in the image are featured in the music video. The
image is the main focus to the webpage and the bands
title is in the bands font which corresponds with their
other works where this font is shown. Furthermore the
white colour for the title is neutral which is contrasted
with the dark themed image whereby the girls have
face painted face depicting a contrast for their
appearance. Furthermore, these somewhat ‘attractive
girls’ have a twist on them by not appearing typically
pretty of what people would expect to see in a music
video and instead have painted scary faces .
7. The Social networking sites opens directly into a new
tab, making the connections for the viewer easy and
simple. If the process was difficult people want not
follow these links. Instead the links are made easily
accessible in order to further promote the band.

which has logo based clothing,further promoting the band.
Furthermore there are interactive opportunities such as
sharing your postcard to reveal behind the scenes. There is
also the chance to win exclusive Bastille Skelton t-shirts
which would be extremely appealing to fans visiting this
