2. Elon Musk’s SpaceX establishes subsidiary in
India, plans to apply for license
 SpaceX, owned by the world’s richest person Elon Musk, on
November 1, 2021, established its wholly-owned subsidiary in
India in order to start local broadband operations.
 The satellite broadband arm of SpaceX, Starlink aims to start
the broadband services in India from December 2022, with 2
lakh active terminals subject to permission from the
Government of India.
 Startlink country director India at SpaceX, Sanjay Bhargava
said in a social media post, “Please to share that SpaceX now
has a 100% owned subsidiary in India.
 The name is SSCPL- Starlink Satellite Communications Private
Limited and the incorporation date is November 1, 2021.
Happy Birthday, SSCPL. We can now start applying for
licenses, open bank accounts, etc.”

3. Punjab Lok Congress: Captain Amarinder Singh
announces new party, resigns from Congress
 Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh
resigned from the Indian National Congress Party on
November 2, 2021 in a letter to Congress President
Sonia Gandhi. The veteran political leader announced
the name of his new party after resigning, Punjab Lok
Congress.
 Amarinder Singh reportedly wrote in the letter to the
Congress President, "Sidhu's only claim to fame was that
he would abuse me & my govt...he was patronised by
Rahul&Priyanka, while you chose to turn a blind eye to
shenanigans of this gentleman who was aided &
abetted by Harish Rawat, perhaps most dubious
individual."

4. India likely to be first buyer of Russia’s S-500
anti-aircraft missile system
 Russia is likely to export its cutting-edge S-500 anti-aircraft
missile systems to India and China in the future, said Dmitry
Shugaev, Director, the Russian Federal Service for Military-
Technical Cooperation (FSMTC). Russian Military will soon
receive the first batch of S-500 missiles system, said Russian
President Vladimir Putin on November 1.
 The Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical
Cooperation (FSMTC). Director Dmitry Shugaev said that
Russia is planning to export the S-500 anti-aircraft missile
systems once the armed forces of Russia have enough of
these. The testing of the S-500 missile system has been
completed.

5. Ellenabad, Huzurabad, Badvel, Hangal, Tarapur bypoll
result: Chautala wins from Ellenabad, Cong wins Hangal,
BJP wins Sindgi
 Indian National Lok Dal's Abhay Singh Chautala has won
from Ellenabad assembly constituency in Haryana by a
margin of 6739 votes against BJP's Gobind Kanda.
 In Telangana's Huzurabad constituency, BJP's Eatala Rajender
has solidified his lead with a margin of 12982 votes.
 The BJP and Congress have won one seat each in Karnataka
by-polls with Congress winning Hangal by a margin of 7373
votes and BJP winning Sindgi with a margin of 31,185 votes.
 The Congress has also won all three assembly constituencies
in Himachal Praadesh and Dhariawad Assembly constituency
in Rajasthan, while the BJP has won three seats in Assam.

6. Ayurveda Day 2021: Why is it celebrated on
Dhanwantri Jayanti?
 Every year since 2016, the National Ayurveda Day is observed on the
occasion of Dhanwantri Jayanti, the birth anniversary of the Lord
Dhanwantri which occurs on Dhanteras.
 Lord Dhanwantri is believed to be the God of Ayurveda who bestowed the
knowledge of Ayurveda to mankind.
 This year, the National Ayurveda Day 2021 is being celebrated on
November 2, 2021, to promote the Ayurvedic principles of wellness and
healing.
 On the occasion of 6th Ayurveda Day which is being celebrated on
November 2, 2021, a report titled AYUSH Sector in India: Prospects and
Challenges’ was released during the event Ayur-Udyam. The report
highlighted that the AYUSH market size has crossed $18 billion and it is
expected to reach $23.3 billion in 2022.

7. Defence Acquisition Council approves
proposals worth Rs. 7,695 crores for armed
forces under ‘Make in India’
 The Defence Acquisition Council on November 2,
2021, approved the proposals worth Rs. 7,695 crores for
the Armed Forces Modernisation under ‘Make in India’.
 The Council was headed by the Union Defence Minister
Rajnath Singh.
 As per the press release by the Defence Ministry, the
defence acquisition council (DAC), in its meeting of
November 2, 2021, held under the Chairmanship of
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, accorded Acceptance of
Necessity (AoN) for capital acquisition proposals for
modernization and operational needs of the Armed Forces
amounting to Rs. 7,695 crores.
 The release added that all of these proposals (100%) are
under ‘Make in India’ with a focus on design,
manufacturing and development in India.

