• South African cricketer AB de Villiers, known to be one of
contemporary cricket's greatest batsmen, announced his
retirement from all forms of cricket on November 19,
2021.
• The 37-year-old announced his decision on Twitter with a
tweet, "It has been an incredible journey, but I have
decided to retire from all cricket. Ever since the back yard
matches with my older brothers,
• I have played the game with pure enjoyment and
unbridled enthusiasm. Now, at the age of 37, that flame
no longer burns so brightly."
• He thanked each and every teammate and staff member
and expressed gratitude for the immense support he

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi informed during his

the centre has decided to repeal all three farm
laws. PM Modi announced that the procedure to
repeal the three laws will begin at the Winter
Parliament session.
• He urged all farmers to return home to their

4. PM MODI INAUGURATES 1ST GLOBAL INNOVATION
SUMMIT OF PHARMACEUTICAL SECTOR
• Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first
Global Innovation Summit of the Pharmaceutical sector
on November 18, 2021 via video conferencing.
• The two-day Summit will comprise 12 sessions and
more than 40 national as well as international speakers
who discuss a range of subjects. Chemicals and
Fertilizers Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya was also
present at the Summit.
• “India is focusing on innovation and R&D of finished
products in the pharma sector,” said Mandaviya.
• India has announced various production-linked
incentive schemes for the pharma sector which will
make the country self-reliant in the pharma and
medical equipment sector, Mandaviya added.

6. INDIAN SCIENTISTS DISCOVER EXOPLANET 1.4
TIMES BIGGER THAN JUPITER
• A new exoplanet with a mass of 1.5 times that of
the Sun and about 1.4 times bigger than
Jupiter has been discovered by the exoplanet
search and study group at the Ahmedabad-based
Physical Research Laboratory (PRL). Professor
Abhijit Chakraborty led the discovery team
comprising students and international
collaborators from the US and Europe.
• The exoplanet located at 725 light-years away is
the second discovery by the PRL scientists, the
first exoplanet K2-236b at 600 light-years away
was discovered in 2018.

• The revamped Rezang La War memorial in Ladakh
has been inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath
Singh on November 18, 2021.
• The Defence Minister visited Rezang La to pay
tributes to the Indian soldiers who fought a battle
there in 1962 and dedicated to them a revamped
War Memorial.
• The Indian Army officials said, “The Rezang La war
memorial in Eastern Ladakh sector was a small one
and it has now been expanded. It will now be much
bigger than before and will be out on the tourist
map of the Ladakh Union Territory.”
8. UP’S FIRST ANTI-AIR POLLUTION TOWER
INAUGURATED IN NOIDA
• UP’s first air pollution control tower opened in
Noida on November 17, 2021. The anti-air
pollution tower is located in a posh sector 16-A.
• The tower, to curb the problem of air pollution in
Delhi NCR, has come up with joint efforts of the
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited and the Noida
Authority.
• The first anti-air-pollution tower in Uttar Pradesh
was inaugurated by the Union Heavy Industries
Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey. Minister Krishna
Pal, Noida MLA Pankaj Singh, Noida Authority
CEO Ritu Maheshwari, and Gautam Buddh Nagar
MP Mahesh Sharma were also present at the
inauguration of the anti-air pollution tower in
Noida.
