IMC - Clusters Development Since 2007 The journey started with the first cluster development project “Sakiet Abou Shaara Handmade Carpets” in 2007 till launching Creative Egypt in 2015, and the following table summarizing the current status of Clusters, MSMEs & Entrepreneurs participating in Creative Egypt till December 2017: Beneficiary Type Number of Beneficiaries Clusters (Associations / NGOs) 59 MSMEs (Micro & Workshops) with formal documents 69 Entrepreneurs 106 Total Number of Beneficiaries 234 Total Number of Crafts 35

  4. 4. IMC - Clusters Development Since 2007 Main Objective: To promote the formation of “Industrial and Handicrafts Clusters” and establishing linkages with IMC’s other development programs. This will be carried out by using “Cluster Development Methodology” to maximize the added value and social- economical return which will lead to a higher contribution in the national economy.

Clusters Development Methodology  Clusters’ Mapping (IMC – Egypt) & Selection (Sector-Location-Number of Units).  Trust Building.  Running a Comprehensive Diagnostic Study Including: 1- Profile of the Cluster & Cluster Background. 2- Defining Cluster Stakeholders. 3- Cluster Institutional & Stakeholders Matrix. 4- Supply & Value Chain Analysis (Vertical & Horizontal) 5- Cluster Mapping. (Exmple: Siwa Handicrafts Cluster) 6- SWOT Analysis. 7- Understanding of The Benchmark Cluster. 8- Analysis of Business Operation (AOBO): ◦ Raw Material ◦ Machinery & Production ◦ Products & Marketing ◦ Finance & Working Capital ◦ Manpower & HR Requirement ◦ Infrastructure Facilities

(Based on Results & Recommendations of The Diagnostics Study). - PPP (Public Private Partnership) - Soft Interventions / Hard Intervention (IMC Services) - SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) - CFC (Common Facility Centre) - Cluster Executive Agent (IMC Advisor)  Implementation.  Continues Monitoring & Evaluation.  Exit Phase.
