CMs, state FMs on November 15
The Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will meet the
Chief Ministers and the Finance Ministers of States on
November 15, 2021. The meeting will be held to discuss the
measures to attract private investments to help boost the
country’s economy.
Finance Secretary T V Somanathan said that the meeting
comes in the backdrop of the strong economic recovery after
the two COVID-19 waves in the country and that the Central
Government has made a big push in Capex.
The meeting with the Finance Minister will also be attended by
the secretaries of the Government of India, Chief Secretaries,
and Financial Secretaries of the state.

4. Google Doodle celebrates Dutch artist
Johannes Vermeer on November 12
Google Doodle on November 12, 2021, celebrated the long-forgotten
Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer who was considered one of the greatest
artists of the Dutch Golden Age.
On this day on November 12, 1995, an eponymous exhibition featuring
21 of Vermeer’s 35 existing works was opened at the National Gallery of
Art in Washington DC. Google has dedicated a Doodle to Vermeer to
mark the 26th anniversary of the opening of the exhibition of his
artwork.
The Google Doodle dedicated to Johannes Vermeer depicts three of
Vermeer’s noteworthy paintings in a way as if they have been arranged
in a gallery.
Starting from the left, the three paintings are ‘The Art of Painting’ (also
known as The Allegory of Painting), ‘Lady Writing a Letter with her
Maid’, and ‘Girl Reading a Letter at an Open Window’.

5. MobiKwik launches RuPay Card in
collaboration with NPCI, Axis Bank

6. PM Modi launches RBI’s Retail Direct Scheme,
Integrated Ombudsmen Schemes
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 12, 2021, launched two innovative,
customer-centric initiatives of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) namely
the RBI Retail Direct Scheme and the Reserve Bank - Integrated Ombudsman
Scheme.
These two schemes will ease access to the government securities market for
retail investors. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and RBI Governor
Shaktikanta Das were present during the virtual launch.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has been leveraging innovation and technology
for enhancing the efficiency of its services.
The developmental role of the RBI is focused on undertaking people-centric
initiatives and further deepening financial inclusion.
Both, the RBI Retail Direct Scheme and the Reserve Bank – Integrated
Ombudsman Scheme launched on November 12 will aid in expanding the
scope of investment in India while making access to capital markets easier and

lead 18-member squad
India hockey squad for Men's Hockey Junior World Cup 2021: Olympic
Bronze Medalist Vivek Sagar Prasad will lead the Indian Junior Men’s
Hockey team for the FIH Hockey Men's Junior World Cup 2021, which is
scheduled to begin in Bhubaneswar, Odisha from November 24, 2021.
Hockey India had announced an 18-member India squad on November
11 to defend India's Junior Hockey World Champion title.
The much-awaited FIH Odisha Hockey Men's Junior World Cup
Bhubaneswar 2021 will see 16 top teams clash against each other.
India will open its campaign in the Junior Hockey World Cup with
their opening match against France on November 24th. India had won

8. SpaceX Mission with crew of four, led by
Indian-origin astronaut, docks with
International Space Station
A new SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule carrying four astronauts which
also included Indian-origin Raja Chari to the International Space Station
(ISS) as part of the company’s Crew-3 mission has docked successfully
at the orbiting lab on November 11, 2021.
The crew of four was led by Raja Chair.
NASA said in a statement that NASA astronauts Tom Marshburn, Chari,
Kayla Barron, and ESA astronaut Matthias Maurer arrived at the
International Space Station at 6.32 PM EST on November 11.
SpaceX Crew Dragon Endurance docked to the orbital complex while
the spacecraft was flying 260 miles above the eastern Caribbean Sea.
NASA’s SpaceX Crew-3 Mission had lifted off at 9:03 pm on a SpaceX
Falcon 9 rocket and Crew Dragon spacecraft from Launch Complex
39A at Kennedy Space Center in Florida for the agency’s third crew
rotation mission.

9. Lunar Eclipse 2021: Longest lunar eclipse of
21st century
The second and last lunar eclipse in 2021 will take place on
November 19, 2021 which will be visible from extreme
northeastern states such as Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
The lunar eclipse on November 19 will be a partial yet the
longest lunar eclipse of the 21st century. The first and total
lunar eclipse of 2021 dubbed as the Super Blood Moon took
place on May 26.
The partial lunar eclipse in India will occur on November 19,
202. The partial phase of the lunar eclipse will last for a total
of 6 hours and 1 minute. It will start at around 11.30 am IST
and end at 5.33 pm IST. As per the Hindu calendar, November
19 will also mark Kartik Purnima.

10. China passes ‘historical resolution’ boosting
President Xi’s authority; What is the resolution?
The ruling Communist Party of China approved a rare resolution on November
11, 2021, which uplifted the country’s President Xi Jinping’s status in its history.
The latest move can be seen as consolidating Xi’s authority and the likelihood of
securing an unprecedented third leadership term in 2022.
As per the State Media, the resolution on the Communist Party of China’s
‘achievements and historical experiences’ since its founding 100 years ago was
passed at the end of a 4-day, closed-door meeting of more than 300 top leaders
on its Central Committee.
The ‘historical resolution’ approved by China has put Xi Jinping on the same
pedestal as Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping.
The two previous leaders had cemented their position as the pre-eminent leader
with the only other two such resolutions passed, in 1945 and 1981 respectively.
President Xi Jinping is seen as China’s most powerful leader since Mao Zedong.

11. PM Modi to dedicate India's first world-class
railway station on November 15
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate India's first world-
class railway station at Habibganj in Bhopal on November 15,
2021.
Habibganj railway station will have all facilities that are
available at international airports. It has been built by a
private company named Bansal Group under a public-private
partnership.
The total cost of building the station is around Rs 450 crore.
Project Director of Habibganj Redevelopment Abu Asif said,
"It has been redeveloped as a model station.
It is a pilot project of Indian Railways."

being held today on November 12
The National Achievement Survey (NAS) is being held today on
November 12, 2021 across India that will assess about 38 lakh
students from 1.23 lakh schools in 733 districts in 36 States and
Union Territories.
The Indian Government has been implementing a nationwide
sample-based National Achievement Survey (NAS) that aims at
assessing learning outcomes of students and schools across
grades 3, 5, 8, and 10 over a cycle period of three years.
The last National Achievement Survey (NAS) was conducted on
November 13, 2017 for assessing the competencies developed by
students in classes 3, 5, and 8.

13. Indian Army revamps Rezang La War
memorial in Ladakh
India will be getting a revamped Rezang La War memorial in Ladakh
on the 59th anniversary of the battle of Rezang La in which the troops
of 13 Kumaon led Major Shaitan Singh defeated many waves of
Chinese troops during the Indo-China 1962 war.
The revamped Rezang La War memorial will be inaugurated by
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on November 18, 2021.
The anniversary of the famous Rezang La battle is celebrated on
November 18.
The Indian Army officials said, “The Rezang La war memorial in
Eastern Ladakh sector was a small one and it has now been expanded.
It will now be much bigger than before and will be out on the tourist
map of the Ladakh Union Territory.”
