This document presents a case study on municipal solid waste management in Hoovinahadagali city, Karnataka, India. The study characterized solid waste collected from 5 stations in the city. Key findings include:
- The average daily weight per household is 2.119Kg and the average generation rate is 0.343 kg/capita/day.
- Plastic constitutes 20.89% of waste composition while wood, cloth, and e-waste make up smaller percentages.
- Recommendations are made to improve waste segregation, composting, and landfill disposal in the city.
