The study assessed water quality in the Holalkere area of Karnataka, India by calculating a water quality index (WQI) for 16 water samples. Physicochemical parameters like pH, hardness, fluoride, and others were analyzed for the samples. WQI scores ranged from 21.90 to 63.73, with most samples falling in the "excellent" or "good" categories based on WQI standards. The results indicate that most water parameters were within permissible limits for drinking based on standards, though some samples showed higher levels of total dissolved solids, calcium, hardness, and other constituents. Overall, the water quality in the study area was found to be suitable for most uses.
