Gabriel created a 3-page newsletter in Photoshop over 18 steps. He began by setting up the document dimensions and columns on the first page. He then added title lines, colors, icons, and titles. Gabriel wrote articles and summaries for the first page. He replicated the layout and added articles for pages 2 and 3 on fashion/music and sports. Finally, Gabriel edited photos, placed them, and proofread the newsletter before completing it.

PRODUCTION DIARY
Step 1:
First I have opened Photoshop and I am going to create an a4 page
so I can start making my first page of my newsletter. The dimensions
on the picture are the dimensions for a4. I have chosen these
measurements because they are what my teacher told me to and it
makes it look professional.

Step 2:
In the second step I am going to make my page into three columns
because in the specifications that my teacher gave me it says that
each column has to be 7 cm each and it will make all of the columns
all the same length. To be able to do this you will have to go to view
and go down to rulers because that’s how you get the measurements
right and make it even. I am doing this because it makes the page
look neat and it gives me a guide to there I can write text.

Step 3:
Now I am going to add my line for my title. I am going to do this
because it is going to help me line my title up and it will make it
easier to type and it makes it look neat and professional. I am going
to do this by going to the line tool and then I am going to start the
line there I think it would look nice and then I have to hold down
shift when I am dragging the line because otherwise it won’t go into
a straight line. When you have done your line it should look like this.
I am also going to add a line for my interactive features and it makes
it look nice because it will all be in line.

STEP 4:
For step 4 I am going to add my colour scheme what is
this. i have chosen this colour scheme because I had 3
different one and this one got the most votes so I
chose it. I like this colour wave because I like the tone
of each colour and I think it will stand out compared
from everyonelse. When I am going to add colour to my background I
am going to leave room either side becaise it gives the newsletter a
nice feel.
I have also made one of my boxes accross 2 colums because I think it
make the front page of the newsletter look nices and it does no put
to much on the eye and it looks simple.

STEP 5:
In step 5 I am going to add my icons for my interactive features I am
going to do they by going on to the internet and save them and then
put them on my newsletter. The interactive features I have chosen
are these.
I have chosen these because they are the necessary ones any you
don’t what to add to may because the reader will get confused and
might click the wrong one. This is what my one turned out like.

STEP 6:
In this step I am going to add my title I am going to add my title name
as Barkingside Chronical I have chosen this name because when I was
doing my planning I asked my class and they chose that one because
it makes sense with the area I am doing it in and it sounds
profetioinal. I am going to make my title a very catching but I don’t
want to make it unprofessional. My title is going to be in black and in
font impact, size 62pt.
In my title box I am going to add issue no. 1 and the price of the
newsletter because it lets the reader decide if they want to buy it for
a price and says that there might be another one if it says issue no 1.

STEP 7:
In my 7th
step I have changed around my interactive features, my
title and I have added much more detail. Let’s start with my title.
So for my title I have go for the Barkingside in big bold red letters
because it shows where the newsletter is based I also have added
the issue number when it was released and how much it will be. In
my opinion I think it makes the front page look more like a
newsletter.
Second I have changed around me interactive features.
For my interactive features I have made them smaller because they
didn’t have to be that big I have also added the website for the name
of the newsletter but it is not a real website.

STEP 8:
Now I am going to start writing my front page. I am going to start
with my editors word this when you say things about what the article
is about and say enjoy the article.
I have also wrote a summary for each subject I have gone into detail
for each one but I have not go pictures yet because I haven’t taken
them yet. But I have tried to make a person read it because I have
made the stories really interesting people would probably want to
view the full story. This is what I have done so far.

STEP 10:
Now I am going to start my 2nd
and 3rd
page first I am going to put my
measurements as 42cm by 29.7 cm
This measurements will give me a two page spread.
10. Productiondiary

No I have to split the two pages up so I am going to go to view and go
to rulers. When I go to rulers it will put a ruler on the outside of your
work. Then you have to go the line tool. Then go to the middle of the
two pages (21cm) then hold down shift and drag the line down and it
will look like this.
Now you have to draw the columns on the page so on 7 cm for each
and it will look like this.
11. Productiondiary

No I have do this I will have to put a line for my title and a line for the
interactive features.
No I am going to include a title for each page. To let the reader know
which one is which.

STEP 11:
now I have included my background colours I am doing to make one
page one colour and the other page another colour I am also going g
to stick with my colour scheme that is blue and green.
Then after I have added the colour is should look like this.
I have left gaps because it makes it look nice.

STEP 12:
In this step I am going to include my interactive features, I have
included all of the ones that I had included on the first page but just
double of the amount.
STEP 13:

16. Productiondiary

STEP 16:
Now I have finished writing my articles for sport and i am going to
change my titles for sport, fashion and music.
I have now finished changing my titles I have chosen titles that make
the page look nice and fill the page I have also chosen names that I
think correspond of the articles I have wrote I have also given the
titles some colour.
STEP 17:
Now I am going to start checking my articles for spelling mistakes
and for any punctuation I might need to add because the examiner
will have to read it and because if I publish it will look unprofessional
if there is lots of spelling mistakes.
So what I am going to do is get each article and put it on to word and
find everything that is wrong with at article.
STEP 18:
Now I am going to start putting my pictures on to my newsletter but
before I upload them I have to edit the photos that that is what I am
going to do.
I am first going to start my pictures on my front page.
18. Productiondiary
Gabriel best
I have now go one of my pictures and I need to cut out the
background so I am going to this by cropping out some of the
background. I am going to do this by going to the crop button on the
side bar.
Now I am going to drag the crop tool over the amount of image I
want to keep.
19. Productiondiary
Gabriel best
Now I am going to click enter and this will happen.
Now I have done all of my editing for this image and now I am going
to copy and paste it on to my page.
20. Productiondiary

my pages so now I have finished my newsletter.

newsletter.