8. Yuvraj Singh comeback: Yuvraj Singh hints at
comeback in February 2022
 In a welcoming surprise, India's star allrounder Yuvraj Singh has hinted at
a comeback to cricket in February 2022.
 The left-handed batsman, regarded as one of the world's top batsmen,
had shocked the world by announcing his international retirement from
cricket in June 2019.
 Singh has hinted at his comeback with a video post on his Instagram
account that reads, "God decides your destiny !!
 On public demand i will be back on the pitch hopefully in February! Ain’t
nothing like this feeling! Thank you for your love and wishes mean a lot
to me! Keep supporting 🇮🇳 it’s our team and a true fan will show his or
her support in tough times."
 Yuvraj Singh had announced his retirement at a time when many believed
he still had it in him to make comeback into the Indian team. Singh is
known as one of the biggest match-winners that India has ever seen.

9. Indian Army conducts airborne exercise in
Eastern Ladakh amid standoff with China
 The Shatrujeet Brigade of the Indian Army will be
conducting an airborne exercise along the Northern
Borders in Eastern Ladakh to validate its rapid response
capabilities.
 The militaries of India and China have been engaged in a
border standoff in Eastern Ladakh since May 2020 when
the violent clash in the Pangong Lake area led to both
sides gradually rushing in thousands of soldiers as well as
weaponry.

10. Dhanteras 2021: Date Tithi, Timing, Muhurat,
Puja, Importance, History
 Dhanteras, also known as Dhantrayodashi, is a Hindu
festival that marks the beginning of the 5-day long festival
of lights Diwali.
 This year, Dhanteras 2021 will be celebrated on November
2, 2021. On this auspicious day of Dhanteras, devotees will
worship Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Kuber, the God of
Wealth. Dhanteras is also observed as Dhanvantri Jayanti,
the birth anniversary of the God of Ayurveda.
 The word Dhanteras comprises two parts, ‘Dhan’ meaning
wealth and ‘Teras’ meaning thirteen. Dhanteras is
celebrated on the 13th lunar day of Krishna Paksha in the
Hindu calendar month of Kartik. It marks the first day of
the festival of lights Diwali in India.

11. COP26: India will achieve net-zero carbon emissions target by
2070, PM Modi at climate summit in Glasgow
 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 1, 2021, addressed
the COP26 World Leaders’ Summit in Glasgow, Scotland, where he
highlighted that adaptation has not gained much importance in the global
climate debate as much as mitigation of climate crisis.
 During India’s national statement at COP26, he elaborated on India’s vision
and efforts. He said India will achieve its net-zero carbon emissions target
by 2070. He also met UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson on the sidelines of
the COP26 Summit.
 Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Glasgow on October 31, 2021, to
participate in the 26th Conference of Parties (COP26) on Climate Change
from November 1, 2021, to November 2, 2021. PM Modi had arrived in
Glasgow after concluding the 16th G20 Summit 2021 during his three-day
visit to Rome.
 Meanwhile, the COP26 to the United Nations Framework Convention on
Climate Change (UNFCCC) began on October 31, 2021, in Glasgow,
Scotland.
 Under the Presidency of the UK partnering with Italy in Glasgow, COP26 is
being held from October 31 to November 12, 2021.

12. Clean Ganga Mission registered in Guinness
Book of World Records on Day 1 of river
festival
 The National Mission of Clean Ganga (NMCG) has been
registered in the Guinness Book of World Records on the
first day of Ganga Utsav- the River Festival 2021 for the
highest number of photos of handwritten notes that were
uploaded on Facebook in an hour.
 Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Jal Shakti Minister had posted
his message on the Ganga on Facebook, after which the
Guinness activity was opened for the public at large.

13. Special Investigation Agency constituted in
J&K for probing terrorism related crimes
 The Jammu and Kashmir administration on November 1, 2021, ordered
the setting up of a specialized agency to be called Special Investigation
Agency (SIA) for the investigation and prosecution of offences of
terrorism, including UAPA and those under the Explosive Substances Act
and other crimes related to it in the Union Territory.
 The order to this effect was issued by a Special Secretary to the Home
Department, Khalid Majeed. As per the order, “Sanction is hereby
accorded to the constitution of a specialized Agency to be called the
Special Investigation Agency (SIA) for the investigation and prosecution
of offences specified in an annexure to this order.”
 Special Investigation Agency (SIA) in Jammu & Kashmir will take such
other measures as may be necessary for the speedy and effective
investigation and prosecution of terrorism-related cases.
