Specifically, the friction angle decreased by up to 60% and hydraulic conductivity decreased by nearly 1/3 with the highest level of contamination.
Effect of Sodium Sulphate on the Index Properties and Compaction Behaviour of...IOSR Journals
Abstract: This paper presents the effect of abundantly available fly ash, on the index properties namely liquid
and plastic limit and compaction characteristics of shedi soil. Shedi soil is a problematic soil that lies between
top low level laterite and bottom high level laterites in the western coastal area of Karnataka, India. The effect
of sodium salts on this shedi soil optimized with Neyveli Fly ash has also been studied. Considerable changes in
the index properties and compaction characteristics were observed which are explained based on series of
experimental results. Addition of Neyveli fly ash improved the workability of shedi soil considerably. The
addition of sodium sulphate to the optimum combination of shedi soil-Neyveli fly ash mixture increases the
shear strength of the mixture. The maximum dry density also found increased with the addition of sodium
sulphate.

Effect of saw dust ash and fly ash on stability of expansive soileSAT Journals
Abstract This study is focused on evaluating the effects of saw dust ash and fly ash on properties of laterite soil. These soils tend to have low shear strength and further it may lose shear strength in presence of moisture. This undesirable engineering property of the soil may cause potential natural hazard. These soils are plastic, compressible and expansive in nature which has the tendency to swell in presence of moisture and shrink in dried condition. Fly ash and saw dust ash which are disposed materials from industries are used in the stabilization process to improve the properties of soil. Fly ash is a cementatious material which reduces the swell of the soil when added in proper proportion. Saw dust ash by itself has a little cementatious property in addition with the presence of moisture it influences to the strength and compressibility characteristics of soil. The tests that are carried out on the natural soil sample are specific gravity, consistency limits, CBR, compaction, UCC and differential swell index. Further these tests were carried out on stabilized state of soil by adding 5, 10, and 15 of fly ash and saw dust ash. The results gives the effect of fly ash and saw dust ash on geotechnical properties of laterite soil. Stabilization Analysis of Black Cotton Soil by using Groundnut Shell AshKrunal Thanki
Black Cotton soil is fertile and very good for agriculture, horticulture, sericulture and aquaculture. Though black cotton soils are very good for agricultural purposes, they are not so good for laying durable roads. The study is a potential stabilization of black cotton soils in Gujarat state using Groundnut Shell ash. Index properties of the natural soil showed that, the soil is a poor for engineering use. Liquid limit and Plasticity index values of 83.36 % and 89.32 % respectively for the natural soil suggest that the soil is highly plastic. There was gradual decrease in the free swell to a minimum value of 2.91% at 10% GSA (Groundnut Shell Ash) as compared to the natural value of 15.25%. The soaked CBR for the natural soil is 1.67% which increased to 2.17% at 10% GSA. This value fell short of specification requirement of the CBR value to be used as sub-base or base material. However, there was increase in strength for UCS of 21 days curing period from a value of 134kN/m2 as compared to 313kN/m2 for the unstabilized soil. This research is aimed at evaluating the possibility of utilizing groundnut shell ash (GSA) in the stabilization of black cotton soils.

Effect of fly ash on the rheological and filtration properties of water based...eSAT Journals
Abstract An experimental investigation was carried out to study the effect of fly ash on the rheological and filtration properties of water based drilling fluids with the objective of the development of environmentally acceptable non-damaging and inhibitive drilling fluid system to drill sensitive formations. Initially, different drilling fluids combinations were prepared using carboxy methyl cellulose (low viscosity grade), polyanionic cellulose, xanthan gum, and potassium chloride. The rheological properties as well as filtration properties of these drilling fluids were measured by API recommended methods. These drilling fluids show very good rheological behavior but poor filtration loss characteristics. When fly ash was added in these drilling fluid combinations, a nanoparticles fluid system was established which has better control on filtration properties without affecting the rheological properties and has good potential for the drilling of sensitive formations. Index Terms: Filtrate Loss Properties, Rheological Properties, Wellbore Instability, Inhibitive Drilling Fluid, Nanoparticles, Shale.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.
Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
