This document summarizes a study evaluating garbage vulnerable points (GVPs) in fringe areas of Vadodara, India. The study aims to identify and analyze the causes of GVPs, assess governmental waste removal efforts, and provide a model for community participation in waste management. The study area is located across two wards in Vadodara with a total population of over 400,000. Primary data collection and analysis of existing GVPs will be conducted to understand waste disposal issues and impacts on drainage and sanitation. Smart city initiatives employing technologies like IoT sensors and GPS tracking in other Indian cities to efficiently manage waste and address GVPs are also discussed.
