2. Elon Musk’s SpaceX establishes subsidiary in
India, plans to apply for license
SpaceX, owned by the world’s richest person Elon Musk, on
November 1, 2021, established its wholly-owned subsidiary in
India in order to start local broadband operations.
The satellite broadband arm of SpaceX, Starlink aims to start
the broadband services in India from December 2022, with 2
lakh active terminals subject to permission from the
Government of India.

has a 100% owned subsidiary in India.
The name is SSCPL- Starlink Satellite Communications Private
Limited and the incorporation date is November 1, 2021.

Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh
resigned from the Indian National Congress Party on

4. India likely to be first buyer of Russia’s S-500
anti-aircraft missile system
Russia is likely to export its cutting-edge S-500 anti-aircraft
missile systems to India and China in the future, said Dmitry
Shugaev, Director, the Russian Federal Service for Military-
Technical Cooperation (FSMTC). Russian Military will soon
receive the first batch of S-500 missiles system, said Russian
President Vladimir Putin on November 1.

Russia is planning to export the S-500 anti-aircraft missile
systems once the armed forces of Russia have enough of

The BJP and Congress have won one seat each in Karnataka

The Congress has also won all three assembly constituencies

7. Defence Acquisition Council approves
proposals worth Rs. 7,695 crores for armed
forces under ‘Make in India’
The Defence Acquisition Council on November 2,
2021, approved the proposals worth Rs. 7,695 crores for
the Armed Forces Modernisation under ‘Make in India’.
The Council was headed by the Union Defence Minister
Rajnath Singh.
As per the press release by the Defence Ministry, the
defence acquisition council (DAC), in its meeting of
November 2, 2021, held under the Chairmanship of
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, accorded Acceptance of
Necessity (AoN) for capital acquisition proposals for
modernization and operational needs of the Armed Forces
amounting to Rs. 7,695 crores.
The release added that all of these proposals (100%) are
under ‘Make in India’ with a focus on design,
manufacturing and development in India.

8. Yuvraj Singh comeback: Yuvraj Singh hints at
comeback in February 2022
In a welcoming surprise, India's star allrounder Yuvraj Singh has hinted at
a comeback to cricket in February 2022.

9. Indian Army conducts airborne exercise in
Eastern Ladakh amid standoff with China
The Shatrujeet Brigade of the Indian Army will be
conducting an airborne exercise along the Northern
Borders in Eastern Ladakh to validate its rapid response
capabilities.
The militaries of India and China have been engaged in a
border standoff in Eastern Ladakh since May 2020 when

11. COP26: India will achieve net-zero carbon emissions target by
2070, PM Modi at climate summit in Glasgow
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 1, 2021, addressed
the COP26 World Leaders’ Summit in Glasgow, Scotland, where he
highlighted that adaptation has not gained much importance in the global
climate debate as much as mitigation of climate crisis.
During India’s national statement at COP26, he elaborated on India’s vision
and efforts. He said India will achieve its net-zero carbon emissions target
by 2070. He also met UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson on the sidelines of
the COP26 Summit.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Glasgow on October 31, 2021, to
participate in the 26th Conference of Parties (COP26) on Climate Change

registered in the Guinness Book of World Records on the
first day of Ganga Utsav- the River Festival 2021 for the

13. Special Investigation Agency constituted in
J&K for probing terrorism related crimes
The Jammu and Kashmir administration on November 1, 2021, ordered
the setting up of a specialized agency to be called Special Investigation
Agency (SIA) for the investigation and prosecution of offences of
terrorism, including UAPA and those under the Explosive Substances Act
and other crimes related to it in the Union Territory.
The order to this effect was issued by a Special Secretary to the Home
Department, Khalid Majeed. As per the order, “Sanction is hereby
accorded to the constitution of a specialized Agency to be called the
Special Investigation Agency (SIA) for the investigation and prosecution
of offences specified in an annexure to this order.”
Special Investigation Agency (SIA) in Jammu & Kashmir will take such
other measures as may be necessary for the speedy and effective
investigation and prosecution of terrorism-related cases.
