This document provides a review of papercrete, a sustainable building material made from shredded paper, Portland cement, and soil. It discusses the advantages of papercrete such as its low carbon footprint and use of recycled materials. Various mix proportions of papercrete are possible using different amounts of constituents. The document also examines the properties of papercrete like its strength, durability, density, and water absorption. Papercrete bricks are relatively light and flexible, making them suitable for earthquake-prone areas. While papercrete has benefits for construction, more research is needed and acceptance is still lacking in India.
