Areas of improvement
Pre-Production: in the planning of our short film we had many problems one of these
things we could have changed was sticking to one idea not changing ideas every
week. We could have also talked more as a group and we could've written all of our
ideas down and decided that way. We could have also taken some test shots to
make sure what we were filming was correct and it would work in our film.
Production: in our production we had many issues one of these was our main
character was wear multiply coats in different scenes this is because we didn't have
enough time to film all of the scenes we needed to in one day and that is why the
characters are wearing different clothing because we never had time to correct this
and re film the scenes. Another issue we had whilst filming was when we had to film
our characters did not come to school so this delayed our filming and this was a bad
thing because we had to change some of the scenes to suit the requirement we had
to meet for that shot.
Post production: in our editing stage the main issues was that we could not edit the
full movie in one sitting because we only had 1 hour lessons and this was the only
time we had to film and this is an issue because every time we had to stop it was
hard to correct the same scene because you would forget what you were doing
because each lesson was mostly on different days. Another issue we had was the
audio on the on-board cameras wasn't very good and it kept picking up background
noise, so this is why we included music over most of our walking and exploring
scenes. And final issue with the post production stage was that everyone in our
group had to have a role in the making of the film weather editing, filming and acting
so we all had to take turns but this took a long time and it confused everyone
because everyone was doing their own thing not consulting the group.
When we were in our editing stage we decided to use IMovie instead to final cut pro
because we were beginner editors but for our film if we would of used final cut pro in
my opinion I think the film would of been better because you have more options
available to you compared to IMovie and this is where we could have made a big
improvement on our film.
